Have 2 Monitor Audio C265 speakers in the ceiling of the master bath with a wire run back to our AV closet where the plan is to connect them to a Sonos Amp.  In the master bedroom the plan is to have a 77” LG G4 OLED TV with a Beam Gen 2 speaker underneath. I do have 2 cat 6 cables run from the TV location to the AV closet but big hassle to run anything new. So questions: Assuming I use the Arc HDMI to connect the TV to the Beam? How do I get the bathroom speakers to play whatever the TV is playing and without any sound delay? My previous AV guy said there was a way to use the cat 6 to get the signal from the TV to the Sonos Amp? or is there another way?Thanks.

Hello, I would like to know if a Sonos Ray would be compatible with an XGimi Mogo Pro 2 projector. The Sonos Ray has an optical input and the XGimi has an arc output and a jack output. How do I make the Ray work with the XGimi?

Hi I’m currently building my home and we’re getting to the first fix electrics stage and I’m stuck on the design for my home cinema.  My open plan living room is around 11 metres x 5 metres. The lounge area will be around 4.5 metres x 5 metres of that. My viewing sofa will back onto a wall and the projector screen will hang between the lounge “zone” and “dining” zone without any substantial furniture below (i.e not something I can put a Arc - not that I could then wire back to the projector without a very long hidden cable run). I really want Dolby Atmos set up with clear dialogue and great effects. I have yet to buy the new projector. I will be using an Apple TV for connection. My current idea is 2 x Era 300 for rears and a Sub but I am stuck for the front.  I can mount speakers in or on the ceiling. In my last home I put a centre speaker in front of the projector screen on the ceiling. The more discreet however the better. Can anyone  help solve my problem???

I’m about to get a Beam Gen2 and have a question regarding my setup to ensure I can get Atmos.Components:Samsung TV Sonos Beam Gen2 Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2017 (supports Atmos passthrough)The TV has 2 HDMI ports, 1 regular, 1 eArc. I imagine the setup to be, connect Shield TV to regular HDMI, Beam to eArc. If I’m playing content supporting Atmos on the Shield TV (Netflix UHD for example) will this output Atmos audio to the Beam? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am looking to connect a projector sitting at the back of my living room to an Arc soundbar mounted on the wall at the front of the room. Originally I was considering running a HDMI cable through the ceiling to connect the eARC port from the projector to the eARC port in the Arc soundbar, but then I was looking at the Sonos AMP and thought that might be an option. The projector i’m looking at has Google TV so I can stream directly from it.Can someone confirm if the scenario below would work?Projector connected to the AMP via the HDMI ARC port. AMP connected to the Arc soundbar via wifi. Sound would run from the projector, through the AMP to the Arc soundbar. So I’d be able to transmit the sound from the projector to the soundbar wirelessly with the help of the AMP, saving me a lot of trouble (and cost) with running HDMI through the walls and ceiling.  Would this work? Any drawback/limitation to this I should be aware of?  

I have arc sub and 2 era 300. Are well put in the room ? Maybe era 300 too mutch hight? I use for games and Dolby Atmos film and music. Better to use era 100 as surround and use era 300 in another room? And do you suggest to put a second subwoofer? Thanks in advance ..any suggestion is appreciated  

Hi everyone.  In our basement we have our OLED, Arc, two SW and two Era 300s. We really love the sound.  We do have an issue with the room being a bit of a strange shape, so we thought about putting in a divider to wall off the theatre portion of the room. We would really like to use a fabric divider on a track that we can open and close, however the concern is this might not work well since the Arc and the 300s depend on reflecting sound.  Would they both still work effectively or would any type of fabric divider damping the reflecting sound too much? Trying to understand how some of this works. Here is what I know:The Sonos mobile app now supports Lossless audio when playing Apple Music as the source (to supported speakers). It will display a “Lossless” badge to confirm this. Airplay does not support lossless audio, so playing from the Apple Music app and airplaying to Sonos speakers will be lower qualityMy question is… If I play the Apple Music app on my Apple TV 4K (connected to Sonos Beam), it shows that it is playing Lossless (on the tv screen - the sonos app simply just shows that the source is TV HDMI audio).Is the Beam getting lossless audio? More importantly, if I then group the Beam with my other Sonos speakers, will they all then get lossless audio?

I put 3 Sonos beams in a customer’s house connected to 3 Samsung tvs. The tvs are customer supplied but we’re brand new in the box. All 3 tvs are giving an error of something unidentified in the earc port at random times. The beams are the only things connected to the tvs and when this error occurs no audio plays. I have factory reset the beams, replaced the hdmi cables, talked to Sonos tech support and submitted diagnostics, and had the customer’s reach out to Samsung to see if it was a tv issue. I find it really weird that all 3 are doing the same things. Any suggestions before I pull my hair out?

Hii have the Arc and a Sub gen3would like to add surrounds to my setupmy living room is not the biggest 4x7 meterstv slightly to the one side so the right surround would be placed aprox 30cm from the side wall and the left will be 3m from the side wall. is this a no go and go with the era100 instead of the 300’s?or will it work with the big difference between the left and right side wallthanks

 “Hi, I’ve just set up my latest Sonos purchase. I’ve connected a Sonos Ray and two Era 100s. Additionally, I’ve connected a Move 2. When playing them all together, there’s an echo in the voices. Could the Move 2 be adjusted as a sub, or perhaps a different setting for the Move 2? The Ray and the two Era 100s are well aligned in terms of sound.

I am building a PC to connect to my TV and Sonos Arc. Currently the earc on the TV is connected directly to the Sonos Arc and I can experience Dolby Atmos on streaming content and XBSX via Dolby Atmos app. Though on XBSX I prefer PCM because there seems to be a delay due to up-mixing - I just want whatever that is encoded on the content to pass through and not be altered.Are the any recommendations for GPU and/or MoBo combo that would allow me to pass through any Spatial Audio?Do audio codecs on motherboard matter if the Arc will be receiving the pass through?Does any GPU / Mobo have an eArc port?

Hello everyone. I have an ARC Playbar and 2 “Play 1” Speakers and a Sub and I don’t understand why I can’t output Multi Channel  Stereo on my system.For the dev guys at Sonos, here is the logic behind my request. I unplug my speakers and move them through out the house when listening to music. For example, I take my “Left Play 1” outside on my patio, and my “Right Play 1” on the second floor etc. When watching a movie making the most of Dolby Atmos etc, the system is great. For Music, the fact that I can move my speakers around make Sonos the favored brand. I understand I can make a new room, but then would loose the Arc as a speaker in my main room.Maybe my limitation is around the PlayBar, which is not designed to output mono or Stereo? I know a lot of people are requesting Multi Channel Stereo, but I think it comes from the fact that its so great that all the speakers are wireless. Is creating a new room without the PlayBar the way to go here? Thanks for your help.-J

Howdy all: After a firmware update a few weeks ago, my Sonos app would no longer control the ARC/sub volume from my phone.  However, the TV was controlling the volume on the ARC/sub, no problem.  I started looking around for why this might be, and the Sonos site recommended a reboot.  I disconnected the power the ARC/sub to reboot them.  The app is now working fine controlling the volume, but now the TV is not able to control the volume.  I’ve rebooted the ARC/sub a few times now and the app continues to be the only way to control volume remotely.  The buttons on the ARC work fine too.  Besides this, the TV remote is working fine for all the rest of the functions. Sony BRAVIA OLED using the eARC HDMI connection. I validated that the Sony TV is set to control connected components.  Any thoughts would be appreciated. -Jon

Please click here to see a list of more topics around the same subject. I’ve searched and tried many things…. most recently - tried this (see below)The TV did not recognize the Sonos Arc.  On the App, I can connect and play music, but I am not able to connect the Arc to the TV.  I’ve tried unplugging everything for 10 min to reset all the port - nothingDisconnect everything from the TV and unplug the Arc and TV from power for a couple of minutes. Plug everything back in but keep everything disconnected. Make sure Simplink is enabled in the TV settings. Run TV Setup in the Sonos app and follow the app instructions. When the app instructs you, connect the Arc to the TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port (HDMI 2)using the Sonos-supplied HDMI cable. After the Arc has been successfully connected, connect any other devices to the TV.This is quite frustrating.Is there anyway to test the Arc port?  I’ve already purchased a new HDMI cabl

Hey community, question regarding Arc and supporting speaker limitations. Context:I’m way deep into the Sonos ecosystem. I have a whole house setup with multiple rooms, garage, outdoor patio, etc.  Living room setup: 1 Arc, 2 Gen 3 subs, 2 rear surround architectural Sonance paired with Sonos Amp.  I recently added 2 front architectural Sonance speakers paired with a Sonos Amp in the living room. These speakers are a game changer, and sound incredible.  Problem: you can’t add more than 1 set of speakers/Sonos amp to the Arc system. Therefore, I can’t tune the room with the additional speakers and amp. I can only Group them in the app. Any suggestions for tuning everything together. This seems like a poor limitation with Sonos.  Thanks, Michael 

Hi - just about to press the button on a cinema set up (arc, era 3’s and sub) - to connect to a tv with eARC for surround sound and Dolby Atmos etc.. Question though - can you still use either the whole system or just the arc or just the era 300s to play music through from the sonos app (completely separate to the TV) when you don’t want the TV on - and just use them like any other Sonos speaker? Or does this set up ONLY work with the TV when it’s on? Thanks.

Just bought Beam 2 to add to existing Sonos system. app on Iphone, Connected to Samsung TV, sound via Beam, recognizes eARC. Problem is:When I click Night Sound and Speech Enhance, they are selected but don’t do anything Sometimes when pause AppleTV, when unpause sound is set to zero Sometimes when return to app, shows Night Sound and Speech Enhance as unselected  best jack 

I’m currently going through the electrical phase of a new construction home, and it is an open floor concept with fairly high ceilings. I am wanting to do two in-wall speakers in the front one on each side of the TV, and two in-ceiling speakers in the back where the kitchen/island will be. The kitchen/island will be facing the living room area. Ideally I want to have all four speakers connected to the TV, but occasionally have just the two in-ceiling speakers play music when family/friends are over and surrounding the kitchen. Then I would also like to add a pair of outdoor speakers that I don’t necessarily mind if they are connected to the four indoor speakers. (I’m assuming this is best to have it’s own amp?) Edit:Should I separate the living room and kitchen/island speakers into two amps or keep them together into one amp?  Moderator Note - Combined posts.

I am trying to setup entertainment for my kids in my newly built four season room.When I hook up my Blue-Ray player there is video but no audio.But when I connect with my Roku Fire Stick I get audio and video perfectly working.Here are my components: Epson 5050UB projector HD Fury Aracana Roku Fire Stick Sony Blue Ray Player (BDP-S6700 and BDP-S185) - tried with both Sonos Beam with two Era 100 connected via wifi with Beam I also tried this with HDMI Switch before I ordered Aracana - 4K@120Hz HDMI 2.1 Switch 2 in 1 Out with Audio Extractor (Brand - Rofavezco, Model - EZ-SW21H21A-EO) and it still does not work.I have display+eARC enabled in the Aracana. Prior to connecting my Sonos Beam I enabled on CEC by connecting to a TV.

Hi everyone having a problem with beam and fives as surrounds today when listening to music using Sonos app playing Apple Music when I select sound to full mode for music it won’t change keeps playing in ambient mode I’ve tried everything is any one else having this issue 

I have just install a Beam Gen 2 with two Play:1 surround speakers & Hisense TV and I’m going through a bit of a learning curve and have a few questions.I initially connected the Beam to the HDMI port2 which is ARC compatible and the Sonos app recognised this which I thought was good. My difficulty is that when connected to the HDMI port there’s no way to control the TV volume seperate to the Sonos volume. What I was hoping and assuming is a better setup is to have no audio from the TV when using the Sonos Surround setup, the TV remote control controls both TV & Sonos and there’s no way to reduce just the TV, if I use mute option audio is muted on all devices and the TV displays a annoying mute icon. Is my assumption to not to have audio from the TV whilst using the Sonos correct and is it achievable using the HDMI Arc? Optical connection as a result of the above I used the optical converter and this does work the TV remote control controls just the TV and it’s possible to turn

I have a Sonos sound bar attached to my telly. If I buy the Sonos Roam can I connect that so I can have the music wherever I go in the house with the music still playing on the sound bar 

My parents are hard of hearing. I want to make the surrounds (Era 100) not play as surround sound but play the same audio that the Beam plays. Basically the three speakers are playing the exact same thing. Is that possible?
