None of my Speakers are pairing with TV

What can be wrong with my speakers and pairing?  They will not pair with my TV. I’ve been able to pair with my phone but not my TV.

It was working fine then we had problems with the TV and Xfinity reset the TV.  I have gone through the process of re-pairing with the WiFi, turning off each speaker and resetting.  Nothing seems to be working.

What am I doing wrong?

With all of your help,  and Chat GPT, I was able to fix my speakers so they are paired with my Beam. Thank you

Glad you got things fixed. However, the correct term is speakers are“Bonded” to your Beam. 😊

Enjoy your Sonos!

No offense intended but you stated...

  • My Sonos Speakers (I do have a Beam and 4 Era 100 speakers regardless of what the site says).

FYI, your profile (the site) only shows what you enter. If you didn’t enter that you have a Beam and 4 Era 100’s...well...you see where I’m going with that 😊

Moving on…

Situation 1

  • By chance are you using the Xfinity router/modem in conjunction with your own personal router. If so, you may be broadcasting two Wi-Fi networks (i.e. one your device connects to and the other your Sonos). To resolve the issue of using your own router in conjunction with the Xfinity gear you should place the router side of the Xfinity gear in Bridge mode. However, the question remains which Wi-Fi SSID and Password is being used by Sonos. Ideally the SSID and Pasword would be the same as was used with the Xfinity gear.

Situation 2

  • When you reset the TV the sound output was maybe changed from the eARC HDMI port (to which your Arc is connected to via HDMI cable) to possibly External speakers/Stereo Amplifier

Your account (that only you and Sonos can see) at www.sonos.com updated, but the forum data is self entered.

I do not have my own router so your first premise is not possible.  But i appreciate the idea. Your second premise is a possibility. I will be workng on this.

Thank you for discussing the options.  I'll come back here after I work on this.

If you return here to ask questions, rather than calling Sonos Support to discuss it, you may want to review the Sonos terminology thread. That way, we’ll all be on ‘the same page’ when you use terms such as ‘pairing’.

We usually speak of ‘bonding’ surrounds with a soundbar, but connecting a soundbar to a TV. Two different meanings, in ‘Sonos-speak’. Pairing tends to be reserved for setting up stereo pairs. Edit: or setting up speakers with Bluetooth.

I hope there isn’t a next time, but if there is, I’ll be sure to look up the terms before I send a request.  Thanks for all you help.

Tl/dr - Ai complaint.

So many technical terms, used so wrong, by so many has trained AI bots to use the wrong words and confuse things.

Sonos and we users are trying to improve the situation but AI learning from other AI is not helping the situation.

Same with a lot of the other bad advice AI provides, it learns from what it scrapes up with no judgements on quality or correctness, just quantity.
