Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

[forgive the typo in the headline, can’t edit that]I setup my brand new Move 2 using the app over my gigabit mesh WiFi (so speed isn’t a factor) but when I try to play music from Spotify or Pandora on the Move 2 it cuts in and out like ‘picket fencing’.   Horribly annoying.  If I use the crappy Sonos app it doesn’t do it as much, so I believe it’s something to do with Apple AirPlay.  However, I can stream to my Bose ear buds and JBL Bluetooth speakers just fine using AirPlay so what the deal. Does Sonos want to force me to use their app? 

i have managed to have my Roam speak connected to my Ray Soundbar for the past 18 months or more, this week I took the room speak away with me and connected to another network. Since coming home I reconnected my Roam speaker and it’s not on the app anymore however my RAY and SUB are connected and playing TV sounds. The roam will only play dual music via Spotify with the Ray, and still wont show as a solo ‘Roam’ device on the app. I have spent the last 3 days trying to work it out….. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sonos used to work well, I started using it many years ago but the new app is very slow and I have to call support to get the system up and running. Now I turned off the 2.4GHz network and tried to run sonos on 5GHz. Does not work so system is not working (again) since a week. The ‘wizards’ in the slow S2 app does not help and system can’t be found. I even tried downloading the old S1 app to get that running with the system, but it does not find any of the speakers. I use Android (tried with 2 different phones) and Play 1, Play 3 as well as connect amp.

I have many Sonos products, including ARC, Play 5, One’s and 2 x Play 3’s.Suddenly the Play3’s stopped working, after resets, they appear in App & Computer, and play together, however won’t group with any other product, it just says “Unable to Connect, Please try later.I have factory reset, and got everything else working, The Play 3’s work together, just not grouped with other products. Any advice?

A periodic annoyance with my 10 year old system is that a number of tracks can stutter on playback. It is NOT interference. I have two original Play 1’s on stands in a stereo pair connected by ethernet into a Devolo dlan 1200+ powerline adapter. If interference was the issue it would not manifest in the same position from within a track. The afflicted audio tracks are also not damaged as they play on any other device without problem.This problem only surfaced about a year ago but I doubt it could it be some component breaking down as the symptoms would not be so specific.I did a test whereby I produced another playlist containing one troublesome track. Trouble is after trying to play it access was denied by my computer. This is still an ongoing problem with adding music from ‘My music folder’ when it resides on an external drive.I have given up hope with the system as it still has annoyances that have not been refined or streamlined in years, particularly in regard to sorting or search

I have two Sonos One SL together with the S1 app that was working well. Haven’t really been using them for a while but should today and was prompted to see if it was compatible with s2 upgrade (or something like that), the app checked, and prompted me to download, it also informed me that I wouldn’t be able to go back, I clicked and was taken to the Sonos App (Note: Sonos, not S2) in App Store, installed it, opened it, and choose (in the following order):“Connect to existing system”, it scans wifi and I get an “This system is only compatible with Sonos S1 Controller”. “Add speaker...”, it scans but doesn’t find anything…Now to the bonus: My S1 seems to have a connection with both speakers, but I can’t get any sound.What to do? Factory reset?Best,Mikael

Hi there, I have a set up with 4 Era 100’s and one mini sub. now I bought 4 Ikea bookshelf Symfonisks and successfully set two up in one room as a stereo pair. However the other two just will not connect. It says they are connected when I install them but they don’t showup on System settings (and yes I unplugged and replugged) and interestingly they never connected to the wifi during set up so I’ve factory reset both of themmultiple times but to no avail. I’m certain it’s not a wifi or connectivity issue.the two that won’t set up are going in a separate room to other speakers. has anyone had a similar problem? 

Updates repeatedly fail. Individual speakers require repeated factory resets. Don’t buy SONOS if you want to take it to your vacation home for a few days. Setup is extremely painful and time consuming.

I cannot add BBC Sounds to my content services.I found my address was set to Norway (an issue in itself) and corrected it. No joy, I removed the app, restarted my phone and reinstalled the app. No joy, I have no problem finding a place to add the service - there seem to be several of them - it simply is never listed.Maybe the only solution is to deleted my entire Sonos profile and start over with a different email address - maybe one of my ,co,uk ones. But, I shouldn’t have to do that!

I have a Sonos ARC with two era 300 serving as rear speakers paired with the Sonos sub 3 and this is connected via an e-arc to a hiicence TV that supports Dolby Atmos, HDR 10 and 4K however even when I play content from the various streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon prime Apple that has Dolby Atmos , and also some media that I have downloaded through this system, it does not give me a Dolby Atmos symbol on the Sonos app. It shows PCM 2.0 and I don’t think I’m getting the output although on my TV it flashes for about two seconds saying Dolby Atmos is anybody else seeing this and can help

Hi all,We have a Sonos Playbar and recently purchased a new Samsung TV (Samsung UE65DU7100 (2024)).The TV has 3x 2.1 HDMI ports, one of those being eARC, but no optical port. I’ve double checked this with Samsung who have confirmed no optical port exists for this 2024 model TV (we are in the UK). The issue of course being that the Playbar only has an optical connection. Is anyone aware of a decent adapter or technology that exists to somehow be able to use our Playbar as the TV output? I appreciate Sonos don’t sell anything for it, but I can’t figure out whether technology exists elsewhere (Amazon etc) to make this work. Unfortunately we can’t change either piece of technology as both returns periods have expired.Thanks in advance all.

When I launch the sonos app I get the message no products found. After this I did a network update for each product. Still no response from the app. What can I do about this?

Yesterday I  downloaded Macbook 15.0.1 to my macbook and now the sonos sound bar cannot be connectd to tv output.  Any ides,  It was fine before downloading this latest version.

Factory reset my ROAM and connected it to network but whenever I try to add it get errors message “not able to connect, try again later’  

With my Sonos1 network whenever I play a soundtrack, tracks play for a minute or so then skip. Why? How can I fix ?

I have two pairs of in-wall Sonance Architectural Speakers wired to an Amp. I have had no difficulty in the past detecting them. There are no other Speakers wired to the Amp. The detect function no longer works. Is it possible th as that I have mixed up the polarity of the cables?

Hardware update this morning. Some but not all EQ related settings changed as far as I can tell. Nothing for the Ace.Anybody have ideas what's addressed this time?

The queuing system for the new Sonos App works on my iphone and Ipad but not on my Laptop. I can add songs but cannot change the order. The 3 horizontal lines to grab the song and move it up/down are not there. When trying to do this a red circle with a diagonal line appears. Any ideas to resolve? 

Allowed the Sonos tech to take control of my computer for about an hour or so.  He could not get my local library back.  I managed to fix it myself after the May update wrecked all access to my library.  Then the last update wrecked it again and even the Sonos tech cannot get it back.  So my system is now useless. Yet - I don’t see a lot of comments about this…..? Maybe I should try another teck at Sonos? 

Can you play Sonos headphones and Sonos speakers simultaneously? If so, which set up is best? 

When I try to add any of the categories from my local library to my app home screen, I receive a ‘Something went wrong’ message.For example, I select my music library, then artists, then click on the three dots top-right and select ‘Pin collection to home’. I get an error.The same happens for any category such as artists, genres, or folders.I am using the latest app and firmware, and iOS 18.0.1 on an iPhone and iPad.Do others see the same error? It is 100% consistent for me.Thanks

I can’t connect my Sonos S1 system with my New IPad 6. My Sonos S1 system works fine with my old IPad, with my two computers and with my cel phone Android. The only difference I see is in the settings of my new IPad, my Id user of Sonos doesn’t appear while this id user appears on all my other devices. I have tried EVERYTHING Sonos recommends and nothing works. How can I make the id user appear in my apps IPad settings of Sonos. Thanks 

Weird question, I know. I’m considering getting rid of my “traditional” 5.1 surround system after being blown away by a friend's Sonos Arc Soundbar and Era 300 set upHowever, my living area has a glass lantern (window) in the ceiling, which sits right above the space right in between where the soundbar will sit and the rear speakers. The glass lantern is pitched up and has 4 sides, meaning that the sound from the upfiring tweeters will hit some flat ceiling area, as well as 4 different faces of the lantern surface, before bouncing its way back down to earth.My concern is that this will be too complex a set of surfaces for the software to deal with and I’ll find the Spatial Audio to be awful in my room set up.Does anyone have any experience of a similar set up, or can speak with confidence on what the expected results would likely be?Any thoughts appreciated!
