Has there been any talk of extending the firmware capabilities to allow for the “Move 2” speakers to be paired and used in a surround sound set up?
Hi.I have multiple Sonos speakers all on my home wifi. I am taking a trip soon and will take my Roam speaker with me. I have a travel router I am also taking with me. I would like to add the travel router wifi to my existing Sonos account and simply direct the roam speaker to that router when I reach my destination. When I return home I want to simply switch Roam back to the home wifi from the travel router wifi. My question - is this possible or can Sonos only be connected to one wifi? Currently it seems I have to reset the Roam anytime I want to use a different wifi account. I don’t want to set up a separate Sonos account - I just want the ability to “switch” which wifi the speaker is connected to easily. Can anyone help a gal out? Thanks!
Hi, when are you launching headphones, EarPods etc… ?
When I am using my Sonos Roam with WiFi/S2 app there is no problems turning up the volume. But when I switch to Bluetooth mode, I can not play loud music. When I allow the volume to 100% in the app, and turn the volume up on my phone, the music isn't loud at all. The max volume on WiFi, and the max volume on bluetooth should be the same loudness....I hope.???Can anyone help?
I have connected a new Roam to my system. I her no sound from it whatsoever. There is connection because I can use the roam to pause and play. I have also tried to connect with bluetooth instead, but it was still silent. Anyone with any ideas?
My roam is connected to the wireless charger but shows no signs of life.
I’m so disappointed.I had my somos connect amp, and sonos play1, and just bought the sonos move 2 hoping to listen all of them at the same time but I can’t.so … be aware…. Because if you buy a sonos move 2 for example, then in 2 or 3 years sonos release a new update and you won’t be able to use your sonos move 2 with the new update and you will have to buy a new product? What a shame…I just want to use my “old” sonos devices with my new sonos move 2 simultaneously….I hope I can returned it right away….
HiHere is my diagnosis number **************I have stuttering issues since I have connected my Sonos Move to my setup.I am connect wirelessly with my Playbar, Play3, Move. I have this mostly when I connect with my PC that is connected to my Sonos connect Gen2.What could be the issue. The sonos move is sitting right next to my sonos connect and the connect itself is 3m away for my exposed Wifi router.Internet connection is stable.I would love to hear your feedback on this.ThanksModerator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct - diagnostic number removed as identifying information
It's been a week since we could use our Roam. The mute button is stuck on solid green.

Hiya! This is gonna be one heck of a first post for this forum. I’ve had a Sonos Roam for a while now, and I love the thing. Really, I do, or at least I did… then I started worrying. I had to RMA my first unit the year I got it, because the battery health had worn down so far during its usage cycle that it refused to start up anymore. For reference, this is what I experienced: The Roam refused to respond to the power/bluetooth sync button, media buttons, or microphone button. The Roam’s lights would not turn on, and the speaker would not connect to the local network. The speaker would let the power light fade on, sit a moment, then abruptly shut off entirely when at rest on its wireless charging pad. The speaker would not respond to the support rep’s “plug it in and leave it overnight” troubleshooting step. Later on in the day, I found that often times, the Roam and other battery-powered Sonos products relied on their batteries for things like keeping the internal clock running. When m
How do I connect a Marantz M-CR611 to Sonos Roam?
Hey everyone I have an issue with my Sonos Move 2 speakerAs said in the title, my left tweeter suddenly stopped working. I tested via audio sample with distinct left/right channel changes, confirmed it myself laterSpeaker is currently running latest updateSystem version - 16.1.1 (build 78152020)Sonos OS - S2Even though you can’t hear it much due to main speaker being still in tact, tbh I’m devastated, I only bought it in FebruaryAnother problem is that I bought it abroad, there are no official Sonos representatives in Georgia, so I have no idea where can I go for potential repairsMy questions to community:Have anyone experienced the same issue? If so, did you fix it? How can I 100% confirm that this is a hardware issue?
Hello, I have a new Sonos Move 2 Olive. I am happy with my purchase but I cannot get the 24 hour battery life. If I take the Move out of the charging dock, stream WiFi-radio true TuneIn and set the volume between 5 and 10, my Move 2 doesn't last much longer than 6 hours, 8 hours at most. What playback conditions is the 24 hour playtime based on? Greetings, Wim
Everything I have read on this forum, and in the Sonos docs, led me to believe that I could add a Roam to my existing S1 system, albeit with limitations around sperate apps etc. This setup would not be a problem for me as the Roam would be used primarily in the garden. To setup the Roam i unplugged all the S1 kit and then installed the S2 app. On the S2 app, i got the Roam up and running with my music services. I then set it up on my tablet, and other devices. Everything looked good. However, when the S1 kit was turned back on, the S2 app stopped working. The S2 compatible devices had somehow automatically upgraded and were no longer in the S1 app. Now, both the S1 and S2 systems were broken. I then had to spent the next few hours factory resetting and 'downgrading' back to S1.Over the weekend I tried to get help from Sonos support, but after 3 chat sessions were disconnected mid session, I gave up.This evening I tried again, and this time spent 1hr 40mins on a chat session. The followin
I've had my Sonos Move for about a year and a half now and about a week ago it suddenly stopped responding completely.I've tried to hold in the power button for thirty seconds on and off of the charge ring, the Move does absolutely nothing, no LEDs light up even briefly. I've tried the same with the Bluetooth button and connect button, same result.I've removed it from charge for 4 days to drain the battery, still nothing.I've charged it over night using the charge ring, still nothing.I've charged it over night using a USB-C connection, still nothing.I've removed the battery and reinserted it as some threads have suggested, still nothing.I've tried to take readings with a multimeter on the battery and charge ring but can't seem to get any readings. (I'm not sure I'm testing them correctly. If anyone has any advise on how to test either I would appreciate it.)I don’t know what else to do.We stay in South Africa, about 180kms from Port Elizabeth and to my knowledge there isn’t a Sonos out
Just about had it with Sonos to be quite frank, issue after issue after issue.. the new one is that my Move (which has worked perfectly with other speakers) has decided now that it no longer likes working with the other speakers on my network. It’ll show as if it’s playing on the app but nothing is happening. If I start playing music on one speaker and then add it to the group the track will stop, then start again on the move but no longer on the original speaker. Likewise if I start on the move and group another speaker it’ll stop playing altogether and start again on the new speaker. I’ve rebooted the speaker I’ve reset my router I’ve unplugged the Ethernet from one of my speakers so that they’re all connecting via WiFi It’s not a distance issue as the router and move are fairly close.. any suggestions.. as I say, pretty fed up with this now. I just want the system to work as it should.
Hello! I got Sonos Roam 2 months ago. I connected it to my Sonos system at home, integrated with Google home and Google assistant. Worked just fine. Now I took it with myself for Easter family reunion. I wanted to listen to music via Bluetooth but the speaker cannot switch to Bluetooth at all. When pressing the powet bottom for 2 seconds I get the chime but the led is still white, also my phone, nor anyones phone nor even PC, finds it. I thought that maybe I somehow factory reset it, but when trying to connect it to my app via wifi It gets connected by after that it says I need to register it, and to do so I must factory reset it. I tried holding power for 15 secs, keeping away from charger and turning off and on. Nothing helps. How do I make it switch to Bluetooth? Sawpel
I recently had a frustrating experience with my SONOS Roam. I took it travelling, and by mistake, when trying to turn it off, I reset it. I was not on my home network and in a hotel, and there was no way to initialize it again. I looked on help forums, and they all talked about using two devices and connecting to one device and hotspotting to another. I tried this at length (and I am comfortable with troubleshooting), and NOTHING worked. The fact that I have a Bluetooth speaker that cannot be set up and used solely as a Bluetooth speaker is so frustrating. Why not have a setting where, out of the box, you can use it on Bluetooth alone -- I am now carrying around a paperweight, and I can do nothing until I am back at home. Please HELP!
I’m so frustrated to even be writing this, I’ve probably spent 40+ hours troubleshooting my Sonos Move speaker which I got several years ago. Of course, the problems are presented when trying to get the speaker to connect to other Sonos speakers-- the entire point of owning multiple Sonos items :) It’s not my network, the app is updated, the speaker is updated, and I’ve factory reset it maybe 10 times now, since that’s the default fix that every Sonos Customer Service representative suggests. If only resetting the speaker would magically fix its fatal connectivity flaw! After giving up on Wifi connectivity, I plugged one of my Sonos One speakers into an ethernet cord to my modem to create their own special Sonos network. The Sonos One and Sonos SL stay constantly connected now, but the Move speaker drops from the app multiple times a day and becomes unusable. Then I’ll come home later and it’s magically back under available speakers in my app. Funny, right? It’s really unfortunate to p
As stated, a really annoying bug occurs constantly when rebooting my system. As the PC shuts down and reboots, I can hear the disconnect and connect chimes from the Move 2. However, no sound (YouTube videos, VLC music, games etc.) can be heard after logging into the windows account. Under windows sound settings, I can see that sound is being transmitted. Notably, the same behaviour does NOT occur if I hibernate the PC, instead of full shutdown/reboot. When I hibernate the PC, again I can hear the disconnect and reconnect chimes from Move 2 and the speaker works as expected. There are only two ways that I have found to fix this:1) Disconnect and remove the Move 2 from the system vie Windows Bluetooth settings and then repair the speaker with the windows PC.2) When the speaker is connected to the PC, go to Settings → Bluetooth&devices → Devices → More devices and printer settings → Move 2 (SONOS 4AC4) → properties → Services and un-tick all Bluetooth services (audio sink, iAP2 Server,
Hi allWell, this surprised me. I was working in the garden today with my Roam, and I have two Ubiquti Unifi access points in the garden. Music at the top of the garden was great; music at the bottom of the garden was great too. But walking between top and bottom, and therefore transitioning between the two APs, resulted in about 12 seconds with no music.I have excellent coverage across the whole garden, and I was able to run a continuous “ping” from my phone when I was investigating, so it’s not a coverage issue.I must admit, I was very surprised. Of all the gadgets and toys that we have in the house, I’ve never had a single one that couldn’t cope with changing AP. Until now.Am I alone? Thanks Jim
Recently got a new home wifi (T-Mobile home) and I’ve gotten all of my Sonos speakers to work with it. All except my Move. It won’t find the new network and the app (iPhone and MacBook) can “see” it but they believe it’s “powered off” even while the Move is on and sitting on the charging ring. I can’t get it to turn to reset mode and can’t even get my system to delete it so that I can re-add it. Thanks for any help!
When I open the app, my Move speakers turn on (light on top of the unit comes on). How do I turn the speakers off with the app?
