None of my Speakers are pairing with TV

What can be wrong with my speakers and pairing?  They will not pair with my TV. I’ve been able to pair with my phone but not my TV.

It was working fine then we had problems with the TV and Xfinity reset the TV.  I have gone through the process of re-pairing with the WiFi, turning off each speaker and resetting.  Nothing seems to be working.

What am I doing wrong?

No information we can use to help…

What speakers?

Pairing? Bluetooth?

Factory Reset? That only leads to frustration, aside from a few situations (support lists them) it is best avoided.

It’s difficult to figure out what you’re trying to do. The terminology you are using isn’t what we normally use when talking about a TV and a Sonos soundbar. We don’t “pair” a soundbar to the TV.

It would help if you could describe the TV you have, how Sonos is attached to it and what sonos devices you have. That will go a long way to providing someone here something to go on.

First of all your profile only shows one (1) Sonos speaker that CONNECTS natively to a TV via an HDMI cable or optical and that is the Arc.

All other speakers such as surrounds and/or sub are BONDED to the Arc and do not interface directly with your TV. Any sound they play is sent to them via the Arc and not your TV.

Any other Sonos speakers such as the Sonos Era 100 that are not associated with the Arc would only interact with a TV over Bluetooth or a Line-in. Your profile doesn’t indicate that you even own an Era 100. The Sonos One in your profile isn’t cable of a Bluetooth connection to a TV.

So if you are referring to the Arc and surrounds not interfacing with your TV then the problem lies between the TV and the Arc.

Who setup your system for you. No offense intended but Judging from your post and the inaccuracy of the terms you are using it appears there was someone else involved during initial setup. My apologies if I’m mistaken; but either way we need much clearer information in order to assist.

Why was XFINITY consulted? Were you having WiFi issues?

Let me see if I can be more specific.

My Sonos Speakers ( I do have a Beam and 4 Era 100 speakers regardless of what the site says).  I did have some issues with Xfinity and when the TV was reset, we lost all connection to Sonos through the app (on my phone).  My app is showing “no content” for all of my speakers.

I know the speakers work because I can play spotify on them. However, I no longer can hear the TV through any of the speakers.

If you need more information or something clearer, please let me know.

I just re-read one of the posts about the Sonos Beam (I do not own an ARC).  I did change the HDMI cable connection. I’ll work with that to see if that might be the problem.

Until I got rid of my older (HDMI 1.2 or earlier) cables, I certainly ran into difficulties with Arc working properly. Now I try to stick to the newer cables (HDMI 2.x), because their wires are connected so that the cable can carry the necessary signal. I also tend to use Sonos supplied cables these days, with my soundbars, I’m certain they work. And I no longer need ‘longer’ cables, either.

This is from your profile here, you should update it to be accurate.

Sonos Arc

Sonos One

Favorite artist/band Maroon 5

Can you add content to your speakers from the app? Individual tracks, Playlist or station?

The TV changes shouldn't have impacted your streaming connections.

Thank you.  I’ll do that.  I wonder why it wasn’t updated when I purchased the speakers?

Refrain from Factry Reset of any SONOS components without further consult because this creates extra work and rarely resolves fundamental issues. That said, have you Factory Reset anything?

No offense intended but you stated...

  • My Sonos Speakers (I do have a Beam and 4 Era 100 speakers regardless of what the site says).

FYI, your profile (the site) only shows what you enter. If you didn’t enter that you have a Beam and 4 Era 100’s...well...you see where I’m going with that 😊

Moving on…

Situation 1

  • By chance are you using the Xfinity router/modem in conjunction with your own personal router. If so, you may be broadcasting two Wi-Fi networks (i.e. one your device connects to and the other your Sonos). To resolve the issue of using your own router in conjunction with the Xfinity gear you should place the router side of the Xfinity gear in Bridge mode. However, the question remains which Wi-Fi SSID and Password is being used by Sonos. Ideally the SSID and Pasword would be the same as was used with the Xfinity gear.

Situation 2

  • When you reset the TV the sound output was maybe changed from the eARC HDMI port (to which your Arc is connected to via HDMI cable) to possibly External speakers/Stereo Amplifier

Your account (that only you and Sonos can see) at www.sonos.com updated, but the forum data is self entered.

I do not have my own router so your first premise is not possible.  But i appreciate the idea. Your second premise is a possibility. I will be workng on this.

Thank you for discussing the options.  I'll come back here after I work on this.

If you return here to ask questions, rather than calling Sonos Support to discuss it, you may want to review the Sonos terminology thread. That way, we’ll all be on ‘the same page’ when you use terms such as ‘pairing’.

We usually speak of ‘bonding’ surrounds with a soundbar, but connecting a soundbar to a TV. Two different meanings, in ‘Sonos-speak’. Pairing tends to be reserved for setting up stereo pairs. Edit: or setting up speakers with Bluetooth.
