Have a Playbar and 2x Play:1 set up for surround sound system. Has been working fine for years but about 2 months ago it stopped working. Everything is set up as it's own room but not connected to each other. When I try to  "set up surrounds" it says there is an update needed. I press update, then it scans for updates, then the update screen just dissappears. This is just keeps happening. Have been onto Sonos support chat and on phone and they haven't a clue how to fix it. Not great.

I’ve been trying to solve this problem for my in-laws for a few weeks, and I’m making no progress.They have a Sonos Beam connected to a TCL 735 (Google) TV via HDMI/eARC. My father-in-law has Oticon hearing aids, and there is an Optical cable running from the TV to an Oticon “Box”. The hearing aids connect to the Oticon Box via Bluetooth.I cannot get sound to output to BOTH the Beam and the Oticon box (the hearing aids are connected) so that they can watch TV at the same time. I bought an “HDMI eARC (CEC) audio extractor" but that’s not working either - sound DOES come out through the hearing aids, but nothing through the Beam soundbar. At a guess, Sonos is fussy/strict over the kind of signal it receives and doesn’t “trust” it from the audio extractor. The TV sound option is set to “ARC”. There is an Optical option too. Can anyone offer any advice on this topic? I am looking to connect two pairs of Era 300's to my Arc Ultra & Sub 4 for a complete 5.1 surround sound , is this even possible??? 

Alright folks. I’m new to the Sonos universe and have some equipment setup questions.  I have a 82 inch Samsung QLEs TV, Apple TV 4K, (2) Sonos Amps and (4) Sonance 8” in wall architectural speakers (2 fronts/2 rears). Sonos sub is on its way…I also have a Eufy camera system that is POE. Everything is wired to a router in a closet approximately 6 feet away. (Amps are hardwired to the router with the WiFi turned off)I’ve tried to set the system up but couldn’t get audio coming to the in walls without either airplay from my phone or directing the audio from the Apple TV to the speakers by selecting it from the audio setting in the device (when this is done I cannot control the speaker volume from the Apple Remote and have to go through the Sonos app to control the volume). I’ve turned the anynet+ off/on, unplugged components and self help topics from this forum. I had one of the amps wired to eARC and still had no luck. I ended up going to BestBuy and purchased a Rocketfish - 2-Output HD

Every time there’s a power outage my Sonos Arc does not play any sound with my Sony Bravia TV.It says it’s connected and “Audio System active” but I cannot hear anything from the Sonos Arc.I have tried disconnecting, restarting the TV and Sonos Arc, unplugging its power but nothing seems to fix the issue.Help?

Just wanted to share some useful information. I found a post in this community suggesting a HDMI ARC Audio Extractor made by Tohilkel and sold on Amazon. I had tried everything up to that point and I’m a HT technician for Geek Squad. It worked like a charm. Sound immediately started playing as soon as I plugged it in with zero issues. Idk about other TVs but this TV in particular definitely works. More than likely it will work on other TVs, especially other Samsung TVs. Ordered 2 for the 2 of the same model TV listed above. Hi, I have a Samsung QE65S95FATXZT connected to a Sonos Arc through HDMI port #3 (ARC/eARC).When I use the native Disney+ app on the Samsung TV to play Dolby Atmos content, the Sonos app only shows “Multichannel PCM 5.1” instead of Dolby Atmos.TV Settings:Audio Out → Auto Anynet+ →  Active Dolby Atmos → Active HDMI eArc → Sonos ArcCould you please help me?Both Sonos and Samsung support keep blaming each other.

Hi folks. I'm new to Sonos and by turn the community. I have a Beam gen 2 and mini sub. The speech enhancement keeps switching off. I've read a community thread from a year ago discussing the same issue with the Arc ultra. That didn't appear to have been remedied. Has anyone got any further info/ideas about how to fix this.  TIA.  Jay. 

I am totally lost, I have two surround systems that are working fine. Surround 1 is with an Arc ultra and ceiling speakers with AMP and surround 2 system is with a ARC and ceiling speakers with AMP.After rewiring one set of speakers to the surround 2 system it still worked fine. Now out of the blue I have no more surround sound. The speakers by itself make sounds but as soon as I add them as surround they are gone.I have been through the complete forum and tried it all. Factory reset, music level to 15, music from Ambient to Full.I think I reconnected the AMP like 20 times now but still nothing. What puzzles me is that it worked fine and now it doesn't.Honestly, I have no clue what to do next, what am I missing here… Been working on it for hours now and just have no idea what is going on. Hi,I did several tests but I can’t getting rid of an issue. My setup:beam2 + two ERA300 as surrond in one room 2 symfonisks placed in other rooms  amp connected to a turntable and a wired speakers in another roomIf I group music (Apple music, turntable…) everything sounds great. If I group the tv audio from the home theatre (beams2+eras) to any other room, audio comes out from the home theatre alone. From the app point of view the groped rooms are fine, I can adjust volumes etc, but audio don’t comes out.  Any suggestion? 

Need some advice currently replacing my soundbar with 4 inputs to the Sonos arc, problem is i only  currently run one hdmi to TV and because that's in the wall i didn't want to run any more externally.Is it possible to connect Xbox/ firestick and sky box to a switch box and then one cable to the Arc?Any help would be grateful

Hi everyone, I currently have 2× Era 300 and use them mainly for music. Now I’m planning to add a Sonos Arc + Sub, and move the Eras behind the couch as surrounds. I also have a turntable connected, and I don’t want to listen to music primarily through the Arc — I’d like to keep music playback just on the Era 300 stereo pair, but when I play movies through Apple TV, I want the full setup (Arc + Sub + Era). 👉 Question:How can I set it up so that, for example, when I play something on Spotify it only plays through the Era 300, but when I start a movie it plays through the full system?

I have a Samsung TV - model number UE 50 MU6120 - I’ve had the beam connected to this for a number of years. It’s recently lost connection between the TV and the speaker - I’ve tried resetting the unit and running through the set up process again I get one of three errors I) “ARC connection not working” or ii ) “devices on the network are interfering with the ARC connection” or iii) “switch on ARC mode” when I try to set the expert settings - there’s nothing available saying ‘ARC’ or ‘CEC’ mode. The best I have is ‘HDMI input audio format’ saying whether you want to have it as ‘PCM’ or ‘bitstream’. Neither options work I’ve disconnected all other devices connected to the TV (removed the Roku stick, unplugged the DVD player) and removed all external device connections from the TV. Important to note that the WiFi connection is via a WiFi extender. This was working previously. The TV and Sonos system are both connected to the WiFi extender network. I’ve yet to try going into the admin set

Good morning, Just purchased the e Sony Bravia 8 Model XR-65A80K.  I have a pre-existing SONOS Arc, Sub Woofer and 2 ONE-SL.  The ARC is attached to the SONY TV via the audio Fiber port.  The  4 HDMI ports have connected: Cable TV provider set top box; Apple TV 4K; HP Google Chrome box; and Sony 4K disc player.  The remote for the Cable TV set top box is able to change the audio volume of the SONOS ARC. The Cable TV set top box is a Xi6-T Model TX061AE1. The issue I’m experiencing is the SONY TV’S remote and the Apple TV’s remote is not able to control the SONOS Arc’s audio volume.  The TV responds with “Adjust Volume on Audio System”.  With 4 HDMI connected device, I would prefer to use the Fibre Audio port for SONOS connectivity.  I have tried contacting SONY Support.  They telephone IVR system keeps hanging up the call before getting to a Tech Support Agent.  Chat was not very helpful.  Thoughts?

Hi, I hope everyone is doing well.  I am enjoying my new Sonos home theater system   I have a Samsung flatscreen connected to my Apple TV. I have the HDMI going directly to the Samsung.  Is this the best way to set it up?  Or should I be connected directly to the Apple TV? I’ve noticed that most of the sound coming is Dolby digital        Thank you for your reply

Hello.I recently purchased some Era 100 speakers to connect to my Sonos Arc.The room is large, and I use them for both movies and music.I've read that for the most immersive sound, the best position is B, but that would be detrimental if I'm watching TV or listening to music at the table.What setup do you recommend to immerse myself in movies and listen to music from across the room?Thanks in advance.

Ok, stoked but as techie w.ADD Sonos put me through a really enjoyable wringer. i work in IT Support for fiber, but I know I’m smart enough to know cocky vs. practical, I know a lot about a little and that’s the truth: please help as I’ve lupus, I love music , I need easy access to play consistent soundstage , stereo era100s w.Sub Mini is great.  not as much now with beam gen2, though as surrounds and sub to push the beam , movie pops like it’s amazing, crack the whip good audio.(on eBay official, btw eBay Sonos store purchasing  is smartest. You get a 2yr warranty plus if you’re patient, awesome savings ie. Brief august coupon,  had era @ $120, factory refurbished is usually smarter than new . If you know, you know..Anyway; sorry ADD again.… context is When sub mini was added, I loved  the music soundstage . As 2.1  please help as I’m used to music using stereo + sub, the L+R , is this lost since bought  Beam Gen2 now,? ie. Downgraded atmos or DD+ vs. automatic separation and beam

We have a really awkward room set-up. Is there a system with 3 surround speaker to put on each corner of the sofa (with a sound bar under the TV and a Subwoofer we can put anywhere)?Or do you have another suggestion? Ps The roof of the extension is vaulted (not a flat roof). See below a sketch:   

For four years since I installed the Arc and Sub, I have controlled the volume of the Arc with the Cox remote control, and the volume of the TV speakers never changed, always muted. This morning the TV volume started changing when the remote was used to adjust the Arc (home theatre) volume. I have no idea what may have changed.Even more frustrating and confusing is the TV speakers do not always change. The volume changes sometimes, not every time.The ARC is connected to the TV via the ARC output.Any ideas?
