Hi. I’m designing a system in my house, I’m new to Sonos amp, I believe I need it for recessed speakers as Sonos don’t offer mains networked recessed speakers from what I understand? Provisional setupcinema room 5x4.5m:1x bass,1x playbar,1x pair rear 8 inch sonance 1x Sonos amp Large open plan kitchen a lounge space 12m x6m. Tv one end kitchen the other:1x play bar4x 6 inch rear speakers 1x Sonos amp looking to install recessed speakers in 3x wc’s. I belive I need 3x additional amps if I wanted to only play music say in one of them at a time… Or am I missing something? I may just opt for the surface mount mains ones in other areas if buying multiple amps is the only way  im toying with the idea of a audio switch to save on amp cost for the cinema and kitchen rooms listed above, but not sure if it’s going to be a pain to keep switching as they would be mounted all together in

I have a 2024 Hisense U7 series TV and a Sonos Arc with Two Play ones as surrounds and a bonus sub.The arc is connected to TV via HDMI earc port.  When I have the Digital Audio Output set to Passthrough and watch shows on Netflix, I get Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus badges to show in the Sonos app.  But when I use Peacock it say Stereo PCM in the app.  But if I change the TV setting from Passthrough to Dolby Digital, then when watching Peacock it show a Dobly Digital badge and does indeed sound better.  But then in Netflix I no longer see the Atmos badge.  So I am super confused as to what setting to put the Digital Output to.  If I put it on Auto, then when watching Peacock, the Sonos app shows Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0.Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1 for shows that was showing Dolby Digital Plus.  Dolby Atmos still seems to work correctly in this settingSo really confused what setting I should put it on.Is there a difference between Dolby Digi

I have a Humax set top box, and the volume controls appears as a bar along the bottom of the screen. Since installing a Sonos Arc Ultra the bar has dissapeared and the volume is just a + and - on the main screen. Does anyone know how the get the bar along the bottom back. Thanks.

I have just bought a new TV a Samsung but there is no optical output. With my old Tv I connected to my playbar with optical lead. There is only and optical input into my playbar. Is there a way of connecting my new Tv to my playbar?

Hello there,I have an issue with my Sonos setup (or i think it maybe a Sonos related problem).I have a 5.1 setup, Beam gen 2, 2 ones and a sub mini connected to my Samsung TV. I use Netflix and Viaplay to watch movies. Recently I have noticed that when playing movies in Viaplay it only ouputs 2.0 so no bass and no surround (it has worked before we had a power outage). The info states that the output audio is Dolby Audio, doesn’t specify 5.1 or 2.0. But there are some movies that are new so i assume the are in 5.1 format. Jumping directly to Netflix without shutting down the tv or Sonos system, everything works fine, Dolby Atmos, Dolby 5.1 etc.I read in another forum that this could be a Viaplay issue but then again in other forum that this is definetly a Sonos issue. On the TV i have audio output to Auto, tried the different options but no luck.What could cause this issue? I though that Sonos upscales to 5.1 or at least to 2.1? When watching movies in

Wondering from the community if you’re experiencing the same problem. My setup is using an AppleTV direct to a TV, Arc or Arc Ultra connected to the ARC HDMI on the TV. Starting the YouTube TV from the AppleTV and having a channel that has 5.1 audio, the Arc and Arc Ultra decode 2.0 even though 5.1 is being sent (verified by using stats for nerds on the YouTube TV App). Changing the channel on YouTube TV, the Arc and Arc Ultra decode 5.1 and even changing back to the original channel, it now decodes 5.1. I’ve verified this behavior on two different brands of TVs and the 3rd and 2nd generation AppleTV 4k. Spend 1.5 hours with Sonos support that confirmed this issue yesterday and wondering how many other people have noticed or solved this. Appreciate your insight!

Hello AllI do enjoy movies with my sonos beam + surround devices where Atmos is available. When it is not, such as with dolby digital 5.1 or 7.1, it is just day vs night. Here the sound seems low, quality not good i need increase volume up to 75% while 30% is enough with Atmos soundtrack. So i was wondering if I missed something in my beam or surround configuration ? Thanks all for your support. David

I have an Arc and two Era 100’s that are set up as surrounds in my living room. When I stream music everything works fine. However when I watch a show, movie, or anything besides music the main audio switches from the arc to the right Era 100. The left Era 100 plays no sound. I’ve tried resetting my comcast device, removing the 100’s as surrounds, resetting them and adding back into my system. I’ve tried calling customer support and both times they have me do the same things over and over again and nothing changes. Does anyone know what is causing this problem or do I just have a bad speaker?

Home Theater finally complete , was looking forward to my new SONOS immersive sound experience, hung my new Sony Bravia 8 (which sat unboxed, purchased on sale in February during sales event) and the TV had a white line down the left side of screen.  Sony tried to fix remotely and ultimately the TV wouldn't turn on at all.   Sony said the panel was damaged and would not cover it under warranty, $2600.00 down the toilet.   Needless to say I will not buy another Sony.   Looking for your recommendations for a 77” OLED (very dark theater room in basement).  I know Sony’s 2023 A95L was rated the best for past 2 years, but I’m not going there.   TV use will be mostly Sports/Movies/Regular Use (no gaming).  Now looking at LG’s or Samsung’s.   I have read just about every review on 2025 TV’s but as you all know one can drive themselves bonkers.  Appreciate the Sonos communities help/recommendations!

thinking of adding Sonos Fives to my current system (Beam, Sub, Era 100s) - same room   Reasonably happy with the HiFi music reproduction but the focus is obviously to the rear of the seated  positions and naturally the front is a narrow focus from the Beam. Questions - Are you Five owners impressed with the music reproduction - worth the investment? Will TV (when turned on/video played) automatically play through the beam and Eras if music was previously played through Fives (and possibly the eras and sub). Sometimes play music through Apple Music on Apple TV, though generally through iPhone Apple Music app or Sonos app. I’m aware that speaker grouping is possible just wondering if the HDMI ARC connection would disable the Fives when activated. As i write this it occurs to me that music through the Apple TV will be still ‘TV’ audio so would have to be played through an app to use the Fives. Trying to keep

I need to install my new Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar with 2 Sonos Era 300s and a subwoofer in my living room. Before, I used the Sonos Playbar and two Sonos Play 1s with subwoofers and I could turn the system volume up and down using the Samsung TV or SkyQ remote control.Can I do the same with the new system?

My Sonos Ray Soundbar always sounds like is has too much Base. I was hoping that the Dialogue would be a little more Crisp considering how much I paid for this. Is there something I am doing wrong or not doing something? Thanks

Here is my setup. LG G4 77 inch, Arc Ultra, Sub 4, pair Era 300s, and Xbox Series X. Issue I am having is what seems to be center channel on Arc Ultra not producing proper audio.REALLY notice it in Borderlands 3 when NPC is talking, dialogue is incredibly low or nonexistent. If do turn my character on screen at just certain diagonal position in relation to NPC, it provides little better audio. but still not proper in relation to rest of on-screen running audio. Elder Scrolls Online when completing a dolmen, after all the pinions are closed, and Molag Bal is speaking (offscreen, but speaking “overhead”) right before final enemy drops, Molag Bal is near impossible to hear. But all the other audio, in both the above examples are completely normal in audio. I was interested in having an additional speaker to pair with my Arc / Sub3 for TV listening. I don’t want the additional speaker to be a surround, but a full-range extension speaker. My TV  and Arc are across the great room from my kitchen and sometimes difficult to hear when eating breakfast. I note the combination of the Arc and Move2 mentions, “Breeze through setup with the Sonos app, and enjoy easy control with your TV remote”. Sounds to me like the Move2 would play tv audio. Is this true? I already purchased and returned a pair of Era100s because I was told they could only be used as surrounds for TV audio.

Beam Generation 1I have a Beam Gen i 4 years or so old, about a couple of years ago it powered down while in use and would not restart after numerous attempts. I put it in storage and a few months ago dug it out, plugged it in and it ran as it should for about 10 minutes then once again it stopped working.My first question is. can what appears to be a simple fault be repaired in NZ  and if so where would I find  a repairer?If it cannot be repaired in  NZ should I dump it, regard it as a lesson and never buy another Sonos if that is the lifespan I can expect from Sonos a product.

Hi,  I have an Arc Ultra connected via HDMI Earc.  Whenever I am watching Saturday Night Live, when the live act plays their two songs during the show, the vocals come through much louder than the musical sections of the song.  It’s like the Vocals are turned up and the Musical Instruments (especially the bass) are turned more than halfway down.  I also noticed this issue during the Live Halftime musical performance of the Super Bowl.  Any ideas? Also, I noticed that Sonos much have fixed the problem where some of the ads volumes were much higher than the volume of the show.  This was super annoying. 

I have a Sony AF8 (ARC not eARC) OLED TV, Sky Q and a Sonos Arc Ultra. The setup works flawlessly and plays Dolby 5.1 and Atmos from all TV apps and streaming apps on the Sky Q box. However, when playing Sky channels either live or recorded, the sound frequently does not play when switching to a new channel when the Sky box is set to either DD or DD+. If I quickly flick to the next channel and back again a couple of times it might start working, or if I go into the Sky settings and flick back to Normal (PCM) and then back to DD or DD+ it sometimes works. i have been onto each of Sonos, Sky and Sonos and each one claims it is not their problem and to check with the others! I am beginning to think that I have spent £900 on a white elephant that only works when it feels like it. Hi there I have a Sonos beam and I would like to buy a projector. I will use it to watch movie. Could you confirm that I will be able to plug my hdmi cable between my projector and my laptop and at the same time cast the sound from my laptop to my beam through Bluetooth?I am asking because last time I tried I had a few seconds lag. The app automatically limits the power of the subwoofers when they are used together, which defeats the purpose: more powerful, deeper, and more immersive bass.I therefore ask you to consider the following improvements:Add an option to disable automatic attenuation with two subs.Allow independent adjustment of the level of each sub.Offer a "Full Bass" or "Cinema" mode for those who want an intense experience.Many of us would like this freedom in settings.
