Hello and Marry Christmas to all!

So today I got my self Sonos Ray, the setup was smooth 

and I can use the remote and all is good, however if I move slightly further from the tv, the signal is not getting through 

just to clarify, when I’m close to the Sonos, everything is working, when I go back to my usual sitting place, all I see is the volume indicator on the TV but the Sonos is not reacting 

My living room is very small, the maximum distance is about 2.5 meters 

any ideas?

Yea, multiple times 

I have resided the optical cable once more, now it looks like it is working as it should, I will update later…

It’s possible that something is casting a shadow on the sensor.

I once had situation where the system did not respond to commands. While I was fussing with things I accidentally noticed that when I was standing in a certain spot the control worked. It turned on out that there was an interfering light source and when I was on the magic spot, my shadow blocked the interference.

Another thing to try is using cardboard or an index card to prevent light from the TV from falling on the soundbar’s IR detector.

Did you cleaned the sensor somehow?

A quick visual inspection should confirm whether or not there is surface contamination.
