I have two sonos amps that drive outdoor speakers.  I want to bring my tv outside and watch a movie.  If I buy the beam gen2 and hook the tv arc hdmi to the beam, can I stream the tv audio through the beam to both sonos amps?  I don’t care about dolby or surround sound, I just want the tv audio on my outdoor speakers.  

I have had an Apple TV+ subscription for about a year and have recently purchased a Sonos-based home theater setup (Arc, Era 300 and Sub Mini) and wish to experience Dolby Atmos content via my Apple TV+ subscription on my new system.  Can anybody point me to information about this?  So far, most posts point me toward Apple Music, or the Apple TV physical component, which are not of current interest to me.   TIA

Beam has stopped powering up.Can it be rescued?

I have (2) Era 100s as a stereo pair and a Sub Mini currently set up in my home office for listening to music while I work. I am looking at getting a Beam soundbar for the TV I have in this room and would like to create a surround sound system while watching movies. Am I able to create two “rooms” in the Sonos app that share devices: Beam + Eras + Sub for TV surround -and- Eras + Sub for music? The devices would stay put in both configurations. If I’m being silly and should just embrace the added audio of the Beam while listening to music, let me know.

I’m just wondering if anyone has experience with both?  I have the Mini, but I’m wondering if the Gen3 produces a tighter sound than the Mini?  I find the Mini is boomy.

HiI have one arc, two one SL as rear and one sub gen 3 Now I want to use two era 300 as rear and move the two one SL to the front via grouping. Will that work???

Hi, I’m not sure how to submit a feature request and hope this post could work. I have been using a Beam 2 and pretty happy about it. Recently I added Sub mini and era 100s for a full setup.However, I just found that there’s no way to have a full music playback mode when the input source is TV. This is very inconvenient for me since I regularly use my TV to play music from YouTube (much more frequent than watch movies or play music from Sonos app) and with the current setup the rear speakers seldomly have any actual sound. I understand this depends on the music source, but for my use case, I hope at least I could have an option, just like playing music from the Sonos app.Thanks!

I want to use the 300’s as rear speakers in home theatre setup with Arc an Gen 3 sub. Rears must go on top of cabinetry with ample side spaces as suggested. My question relates to the sound quality resulting with only 12” above top of speaker as opposed to the recommended 24.” What are your opinions/experience with this situation. I hate to spend the big bucks if this will significantly reduce performance. Thanks for your input.    Ed

I want to move away from a traditional AV Receiver and hardwired non-powered speakers  in my home theater. How can I leverage a Sonos home theater surround system with multiple sources (Cable TV/Apple TV/Fire TV/Blu-Ray/LaserDisc/SVHS VCR) without an AV switching receiver/amplifier and still take advantage of a Sonos Dolby Atmos wireless experience?

Why in the Sonos advertising is the Sub Mini never recommend to be used with the Arc?

I love kicky bass as opposed to boomy bass.  I set up the audio system in my car with a 1200W bass amp to power a 10” W6 sub and it provides clean, clear kicky bass that I can feel, but it’s not at all that kind of fuzzy boomy bass.  How do I get kicky bass from my Arc?  I wish I could explain it better.

Quick question about adding a Beam to a secondary TV Thinking about adding a Sonos soundbar and may be sub to a 2022 LG tv. What I wonder is whether everything for TV watching, everything can be controlled from the TV remote once the IR link is working.By everything, I mean when TV is turned on using LG remote, does soundbar start working automatically and can the volume be controlled by the TV remote? Family using this set-up won’t want to use phone/Sonos App, or controls on top of soundbar.As always thanks in advance for your help.

I need some help figuring this out. My setup:Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + Era 300sTV: Panasonic plasma (2013) with HDMI ARCBecause of the older TV, I use an HDFury Arcana with a Panasonic UB820 UHD player, Apple TV 4K, and Roku Ultra connected to it with a ROOFULL HDMI switch. I have a Dolby Atmos demo Blu-ray disc that includes a 7.1.4 Test Tones video both in Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus. When the video gets to the LFE channel test, the bass tone plays from the Sub like it should, but the pink noise test tones also play from the Arc’s drivers at the same time. The surround speakers remain silent. The combination of tones playing from both the Sub and Arc is much louder compared to when the individual pink noise tones are played through the other channels during the rest of the test video. I just purchased a pair of Era 300s to add to my Sonos collection. I can fully understand the reasoning behind the absence of sound from the front-firing speakers when part of a surround setup. What I cannot understand is why Sonos is depriving its customers of enjoying the Era 300's full capabilities when listening to music in FULL mode while still in Surround mode. The only way around this is to remove them from surrounds, lose the Trueplay setting, and use them as a pair, only to have to add them back to the surround setup and re tune Trueplay every time. It's not like they are €40 speakers. Paying a premium price for such a product should leave customers looking forward to more products rather than regretting their purchase.

Hello, I am planning to buy Sonos Beam gen 2 but I see that it requires ARC/eARC to play Atmos while the TV has no such port but it has MHL 3 port. My question is, if I will be able to enjoy Atmos using this HDMI port and if not, what would be the best format that I will be able to stream.  Also, please tell us if there are any kinds of converters which may help. Thank you in advance!Best Regards,Nikolay H.

Boy, am I confused.  I spent some time with Support and got my Arc working with my Sony Bravia and Directv box.  Two weeks ago when I first set up the system, everything was working fine, however for some reason, it stopped.I have the Directv box connected to HDMI 1 on the tv.  I have the Arc connected to eArc on the tv.  Now, when I choose the HDMI eArc input of the tv, all I see is the Sonos screen saver.  When I switch to Input 1, then I see the picture and get audio from the Arc.  Is this the was it’s supposed to work?  Also, when I hit the off button on the Directv remote, the TV shuts down and the solid white light on the Arc stays lit, as do my 300s.  Shouldn’t the light on the Arc turn off with the tv and box?  One more thing, when I first set up the system, I recall having to have the tv input set to eArc in order to see the picture and hear the Arc.  Am I mistaken?  I’m so confused...

Hi all!  I rent at the moment, and I have an Arc + Sub + pair of Era 300’s as surrounds in my current living room.  I’m moving to a house at the end of the month, and my new living room is a little odd, and based on my scrubbing of the internet, I have a few questions I’m seeking peer advice from:If I am to mount the surround Era 300’s inverted, should I mount them height-wise closer to the ceiling, or should there be a gap in between the ceiling and the speaker, and if so, how much of a gap should there be?  I do watch Atmos movies and listen to Atmos music and am looking to maximize what I can of the experience here I see inverted instructions in the product guide, but am also seeing lots of chatter in other threads that the software doesn’t fully. support inverted mounting yet - what is the extent of what is not supported?  Does it not work at all?  Does TruePlay just not work when I’m inverted?  Does Atmos not work at all when inverted?  When do we think full support in software wi

I have a Sonos Beam (gen 1), and recently noticed that it can’t seem to handle monaural sound. I have a number of blu-rays in mono (Dolby Digital or DTS 1.0), but the Beam won’t output the sound. If I unplug the HDMI cable then plug it back in, it does play the sound out of the left channel for a second, but then loses it again. Anybody else found this issue, or know of a solution?

Hi, I currently don't have any SONOS kit but I am considering an ARC + Subwoofer + 2 x Era 300 for surround speakers. My question is if I adopt that setup can the two Era 300 speakers used as surround speakers be used as standalone speakers to play streaming music (as opposed to Home Cinema via the ARC soundbar) or does configuring the speakers in this way somehow prohibit using them as standalone speakers?

Our internet was down for several hours and for some reason, when it came back up, our Sonos equipment did not.We have an Arc with a pair of surrounds (Play 1)When trying to get the system up and running again, somehow 2 of the same room was created. The rooms appear in Settings > Systems as follows: Family Room Sonos (?+?)Arc SL Family Room Sonos (L+R)Play:1 When I open either of the rooms, they both show the same equipment: Arc SL, Play:1 (Right) and Play:1 (left) and they are all connected to the same WiFi network.If I try to rename one of the rooms, it renames them both so somehow they are linked.If I turn on my tv, the sound only comes from the Arc (first listed Family Room)If I select the room via Spotify to play music, the sound comes from the Play speakers (second Family Room) How do I eliminate one of these rooms and get all three components to play together?

@Corry P Some Reddit users noticed that the Surround Audio TV Level setting doesn’t actually change the rear surround levels on the Era 300s. So I decided to test it for myself.When playing a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 Test Tones video and a DTS 7.1 Sound Check video, the TV Level setting has no affect on the levels of the rear surround channels. It only changes the side surround levels.When playing a Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 Test Tones video, the TV Level setting has no affect on the levels of both surround channels. BUT when playing a DTS 5.1 Sound Check video, the TV Level setting DOES change the levels of the two surround channels.NOTE: The DTS audio is being played as Multichannel PCM from a Blu-ray player.Is this a bug in the software?

Hello. I am building my home theater system.Right now, I connect my pc to Sound Blaster GC7 through usb and connect GC7 to Sonos Beam Gen 2 through the Optical to HDMI converter comes with the beam.I set the Sound Blaster GC7 output to 7.1 surround, not virtual 7.1. Why in my app, the audio in still show Stereo PCM 2.0? Thank you

I have a new Sony TV and Sonos Arc, and I've noticed that when the Arc is plugged in, there is a significant additional delay between the TV remote and TV. It happens with changing the volume, as well as navigating Netflix and other streaming services. Is this normal and unavoidable, or is there any way around it?Could I remedy this situation if instead of the Sony TV’s Android TV, if I used an Apple TV or nVidia Shield?
