Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

In the new desktop app, Sonos will play songs from my music library as it always has.  Towards the end of a song, though, I will frequently get a popup saying something like Unable to play, the song is not encoded correctly.  This happens after the song has played and does not interrupt the playback.  The message appears briefly, then vanishes.  The app will then move to the next track in the queue as expected.Setup:Room 1: Sonos Ray + 2x Play:1 + Sub. Room 2: Sonos Beam + 2x Play:1 + Sub. Each room connected to a television via fiber optic cable. Desktop app running on a Mac Mini M2 system under macOS Sonoma. Music library on a Linux server with access via Samba (CIFS). Music library is large, 14,000+ tracks. Tracks mostly FLAC, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, some Mp3 and Apple M4a.  The encoding does not seem to matter.  The message will appear for any. I managed to get my music library back, without playlists, in July.  In late August Sonos updated and now I can’t get my music library back.  Even the Sonos Tech said I “did everything right” by following your posted procedure, and he tried multiple times - added the library successfully, but could not get Sonos to find any song in the library.Library is connectedPath is correct.Filer persons for Share are correct.BUT Sonos just shows “No selections are available” I don’t even know what that means.Interestingly, Sono’s plays music from my library on based on the ques I manually made and saved as “sonos favorites” in the Sonos System.  I don’t know what is going on. 

What happened to Sonos? Honestly I’m just curious at this point. I’ve never seen such good engineering hit the wall with ridiculously bad software. It’s hard to believe how bad the quality of Sonos app is now . My prayers and frustration go out to SONOS 

I've had my Sonos system for about 2 months now, but I notice that every so often it disconnects from the app and gets unconfigured, having to reset the entire system and reconfigure it with some kind of problems. How can I avoid this? My WiFi signal is 100%

I’m sitting on my couch trying to watch The Witcher using 2 Play 5s and 1 Play 1. They WILL NOT group despite multiple attempts, reboots etc. I just get a simple non descript message saying “could not connect” related to the SINGLE Play 1. This is just 1 problem of dozens since I was forced to adopt the s2 update turd that dropped in May.  I’ve just about given up. I’m embarrassed for Sonos. What a piece of crap this system has become. I’ve had people over to listen to music or watch tv crippled by lack of sound through my Sonos speakers. So I should say I am embarrassed for myself for choosing to invest in this hunk of cow dung known as Sonos. 

Hi all, Since the latest app this week I can no longer connect to the second system at our holiday house. It works on the Windows app but not on iPhone or Android. In other words, it's not really usable to have to get out a laptop to launch music, manage volumes, etc. The Apple and Android apps just say they can't find a system on this network then ask to update the network. When we do that, it still doesn't work. The fact that it does work on Windows suggests the issue is with the new crApp. Another fail from the super heros we pay lots of money to. Sorry to say that SONOS team but you are very clearly not testing your software before launching it on us, your paying customers.  GET IT RIGHT...please. 

My amp is auto adjusting to 15. What’s the fix. 

Hey everyone, this may be old news, but just thought I would pass this along in case it would be helpful given the challenges that the Sonos app is having at the moment. So I’ve been a long time Sonos equipment owner / advocate of and for the products and I’ve read so much recently (e.g., posts, news reports, etc.) about the challenges with the new app, but I don’t recall seeing much about how WELL th Mac IOS app works… kinda like the old days, at least for what I use it for. Just good old fashioned listening to music across different rooms in my house.  Give it a shot and see what you think. Hope this is helpful to the Sonos community.

I’ve been using my Sonos one for 1,5 years now to wake up to a spotify playlist every morning. All of a sudden it started playing the default alarm sound instead - even when I’ve reset the alarm or created a new alarm with the same settings. Any tips? <33

Today I tried to play. My whole library is “mp3ed”. Tried to update the library; doesn’t update. Went to “music library settings” and there was no source folder listed. Tried to add my source folder, which is on an external drive---WOULDN’T LET ME!!!! whaaaaaaaaaat?

So I have home theater set up in an open floor plan, meaning Beam gen 2 with the TV, sofa closer to the TV (not middle of the room), and era 100s far behind in the kitchen.  Surround settings work great for TV and Music:  I can bump up TV level to reach the sofa, and more even level with Music as I’m more mobile and/or in the kitchen which leaves the sound more immersive everywhere with a sweet spot closer to mid room (and Music playback set to Full).  The problem is TruePlay sounds great for TV (rightly so as it is tuned for when I’m on the couch), but not for Music: most notable there’s a delay between the TV and surrounds, makes the music sound live instead of crisp.  This is explainable since it’s optimized again for one is sitting where tuned.  But it leaves me toggling TruePlay on and off depending if I’m watching TV on the sofa vs listening to Music (especially not on the sofa).  So, my question is there are way around this?  Otherwise, my ask is it would be really useful to hav

My Sonos has just gone, died! stopped playing radio and cant access hard drive for music. Have messaged a friend and she’s having same issue. What’s going on? Anyone know. This service is getting worse and worse.

I’m unable to pin some Apple Music sections to my Home Screen in the app. Ex “Top Picks”, “Made For You”, “Stations For You” can’t be pinned. Library features can be pinned.  Is this a bug, missing feature, expected behaviour with this POS app?  Anyone know? 

when playing music from my Synology NAS drive using the ds audio app, i get no sound from Sonos speakers.  Files show they are playing, but no sound

I have two play 1’s which the app can see just fine as a stereo pair, white lights on the speakers and all good to go. Except that when I try to play anything it just thinks about it forever and I get no music, just a spinning circle where the play icon was. My music services are all connected, I can search for any music I want to play, all the expected results come up,  just can’t actually play it. The best system is now the worst, no way am I ever buying another speaker from this utter shambles, I’ve ummed and aahed about getting shiny new Sonos speakers but the entire company and product has been absolutely crap for months now and I’m done.

While using the app on my Android phone, when I get an incoming call I no longer have access to the app in order to mute or turn down the music until I answer the call, and ask them wait a minute until I navigate back to the app to turn down the music. Is there a way around this? For instance, an (always on top) set of controls, or a setting to auto mute during incoming calls, or something like that.

Music on my Mac again not visible (No selections are available), starting yesterday.  (This occurred before after the “upgrade”, but I managed to get it working for a couple of months.  Restarted, dropped and re-added library, blah bal blah.Any ideas?  I’m ready to toss Sonos and buy new speakers (I was about to buy more Sonos speakers before the upgrade disaster).

Since an inadvertent lapse allowed my two Play 1 speakers to be updated a few weeks ago, I have no longer been able to use my S2 App which I had previously been very happy with. I have been using the Windows Desktop App to play my music. Not very convenient but it least it works. Or it did until today. Now it says it has found my system but clicking ‘Lets connect’ never works. See below screenshots. Have SONOS changed something else without me knowing again??Any help or ideas would be appreciated? I have completely lost faith in SONOS which I previously loved for many years.I tried chatting to support but after answering a long list of questions the bot decided it couldn’t help me and basically shut my issue down. How to win friends and influence people - NOT.   

Hello,I've been struggling with a problem with Sonos and Spotify for a few days now. I can't play playlists in the Sonos app. The playlist displays correctly, if I click on any song in the playlist, the first song starts playing, if I subsequently click on any other song, the message "Something went wrong..." appears.What works is clicking on the "Next track" icon. Video:  Other services like Youtube Premium work fine. Playing directly in the Spotify app works as well.What solutions have I tried?- restarting the router- restarting all Sonos devices- Deleting apps (Sonos and Spotify) and their data- Reset all Sonos devices to their default stateNothing helped.Has anyone solved this problem? I have in parts a pretty old system:two play:1 from 2014, paired with a sub from 2019 two move from 2020it’s never hard connection problems. e.g. I see all speakers in my system. and I can always start music on them. but the reaction time is terrible. changing a song sometimes can take 10-30 sec and is almost never instant. same for changing the volume. sometimes it doesn’t react at all and I can not even stop the music any more. there is one peculiar effect, that might ring a bell with someone: if I switch from bluetooth to sonos the music continues on spotify, but I don’t have any sound. only if I change the position in the song the sound will come.I did the commonly recommended things like resetting router and speaker. but if you think it makes sense to do it again, should I try with only a subset of speakers first? I never have any other problems with my WIFI/router. obviously it’s not the internet connection (via bluetooth everything is fine) I usually control the music via the sp

Woke up this morning to my sonos alarm on my wall mounted Ray going off so I get up and grab my phone to shut it off..   It wasn't listed in my system anymore only one of my Roams.. Later this morning my connect and my other roam appears in the app but still no ray and nor does my bookshelf I logged into my computer to check emails and decided to look at the sonos app on it and sure enough was my Ray and my bookshelf BUT not my roams or connect.Here is a Pic of both my android and pc app side by side. Note: at this time only my ray is connected by wire.  

I get it, you can’t use Roam and Move as surround speakers.  But it would be nice if you could.  I want to use roam in the bedroom on the nightstand because of the small footprint and the small room.   so what would happen if you had a charging base that was part of the Sonos surround to connect with your main channel (arc, beam, etc.) then when the roam is on the charging base, the system treats it as a surround.  When you remove it, the base says ‘there is nothing here’. This would allow me to snag one to take to the pool during the day and watch a movie at night.  just think about it. Plus it’s another way for you to suck about $200 out of my pocket. 

Would like to connect what is playing in the Era 100 Bluetooth speaker (the turntable, a phone) to the rest of the Sonos speaker system, primarily play speakers. Is that possible?

Hello,we had that issue already with the old app, but there we saw a lot more.With the new iOS-App, I can only see round about 30 Albums instead of 230. And it is not possible to sort them in a correct order.The artist is from Apple Music.Why is the list filtered by Sonos? I would expect the same result in the Sonos app and in the Apple Music app.Best RegardsChristian

I have an Playbar and 2 x Sonos One’s set up for surround sound. The left speaker has started crackling when watching the TV. I can’t highlight when this happens as it is intermittent and sporadic and very annoying😡Any ideas about what’s going on?
