Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi. Looking at 6 inch sonance ceiling speakers, and was also looking at 2nd hand ones too due to budget.  There seem to be so many different model numbers.  Most websites do not even state what model numbers they sell and it's typically only 1 6 inch option. Are the different model numbers just different models over the years or are there actually a choice.  The bundles with the amp prices seem to vary so much but not sure if this is due to a cheaper sonance speaker or just a genuinely good price, I can't tell because they don't state what model the sonance speaker is.

My system is on 8.4 and walled from app updates.  I have 3 CR100 controllers that amazingly have not exploded yet.  One still has the original battery, 2 have been upgraded for a few bucks from ebay.  My main question is if I were to get an old Play:5 that someone upgraded to V11 something, is there any chance of downgrading the firmware to 8.4 to be compatible with my system? ****************So far my issues with being on 8.4 include:a Sonos One that lost Alexa, but cannot be re-registered without having a phone that has both Sonos 8.4 and the current version of Alexa on the same device, phone only.  I preserved my old Android phone with Sonos 8.4 but it will not update Alexa to the latest, and my current phone is iPhone and research says I can’t sideload the Sonos app on iOS.  I have other Alexa in my system but for some reason Alexa will not control *playing* on Sonos but Alexa will *stop playing* what I’m playing on Sonos.  I can say “Alexa, ask Plex to play Playlist” and she will

I have been waiting on a response to the alarm not working now the app doesn't open? Can we not just switch to the prior app?

Hi everyone,I currently have a 3.1 system: a gen 1 Beam, gen 3 subwoofer and 2-One SL’s for the rear speakers.  I am thinking of upgrading to a 5.1 system by replacing my Beam with a gen 2, and adding 2-Era 100’s.  I would love to get 2-Era 300’s instead, but not in the budget.  My question:  If I upgrade I will have 2-One SL’s and 2-Era 100’s.  Which set should be front speakers and which should be the rear? Or does it matter?Thanks,D

The source option for tv hdmi keeps disappearing on the app , one minute it works the next it doesn’t . Then when I click on the beam 2 in the control centre it cuts the sound off the tv . the sonos five has stopped working also , any ideas ? 

Why is it so hard to find the version number of the current app and version number of the new release or is yet more smoke and mirrors. Role back is the answer.

This past weekend I had placed 2 of my Move 1's outside in my backyard. I had a large group of people so the volume levels where up to about 70%. Streaming Spotify through the app. At some point both Move's where only playing the higher frequency and lost mid range and bass. The next day I tried to trouble shoot the sound quality issue. What finally worked was turning the speaker off and then back on. Has anyone else experienced this? Was it the high volume level or possible heat? I have had these Moves for a couple years and never had this happened before..

Purchased a used Sonos Beam Gen 2 which works fine connected to my TV. I’m having issues connecting it to my iPhone app and the Windows Desktop App. I tried the resetting method and it stays blinking white and orange light and won’t show green. I’ve tried both the ethernet cable and the 2.4ghz wifi method.  Using the web browser to connect to the speaker it shows the following under Sonos Support Info:ZoneName Living Room LocalUID RINCON_542A1B834E0901400 Configuration 1 IPAddress 192.168.1.19 SoftwareVersion 70.3-35220 HardwareVersion 1.23.1.11-1.2 SWGen 2 QuarantineReason secreg  Is it because the QuarantineReason field is showing “secreg”??

What new product will replace the connect amp?

Hi Amazing people,I recently purchased Sonos beam gen 2, I noticed sound is more left centric than balanced. Left side speaker is more crispy and right side one (fourth speaker from left) is little muffle. I also saw many users complaining about it when googled about this issue. But no resolution!is it something engineered this way ? Or my product is defective ? Kindly suggest as I am in lots of confusion

Hi, trying to set up a new Sonos system, can’t add BBC Sounds, it doesn’t appear in the list of available services. I’m physically in the UK. My address on my profile is in the UK and has been for over 24 hours now. I’ve attempted several updates but they all come back saying nothing to update. Anything else to try?

Sometime in the past month, the Sonos app has started to continuously stream a silent stream to my hearing aids, from launching the app until it is killed by flicking out of the app list. This is more of a problem that it sounds, because the hearing aids basically stop working while this is happening; you can’t hear people talking to you, and you can’t hear the music you’re trying to play or judge the volume you’re playing it at. Other iOS apps do it too (Shazam, Spotify) so I’m guessing it’s a iOS app kludge. There was a similar issue 6 years ago:  I’m sure the app team is swamped at the moment, but it would be great to hear that this issue is understood, and would be addressed at some point.

I’ve noticed the Sonos Ace on the lowest possible volume step on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro are quite a bit louder than competing headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM5 and AirPods Max. When the Ace are at like 5%, that volume is equivalent to around 15% on the Sonys and 20% on the AirPods Max.Not sure if this is an intentional design decision or not, but given that adjustments at low volume on the Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone barely seem to move the volume up, I wanted to flag it. Devices tested on: iPhone 15 Pro Max, Pixel 8 Pro Sonos Ace Mode: Wireless, Bluetooth Connection Headphones benchmarked against: Sony WH1000XM5, AirPods Max

My sonos system consists of the (Arc, Era 300 Surrounds, Sub gen 3). I’m writing this due to issues i have with the connectivity of the system, recently (I’ve got no clue if the issue is due to the recent Sonos  App revamp) all of my speakers refuse to connect together with the arc leaving all of them standalone units that cannot be setup again, the setup menu appears in the app but after trying just loads indefinitely. I’ve tried resetting every unit including the Arc and it worked for a couple of days but then the issue repeats itself. I honestly have no clue as to what to do to get the system up and running again, this is really frustrating as i often use Dolby atmos and I can’t seem to get the full experience with a system that isn’t functioning. Not to mention that i also have a Sonos One pair which completely disappeared from the system and a Sonos One SL that disappeared from the system as well. 

I have a Playbar connected to my TV via a direct optical connection. The last time I looked there was a setting to fine tune audio output to account for out-of-sync video. I can’t find that setting in the new app. Has it been removed?

I have 2 era 100s in two rooms. One is in the kitchen and is great. Sometimes I like to bring the second one in to make a stereo pair which sounds much better. However this is difficult as the mains wire is looped through furniture so I would like a second mains wire. No other wires fit the era 100 (I have a five, sub and beam) and I can't find one for sale. Any suggestions on how to get a mains wire or do I need to look at a cheap Chinese one? Surely someone else has had this issue or has damaged a cable and needs a replacement. 

can anyone helpI have 5 Sonos Devices, only 1 is airplay compatible, I want to play downloaded purchased music from my phone, is linking possible to play music via  Airplay to all speakers into the rest of my network?  

I have a port which I connect a Sonos One Gen 1 that I upgraded to Gen 2.  The upgraded of the Sonos One from Gen 1 (purchased Feb/2018 to Gen 2 was excruciating.  I learned in order to have a stereo affect with two Sonos One devices they need to be compatible.  Question - If I buy a Sonos One Gen 2 will it be compatible with my Sonos One which I upgraded to Gen 2?  Thank you  

This may have been mentioned before, but a quick search didn’t find anything.Note first that I’m still running S1. (I know, lucky me.) It’s possible that the same will apply to S2.Starting a few weeks ago, I noticed that many of the SXM stations I had added to my SONOS Favorites were no longer displaying cover art and song/artist/album info. Oh, well, at least the music was still playing.This morning I happened to select one of my SXM SONOS Favorites directly from the SXM “Browse” interface, and suddenly the missing info was displayed. Switched back to the Favorites selection; still missing there. So I deleted all of the SXM stations from my SONOS Favorites list and re-added them, and now I know who’s singing.

I was trying to see if anyone else has posted this but couldn’t find anything. My biggest issue with the new app is that we’ve lost the ability to skip forward/backward 15-30 seconds at a time within the Libby and Pocket Casts apps. I use those way more than any other app and often use those features. Please try to bring them back!

Just added a sub to my system, it connects to the ARC but doesn’t play anything.If I connect it to a Play:3 it works fine, so what am I missing?All speakers running over Wifi at Present Sonos support are telling me it’s impossible to connect it to a Play:3 so i’m not holding out much hope for them to be any helpModerator edit: combined posts

After the disastrous S2 update where my Play1 devices just stopped working, I have once again got back on that horse to see if the issue was fixed with the latest update. Can I use my Beam 2 as a soundbar in my caravan with no wi-fi

Hi,I just bought Sonos speaker (Ikea Symfonik) and configured it on my network. The installation in with the app was seamless, I can play music from app or through Air Play. However, I and my family are using Spotify, so that this is my priority to make Spotify working.When I open Spotify and see all available outputs, the speaker is here. However, when I try to select this speaker, it starts connecting but after few seconds, the connection fails.I don’t know, if anything changed - because in step by step guides there is written “Login to spotify in the Sonos app”. However, the Spotify is not in the “Your services” section. There is Apple Music and couple of other services, but not Spotify.Thanks,Jindrich
