Stream audio from Sony TV to Sonos in ceiling speakers?

My home came with 3 Sonos Amps in a tech closet and 3 sets of speakers (Kitchen, Patio, and Finished Basement).  All of the speakers are in the ceiling and I can stream to them using an App on my iPhone.

I just hung a Sony TV (Google O/S) in my finished basement.  Is there a way to send the audio from the TV to the ceiling speakers in the basement?  I can’t run any kind of wire from the TV to the Amps as they are through several walls and 40ish feet away,

Thank you.

Hi @setjrsjas, welcome to the Sonos Community!

Without running any cables from the TV to the Amp, then there isn’t any way to send the TV audio to your speakers that’s supported. For Home Theater and TV audio, we recommend an optical or HDMI connection, anything else is an unsupported setup.

There are wireless solutions out there that you could use, but by using these you’ll likely run into audio dropouts, interference issues, and delays.

You could hack something together but as said it wouldn't be good. Better a Sonos sound bar or the new Amp (with an HDMI input) and another set of speakers, maybein wall for better sound.

As a hack you could use any Sonos with a line-in port and Group it with your existing Amps. Unavoidable sound delay with this.
