H all…i have had a sonos roam as part of my system for 2 years now, and suddenly it is no longer connecting to my system. I have gone through all the steps to get it set up, and it keeps ending with the same result, not able to connect at this time. There are no app updates to do and i have rebooted my modem several times. All my other speakers and subs are working just fine. Thoughts? Tips? Thanks so much!
How long is the current sale running for?
So I have a Sonos Arc 1 w/Sonos one SLs, Sonos Roam, and on Sonos SL in another room. Now I would like to add my Sonos Move to HomeKit. In HomeKit when I try to add it I get two messages. 1st - AirPay, Unable to connect to “Move”. 2nd - Unable to Add Accessory. Make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi, then try pairing again. If I go to Control Center I can choose the Move to play and it does so it must be setup in AirPlay already. I’m confused when three of my devices are connected and one won’t.
Hello, I plane to buy a “sonos move” to use as a bluetooth device and as a multiroom device.I have soon two sonos play:1Do you think it is possible to add the sonos move to my two sonos play:1 ?Are these devices compatible ?Is it easy to do ?Thank you
Question: Why does the microphone light on my Sonos Move sometimes come on all by itself (and then go off again) when the device is powered off? Surely if the device is switched off, it should be OFF! The device is setup with the microphone on so that Auto Trueplay can work but no voice assistant is set up or enabled. This seems pretty suspect to me!! Eavesdropping?! Attached is a photo showing the device powered off yet the microphone light on. Shortly after taking the photo, without touching the device, the microphone light went out. This is not the first time I have witnessed this behaviour…. Any suggestions / explanations? Many thanks in advance!
I have since a month a sonos move. Its my 2nd one. The first one works ok. Thos new one doesn’t charge at all. No lights are burning nothing. It worked for a month a now it stopped. Reset doesnt work, reconnect doesnt. Nothing works. Unfortunately my 1st sonos move is 650 km away from where I am, so I cant verify what the faulty element is, the charging base or the Sonos. What to do now?
Sonos should make portable speaker with LED lights matching with the song with subwoofer
Hi there! I have a special situation: I am an exchange student and this week bought a Sonos Roam for in my room. I had assumed it would be no problem to connect to the wifi here in my university dormitory here, because every room got their own small router. But, as it turns out, it does not work. I always get stuck at the step where my Roam has been installed on the network, but that I have to restart my Roam so that it will become visible in Systems in the Sonos app. It never appears though, whatever troubleshooting steps I go through and however long Sonos is searching for the Roam.Eventually, I installed my Sonos on the network of the hotspot of my laptop (for which my laptop just uses the room wifi of course). So the problem should not be with my Sonos or my phone, I would say, but only with the router. Does anyone have any clue why that would be? It is just a regular router satisfying Sonos’s requirements, with just a long network name and a long password. This is the model by the
Can any Roam SL owners tell me if device plays a sound when you power on and off? I have a Wonderboom and it makes a loud sound when it powers on or off which can be intrusive eg. for a meditation class. Thanks!
Why does my sonos roam is always disconnected when my phone changes of signal but is the same Wi-Fi?
Hello everyone! I have a move, I always keep it in the charging base and it's already the second time I turn it on but it doesn't turn on, only the microphone light stays on. Has anyone had the same problem as me? do you know how to solve? thanks in advance to whoever answers me.p.s. any key I press nothing happens. I can't turn it on or off
I bought my second Roam recently, to add the option of stereo playback but I must say I’m disappointed with how it works. These are portable rechargeable speakers and will spend a fair amount of time powered off - so with a mic built in (and trueplay++) there’s an obvious opportunity to stereo-up when the laws of physics suggest it makes sense, automatically. This could be done intelligently:If one Roam speaker is playing and another on the same system is turned on and can hear the track playing via the mic (you know it’s a Roam speaker and what it should outputting so can be sure it is the “other” Roam) it should switch to stereo pair automatically. You also know what volume it should be playing, so can judge if the distance is too far for decent stereo imaging (and decide NOT to stereo up in that case). Grouping with another single Roam (eg by long press play/pause) could switch into stereo by default, with an advanced setting not to if the user so chooses when the speakers can hear
What do I have to do to fix this? Even my other portable, a Roam is appearing on both. The Android app just refuses to see it in the system.
I used my Sonos Move at a friend’s house but now cannot reconnect it to my system. The orange light comes on, it searches and finds it, says setting up your device, then tells me to connect to the Move’s wifi. I do this, whereupon it tells me to connect with a cable to my router. The Move does not have an ethernet port, so how can I do that?!! I have tried rebooting a couple of times and it works with bluetooth.
Hello, I got my Roam speakers set up through Sonos app and can connect through bluetooth. Now, my husband would like to connect via bluetooth from his phone. He is logged in through my Sonos account. Unfortunately, he can connect via bluetooth with his phone ONLY when I am connected first! The moment I upair my device, his phone doesn't see Roam over bluetooth. Is this normal? My husband would like to use it as a regular Bluetooth speaker...Can Roam be connected through bluetooth with another device??? Thank you.
I have two Moves, stereo paired. The left one keeps cutting out for about 1 second (about once every 3 minutes or so, but sometimes it comes in bunches). Has anyone encountered this? Any potential solutions? This happens when on wifi and Airplay either from my iPad or iPhone.
Sonos roam has been a nightmare for us as a custom installer. I chronic issue with not showing up in the app. This device has cost me hundreds of dollars in service calls to our clients. the device is used and plugged in with out ever being removed from the room. And it constantly falls off the app.Frustrating is a nice way to put it. PITA is better. I have this same set up in my own home and have had nothing but problems exactly as my customers have with it falling off the app. We have done the router reset so many times and yes it comes back with in a few days it’s gone again. Sonos seems to have gone down hill since going Public. We are over this product. I will not let customers purchase it with any support from us any longer because of these issues.
Hi there,Longstanding Sonos user having purchased his first ZP90 way back in 2010 ending up shortly thereafter with 3 of them in total before adding what was then called the S5, followed by Play 3, Play 1 and since adding a Move and just last week purchasing a Roam for use mainly as a portable speaker outside of the house.I do recall being disappointed over the S1/S2 split and furore that surrounded it but I have mostly been satisfied with my Sonos despite losing some features over the years. My system is obviously held at S1 level as it would cost in excess of £2,300 to upgrade to S2 and as I don’t have that kind of disposable income these days I have no option but to forego any new features and hold my system as is.Annoying then that the S1 app keeps throwing up a banner at the top of the screen telling me the Sonos S2 app is now available and asking if I want to check compatibility. I’ve lost count of the number ot times I have declined but still the banner pops up - is there any way
Hi!I own a Roam (SL) and love it - although I have come across two frustrating issues:I’ve found that if the Roam is connected via bluetooth to device A, and device B attempts to connect, the Roam disconnects from device A. When entering bluetooth pairing mode, the Roam will connect to any available paired devices, making it tricky to pair new devices.Elaboration on (1):Since I use it with both my phone and PC, this happens a lot when I’m listening to something with my phone, then goes to turn on the PC. The PC attempts to connect via bluetooth, as they are paired, the Roam drops the connection to my phone, which then requires me to reconnect and resume playback. This issue is quite easily reproduced by pairing two devices, connecting with one, then attempting to connect with another. In my opinion, the Roam should refuse bluetooth connection requests when another device is connected. Elaboration on (2):An issue with my PC sometimes requires me to remove and re-pair bluetooth speakers -
Hi, we have some problems connecting our Sonos move with the application. They are not able to connect together even if you are really closed to the wi-fi…Someone experienced it too?!
We’ve had a Sonos One for a while and we use an Apple Ipod Touch to run it. For some reason recently Apple Music has come uncoupled from the Sonos app, so while we can play music on the Ipod, we cant play it on the Sonos. The Sonos app seems to think the Apple Music account needs the subscription refreshed. This is paid up, so not the issue. It seems that the Sonos app cant be updated anymore on the Ipod which also means we are not able te re-authorise the account or even remove it. It would be very disappointing if the Sonos app and therefore the Sonos won’t work because the app is outdated and we are not able to relink the Apple Music account.
Hi guys,I bought a Roam SL early into my trip here in NYC. I have one back in Australia and know that I need to do the initial setup through WiFi so that I can then use it as a bluetooth speaker for the rest of the journey. I have tried using the hotel WiFi to get it working, but no joy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I honestly do not understand what is wrong with my Roam. I have a pair of Play 1 speakers and a Connect:Amp, and none of them have the problems that the Roam has. The Roam is constantly falling off of the network. It disappears for weeks at a time, then returns and says it is off-line. How does the system know it’s there if it’s offline? A power cycle on the Roam and a reboot of the router help briefly, but then the problem returns -- the Roam has roamed away somewhere. I get that 2.4 GHz signal interruption and constrained bandwidth may cause connectivity glitches, but neither the Play speakers nor the Connect Amp have a problem adjusting to this. I have moved the Roam to the same room as the router, and it doesn't help. Also, I have not changed any router settings. It is seriously frustrating and infuriating to be forced to diagnose this problem every time I want to use the Roam. Other Sonos products just work, and work well, which is one reason I opted for the Roam as my third Sonos
My situation:I bought a Roam to replace my Echo Dot (2nd gen) & Oontz Angle 3 setup. 1st problem: Alexa doesn’t work on Sonos in my country. This incredibly pissed me off, as that’s why I bought it. Alexa is mentioned on every add for the Roam in the Czech Republic, and nowhere (other than this group) is it mentioned that it doesn’t work. It turns out that Sonos knows this, but doesn’t bother to tell prospective customers. So now I trust Sonos about as much as a used car salesman.2nd problem: The speaker sounds amazing, so I decide to just pair it with my Echo dot. It works fine at first, but after a day or two, music starts skipping. After deleting the dormant bluetooth pairings on the Echo dot, this was fixed.3rd problem: The Roam randomly drops the BT connection. (I have them almost next to each other). So now I have to constantly go into the app to reconnect them. Side note: 2 years with the Oontz, and probably did that three times total.4th problem: I’m getting fed up with my
After connecting to Bluetooth (color turned solid blue) to my LG TV, my Sonos takes a good 5mins before the audio starts on it. Sometimes it doesn’t start at all. Volume and everything are on high on the TV and also on the Roam. My Bose revolve used to connect instantly and start playing the audio.Edit: Also, on the Sonos foam screen in the s2 app, it says no music selected Mod Edit: Combined posts so topic is still “in need of reply”.
