Hi, I have a small dedicated basement movie room with a 65” screen wall mounted.  Room is 3m (10ft) x 4m (14ft) and we watch across the 3m, so quite close.I want to install the best possible Atmos experience from Sonos and love to listen loud.  What is the ideal set up for this room??

When connecting to a remote, Bluetooth speaker, I am having issues connecting back to my surroundsound

New User, New Beam Gen 2 hook up help.    There are so many threads and great info here on the forum and I have spent hours reading through them and thanks for all that post. I guess I'm a bit lost or confused somewhat on the set up so, perhaps you folks could chime in on our set up .   Here is how I have it set up as of yesterday:Nvidia Shield is connected to HDMI 3 to my LG Oled C2 TV.   I have the beam connected through the HDMI 2 Port ARC to the Sonos gen 2 HDMI port.   I do not have any Surround sound set up as yet, I will probably get a sub but for now I guess you can say all we have is the Sonos sound bar connected.  I was having a problem getting any sound at all so I contacted Sonos (great support) and we got the Beam working but I am not sure what audio I am actually getting  The LG is set to Sound HDMI to Wired external device.   The format that shows on the Beam is PCM 2.0 …. My content is a mixtures of content sent from the Shield that can be a number of services like Amaz

I replaced my 1st gen. Sonos Beam with a Sonos Arc.  I've read online and forum posts that suggest the Beam can be used as a "speaker," but those provided scant "how to" details.   I have Sonos products throughout my home and do not need another TV “soundbar.”Can someone please point me to a resource/link/thread that will explain how I can convert the Beam "soundbar" into a simple speaker that's NOT connected/associated/affiliated to/with a television set? I’m assuming I can do the set up using the Ethernet port, and, using the App, can then assign the Beam it to any room?It would also be interesting to hear what other applications users have found for their retired Beams--besides.selling them--additional speaker for existing set up? Independent speaker in another room? Cordially,Bill

I originally bought the Sonos Beam Gen 2, but found it too small for our living room. Returned it in favor of the Sonos Arc. The soundbar is connected to a Sony KD-65XH8096 over HDMI ARC (No eARC on this model).With both soundbars I’ve experienced intermittent audio dropouts. It’s not even a full second. But it’s very noticeable.Doing some googling, it seems this is a fairly common “Sony” problem. To test this, I hooked the Arc to my 32” Samsung Smart display. Samsung did not show any audio dropouts while I tried it, so I’m inclined to believe this is related to my TV and not the soundbar. The Samsung did however send audio as PCM, so there’s a bit of a difference there.Anyone got any tips on how I can be sure the issue is related to my TV and not the soundbar? 

Hello,I just added a Sub Mini to my Beam (gen2) + 2xOneSL setting.It seems Sub Mini has probem pairing a wireless Beam. The Sonos App shows connected but the Sub Mini dose not play any sound in a movie or a base-heavy music.I’ve tried some cases:Pairing Sub Mini to hard-wired Beam, w/ or w/o surroundings, Sub Mini works as normal. (Diagnostics 1176300266) Pairing Sub Mini to wireless Beam, w/ or w/o surroundings, Sub Mini plays no sound. (Diagnostics 1996661303) Pairing Sub Mini to stereo One SLs, Sub Mini works as normal. Switching Beam from hard-wired to wireless, after automatic reconnecting, Sub Mini plays no sound. Switching back Beam from wireless to hard-wired, after automatic reconnecting, Sub Mini plays no sound. Manually power on/off Sub Mini, after reconnecting, it works as normalI am not happy keep connecting my Beam with a network cable in my room...So I did a lot search here and find some related posts. I have introduced a Sonos One SL into the TV room grouped with a Beam. The Sonos One SL keeps cutting out with the TV (but seems fine just playing music Spotify). Wifi is super strong and its positioned close to Beam (which has no problems). I have performed all the recommended switch-offs, switch-ons, it’s unusable pls help!

Why can’t you use 2 sub mini’s in a system?  This seems a perfect solution…

It’s been a while since people asked a similar question, but perhaps advice has evolved. Is there a workaround to make a single RF TV remote control Playbar volume (IR). I realise they won’t communicate natively,but is there a good workaround. TV is Loewe Bild i.55 and gorgeous remote uses RF

In the Sonos “Home Theater” section of the website, Sonos sells different combinations of products, sold as “sets” for home theater setups. The “Arc” and the “Beam” soundbars have built-in voice control, so when using other Sonos speakers with voice control as rear speakers with these soundbars, the voice control is disabled on the rear speakers. I just hooked up and finally got the Arc working. in my opinion, unless I am missing something the Arc is in NO way worth $900!My Arc only displays 5.1 in the S2 app NOT ATMOS!One of the multiple seemingly all foreign( I mention foreign due to our language differences and therefore difficulties of communication) Sonos employees I tried to get the Arc working with , said ATMOS is just marketing and no different or better than Dolby Digital 5.1. I am seriously thinking of returning the Arc and buying some self powered Yamaha HS8 studio speakers for $800. In my opinion the the dynamics, sound quality, and overall enjoyment will be far superior with 2 quality self driven studio monitors. For less $.Prove me wrong?What do you think is a better way to go for the $900 usd. I’m just trying to be honest and factual. All productive comments are welcome!No BS or propanda please. Thank you and best wishes to all. 

Can I use a pair of Fives as surrounds with my Arc? Does anyone have that setup? Will it be better than using 2 Ones? thanks

Hi I have a arc a sub and 4 Sonos ones. I have the arc under the tv, 2 x ones on the wall either side of the tv and 2x Sonos one’s behind me on the wall. Now I have had to set them up as a group to make all work with the tv but if I turn up and down volume with the tv remote it only controls the arc so I have to use the app to turn up and down tv. Is there a better setup so I can control all from remote .

I have a Sony KD-55AG8 TV connected with my Sonos Beam Gen 2 via the HDMI Arc port. Futher more a have Apple TV 4K (gen 3) connected to my TV via HDMI. The Apple TV sees the Sony TV only as an Dolby Digital 5.1 output device. For example Netflix movies played via the Apple TV only result in Dolby Digital 5.1 sounds being played on the Sonos Beam. If a play the same move on Netflix installed on the TV it self, Dolby Atmos is detected and played as such on the Sonos Beam. What to do to get the apps (Netflix, Disney+, Amazone Prime, Apple TV+) on the Apple TV 4 to make use of the Atmos possibility of the Sonos Beam ?Place a AV Dolby Atmos Receiver in the middle (Apple TV → AV Receiver (HDMI In), AV Receiver (HDMI 4K Out) → TV, AV-Receiver (HDMI Arc) → Sonos Beam  ?  Buy New TV with HDMI eArc  Accept what it is.. Or… ? Would love to read your suggestions

Bonjour , je viens de recevoir ma Sonos Beam Gen 2 ,Je pensais pouvoir faire un 5 canaux avec mes 2 Sonos Five ( Paire avant gauche et droite) afin de renforcer les basses et d’utiliser mes 2 Sonos Play 1 pour l’arrière et La beam en central pour la voix claire.Mais gros problème j’ai un décalage entre la Beam et les Five en wifi.Les brancher en RJ45 resoudrais mon problème ?J’ai chercher a jouer avec les ms ,mais pas moyen ...😓 Merci

We switched from aZVOX SB500to Sonos Beam.We forgot what a great job ZVOX did controlling the volume of commercials.Sonos Beam does not, or I do not know how to turn on volume leveling.The wife wants me to dump the Sonos and put back the ZVOX.Please help. Thanks, Vic 

Hi there first time I have used this site, I have a projector which works perfectly with hd fury connected to ark when I want connect back to tv I have to swap hdmi cable from hd fury to earkcable from tv is there a compatible splitter that will work instead of having to swap cables,thanks .

Hello, Does anyone know of an update to add 2 sub minis and pair them to the sonos amps for home theater? 

HiI have dropouts with my Sonos Arc when watching . The dropouts happen several times on a evening, about 8 second evert time.  The tv is philips 70 " about year old. The arc is 6 month old and the problem has been there since I bought it. The arc is wired.  I have tryed every possible soundadjustment without Any changes.  What can I do ? 

I have a Sonos Beam (first version) that lives with a Tivo Bolt and a Sony Android TV. They worked together successfully for awhile but recently the Tivo remote will no longer control the TV volume or on/off functions. I have re-paired the remote with the TV and all Tivo functions work including channel up/down, but volume and on/off now have to be accessed through the TV’s remote.  The Beam is connected to the TV through an HDMI eArc port. 

My Arc SL cannot connect to the Sonos App

In my living room I have 2 x (Play One SL); a Sub; and Playbar.I have four other sonos one SL’s in my house outside the living room. My wifi and mesh are all the same network. I also use google home for everything and right now it’s all on the same network. Will I be able to connect my living room speakers via ethernet and still be able to control them WITHOUT putting them into SonosNet mode? I think as soon as I put them into sonosnet mode, I no longer can control them with google home. But I haven’t tested this yet.  The goal is to free up bandwidth on my wifi by connecting my four living room speakers (2xOne-SL, sub, playbar); but still have my four house speakers; and still control them all on the same network, albeit ethernet and wifi. 

Bonjour,je suis complètement novice dans le domaine et compte sauter le pas d’acheter une barre de son arc oui s’étire sur éléments dans le futur.Mon problème d’où ma question, est que ma tv est fixée au mur et impossible de la décrocher pour permettre le raccordement d’un HDMI arc supplémentaire.Est il possible de la connecter uniquement sur secteur et wifi ou un raccordement physique à la tv est impératif?merci par avance pour votre aide.Matthieu
