Good Evening,

I am trying for months now to try to hear when I’m watching TV or a movie people talking/voices from my Sonos ERA100 that are behind my coach ok each side.

i only hearing people voices from the Sonos BEAM. All is in surround mode… the people voices/talking do not come out clearly…I mostly hear the music from the movies I am watching.

would it be possible to have some help ?

If I understand your post properly, what you’re wanting is not surround speakers, but a duplication of the Beam’s center (mostly voice) channel, something that Sonos does not really offer. You could potentially ‘group’ your Era 100s with your Beam, rather than set them up as surrounds, and then get, with a 75 Ms delay, the ‘center’ channel. But Sonos doesn’t really offer a system designed for the ‘hard of hearing’.

Your surround speakers are working, I think, as designed, playing the surround aspect of the movies.

Hi,

indeed, in the end I don’t really need the surround. To me, the beam, mini sub & era100 are already grouped. When I take off the surround mode I no longer here a thing from the ERA100 speakers.

can you help in this case ?

thank you,

Allsun

In Sonos terms, they are ’bonded’ as surrounds. You’d need to ‘unbond’ them in the controller, then ‘group’ the two resulting rooms, after which you’d then get the 75ms delay between the content from the TV on the Beam, and any ‘grouped’ rooms.

Surrounds do not repeat the fronts, nor do they carry much dialog, unless it is off screen.  They are there for atmospherics and directional effects, so they are working as designed.

The film’s director determines what voices, if any, come from the rear.

Thank you all for your help & feedbacks.

really useful.

have a pleasant end of weekend

I see from your profile that you’re in France (something I don’t often check, unfortunately), but I will say best of luck, and translate this using Apple’s translate function.

Je vois sur votre profil que vous êtes en France (quelque chose que je ne vérifie pas souvent, malheureusement), mais je vais vous souhaiter bonne chance, et traduire ceci en utilisant la fonction de traduction d'Apple.
