I’ve been through the previous posts on the 913 error. My music folder is shared with Sonos Wireless HiFi System with Read permissions. I have SMBv2 enabled (although I’m not sure if this is a one-time thing or if I have to enable this on every reboot). No matter what, I still get the error whether I select My Music folder, browse to its location, or select the network drive.
The reason it doesn’t work using the network drive in my case is understandable - my music folder is not on a separate computer. My problems arrive because I don’t want any of my data on the same drive as the operating system. My Music folder is on my drive. Sonos will not connect to it.
However, if I copy a few music files over to an empty folder on C:\, in my case PerfLogs, I was able to connect this folder to Sonos, have it show up in my Music Library, select songs, and add it to a playlist. Then they played at the proper time.
Sonos needs to allow references to internal drives.

Sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting your Sonos system to your shared music folder.
Let’s take this a bit at a time:

It’s a one-time thing - you should only need to do this once.

Please only use the third option - networked drive. The others will fail.

This is a little inaccurate, but I can see why you would think so. It is not the app that is trying to connect to your shared folder - it is the speakers, and they basically are separate computers.

When connecting to a “shared folder”, Windows (or any other OS) will not share any such details with the connecting device - Sonos does not know that you are not using C: drive, nor can it know. This is not the issue.
Instead, I suspect this might be a permissions issue - there are not only permissions for who can access a shared folder, but there are also permissions for the folder itself. So, the “Sonos Wireless HiFi System” user can have permission to connect to a shared folder from an external source, but that same user must also have permission to view that physical folder (rather than the shared folder which is best thought of as virtual) on the drive itself. I don’t think “Sonos Wireless HiFi System” would have any permissions for any folders on by default - you will need to add them manually by right-clicking the folder in Windows’ File Explorer and going the Security page.

That did help, thanks. The issue was having to enable sharing on two different places. Choosing “Give Access To” from the right click menu, here wass the sharing info for my D:\My Documents\Music folder:
However, choosing “Properties” from the right click menu and selecting the Sharing tab showed me the folder was not shared. (I’m certain I had Sonos sharing access previously.) Then the only thing for me to do was to look up my Windows password since I always use a PIN.

The Desktop Controllers will not be updated - we are basically waiting to make them unavailable once the mobile app reaches parity. Please add Music Library shares via the mobile app rather than via the Desktop app.
