Hi! I recently bought two Era 300s, upgrading from my Sonos Ones. I paired them with my Sonos Arc and Sub Gen 3. I was really excited to test them together with my system. I played a Dolby Atmos track through Apple Music, and while it sounded good, it honestly wasn’t anything special. This really surprised me considering the huge size difference between the Ones and the Era 300s. I’m an experienced Sonos user, and I’ve always believed that most issues people have with their setups are self-inflicted until today. When I listened closely to my Eras, I noticed that only the side and top speakers were producing sound, while the front and rear drivers were completely silent. I started testing different settings, adjusting the TV and music levels, switching between full playback modes, and even removing Trueplay calibration, which actually made the upward-firing speakers louder. Hi, I have a Sony KD-AG965 I bought a Sonos Arc Ultra today. It will not connect to the tv no matter what I try, I have done all the trouble shooting things I can find online. Full reset, power cycles of both, HDMI cable change, Bravia Sync off and power off etc. The tv know there is something connected to HDMI eARC but then I go to set up it can’t play a sound nor will the app detect a CEC connection. Just says CEC not connected.Anyone had these issues?my next options are to try the bar on another TV and another bar on my TV.

Hi All,I fear there is no solution to this but I’m hoping someone has a good idea. I have a playbar with a connected sub and surround speakers. No matter what I try… the Nintendo Switch 2 will only output to stereo which is super disappointing. I’ve tried to set the tv to passthrough the audio signal but no luck there. Screenshot below of the petulant screen displayed by the Nintendo. Appreciate an old soundbar but it’s been solid for a decade and works great with the PS5!  

Arc keeps beeping on and off and loses sound on various channels but not all

Hello. A few months ago I bought a Sonos Arc Ultra, 2 Era 300s and two Sub 4s. It's working on an 85" TCL TV connected to an Apple TV 4K. The audio quality is spectacular. However, I'm having two problems:When I leave the system off for 10 minutes, when I turn it back on, the sound takes about 5 seconds to be heard. It's as if the amplifiers are turned off and only turn on after receiving a signal via HDMI.The other problem is the lack of volume under certain conditions. I've done extensive research online, and absolutely everything in the TV and Apple TV setup is in line with what's needed to get the best results. I've also tried TruePlay in various ways. Few content can be heard satisfactorily in terms of volume without using at least 70%.For comparison, I also have a Bose 600 + 5" subwoofer, and the volume of both systems is very similar, perhaps a little louder with the Bose.I've tried using the Apple TV output only, but the volume results are the same. We have just bought a Sonos Arc that we have connected to our Sony TV via the HDMI Arc port using the cable that came with the Sonos. We have a Sky Q box connected to the TV via another HDMI port. The sound settings on the Sky Q are set to Dolby Digital Plus. We’re impressed with the sound quality.However, we can’t hear any sound from certain channels, including the YouTube App. We also get no sound from YouTube if we connect to it directly from the TV rather than via Sky Q. I’m presuming this is because those channels that are ‘silent’ are not broadcasting in HD? If we set the Sky Q sound setting to Normal we can’t hear any sound at all through the soundbar on any TV channel.Any ideas?Thanks

My setup is for TV surround sound. A SONOS Play Base connected to a TV, via optical cable with a SONOS Sub and two SONOS Play 5s and all was working fine until my TV broke.I bought a new Samsung TV (Samsung QLED QEF1 4K), but it doesn't support optical output. Most of the new TVs available don't seem to support optical output, and I know the SONOS Play Base only accepts optical input.The TV has HDMI ARC, so I tried to find a solution - HDMI ARC output from TV to Optical input to Play Base, with a converter of some sort. When I contacted SONOS support, they told me no such solution exists and to buy either a new, different TV or a new SONOS sound bar product.ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS PLEASE??Yes I know there is a  Optical Audio Adapter | Sonos : from SONOS, but this only does Optical to HDMI ARC, not the other way around.Thanks for any help - Stephen 

have a monitor asb-2 soundbar that is now more than 10 years old. i also have a Panasonic 65" EZ952 OLED 4K UHD TV that was bought in 2018. i also have a Sonos Z80, Youview box, Sony DVD player and Roku box. everything is connected to the ASB via HDMI and the soundbar is connected to the TV through ARC. The Sonos Z80 is connected to the soundbar via an optical cable.i’m considering upgrading my soundbar to the new Sonos Arc Ultra. however it seems there is only 1 HDMI port on the Sonos and the TV only has an older version of ARC and not eARC. it seems that very few soundbars have HDMI ports either.what is the best way to configure the system if i use the Arc ultra (which doesn’t have HDMI pass through either).

was playing a playlist streaming from apple music on ARC+Surroundsuddenly it all went silentthe app showed it was playing, but nothing was heardexited the app - started backi now saw the ARC was not listed (all other speakers listed)suddenly after 20'ish seconds the ARC showed again, but playlist wiped - i assume it restarted but I had not seen any blinking lights on the ARC. Submitted diagnostic **********Logged in to Sonos webiste and see there it say my account was created today, which is far from reality. Sonos, what’s going on?This has happened twice in 3 weeks. I have a Sonos Arc.  When I took the soundbar out of the box after purchase the set up when fine.  Everything worked including all controls.  Since then the EQ has stopped working and also the loudness selection.  The speech enhancer works just fine.  You can use the sliders for bass and treble but it has no effect on the sound.  I tried a factory reset and reboots of the internet connection plus reinstalled the app but these controls still will not work and have no effect on the audio.  All updates have been done.  I am very disappointed and am afraid that this problem will keep me from buying anymore Sonos products or giving a good recommendation if asked.

I have recently wall mounted by Sonos Beam Gen 1 to the wall underneath my wall mounted tv. up until that point the beam was working perfectly with the tv volume. Now the tv volume won’t play through the beam, air play works fine through the beam. The beam is taking control of the tv as it usually does because it has disabled the tv speakers as it usually does but no tv sound is coming though the speakers, I’ve cross checked everything, switched off the Beam, reset my WiFi hub. went into the Sonos app and tried the TV connection and it says ino connection to TV but the beam is connected properly?? Can anyone help? Hello, as you seen in the title problem I have too much power in my opinion becoming from my system (A Ray, 2x Era 100 and a Sub Mini), I was watching a movie when I found out that sounds very good (quality and volumes) in 5.1 and without having Dolby Atmos well also, but then I was curious about this and while I was investigating about it I played some music from my PS5 connected to my LG TV and finally to the Ray by the optical cable but with 30% of volume (real 60% but I have the limit on Sonos app to max 50% of volume, so) and I was shocked about the high volume by only the Ray (the signal was in Dolby Digital 5.1 but Spotify tracks are in stereo so the surround speakers doesn't do anything (is normal because was dd 5.1 not pcm stereo or dd2.0) and the volume was very high in my opinion and after with my phone I installed several apps of sonometers and all the apps said that were between 82 - 85 dB at 2 meters from the Ray, I know that these apps aren't accurate at all but the max

I moved into a new house and ordered four Sony TVs and three Arc Ultras and one Beam. One set up (Sony + Arc Ultra) works seamlessly.  I can turn the TV on and the television’s audio routes through the Arc Ultra. Or I can switch over to the Sonos App and stream music to that Arc Ultra. I can switch back and forth with no issues. Simply works as one would want. The other three however require adjustment each and every time. When I turn the TV on I have to flip the audio output in the TVs menu from audio system to TV speakers and then back to audio system to get the television’s audio to route through the arc ultra (or the beam).  I checked the settings to ensure they’re consistent in both the Sonos app, as well as in the television audio menu system. anAny advice, please?

Just curious to hear if folks here use Trueplay or turn it off?Every situation is different for every room, every person’s ears. But for me, I’ve come to turn Trueplay off as it seems be hindrance to sound quality than tuning and keeping it. Night and day difference. I might change mind later. But sounds more detailed and full with no Trueplay for me.Anyone else find the sound much better with or without Trueplay? 

I have connected my beam gen 2 and my 2 era 100s to my Hisense tv, the hdmi is connected to the correct arc connection, the picture is fine for a while then goes off it’s very pixelated then freezes, when I switch the Sonos products off the sound works fine through the tv, I have tried different hdmi cables and the problems still there

Hi everyone I struggle with some content.the audio file is doldby digital + 5.1 and the app is showing dolby atmos which is not.it cause some issue (cutouts every minute mostly)my settings on my nvidia shield and lg cx is everything passthrough even on my KODIwhen I switch to lpcm (not passthrough) there is no issue.also when I read true atmos files there is no issue as well. Sonos arc sub gen 3 and one sl rearslg cx 65nvidia shield pro any idea ? thanks !

Hi, I bought a home with 3 Sonos Connect:Apps powering 3 zones with built-in speakers. All fine there. There’s also a Sonos Connect and wires for 4 built-in ceiling speakers labeled right/left Middle and right/left Rear that are meant for the tv.I’d like to have 5.1 sound from the tv (Center, right/left Middle, right/left Rear, Bass) and I’d like the ceiling speakers to link to my Sonos home system to play music as the other zones do.I’m not sure what’s needed.A Sonos App would power the speakers, but not as both Middle and Rear (two zones need two Apps, right?), and I’d still need to do something about a Center speaker or bar. Expensive to have 2 or 3 Apps just to get 5.1 sound from the tv.Or perhaps a receiver to run all the speakers, but then not sure how to connect to Sonos and have the tv ceiling speakers join the other Sonos zones to play music simultaneously. 

I’ve had this problem for a couple months now and been in contact with Sony about it.Every time I turn on my TV I get a message in the bottom of the screen saying “TV speakers active due to a audio system communication error”. It started appearing after updating both my TV and Sonos Arc so it’s hard to say which is causing the issue.Sound is still coming from the Arc but sometimes I have to manually change audio source from “TV speakers” to “Audio system” but it’s rare.Do anyone else have this problem?

Hello  Looking to fit Sonos home theatre surround sound in my new extension. Only choice I’ve got is to use ceiling speakers with the sub and arc. It’s 5x7m with a vaulted ceiling. Would you go for four 6inch or two 8inch speakers guys? 

Hi,I’ve seen this question has been asked couple of times but didn’t find any answer which would resolve the issue.My current setup is quite old Sony Bravia KD55XD8005 with ARC port, Sky Q 2TB UHD box and Arc Ultra.Sometimes when I change channels on Sky or starting a movie, sound would drop and I need to switch back, or hit pause/resume, or unplug/plug HDMI cable to get the sound back.I notice this happens when audio output is changing as some channels are with Dolby Digital 5.1, some are Dolby Digital 2.0 and most movies are Dolby Atmos. I’ve been speaking and Sonos support and they suggest to replace both HDMI cables (from Sky to TV and from TV to Arc Ultra) but I don’t think this is the issue because I’m using original cables and as I said, it only happens when audio output is changing.It's also worth mentioning that I had same setup with Sonos Arc (before upgrading to Arc Ultra) and didn’t have any issues with it. So I’m thinking it’s something to do with Arc Ultra rather than cab

I don’t have a TV. I’ve bought a Sonos arc ultra, gen 4 sub and era300. I have a FeinTech VAX04101A hdmi switch to connect fire stick, Blu-ray player and ps5 to Sonos arc ultra and projector. Projector only has normal hdmi and not eARC but Sonos app wants eARC output from source which I don’t have. Does that mean I can’t connect my sources to Sonos? I need it to work with hdmi not eARC hdmi, is that impossible?
