I cannot get Dolby Atmos on my Arc when watching Netflix ( it’s on my LG cx 2020 model year) I have all the necessary requirements and when  I play through the tv speakers I also see the Atmos icon on the screen, this dissapears when I attach the Arc. I’ve tried enabling the eArc toggle in additional settings, makes no difference. The arc was set up using the v2 Sonos app . In fact all streamed content is broadcast in 2.0 when I check on the Sonos app.

I have a playbar, bridge and a gen 1 speaker. All was well until an update and now my play 5 is no longer connecting. The system no longer recognises my bridge and tells me to download S2 and everything will be saved. I download S2 and it tells me my bridge is no longer compatible and to use S1…. on doing this, the S1 won’t support my system and to download S2….. and so it goes on. I have tried to reset the system but still only have the playbar working.What do I need to do because it’s driving me mad. Would a boost make it work? Do I connect via a cable into something?   I am not very tech savvy so easy suggestions please.  Thanks  

I have an Arc for theater and an excellent pair of passive bookshelf speakers exclusively for music. I am considering purchasing the Sonos Amp to power and stream music to the passive speakers. My question is whether I can use a single Sonos Sub with the Arc for theater and switch to use the same Sonos Sub paired with the passive speakers for music?  I assume something like this is possible by setting up two different rooms with the Sub in both rooms, but will doing so cause the Sub to play music out of sync with the passive speakers? Would I be better off purchasing an external subwoofer and let the Amp power the external sub and leave the Sonos Sub paired with the Arc?  

My beam was great, had it connected with two Ones for surround sound. So good I ordered the sub. BUT Beam no longer connects so no home theatre setup.  Surrounds can connect normally but Beam does not.  Beam works with tv but does not show up in app so surrounds do not work. I have rebooted speakers and router and then reset speakers, but beam still does not show up in app.  I connected beam with Ethernet cable to router; that worked but as soon as I disconnected Ethernet cable, unplugged beam and moved it back to tv, beam connection was lost, and I was left with ?+L+R in app. Very frustrating. I will not even open box of sub until I get this straightened out! Please help. 

Hi - I’ve just invested in a Sonos Beam and am unable to get a connection using the HDMI Arc socket on my Panasonic TX-40DX700 - launched in 2016. Following advice from other posters I have:disconnected all other HDMI leads from the TVunplugged both TV and Beam for five minuteschecked cable is secure both endsensured that I connected using the correct HDMI socket (middle of three)only connected the cable when the TV was switched on (when I do this the tv sound is muted)set the Viera Link to ‘on’ in settings on the TVset TV sound to Home CinemaWhenever I use the Sonos app to link the TV to the Beam I get the following message ‘HDMI ARC not detected. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the ARC port and your TV is on’. To check that the Beam was working I connected up using the optical lead. Immediately the TV’s sound came out of both the Beam and the TV. I tried to change the sound setting on the TV to Home Cinema rather than TV but that option was unavailable.I’m starting to run ou

Getting frustrated.  New sub, and intermittently I will have problems with sub “turning on” when starting to play something.  The status light is on, and it acts and looks like it is working just fine from the app (S2).  I can toggle the “sub” on and off, and the only difference it makes it the Ones pick up more of the bass when toggled off; the sub just stays dead.  Then, without any rhyme or reason, at a seemingly random moment, it will turn on and start working. It could be 30 seconds, or it could be 15 minutes. And then, sometimes the power of the sub isn’t anywhere where it should be.  Even maxing out Bass in EQ and Sub Level leaves the sub sounding neutered. Then, all of a sudden, that too will resolve itself at a random moment.  Has anyone experienced this?  Everything is up to date.  I did factory reset the sub once, but it has made no difference.

Thinking of adding a Sonos One SL to my legacy setup. Can I play the Sonos One on S1 or will I be forced to update to S2.  I do not wish to update to S2.

I have a Sonos XL and have downloaded they-dated software. However, the SONOS controller that is in the brown box will not control my speaker as it states “it is not compatible”.  The SONOS site says it is compatible.  I believe the issue stems from the name of the speaker appearing as ChaplinX SL; the pair were purchased at Costco. I have looked in the community form etc and there seems to be no answer to this??????? Any assistance is appreciated. 

Hi, I’ve been owning a Playbase for a bit more than one year and I’ve just bought 2 SL Ones to augment the sound experience for my TV.The Playbase has been set up with the previous version of the app, but the new SL Ones have been set up with the new S2 app. I want all these speakers to be configured in the same room but for some reason it is impossible for me to see the Playbase in the new S2 app. When I try to set-up new product, it just never shows up. When I open the old app, it just direct me to the new app, so I’ve kinda lost any ability to control my Playbase, even though it still shows up in AirPlay.Any thoughts?Thanks

Hi everyone Just today I’ve received my first Sonos (One SL), went through Wi-Fi setup with my iPhone device just fine and it works great. I cannot however connect any other device (tried Windows and two other iOS devices) with my system, they say that they cannot find any Sonos in my network (it’s the same network, checked twice). Windows settings (network and firewall) are ok. Any ideas how can I fix this issue?

I have a brand new setup with two Sonos ONE SLs, Arc and Sub. My room is quite large and the surround (Sonos ONE SLs) are 20’ apart and 15’ from the Arc. The Sub is also about 12’ away from the Arc. I spoke with a technician who said they should be closer, but that’s not easy to do. Is there a way to keep the speakers where they are but improve the connection?Also, rather than use the two Sonos ONE SLs as surrounds, does anyone use them as Front Left and Right speakers? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have an older TV (manufactured in 2014 - not really old to me, but by tech standards, I suppose it is) and I'm trying to connect my Sonos Beam to it using an HDMI switch. Currently I have an HDMI cord running from the TV to the switch and the Beam connected to the switch via an optical cord (using the HDMI to optical adapter Sonos provides), but the Sonos app isn't recognizing anything via TV Setup through their app. Does anyone have advice for steps to take to try to make this all work together? I'm at a loss now. I appreciate any help or tips anyone might have. I thought I could handle this level of tech, but apparently I cannot. TV: LG 65LB5200 - photo below showing the back of the TVHere’s the HDMI switch I purchased. 

I had a play bar that turned on every night at 2am by itself. It is hooked up to an RCN 4K android cable box optical out. I had to return it . Bought a Yamaha yas-408 sound bar , hooked up identically and never had a problem . Didn’t like the sound quality so I bought an ARC sl hooked it up identically and low and behold it turns on at 2am again. Beyond frustrated.Sonos and I checked for alarms which there are none. 

If I plug my Beam into the HDMI ARC output on the TV, my cable box would have to go into the other HDMI port, which won't be possible, as I would then have to choose one port or the other as a "source." I assume this means I can only use the optical adapter to connect the Beam?

Sonos Beam Airplay stopped working. I tried resetting the router, restarting the Mac, resetting the Beam. Nothing is working. I tried all three things multiple times. The only thing that changed today was the Sonos app update, I figured after a full product reset of the beam things should work right?!?This seam to be a recurring problem. I’ve seen posts that go back two years… after a days worth of work this is not the way I want to spend my time… spending hours trouble shooting your product is not my job, specially considering your ticket price.A simple audio jack to connect to the computer output signal would so easily solve all sort of headaches. I had the product for a couple of weeks and considering that it also took hours to get things to work when I first set-up the system, I’m sincerely thinking of returning it. 

Good evening, today I received my first Sonos product. I opted for the BEAM to replace my broken Samsung Sound bar.I’m having an issue setting up the device. My goal is to connect it to my Samsung UE55KS9000T TV. My old Samsung Sound bar connected through Bluetooth, I presume I can do the same with the BEAM.I unboxed the BEAM and was surprise that it didn’t come with a remote control :). I connected it to the mains with an ethernet cable to my BT Smart Hub 2 router. I then installed the Sonos 2 App on my iPhone and created a Sonos Account. It found my BEAM (with the correct serial number). It then ask me to press the button on the BEAM, then the set-up process began. After 30secs is fails with a message ‘The connection to your Beam was lost. Make sure Beam is powered on” The BEAM is powered and this message happens everytime. I’ve even installed the App on my iPAD just in case my iPhone was dropping wifi signal, I get the same message.I’ve also connected the HDMI cable from the BEAM to

I just got an Amazon cube and there is no place to run an optical cord to my ARC.  Currently I run the optical cord from my fire TV to my ARC and HDMI from fire tv to my projector across the room.  (We don’t have a TV).  The cube only has one HDMI spot, which I need to run to my projector (under the carpets and behind our couch.). What to do?  How do I get sound from the Cube to the ARC? 

First of all - I am a 10+ years die hard Sonos ambassador - I just love Sonos products in everyway.I’m also an life long enthusiast of full speaker Hi-Fi and surround sound, and have many various setups including a full speaker, amp, sub setup as well as a Sonos Playbase 5.1 setup. The Playbase is really good, but can’t really win against my full featured Hi-Fi speaker/sub setup - and its also limited by missing HDMI ARC, etc. So when the Sonos Arc was announced my hopes was high and I ordered it right away. I quickly got i running and Trueplayed it. The first movie impressions was quite okay, however not really great. But the music listening was absolutely horrible - I could not believe how bad the sound was. Even my old Play 1 would beat it any day. So I tried tuning again, etc. but nothing helped. Looking around for solutions I stumbled upon the suggestion to Trueplay with and old iPad. I had Trueplayed tuned the setup with my iPhone XS which is said to have a filter for high treble

Hi, my Sonos Arc finally arrived today.  Unfortunately the product is unusable because the volume keeps automatically going to 100 all the damn time.  I’m using an Apple TV 4K with it and using via HDMI ARC to my Samsung TV. All is fine, the Trueplay is setup and all.  But I can see that the status light flashes as if someone was secretly turning the volume up until it can’t go any higher, after that the Sonos Arc just keeps beeping angrily because it can’t go any higher but keeps trying. The only solution I found is to disable the ‘Touch Controls’ option under Hardware settings on the Sonos app. Have I just paid £799 for a defective product? Should I return it? Or is it a bug with the app itself?  Diagnostic confirmation number: 1032501406

How do I connect those speaker to my Samsung smart tv

I am trying to set up a Sonos Beam.  My Panasonic TV has three HDMI ports.  Only one is an HDMI-ARC port and that is already in use by my DirectTV cable box.  Apparently the other two ports do not work with Beam.  I keep getting the message that “CED not connected”.  The CEC on my TV is enabled.  Can anyone help?If i need to use the “optical audio adapter”, then where do I plug that in?any help would be greatly appreciated.  SONOs online instructions are weak, at best, for a neophyte trying to set up his first soundbar.

Hi , i am selling 80% of my sonos system and buying up grades. Do i need to factory reset each speaker before i sell ?  and more importantly, how do it do for each product? I presume the procedure is the same for all products?I’m selling play1’s , playbar, play5 gen1’smany thanks, Chris. 

I just bought a Beam today and was amazed at the lack of instruction with the equipment, other than download the app and select ‘set up new system’.I downloaded the app to my android Samsung version 6.0.1.On opening the app, the only option is to ‘add to existing system’ - but I don’t have any other Sonos items.How do I find the ‘set up a new system’ tab? 

I appear to have a slight humming noise coming from my new Gen 3 Sub. It is most noticeable when the sub is awake, but I have noticed that there is a much quieter hum when the sub is asleep. There is also a very slight ?crackle? noise with the hum.The hum is present when audio is playing, paused, or muted. The sub is paired with an Arc.The hum doesn’t get louder when I turn up the volume slider.Here is an example, recorded on an iPhone with the microphone placed about 1cm away from the hole on the Sub. Hi All Just received a new Sonos Beam today. Everything working ok with exception of crackling/static sound when using Xbox Series X. Issue goes away if I revert to stereo sound but clearly this is not a solution.I can see many have been complaining about this. Is there a fix? Should note all other sources are fine including Sky, PS5.
