Bought a Sonos Arc today and came home to set it up. Went through the setup instructions provided by GuitarSuperstar here:The setup went smoothly except that the “Select HDMI Input Audio Format” option is greyed out and I can’t change it to ‘Bitstream’ as instructed - it’s still set at ‘PCM’.  Not sure where to go with this.  :-/

Hi, we have old sky boxes and have been putting off switching to sky Q with poor broadband and also because we heard there were issues with Sonos compatibility. I can see there are a lot of problems on here but a lot from quite a while ago and with gen 2 products. We have the original sound bar and sub with the sonos 1s as the surround speakers in one room and the first sonos beam in the other.  Is this likely to have any issues if we change to Sky Q? Thanks very much 

Hi...I have a Beam (V1) mounted under my TV for listening to video. I have my favorite old Pioneer SX-727 receiver for listening to music. How can I use the speakers wired to the Pioneer as my rear channels when listening to video? Is the Sonos Port product what will allow me to pick of the rear-L and rear-R channel, and plug them in as an Aux source on the receiver? (To be clear: Not trying to get audio out of the Pioneer into Sonos, only Rear channels out of Sonos into Pioneer.)  Thank you...Chris  

Hi everyone. First of all I beg excuses for my english.My room has the following configuration: two stereo Five’s and a Sub (gen 2). Five’s are new. The sub is a refurbished one bought on Sonos site in december ‘21.The sub performs correctly. But two minutes after stopping music reproduction, you can hear one single soft “pop”. This happens also when the Sub is off (flashing green light).Is it normal?Diagnostic report 1879570162Thanx! 

I'm struggling with where to position my Sonos Arc for atmos sound effect.  The Arc paired with two sonos ones as rear speakers.  My room size is 19ft long x 13ft wide and 7.5ft high with the sofa on the opposite wall 19ft away from the arc.  My TV is mounted on the wall and I was wondering;- Would i be better mounting the sonos on the wall or on the TV unit?- If it is on the wall, how high off the ground should it be?- I have seen videos about angling the speaker to gain a better sound.... is this the case? Any help is much appreciated!

Good morning everyone! I’ve been struggling to get the soundbar to work appropriately with my television. I’m constantly having to monitor the volume levels while watching programs because the action will be super loud and the dialogue very quiet. I have the app and see that I only have three settings to work with: bass, treble, loudness. Is there any other function or program I can do to level this out? Version 14.4 not allowing any adjustment on the subwoofer. Please advise…...

Hi guys I having this problem in that for the past 2 days, the Beam only has the left channel working when i was using it with my Samsung TV. Other usage (via Sonos app) works well, with both the beam and surround speakers working correctly. Anyone knows how to resolve this as this really spoils the aural pleasure when watching the tv. Any assistance are greatly appreciated. Thank you

Long time fan, first time poster. (And I know it says Bean, not Beam, above. Why can you edit the post and not the question?!) Two (2) Samsung QN85A TVs - one connected to an Arc and another to a Beam (Gen 2). Stream apps through AppleTV 4K (Gen 1), connected using eARC w/ HDMI 2.1 cables.  When using the above with the DIRECTV Stream app, often, very often, there will be no sound when turning everything on, or changing a channel. If I flip around a bit, it eventually corrects itself, but something isn’t right. It should all just work. And it does, albeit insanely inconsistently. See others having similar issues. Any ideas? (Need DIRECTV Stream for to follow my regional sports teams, otherwise I’d dump it.) 

I have spent hours reading all the different questions/answers on this forum regarding this topic but none have corrected my issue. So I thought if I gave some specifics of my setup, there might be a breakthrough! TV is a Samsung Class 8 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV (Model: UN82RU8000FXZA)It does not have eARC but does have ARC which is connected to the Sonos Arc via high speed HDMI. The audio settings on the TV are set to Dolby Digital + and the ‘Enable Dolby Atmos’ button is on. According to the TV menu, this is how the settings should be if I want to receive Atmos. I’ve tried Disney Plus and Amazon Prime movies that show they are broadcast in Atmos but the most I can ever get to how on my Sonos App is that they are playing in Dolby Digital + and I’ve never been able to get the ATMOS logo to appear. I’ve tried numerous movies and shows to be sure. Any thoughts? i purchased the Arc specifically for Atmos and now am disappointed. 

It’s random, happens 2-3 days a wek, but the addition of a Beam 2 seems to have created this issue.Hisense U7GBeam 2Apple TV 4KBefore the Beam it never happened.Any ideas? 

I have been a loyal Sonos customer from the get go but I just can’t understand why they haven’t addressed the loud popping issue in the beam and arc products when customers are choosing Dolby Atmos output. Looking at these forum posts, its across multiple sources (appleTV, Xbox, etc) and across multiple TV types. Why doesn’t Sonos say something about this? Tell us you are working on it. Something.As of now, I am considering trashing my Sonos set up in favor of Bluesound. I just can’t stay with a company/brand that leaves their customers in the dark on a crappy issue.

Hi all and apologies if this has been raised previously.I have recently purchased a fabulous LG C1 tv and the picture is amazing.I have also had some work done mounting it on the wall and the electrician has provided two hidden hdmi leads in the wall. Devastatingly there isn't an optical cable buried in the wall which now would leave me with it visibly attached to my playbase. my question is, Is there a connector that will convert optical to hdmi then I can use existing cables?I can see the sonos converter cable won't work with the playbase.I also have a sky q box but Netflix and Amazon prime are far superior on the tv so ideally would want the sound coming directly from the tv than just the sky q box.hopes this makes sense and any thoughts appreciated Wayne

Hi,bit of a strange problem with my Gen 1 Beam. I don’t see it in my TV inputs list and when I try to connect via the app I get this message - ‘HDMI Arc is not detected. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the ARC port and is turned on’. It was connected when I first set it up but dropped its connection. I’m using a good quality 2.1 HDMI cable and have tried another one but the problem persists. This is my second beam and the previous one had the same issue.  So, I’m left wondering if the HDMI ARC port is somehow broken on my TV. My TV is a 2018 LG OLED.  The other only thing I could think of is that the sonos app does drop it’s wifi connection a lot on my phone. But I can’t see that having anything to do with it? The beam and the surround sound speakers I’m using work as intended. I get dolby 5.1 from them, so that’s the main thing. I don’t even know what I’m missing by not having the TV connected via the app, but I’m interested in why it’s not working correctly.  Any ideas for w

When using a Sonos Arc with Amp as surrounds the app now specifies that the Arc needs to be hardwired to the router (regardless of other hard wired Sonos products / Amp). I can’t remeber if this has always been the case or it’s a new requirement. The thing that I don’t understand is that on our shop demo system, neither the Arc or Amp is wired but is setup (and works) as Arc, surrounds w/ Sonos sub. The only difference is a Boost, can you get around it with a boost.

Sony Bravia will not stay connected to Sonos Arc. Switches back to TV speakers. Got it to work once by removing all connections, powering down both units then repowering both units and reconnecting all inputs. However when I shut the system down and turned it back on it went back to switching to TV speakers. Can any one help? 

Folks - I read multiple threads about this topic and am so new to SONOS that I didn’t understand a thing. So here I go again and please explain the possibilities:I bought a Sonos Home Theater system Immersive Set with Arc couple of months ago - as y’all know it comes with an Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + a pair of Sonos one smart speakers The way I have them setup in my media room is - Arc is sitting right below/in front of my wall mounted TV, Sub is sitting on the right side of the TV and sonos one pair are setup in the two corners of the room behind me (behind the couch where we watch from) Now I bought another pair of Sonos one smart speakers - Can’t find a way to link them to the Arc so that I can make the system Arc+Sub gen 3+LS+RS (which already exists) + the two new One smart speakers The only way it allows me on the app is to have them created separately as a Studio pair which then don’t link to the arc! I’ve got a Sonos Arc connected via hdmi to a Sony TV, with a gen3 sub. No Sonos products in the house are hard wired to network. I’m attempting to pair an amp for rear surrounds, but cannot get the amp to pair. I’ve tried every trouble shooting step I can think of, including factory resetting every piece of sonos equipment on the network, but cannot get them to pair. Is there a specific sequence that these need to be added in?

 Hello,I’m trying to use the instructions from this Github repo ( https://github.com/basdp/USB-Turntables-to-Sonos-with-RPi/issues ) to connect my Turntable to my Sonos Beam 2.I got a AT-LP120XBT-USB turntable which I connected directly to my Pi 4B via USB.According to arecord I am getting info inside (I can see volume fluctuating), but I get nothing on the speaker.For whatever reason when I open the ip on port 8000, I get nothing on the Server Status.When I tried following this tutorial: https://www.instructables.com/Add-Aux-to-Sonos-Using-Raspberry-Pi/ I got to the mount point part (sometimes I just needed to restart the service for it work)I tried setting the Turntable output to both phono/line.If you have any advice for me, I’d be grateful.Thank you! 

I believe I may have discovered a bug which, as far as I can tell hasn’t been reported yet, but I can reproduce over and over:I have two Sonos One SLs.  I can successfully pair these two speakers to become a stereo pair, and I can play to this set perfectly fine from within the Sonos 2 apps on both my iPhone and MacBook.  However, if I try to play a song from within Apple’s “Music” app using AirPlay it breaks the stereo pairing - one of the two speakers stops playing music altogether.It then remains like this regardless of the music source or whether it’s being played from the Sonos 2 App or Music App (via AirPlay).  It does not split the two speakers into separate rooms, sound just stops playing out of one of the speakers.  I can fix this by using the “Remove Stereo Pair” option, which then does separate the speakers into two rooms and each works fine again, separately. I can then re-pair the speakers, and it will all work fine again until I attempt to start an AirPlay session to them

Appreciate any help with these questions:On the LG C1, aside from enabling eARC Support, should Digital Sound Output be set to: PCM, Auto or Pass Through? should HDMI Input Audio Format be set to: Bitstream or PCM?On the PS5, should HDMI Device Type be set to: TV, AV Amplifier or Sound Bar? should Audio Format (Priority) be set to: Linear PCM, Dolby or DTS?On the Xbox Series X,should HDMI Audio be set to 7.1 uncompressed or Dolby Atmos for home theater? should Allow passthrough be enabled under additional options?--Lastly, I read there was an issue with the LG CX where the following would happen. On the LG CX, when the Digital Sound Output is set to,Pass Through → incorrect 7.1 ch signal (causing missing channels) Auto → correct 5.1 ch signalDoes this issue persist and does it also affect the LG C1 or only the LG CX?Thanks for your help!

I’m using an LG CX 55” and the TV Remote will change the volume/mute the ARC and Sub but not the Five. Not sure if I set anything up wrong or anything.  

Hello,Everyday my Sonos beam 2 keeps disconnecting from the TV, I have to plug and unplug the Hdmi cable so it can work again. It's really random, what can I do please ?

I replace a Connect Amp with the new Amp and it is set up to play the rear wired surrounds and Sonos Amp but not connected to TV and existing playbar.  anybody know how I can integrate them together? thx
