Is there a way to lock the volumes when grouping speakers so that they raise and lower proportionately?  I have several Sonos One’s throughout our house and I set them at different levels so that I can raise and lower them together proportionately, however, every time I open the app again for the day, they are all back to equal levels.  I have them balanced on purpose and I’d like to keep it that way. 

Hi,is there any cheaper alternative for hdfury arcana. I am using an old 2010 model sony tv which has an ARC port but unfortunately do not support dolby digital plus. My amazon fire tv stick which supports dolby digital plus hence i can enjoy atmos content on my sonos arc. Not in a position to spend money for a new tv hence looking for a cheaper option. Even an ARC output with dolby digital plus support is fine fo my requirements. Hdfury arcana is not locally available in New Zealand and its too expensive for me. Thanks in advance.

Play & pause buttons on individual rooms would be really useful when wanting to shut down various streams, rather than having to open each one.  (And global buttons at the top, for when leaving the house, for example)

Is this replacement easy for a consumer to do and how is it done? Thanks

I am a paid youtube music member, and own a SONOS lamp. I have been using SONOS with my youtube music, and it has been fine up until recently. Now when I got to my library I’m met with “Unable to browse music”. Please advise. 

I have a Sonos Port that I’m trying to control all of my speakers downstairs. I created a group called downstairs in the Alexa app and my Sonos Port shows up. However when I go to the Sonos App it doesn’t show up. When I tell Alexa to play music down stairs it says “Playing music on downstairs. Sorry I cannot play music on downstairs. Sorry something went wrong” and that’s it. I have already removed all products from Sonos and Alexa apps and also removed the Sonos skill from the Alexa app and then reconnected all of my devices and still nothing. In different rooms upstairs I have a few Sonos ones and they all work with the Alexa and show up in my Sonos App. Any thoughts on how I can get Alexa to control my port? Or could it be an issue with the port itself?

I’ve had an odd problem for just over a week now in that when I turn the LG 77CX on there’s a split second of sound from the Arc and then the volume immediately goes to “0” and the Arc volume has to be turned up again after which everything is fine. This happens virtually every time the TV is turned on, playing audio/music only, the Arc works fine. It’s definitely a problem with the Arc as unplugging the TV to Arc EARC cable and then turning the TV on works fine as audio reverts back to the TV internal speakers without the need to adjust the volume. I’ve had the Arc since release and not had this problem before, any helpful advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello the community I recently goes to Catalina and iTunes changed in MUSIC. Now I realise I can’t see any updates of my playlists. No new one are recognize by Sonos. It seems it’s an usual problem with Music but I realy need to have acces to those playlists. Someone of you had found any solution about this problem?PS/ My playlist doesn’t exceed 100 titles and I only have something like 20 or 30 playlists. Thank you very much.

I’ve had Sonos for many years and use it all the time.  I have a large system.  I would like to find a way to block the incessant messages to upgrade to the S2 system. I don’t want to spend the money on the new equipment, and I don’t want to run both S1 and S2 as separate systems.  Is there a way to block the messages?   They are annoying to say the least, and I’m not interested.

Hoping I can get some help here… I have a pair of Sonos One SLs paired together as part of a wired Sonos setup; my Sonos Play:One is wired to my router. Everything works great… EXCEPT AirPlay to these speakers when they’re paired.What happens is at some point, the speakers both go silent after anywhere between a minute to an hour. The streaming app on my iPhone X (usually Apple Music) indicates that it’s still streaming, I can use the controls to play/pause playback, I see the scrub bar moving, songs are still advancing through the playlist, etc. but there’s no audio! I can even pause (silent) playback using the touch controls on top of the Sonos speakers which is registered by my iPhone, although I cannot restart playback. The only way for me to get audio back is to disconnect AirPlay from the speakers then reconnect to them, but the problem eventually (and usually quickly) returns.This ONLY happens when the speakers are paired. I just updated my house WIFI with Asus RT-AX86U, with AC88U & AC66U_B1 as Aimesh nodes with ethernet backhaul. I followed every other topic about FW version, Airtime Fairness, QoS, etc, but still my Sonos equipment (a Play5 Gen 2, a Play1, 2 One SL, and a Beam) are not able to function (random disconnections, no control over the S2 app, etc.

Just subscribed to Free Trial, so 30 days remain for this to work out or then it gets cancelled. I get ads - infuriating, on all stations, and I can’t skip tracks so maybe I don’t really have HD sound either.Read some threads, re-booted all Sonos components, just upgraded to S2, in the app it says Free Subscription activated.  What’s up with that?H

Hello all! Has anyone experience alexa wouldn’t change the volume on the Beam  regardless of what volume commands you give it and its always “device is at volume 6” manually changing the volume by tv remote and the touch control it still works as normal. For example if i decrease the volume on the touch controls , the volume does decrease and when asking alexa what the volume is, it would be still at 6.   

Hi! I am designing a new cinema / sport room set-up as part of a major renovation. I have a 65” LG OLED being recess / flush mounted above a 100cm bioethanol fire. I have rear ceiling speakers and a sub to connect as well. My question is - Sonos Arc surface mounted below the TV OR in wall hidden speakers below the TV? I am worried that a surface mounted Arc will look stuck on the wall and ruin the design. Recessed amp powered speakers will look smarter, but will they give good sound quality?  Thanks! 

We have Apple Music Family Sharing.  My husband added his Apple account and my son added his account.  However, when I try to add my account it will not allow me to.  It allows me to add Apple Music but then for the log in, it is for my husband’s account and won’t let me sign in.  It is the same result if I try to add Apple Music to Sonos on my phone or my Mac.  I have no problems with directly using Apple Music on my Mac or phone.  In other words, I can use my own Apple Music account.   In trying to resolve the issue, I also discovered that I can not sign in to Sonos with my account information (email) and it automatically has my husband’s email  and asks for that log in.  I have deleted the Sonos apps and reinstalled with the same result on both my phone and Mac.  What am I doing wrong? 

I am an owner of a Sonos Beam and I am curious about the support of Dolby Digital plus (DD+).  The only surround codec that is supported by the beam is Dolby Digital 5.1 (DD5.1).At the moment the beam doesn't support DD+. Nowadays the standard audio codec within streaming services is DD+. Streaming services like Netflix and Amazon prime only use DD+ as audio codec for surround sound. Sonos profiles itself as a company targeting on  delivering good sound for streaming services.In my opinion it is the Achilles heel of the Sonos beam not supporting DD+. The beam wil produce no sound or poor quality PCM stereo using Netflix or Prime on older TV's that can not transcode DD+ to DD5.1. In the reality it will often result in no surround sound and the beam is preforming under its ability.Adding the support of DD+ wil solve this problem and make it up to date with nowadays standards.So my question will DD+ be added in the future as supporting audiocodec for the Beam?  

It’d be great if there was a ‘Shuffle Albums’ play option for Music Libraries.  Apple Music (iTunes, not the service) has this and is it is a great way to re-explore your library.

Hi folks,Many people spoke about the latency response via the line-in when trying to connect DJ Mixer yo Sonos system. I have a simpler question though; if i tried to connect mixer to the line-in port in Sonos five paired with another Sonos Five. Would i atill experience latency? i am not sure if this is the same question that has been asked before or not but most questions were talking about multi-room streaming but i am simply connecting pair of fives in one room and want to use them to stream music sourced from mixer. 

As of today, all of a sudden Apple Music won’t play - or plays one song, then stops.I’ve done the following:Unplugged then plugged back in the Sonos speaker Restarted my wifi router Reauthorized my Apple Music account Removed and then readdd my Apple Music accountNo matter what I do, the issue persists. I am able to play my Apple Music playlists using the native music app and airplay - I just can’t play Apple Music using the Sonos app.

At random times... my system starts by itself, often playing very loudly. This just started a couple months ago. Sometimes will start in middle of night, including the outdoor speakers. I have to figure out how to stop this! I tried disconnecting the system for a week while we were on vacation, but it did it again today when i plugged in the system again

My S1 controller on my android phone has, up to a day or two ago, controled all devices on my system, some “legacy” S1 devices and others newer S2 devices.  I presume an update has occured and as a result all the S2 devices have dropped off my system.  I have tried resetting the S2 devices but they remain unseen by my S1 controller.  Quite apart from the irritation and time wasted  I am appalled by the plan, by Sonos,  to effectively cause perfectly functioning devices to become obsolete.  This can only have a commercial motive, ie to rip off and treat their customers as cash cows.  If I cannot get a solution to this nonsense I will never buy another sonos device ever again and will council any of my well heeled friends to avoid this company with a seriously problematic business model.If any sonos advisor would like to contact me and talk me through a solution...and it all works when he finishes the call then I may be tempted to rivise this view
