Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have just changed to EE from Bt with a new router and I need to know the correct Path for my music folder 

I have a Sonos Arc, Roam 2 and Beam. The Arc is in our living room, the Beam in an upstairs room. Especially when I use voice control (which is only set on the Arc), sometimes the app shows the Beam in use. If I change the player to the Arc, it seems confused and tries to play what was on the Beam on the Arc.For instance, if I had the TV sound on the Arc, it will play music from the Beam until I change it on the app to TV. If I had the Roam linked to the Arc, it’s worse. Can I set a default player on the app? I don’t use the Beam very often. 

I’ve been having issues with streaming my music library through Sonus for over a year, so am finally looking at buying a Bluetooth speaker, probably the Era 100. Can I then link it to my existing Play 1 speakers, so I don’t have to replace everything? 

Deezer tracks not playing, error msg ref insufficient network to maintain buffer etc.  

Hi,Newbie here hoping someone can help..have a play 1 and 3 and a beam. Play 1 and 3 seem to work fine and as expected when beam is not powered on. However once beam is on both play 1 and 3 disappear from sonos app which is very frustrating. Hasnt always been like this but xant quite pin point when it started happening 

The community indicates that the greyed out music library can be fixed by accepting the update, however my system is up to date and there is no update to accept.   is there any other solution?Thank you

Hello 👋🏼… I have a problem here that I can’t solve .. as I connect my era 100 as surround to my arc ultra … as the app tell me to choose witch one makes the sound to select it as right or left surround … after completing and successfully saves the surrounds .. the don’t play … instead they are at the system as arc ultra not registered x 2 I deleted the app and reinstall it .. I did factory reset the eras over 5 times.. I reset the network .. I did everything .. and nothing works .. when I reset to factory and put them again to my system they work as standalone or as a pair just fine … but not as surround set for the arc ultra ..: need help here plz !!!      

Since upgrading to the latest firmware and app release we no longer see Play:1 units and I notice they are stuck on 17.2.1 firmware. They are visible in the Mac app and playable and groups from there. Also, Home Assistant can manage the units.

For about the past week (seems like there is a new S2 controller update out), I will lose access to some, but not, of my speakers from the Android app. Currently controller is Build 80.29.6. This is happening on both my tablet and phone. Right now, two of the four speakers show No Content even through music is coming out of them. If I try to play something, I get the message “Couldn’t play Content.  Something went wrong.” This happens with a TuneIn or Sonos radio station, Spotify, and my local music library. If I reboot the router and all of the speakers, it will work for several hours and then start displaying this problem. This first two days it occurred it also progressed about about 10 hours to not being able to find any speaker on the network. Again, they play fine using the play/pause button on the speaker or the Windows 11 app. Any thoughts? Hope for a fix soon?Thanks,  Bryan

Well the app has changed and now problems are back. Can’t connect try again. All over the place. Takes 15 minutes just to try to get one damn playlist going.

The voice does not match the mouth 

Hi,i have an old home theather setup, including amplifier, speakers, lp player and pre amp. I want to replace the system with something more simple, getting rid of the multiple cables. What would be your suggestion for replacing this system with sonos? Ideally, I would be happy with just the Arc - but it doesnt support LP player. It also feels stupid to buy and era 100 just to connect my LP player or spend nearly 400€ for the port (highly more than my old LP player). What would be your suggestion for replacing my old set up?

Sonos instructions state press power on wait for pairing tone and light flashing blue, press button no pairing sound and light flashing green??

hi all - so now I'm attempting to connect a few hifi components…Pro-ject S3 CD Player+Pro-ject Tuner Box S3 DAB++Pro-ject T1 Evo Phono turntable+Pro-ject Stereo Box E integrated amp+Sonos Era 100s (set up as stereo pair)So firstly it seems there aren’t enough inputs on the back of the Stereo Box E for all this. Secondly, even connecting all but one component (the DAB) I still can’t get any sound out of my speakers.Would a different amp solve this?thanks :) James

Is there a way to set the volume to an auto setting? By that I mean the sound difference between shows and commercials.  The commercials are typically much louder than the shows we are watching,  which results in constantly changing the volume up and down.  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you

Changed internet to Virgin and wow what a nightmare again, this time much worse tbh, having to reset all speakers, can’t connect bean to Sonos 1 surround or the sub, I was okay with using the s1 app before but seems my beam connected to the new Sonos app but S1 not so can’t link surround help prior to all in the bin 

I have the following setup.Apple TV Connected to TV using a HDMI Port. | Sonos ARC Ultra connected to TV using the HDMI eARC port.Everything works fine via CEC, I am able to control the volume and TV Power ON/Off using the Apple TV remote. Most of the time during the day usage, when I switch on/off the TV it goes to the standby mode and wakes up quickly.However, in the morning after 8-10 hrs of sleep time, when I power on the Apple TV , the TV restarts [shut down and starts] . I have tried switching the HDMI cable & performed HDMI refresh also, didn't resolve the issue. This doesn't happen when I connect the Sonos ARC Ultra to the Apple TV using the AirPlay, so I assume this is to do with the HDMI connection. Looking for a solution here. 

Hi - I want to reset the Sonos system to get the maximum benefit on sound

I am trying to find the setting for managing guest access in the iOS app. https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/adjust-connection-security-settings When I follow the instructions of the article, I am not seeing the options that are described in the article. I am going to:Account / Legal and Privacy Section / Privacy & Security The only options displayed are “Additional Usage Data” and “Personalization Service” and nothing about managing guest access. I reached out to support and they only had me follow the same steps, ensured my app was up to date, and then suggested a full reboot of my router (???) and deleting and reinstalling the app. Surely the app was just updated and the setting was moved / removed and their support article simply wasn’t updated. Bumping this thread.Setting the volume limits in the app is NOT actually setting the limits - it just diminishes that speaker’s volume completely.I’d like to be able to set a room’s limit, so not only can I never turn it up beyond the set level individually, when I have multiple rooms selected, the “all volume” button caps at that limit for that room.Example - ‘Bedroom’ Is Set to 7Individual SpeakerI can use the slider (or the volume button on my phone) or the physical volume button to adjust that single speaker.I can cycle up through 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. If I try to take it higher, it won’t go.Group SpeakersI have Living Room

Understand I could do own reserach but hoping those who have done these can provide answers. I currently have a pair of Sonos Five speakers and a Sub Gen 2 for music listening nicely setup - very happy although a second Sub will be even more awesome. I also have the following older gear in storage - 3x Sonos Play 5 Gen 1 (S1 app only) speakers and a Sonos Connect:Amp Gen 2 (S1/S2 app compatible) all in excellent condition.I have a vague impression from reading somewhere that the Connect:Amp can be connected wirelessly to Sonos devices. So I wonder if below are possible:Using S1 app > Connact:Amp > wireless 2x Play 5 Gen 1 speakers + a suitable non-Sonos sub via wired sub-out Using S2 app > Connect:Amp > wireless 2x Five speakers + wireless Sub Gen 2Reason for deploying the the Connect:Amp is I am thinking of using the line-in feature. Hi, just bought three Era 100s, and set up two of them as a stereo pair with a Beam under the TV.I’m attempting to plug in a Pro-Ject cd player using the Sonos adapter with a QED 3.5mm Jack to Phono cable. Problem is the line-in isn’t showing up in the app as suggested everywhere.I tried the usual restarts, router, app, phone, sign-out/in, made sure the cables are pushed home, etc.Weird thing is, the menu shows up, albeit greyed out, under the bedroom Era 100 which its not connected to.Any thoughts?!JB

I have a Scott LK 72 Amplifier that I want to integrate into my SONOS System using a Port. I am using the Tape Out on the Amp as my Input to the Port and the Extra on the Amp as my Output from the Port. I am concerned about the Load Resistance and Capacitance on the Port and the compatibility with the jacks on the amp. The Scott Tape Output jacks are rated at 200 k ohms and Capacitance at 200 pF. I do believe that the Port Input jacks are rated at 10 k ohms and 100-200 pF. Would there be an issue with this setup seeing as how the impedance on the Port is not adjustable.

I’ve read about an issue with the alarms on Sonos systems from earlier this year, with most people saying they have now been fixed.Unfortunately since the last update for the app a week ago the alarm on my system doesn’t go off. I switch it on in the app, it switches it off straight away. I can’t create a new alarm. I’ve tried resetting the Sonos, force closing the app - nothing works. Any suggestions?!

One of my Sonos speakers was making a crazy “ding dong” sound. I tried everything to make it stop. Solution unplugged speaker let the battery discharge. The “ding dong” continued until the battery was completely discharged. I then plugged the speaker back in and allowed it to charge again and the “ding dong” is gone and my Sonos system is working fine now.  Technology just needs a reset every now and then.
