Firmware to achieve 5.1 surround with "Move 2" speakers?

Has there been any talk of extending the firmware capabilities to allow for the “Move 2” speakers to be paired and used in a surround sound set up?

It's been requested since the original Move, and has never been implemented.  I wouldn't count on it coming in the future.

    Yeah I figured as much - I just know that they’re releasing the new web app on May 7th and was curious if they’re going to add firmware functionality to anything. I feel like the hardware is plenty capable for setting up with the ARC for surround sound… my wife would LOVE not having cords anywhere with the ability to pick a couple of speakers up and achieve surround sound while not having them dedicated 100% of the time…

    Sigh...

    From what I understand, the new ‘app’ on May 7 is only a UI change, and has nothing to do with changes in functionality.
