Hello,I want to try connecting Apple TV Optical Out to Samsung Home theatre HDMI ARC using Sonos Optical Audio Adaptor. Does that work?Any Suggestions or alternatives?

    I have à Sony ag8 oled tv With hdmi ARC, and not eARC. Do Anyone know in my tv can play atmos sound trough Sonos arc trough hdmi arc or is that impossible to me to get atmos sound through the arc? I have a projector which does not have ARC/optical audio output.    I want to connect the beam to the xbox one optical output and then the xbox to the projector.    In setting up the beam it asks to test connection and doesnt work from there. Anyone know if i can connect the Sonos Beam directly to xbox vs TV.

Hi all DIY is not my thing, so might just get a handyman. But before I do, just wondered if anyone knew which fixing method I should use for dot and dab wall on a new build Taylor Wimpey home. It’s dot and dab and/or metal studs.  Some YouTube vids suggest treating dab sections as solid wall and non dab sections as hollow. Does this mean I should or shouldn’t use the anchors provided in the wall mount kit?   help appreciated     

I have a good amount of Sonos equipment now, but I want to upgrade my Playbar to an arc and upgrade my old 1080p tv to a giant projector. Due to my fireplace setup, I need to do a motorized projector screen and need to have any soundbar/center channel behind the screen, and therefore need an acoustically transparent screen. Now, normal speakers would work great behind the screen, but will a Dolby Atmos Sonos Arc? Will that be okay? Due to the somewhat high height of the mantel (5ft high in a 9ft room), is it also okay to place the Sonos Arc up that high? Thank you all for your help. p.s. - I know there may be e-arc concerns about this setup, I’m less worried about that for now, my main concern at the moment is the acoustically transparent screen and the placement height.

I have an arc that is connected to the tv via the HDMI to optical adapter being used as front 3 speakers. I have an amp driving wired rear speakers. These are currently synced via the Sonos app (but I haven’t designated the amp as surround speakers). I have a quality wired sub coming back from another house soon that I want to connect to use this all together for tv and music, essentially HT setup. If I’m reading correctly I can’t use the wired connection for the sub on the amp and then use the amp in the way I’ve described without sync/ timing issues. Anyway around this or am I getting this wrong? help appreciated!

Just got my Sonos Arc and sub gen3. The sub connected to my WiFi without a problem. The arc won't connect. I tried Ethernet, reset my router, bought a new Ethernet cord, and even moved everything right next to my router. Still won't connect. Any suggestions on what to do next? Very disappointing after spending so much on these products. Hopefully I can get it to work.  I'm using Android phone for Sonos app. I have a spectrum router. Literally every other thing I have connects to the WiFi without a problem. Only issue is the Sonos Arc. I do have an older 1080p TV.

I purchased a Sonos Beam and found that it had wires to connect to either an ARC HDMI port or an optical digital audio output port on the TV,  My TV has only an audio digital RCA type port and the analog output ports.  Is there any way to connect using these ports - see image - If not, I will return the Beam. 

Is it possible to connect my TV wirelessly to my Beam, my Beam is connected to 2 Sonos Ones also. (Technically I don’t have a TV, my Beam is connected to my laptop but don’t this it makes a difference. To connect the beam to my laptop I use the optical adapter connected to an external soundcard and into my laptop, works great but looking to take it wireless)

I’m completely new to Sonos. Have the Arc + Sub (gen 3) coming whenever it’s off backorder.  I’m also interested in upgrading my Bluetooth speaker to the Move. I know when watching movies I wouldn’t be able to pair the Arc & Move…. but if having parties and want the Move outdoors, could I stream the same music through both simultaneously for inside and out? 

Hello;  I just purchased  Sonos playbar.I am trying to connect it to my Sony Bravia Smart TV without using optical cable. I would like using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth instead. Is it possible? There is no option on th app that could let you pair a device via WiFi or Bluetooth. Any thoughts? Thank you

I have a Family room open to a dining room and kitchen.   The only place where people will view the TV is the Family room (see picture).   When I walk around with the Trueplay setup, should I skip the dining room and just concentrate on the main listening area?   I have no nearby wall to bounce off of to the left.     

So with my Arc on the way, I am preparing for upgrade. And the question is, did Sonos thought about “easy swap” option. Obviously vast majority of Arc buyers will be current Playbar owners and Ithought it would be nice to have a swap option in the app. So is there any easy swap option in the app to update Playbar to Arc? Or I should everything myself, dismantle current 5.1, reset Playbar and then set-up 5.1 again with Arc?

I have searched and searched with no luck.    I have a Hisense H7C Series 4K TV that has an Arc port, but eArc port. It’s about 3 years old.  Can I get an Atmos signal through through to a Sonos Arc? I want one, but cannot determine if it will work. Also, I know I would need to get a new streaming box as the Apple TV and Amazon Fires I have connected don’t support Atmos. What do you recommend for Atmos with the Sonos Arc and this low end 4K TV (if it will even work)? Thanks for any help. I am done searching. I also called Hisense and they need the serial #, which is on the back of the TV and mounted on a wall. Not really thrilled with taking the TV down to find the serial #, so thought I’d try here.  Thanks, Robert  

Hi   new to all this, have just brought a Sonos Playbar, downloaded the Sonos app but when I try to setup the bar after pressing the buttons on the side as requested I get a message saying  Playbar incompatible You need the modern Sonos app to set up your system using this product. To add this modern product to your legacy app, set up a legacy product first then add Playbar.   I do not understand this as I am using the latest version of the app, any help appreciated as I am losing patience with this. Thanks.

I have just added two sonos one’s gen 2 to my beam (no sub) . and successfully set up the surround sound system and the app recognizes that I have a beam with the two speaker. Only the beam produces sound I can also control the volume on the beam from either speaker so I’m defiantly connected to the beam but sill no sound. Same result for TV, Music and movie. All so  tried rebooting router, beam and speakers still no sound. Help !!!! 

Hello, Just a day ago my beam stopped working (could nog connect to internet).   I thought my beam was connected via HDMI and was having internet from the HDMI cable on my TV. Trying to fix this issue kept me busy because I could nog get it fixed using internet over HDMI cable…!  Does the beam connects to HDMI using internet or was it just my wifi connection wich worked when I unplugged the cable… 🙈? Hope someone can solve this case!

Hi   Got a play bar and 2 play 1’s as surround sound for my TV.    The volume up has stopped working.    I’ve reconnected it via the app, followed all the prompts and it’s says it’s connected.    The light comes on when turning volume down but not when turning volume up. The lights worked when I reconnected in the app but doesn’t work.    Any ideas? 

I have Beam connected to TV (optic audio connection). 2x SONOS-Ones paired, then can group together with Beam I can get Beam volume controlled by TV remote. However when TV off/on, TV audio only reverts to only coming from Beam. With SONOS App I have to regroup Ones to Beam.  Audio also comes from TV speakers - have to effectively set up remote each time.  My objective is two fold Group all speakers, hopefully giving stereo/surround effect, and allow master volume to be consistently managed by TV remote.  Stream music, using Airplay at moment as I get used to setting up system, without compromising TV volume control when I switch back to TV. 

Hello everyboy, I see this advertised in the presentation sections of Sonos One SL: “Use a pair as rear home theatre surrounds with Playbar, Playbase, or Beam.“. I get how it works theoretically. What I’m worried about is: the sound comes from the TV to the Beam through HDMI, but then from the Beam to the OneSL rear speakers through Wi-fi. Because of this, isn’t there some (very small, but still...) delay ? IMO, there’s no way a wi-fi connection can be as fast as the cabled one. And if there would be a delay, there’s nothing the Beam can do through software, as it doesn’t receive the sound any sooner that the moment when the TV outputs it… Who has set up and is using such a configuration ? What can you tell me, am I worried for nothing ? Is this really working ok, without any delay issues ? Thanks.

Can I connect my samsung smart tv to my sonos one?  How do I do it?

Replaced an existing TV with a new Sony TV and I'm trying to configure the Sony remote to control the volume on a Sonos Playbar. I followed the instructions on the support site (https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3402?language=en_US) but the Sonos doesn't seem to recognize when I press the volume button on the remote. There are no obstructions to the IR sensor on the Playbar (the Playbar is oriented so that the IR sensor is in the upper right corner) and the remote works with the TV as expected. Any other options to troubleshoot/resolve the problem?

Anyone had issues with the Beam not recognising it’s connected to HDMI ARC port on a Philips TV? The Beam recognises it’s connected to a Philips TV. TV recognises it has a Sonos Beam Connected to it. Spent 2 days chatting with Sonos technical so all the usual things have been checked. Making sure Philips Easylink is on. Completely resetting both TV and Beam. Having only the Beam connected to the TV. Etc, etc. All other devices that connect to the TV HDMI ARC have no issues, satellite box, Xbox, PS4 or NAS. Just seems to be the Sonos Beam that can’t recognise it’s connected to a HDMI ARC port. TV is a Philips 55POS9002. Sonos technical have used the standard answer of its an issue with the TV, which hi highly doubt it as every other device has connected without issue. Any ideas?? Thanks Chris
