I am considering buying a few Move speakers to use both indoors and outdoors depending on how I am entertaining. The idea is to put one Move for background music in each of the kitchen, dining room, and study. Then, if I want to entertain in the backyard, I’ll place all three Moves outdoors. (I have a large backyard, so three Moves will not be overkill.) I do not plan on creating stereo pairs inside or out. My backyard has strong WiFi coverage. Will I run into any issues (e.g. audio syncing) if the Moves are not assigned to the same room when using together outside within the same area? I know I can group rooms to make controlling them easier. I am asking about audio quality. I expect it will be fine, but wanted to check.
My sonos roam is making AN UNBEARABLE NOISE on random moment, i don’t turn it on anymore and i don’t plan to.The unit is in perfect condition, i am terribly disappointed.
If you have Wi-Fi connection can you connect pair of roams in stereo mode with Bluetooth source like Samsung freestyle projector? And since roams need to be in bt mode to recive signal from projector that doesn’t unable em to work in Wi-Fi as condition for stereo mode? Thx in adv
At the moment I have to hold the power button down for a few seconds to power it off. Sometimes this doesn’t work and although I don’t let go of the button it thinks I have. So today it took 5 attempts before the speaker powered down.I don’t use the feature where it will shut itself off and go into sleep after being idle for a while because, annoyingly for my use case, it powers itself back up again when I open the Sonos app. This is not what I require because the Roam is only used occassionally in the bathroom. If there was an option to not do this then I would use this method.Given the above, I would like to be able to power off completely using either the app or a voice command. I know I probably need to create a request but I doubt they will do anything if only one person requires it!!
I am beyond done with my Sonos Roam. It has always had issues connecting and staying connected to my network. I have experienced the same issue with Bluetooth. Every month or so I try it again but to no avail. I will step through the troubleshooting process – restarting the device and ultimately my router. Nothing works these days. It shows up in my Sonos app as not connected, and after all the troubleshooting I’m told to try again another time.I spent hours on the phone with Sonos support early on. They admitted this is a known problem that they are working to fix. It’s been close to a year and still no progress. I could not return or exchange it because I got it from Best Buy and discovered it’s uselessness after the return window. IMO, Sonos should not be selling defective products period. I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so in an effort to warn others. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
This has to be the dumbest question around here, but here goes:When buying a blue / red / green Roam, what color is the USB cable included? I’ve done the research and genuinely couldn’t find that info.A bit silly but I do want my charger to match the cable, otherwise it’s ugly.

I only have the Roam speaker. Trying to download the app and need specific app name in IOS app store. I just plan to use the Roam while playing golf, so need a simple app. Or, do I need a Sonos app at all? have no subscriptions and don’t plan any. What is simplest way to stream music from my iPhone?
Just got a second Roam to use as a stereo pair when not at home, looks like for whatever screwed up reason this is not implemented (yet?), any chance it will be added soon?
Hi - I just bought the Roam - I will be paring it with mt Sonos One speaker in my main home. I also have a holiday home - what happens when i bring the Roam there? Do I need to de- pair it? Do I need a new app for the second location? Thanks
Obviously got a Roam today and got to work for about 10 mins and then quickly descended to sadness and cannot wait until tomorrow to return this defective piece of garbage. wifi workedbt workedthen sudden horrendous noise (like cd skipping but louder).hard shutdownreconnect noise came backrepeat shutdownFactory resetagain reconnectedNothing workednow the current state is the roam it is not powering up at all even after charging most of the day. Just an amber light that fades out when holding the power button unplugged.plugged in it does nothing not even the amber light.I calling this product an epic fail and returning ASAP.too bad I like the other Sonos stuff we have…..the controller software sucks but that’s another time.
Mon sonos move se met en veille et impossible de le rallumer. La seule méthode que j'ai trouvé est d'attendre que la batterie se vide et en suite de rallumer le move. Quelle solution pour sortir de la veille ?
I just want to share my frustration with this brand and its complicated products. I mean, I spent hundreds of dollars on a Roam and Move, and the price led me to assume the product would come with the craftsmanship, ease of use, durability, and features that other similar brands come with. Well, my move no longer works. Out of frustration, I opened it up and... Yada Yada Yada. ... My roam works alright when I invest a couple of hours to charging it and sitting staring at it and waiting for the damn light to go from orange then white. But I digress, I was working on my food truck the other day, and I forgot I had it outside. I woke up and rushed outside only to find it exactly where I had left it. No one took it :( I left an expensive ass speaker outside, on a main street, and no one even wanted it.
Can more than one Sonos roam be paired via Bluetooth?
My original Roam died and has been replaced under warranty. Since the problems seemed to be power related, I’m thinking of only using this one on USB-C and keeping the wireless charger in a drawer. Is this paranoid? The original would regularly drain faster than it’d charge on the wireless pad but the new one seems to be behaving and I was wondering what experiences everyone else had. I may even try out the voice assistant again on USB-C with this guy, it killed the battery faster than anything else on the first one.
Buyed my Roam the 01/07/2021, worked good except for the sound stuttering constantly when scrolling Youtube on my phone. Now the product is completly unusable, turns itself off after a few minutes for no reasons, sometimes lower the volume despite having no volume limitation in the settings (happens with both my phone and computer).I tried doing the reset, changing settings like the surround or autoconnection but nothing worked.App is up to date, account connected, there’s no voice assistant linked.I sent a report after the shut down and restart so you guys can check what’s going on inside : 978345758
Hi , I have a pair of FIVE speakers wired into a new turntable which works brilliantly. I want to operate a CD player alongside, can I do this without unplugging the turntable every time?
I am connected to a Vizio 65” with ethernet cable connected to Arc and sub with move speaker. WiFi is located in the same room. While watching tv, the sound comes out of Arc perfect, does not cut out. However, the move speaker sound is “pulsing”. it literally cuts in/out about every second or two. What am i doing wrong?
Bonjour. Merci.
I just got my Sonos Move and I can connect using my Android via WIFI but I am unable to connect using my Mac via WIFI, and I would like to be able to listen to Apple Music from my Mac
Only the Roams show this behaviour. Both powered off with the three chime feedback. Are they actually powered off or not?
I would love to add a speaker outside in my backyard. Will Roam connect to my Sonos Sound System so that whatever I am playing inside is heard outside on the Roam as well??
Is it possible to create a stereo pair with two Sonos Roam sl via Bluetooth?
I searched and did not see this answered. I have two (2) Sonos Move (and a Sonos Ray, but not consequential for this question). My music service is ITunes. How do I play ITunes to both Sonos Move, simultaneously? I was told you could do this, which is why I invested in a 2nd Move. Seems only SONOS Radio allows simultaneous play?
I have purchased a Move. If I were to add a second speaker, so that there are two good speakers within one room or I have speakers in different rooms, what speaker would best compliment the Move? Can I have two Moves?
