Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Do Sonos publish any technical documentation anywhere? Specifically I’m looking for: A list of error codes and what they meanDetailed requirements for a CIFS share to be eligible to be added to a music library.  If not, why not?

After the most recent sonos update, I cannot add symfonisk bookshelf speakers to the app.I have tried: reseting devicetransferring ownership to same account Any other ideas?? @sonos any rep can comment on this?

I can no longer control the volume on one of my speakers. It plays at the same lower volume no matter what the slide control shows on the app. The other speaker’s volume is fine. 

I have just updated Sonos and it won’t play on my mobile or Mac - with the app or the online web page.I get a message saying ‘Something went wrong’.I have a party tomorrow!!!what can I do?

While you’re fixing the app to actually work, could you make the time counter easier to use so that I can pause and rewind a podcast as desired. Now, I have to go to the desktop controller and move the counter with mouse. How I miss the old controllers.

The following is a copy of the email that I just sent to SONOS’ CEO.  There was no other address on the website, and I am tired of waiting (multiple times) on hold.I might have sent this to tech support, but there is no address listed on your website - only yours.  Just as well.  I tried calling several times over the last couple weeks, and the shortest wait time was 45 minutes.  Unacceptable.  I have a SONOS One that has worked splendidly for several years since I bought it.  I'm sure you're aware of the issues with the new app, and they have affected me as well.  I can no longer get it to connect with my network, and I have combed through your support section as well as multiple other blogs, done multiple factory resets of the speaker, multiple reboots of both the speaker and my router, deleted my old account and set up a new one under a different email, deleted and reloaded the app on my phone twice, and tried connecting the speaker to my system at least a dozen times using both Wi-

I have a new Songs Beamer since yesterday. I am not able to Connect the Sonos App to the beam. Reset did not help. WLAN is the Same. I have no clue what could be wrong. Any idea?

Sonos won’t add my sub and arc to my Sonos account even after multiple factory resets. 

Anyone else having this issue with the new Sonos App?  I have Sonos Playlists from different services, Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Slacker and they used to all play at the same volume level.  Yesterday, I was playing music for a pool party and the volume was way loud with some songs and other way quiet.  First time I’ve had this issue but it was extremely annoying.  Guest were displeased, and neighbors likely offended.  Had to keep modifying the volume every two or three songs.  Kinda made Sonos unusable.  Two questionsanyone else having this issue? Did the old S2 app have a Volume Normalization?  (think I remember that but don’t have access to S2 anymore).

Is it just me that can not get this new App to download

I have a Roam speaker and hav had issues with it from day one.  It will not stay connected to my system so I have to add it back in every time I try and use it, and when I say try and use it after adding it back in to the system the audio never works.  It says it is okay but there is no sound from this speaker.  Frustrating to say the leastAlso I have tried to contact guest services and continually get booted from chat Moderator edit: combined posts

My SONOS App screen has frozen apart from the status window which refreshes at the bottom my IPhone screen. The radio still plays on my speakers when manually selected. How do I reset the App to regain control?This is a recent problem and I have not changed anything on my SONOS or IPhone.

I can’t control anything on the new app. Appalling delays in starting, moving on tracks, adjusting the volume or stopping the music. It’s a disaster. The old app was much better at these tasks. What have done?

Hi, I have around 10 Sonos speakers around the house. All of them work with out any issues (leaving aside the new app issues). I have a Sonos Port that I use with a garden speaker system. If I want to group the Port to the rest of the speakers I get an error "unable to connect. Please try again later". If I connect to the Port alone it works fine. I have tried the usual, reinstall app, delete cache and storage, etc etc. Any ideas what could I try? Is this releated to the new App disaster?By the way, three days ago I was FORCED to update to the new app. I've been using 16.1 till now. Thanks everyone for the help on this.

Upgraded my Sonos system from Play 1 and Play 3 thinking that newer models would work with the app since they haven’t worked AT ALL since May no matter how many times I attempted to add them back into the system. Boy was I wrong!!!!!! I receive the error message that no products are attached to my network. So I need to add new my speakers back into my internet system. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And once the speakers are added back into the system, they don’t show up in the app. I can tell a speaker to play something by using “Hey Sonos” and it will play but it does not respond to Alexa or Siri. And still does not show up in the system.None of the speakers show up on the app, so of course I can’t group them. I’ve just about had it with this app and am about 1 day from sending this crap back for a refund.  

Today I added a Sub Mini to a pair of ERA100s and am surprised by how lackluster this speaker is. Our bedroom is quite small—about 10’x11’—and being familiar with subwoofers, I expected to hear some major bass. The Sub Mini is kind of in a corner and when I brought it out a couple of feet, didn’t hear a difference. I tried different kinds of music, including some electronic dub music that’s heavy on the bass. I also made sure one of the open areas of the speaker was facing forward.Even more surprising, when I made adjustments using the Sonos app on my iPhone, I could hear no difference at all. I turned the Sub Mini up as far as it would go, no difference. I tried to switch the phase from 0 to 180, and this button doesn’t work at all. And then when I removed the Sub Mini from the system while it was playing music, I closed my eyes and waited to hear a difference. But I could discern none. So what is going on? The Sub Mini is working. I verified this by putting my leaning down right in f

 I cannot get past "Access to shared Folder is denied……Was on the phone with Sonos but when we became disconnected, they didn't call back.I've used Sonos for over ten years but this is a new annoyance.

My Sonos move is flashing white, I have tried multiple times to do a factory reset. I have no chime when I turn it off like the reset mentions. Speaker also no longer is showing up on the app. I have updated my network with no success to the speaker. Has anyone successfully done a factory reset without hearing the charm etc. Is the speaker done with?

Hi,I’m considering purchasing the Sonos 5. My current problem is I own 4 IKEA/Sonos symfonisk speakers which are great however they seem to suffer from network connectivity issues from time to time. My question is whether or not adding a Sonos 5 would fix this problem as it has perhaps more dedicated hardware to address the sonos net issues.I have a very modern Unifi Dream Router and a dedicated network just for Sonos but it still requires being restarted every few weeks or reseting sonos speakers which is a bit annoying. It even seems to occasionally affect 2 of the speakers which are directly connected by ethernet.Is there any evidence to support my theory that adding a Sonos Five would fix this? Thanks

I doubt this will cover any ground that hasn’t already been covered but I am at that stage where I just need to air all the problems and issues I have after the disastrous May update and all the subsequent updates.I’m no expert in these matters but know enough to at least set up and use Sonos and also connect up a NAS drive to play my music library. All the speakers operate wirelessly. My broadband connection is fast and there are no reception dead spots in the house - it’s a bungalow. The speakers are 2 x Play 3 plus a Playbase, sub and 2 x One which form myTV room sound system.Whilst the app has never been perfect, it was at least generally OK and fit for purpose. A few little niggles and issues here and there but nothing that couldn’t usually be fixed by simply resetting the app, rebooting the router or turning Sonos products off and back on.After reading about all the problems with the new update I simply reverted back to the old version of the app. I have monitored the general vie

It’s the 4th of July, having a get-together and NO MUSIC!!!! Ever since the new software update, Sonos hasn’t been playing anything. I’ve done everything, including removing and reinstalling the app. Any other work arounds? THIS SUCKS and now I’m thinking a new sound system is in order 

Hello all,I'm lucky enough to have 2 tablets. I kept the old and working app on my first Android tablet and have the new app on my latest addition.My favorites are grayed out on the new app and are totally unusable. This was, by the way, the only published possibility to keep the custom radio streams following  the decomissioning of the old TuneIn service.At the end, one cannot add or edit custom radio stations and even use the old ones. And when the user uses the old app, playing those custom radios is randomly cut after a few seconds or minutes resulting into an cryptic error message.Has anyone been able to solve these issues?By the way, congratulations to Sonos to have trashed an slightly imperfect app to replace it by this actual nightmare.

Played as normal and experiensed that my living room setup didn’t get full sound, stopped all other rooms and now I don’t get access ? 

When Sonos ‘upgraded’ its app, I pretty much lost everything.  I have a large music collection and I prefer to keep it on my MacBook where there is enough storage for it.  When the ‘upgrade’ occurred, I had already spent HOURS getting the app working again after an automatic update happened sometime in January while I was away.  I returned home and none of the 8 speakers matched their labels anymore, songs would not play completely and music bounced from one speaker to another.  When I called Sonos, one rep told me I should not have set the updates to automatic.  Another one altered my email so the remedy didn’t get to me for several weeks--after I wrote a snail mail letter to the CEO.  I have now moved away from the Sonos app and am just using Apple AirPlay.  Is anyone else going this route?  I don’t have many of the issues I was having with Sonos.
