Hello, Anyone have a fix to make the Sonos play 5 speaker appear in Spotify connect menu (both on the Spotify iOS and macOS app) ? Rebooting the Sonos used to do the trick for me but not anymore. Rebooted the Sonos, rebooted my router / modem, uninstalled and reinstalled the Spotify apps, removed and readded my Spotify Account in the Sonos App. Nothing. :(

I just updated my Sonos system and Google Assistant to control my Sonos speakers. I am getting an error when I ask Google to play Spotify in any room. It states Spotify is unavailable. When I ask google to play Spotify on the Mini home, It works perfectly. I have unlinked and relinked both accounts and I am still getting the same error. I tried the same command with Pandora and it works fine. I can ask Google to play Pandora in any room or on Mini Home and it works flawlessly. Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!

I appear to have enabled the recently played feature but find it to be not useful for me.  I want to disable it but can’t find a way. I’ve been through all the Settings options.  Surely there is a way?

I’ve been using my playbase as the primary speaker for watching television for several months, and I am still unable to configure it to produce proper sound for dialogue. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing. IT SUCKS! I have meddled extensively with the EQ settings, voice enhancement , and night mode. The midrange sound produced by Playbase for dialogue is unacceptable, especially for such an expensive piece of hardware from a brand I’ve trusted & enjoyed for nearly a decade. Dialog sound is muddled, tinny, distorted and narrow. I see on the boards this is a very common complaint, especially among audiophiles and existing Sonos customers who have enjoyed their other products. The Playbase appears to be an epic fail. I am at my wits end. I’m going to demand a full refund from Sonos unless this is resolved in the next 24 hours. I’m just sick of it. ???????

I have a Play 5 (2nd Gen) and Play 1 and since I was notified last night that an upgrade had happened I now struggle to get any playback at all. My Bluesound devices and airplay devices all work fine so it’s not a Wi-fi strength issue (around 25mbps) so I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue since the update? I get a few seconds of music and then it cuts out and regular disconnection issues with the speakers (cannot locate a speaker) and ‘unable to playback’ messages. Any help would be appreciated! Am I allowed to swear in here? Seriously, I’ve gone through all the steps multitudes of times and many of us know how much time it takes do do even a single cycle of resetting sonos controller and alexa etc. It will work for maybe 2 days and then the whole thing starts again! Why can’t Sonos FIX THIS?? Now it seems worse with the last update - as if that was even possible. Now when I try to use the sonos app it tells me one of my speakers is disconnected on an black screen with a ‘room settings’ icon - when I try to press that it simply loops back to the same screen with no results. The only option is to reset the controller. Great - that loops back to you having to log in again and either connect to an existing group or set up new. When you connect to the existing group it recognizes it just fine but then surprise surprise, it sends you back to the black screen saying one of your speakers is diconnected and the whole cycle starts again. Why don’t I hear sound through my playbar when I have my cable playing through the TV? Since my Samsung flatscreen tv is a little older without a Digital Audio Optical port, I had to buy a Digital Optical to RCA converter to utilize the Red-White ports on my TV. However, I still do not hear sound. Everything is plugged in. Has anyone run into an issue like this before? Thanks

Until recently Alexa would play BBC Radio 4 and 6 music on request.  Now when I ask for radio 4, it plays an American station.  When I ask for Radio 6 Music, it selects various BBC stations, but not the one I want.  I’ve tried many permutations for the request.  I see some comments online about Alexa not working with BBC sounds and no longer working with TuneIn, but my Alexa does play BBC radio stations, just not the ones I request! Many thanks in advance,Andy

I wanted to get a Sonos playbar with a sub to make a complete 5.1 set with the stereo pair play 3 that I already owned. Should I wait for the playbar 2? Because the playbar 1 is lacking a lot of feature compared to the beam like airplay 2, hdmi arc, which is very helpful because my tv uses a RF remote so the IR sensor on the playbar can’t pickup the signal. 

Have 1 beam, 1 sub-woofer and 1 play5. How can I listen music without buying another expensive unit. Sonos DID NOT answer my question. Thanks.

Hey all - trying to figure out why my brand new Move keeps turning itself on while docked (and sometimes while off the dock). Music doesn’t play but I don’t want Move to have a dead battery when I go to use it. It’s very inconsistent. I have a handful of other sonos speakers on the same network but not grouped with the move.

My ancient Bose 3-2-1 stereo system is dying, and I would like to upgrade (find out wherther all those Bose-hares out there are right). Has anyone compared the Sonos Play 5s with high-end wited speakers, like the ones in Magnolia stores?  Or with any wired hi-fi speakers?

Playing my CDs via Sonos Connect has been problematic ever since I bought it 2 weeks ago. First it would not work and then one day it did work. Although the Sonos app on my iPhone SE showed the CD player running, there was no sound - Sometimes! On one occasion it was playing my CD and suddenly went silent even though the app still showed it playing. Next I re-installed the Sonos app on my iPhone SE but it did not fix the fault. Then I installed the app on my wife's iPhone SE and it would not work on that device either. My son installed the Sonos app on his Samsung Galaxy S8 and it worked perfectly. I also installed the app on our iPad and that also worked perfectly. Clearly there is an issue (conflict?) between the latest Sonos app and the latest iOS on the iPhone SE. I can live with using the iPad but would prefer to use my iPhone to control my Sonos system. I wonder if anyone knows of a fix? Chris

Hi, Here comes a sound noob question. I have a Sonos Amp connected to two Dali bookshelf speakers. I have now purchased a Dali sub. Do I connect the AMP to the subwoofer LFE bypassing the Bulut in crossover and using the Amps crossover or do I have to connect the subwoofer with a Y-Cable to the L/R input on the subwoofer. I have now connected the amp to the subwoofers LFE and it seems to work very well. Would there be an advantage in sound if I got a Y-cable to connect to the L/R-input on the subwoofer instead?

I have an epson VS250 that is currently running a chrome cast out of the HDMI port on the back of the projector. I am running a 3.5mm to (red & white) RCA which is directly plugged into my play 5 with line in turned on. I haven’t been able to get any sound out of the play 5. I’d be super appreciative of any tips to get this working! Thanks a ton!

Alexa doesn't respond on the Beam. Help!!!!

Hi all, My Beam is great. I can turn my TV on and off with it by saying, “Alexa, family room on/off” My issue is that I’ve just installed two Philips Hue bulbs in wall fixings. My other Philips Hue bulbs in the house work with my other Alexa devices. I just say, “Alexa, Sitting Room On/Off” and they turn on and off. When I ask the Beam to do this it responds, “Did you mean Family Room?” When I say, “No,” it responds, “Sorry, I didn’t find a device called Sitting Room.” Any ideas before I murder Alexa?

I have a Sonos Zoneplayer (ZP80) and I'm browsing for a potential replacement. Is there a recommended product or line I should be looking at?

FYI my music library resides on an external drive connected to my iMac. No change here. Yesterday, I upgraded to macOS Catalina. Today, my Imported Playlists (from iTunes, now Music) no longer appear in Sonos. Any fix for this?

Hello All, I have a question about the Sonos Amp. Is is possible to use the HDMI and analog RCA input simultaniously and stream their signals to different Sonos speakers? Example: Stream the audio of a playstation thats connected through the HDMI input to the speakers near the TV and at the same time stream the audio of a turntable thats connected through the RCA input to the speakers in the kitchen? And/or would it also be possible to stream an internet service (eg, spotify) to a third pair of speakers while using the other input(s)? Cheers!

Has anyone managed to get Sonos speakers to show up as devices in the Shortcuts app? I have Sonos Ones and they are set up in the Home app, but they won’t show up as devices in the Shortcuts app so I can add them to scenes/automations.

I have a Sony TV, about 3 years old. I have bought a Samsung soundbar and Sonos One SL speakers to set up a surround sound sytem, but cannot get The TV bluetooth to connect to anything wirelessly. Any ideas please?

The discussion about export, import, backup and sharing playlists is at least 6 years old and diverse in requested functionality. In the 6 years I use SONOS this topic continues to pop up... There are lots of threads, questions, answers and frustrations on the theme, often asking different functionality. There are also 3rd party tips and tricks to be found in the forums but none of them is really easy - or they simply don't work anymore. . I know from my ICT experience import and export is very difficult and tricky functionality. [b]So I can imagine SONOS stays away from import/export functionality to avoid trouble[/b]. So decided to put the question another way. [b][i]What I ask in this request is a VERY BASIC functio[/i][/b]n: just make it possible to make a [b]plain text file[/b] from a playlist, just holding the songname,artist and album title as they are displayed while playing. Either as a pop-up or as a small file to desktop or set destination. [b][i]PLEASE support this que

The kids can control our tv through their playstation, and sometimes do so by accident even. We have 1 network and don't plan on getting an extra one just because of a super basic feature which should be a very fundamental thing... I was planning on buying all the extra speakers, surround sound and subwoofer too, but no chance now. It's 2020, and like many other people are saying also, even coffee machines have password protection on wifi's... Interesting to see that this basic request has been an issue for hundreds of people using Sonos hardware I've seen on here alone, beyond 2006 ! Sono's make a lot of money.. please listen to your consumers in future. It really isn't much to ask.
