Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi everyone! Just a question: does Apple Music stream in lossless only when using the Sonos app, or does it also support lossless when streaming via AirPlay from the Apple Music app on iOS? thanks in advance!

I'm a recent purchaser of Sonos products, after being impressed with them in holiday rentals.My first purchase has been the below:ArcEra 100 x 2Sub Gen4 The interesting, not to mention frustrating, thing I've found is the fact Trueplay is missing from the Arc settings. The Era 100s both show the option to run Trueplay (when not paired as Surrounds with the Arc) but the Arc is completely missing it even when not paired with any other speaker. I've tried the below to rectify this, based on other posts and videos: Rebooted all speakers - issue is still presentUnpaired everything, including the sub - issue is still present Reset the App - issue is still presentCleared all App cache and data - issue is still presentCleared all App cache and data, then uninstalled and reinstalled the App - issue is still presentPaired the Eras back to the Arc - issue is still present but now I obviously cannot Trueplay the Eras as they are in the Arc 'system' I'm using a Samsung S21, I've seen lots of report

I have a large room (26’ x 26’) with couch in middle of room facing tv. Current setup is beam soundbar paired with (2) sonos ones as surround and also (2) sonos ones beside the beam facing the listener. The (2) ones adjacent the beam soundbar are paired and make a considerable difference when watching movies.Current Large Room (26’ x 26’):Beam Soundbar (2) Adjacent Sonos Ones facing listener (2) Sonos Ones paired with Beam as Surround I am debating purchasing an Arc Ultra and moving the beam and (2) adjacent ones to a smaller room to make (2) surround sound tv setups. Two room setup would then look like this:Large Room (26’ x 26’):Arc Ultra (2) One’s paired as surroundSmall Room:Beam (2) Ones paired as surroundI am concerned that the Arc Ultra as stand-alone with (2) Ones as surround will not be as powerful as the current setup. I know I could also buy (2) Era 300’s but I’m not interested in spending that much currently. Thoughts?

Old subject of systems not registering with the annoying “check your network” message.   There is a hint in the “Check the time and date on the unit”    I found out by eliminating all the working SONOS speakers and leaving just the unregistered one, I had to sign in, but finally got past all the Registering failure.   I went to system and  checked TIME and DATE and it said Jan 1 2001 and 12:00     (The default).  I tried to make it update to Internet Time so it would be accurate but it never updates.   My guess is the clock in the speak has a Lithium button battery that has gone dead after 8 years.   And Registration can’t happen if the time is not accurate for some crazy reason.   CS support is useless.  This guy blamed my Internet provider which is the old ruse of years ago.  Now with IPV5 and IPV6 it’s so standard that excuse is like saying it’s your 110V power outlet.   Net Net, the clock is dead and the unit will never register.   I’m going to take mine apart and see if I can upda

New to the group…….so please be kind.  I am keen on buying the Arc Ultra. However I understand the Arc Ultra does NOT support Play 1s as surround speakers.  is there any chance Sonos will change this limitation or is it a technical issue?

I turned on my Sonos system this morning and . . . nothing!Things were a bit weird in the past weeks, since I got the iPhone 16, and even stranger when they put an update iOS 18.2.1 on it.  I got signed out of ALL my Sonos options, though Amazon Music and Sirius were still there and the speaker system still worked.  Then this morning (2024.01.20), it all crapped out.I basically had to delete the app’, unplug the Sonos router, and all the speakers and start over from entering my wifi router.  Kinda sucked!  And took an hour and then some before everything was back online.  ‘Need my music in the morning!  ‘Not sure if the blame goes to Sonos, the iPhone 16 or to Apple.  (Still cannot sign into the Sonos stuff.  I try and it keeps coming back to “Sign in as Owner.”  But, I AM the owner!)

My questions:What decides whether surround bonding uses 2.4G vs. 5G? Is there any way to control or force to one direction? Are there any other options I have here other than hardwiring all my devices in rooms that have surround bonding?Full context:I’ve been chasing some wireless issues on my home network in my 2.4GHz channel space, I previously had my living room Arc hardwired to my home network, and that was making a SonosNet network for the rest of the home.  Two days ago I unplugged that Arc from my home network, and then all my devices went from WM:0 to WM:1, and everything seemed to work really nice, and the other non-Sonos devices on my 2.4GHz wireless network that were having issues, started working much better. One of my rooms has a Beam 2 with a pair of One SLs as surrounds.  I decided to add a Sub Mini to that room, and now one of the non-Sonos devices that was having 2.4G issues is having issues again.  After Googling, I see online that surround bonding typically uses 5GHz

Sonia one has been working for 2 years. Suddenly last week it stopped working. Tried many times to reconnect to the network but it does not work. So frustrating. Tried factory reset and that did not help.  what should I do?  

Hi all, I’ve recently been dabbling with playing local FLAC files stored on a Synology NAS. I can add them to the Sonos App without a hitch, but have found that I can only get my older Symfonisk speakers to play. Newer ERA speakers give a “content is unavailable” error. I can group the Era speakers with the other speakers and they play fine. Also no problem with any of my streaming services. App works well apart from that with no lag. All speakers on wifi.  

Does anyone else have a problem with their home microwave consistently interfering with their Sonos signal?  When we run the microwave for longer than 20 seconds the Sonus signal sporadically drops in and out across all Sonos components/devices (4). As soon as the microwave stops, Sonos comes back on again at all components.We are still using Controller 1 with a mix of old & new Sonos devices. As well, we have three WAP strategically located throughout the house with strong wireless signals throughout. This has been happening ever since we built and moved into the house. We even had our builder replace the microwave unit thinking it was leaking!  No one has a clue as to why and how to solve.      

Any body else frustrated by the slow loading time for the latest Sonos app? Seems to take as about 90+ seconds on my Android phone. I have tried all the suggested fixes.

 I’ve had my Sonos system for over ten years and it’s been a bumpy ride. Glitchy software has occasionally caused problems (and usually when I’d done nothing to change my system.) Today, after updating my operating system, Sonos stopped working again. I’m on a Mac, and updated to OS 15.2.  Sonos wasn’t able to access my music. I did a chat with tech-support which took 20 minutes, and then was told that I needed to do a phone session with remote access to my computer. I then spent more than 2 hours on the phone with your tech support and the guy clearly was out of his depth. Kept moving windows around my desktop and it was obvious that he wasn’t familiar with Mac operating systems. Also, he kept doing the same thing and expecting different results.  He escalated the issue to the level two tech-support people and after another 20 minutes, came back and said that there is no fix. My Sonos system is useless until you update your software to be compatible with Apple’s current operating syst

I have a new Samsung Galaxy phone. Phone says Sonos not connected to wifi. Tried Sonos tech support. The guy worked with me to try all different things. All failed. After about a 1/2 hour, he hung up on me. Meanwhile, my old Motorola worked perfectly. Can anyone help?

Good Evening,  Can anyone please recommend the positioning for two stereo pairs (running on one amp) of 6 inch ceiling speakers in the room below. It is essentially a big L shape with a lounge and TV on the bottom right hand side of the drawing attached. Should I try my best to get one pair either side of the sofa? Then perhaps the other pair along the right hand side of the room, in a line? Or any better suggestions appreciated.Maybe I bite the bullet and have a separate amp for the living area which can be more ‘TV focused’ with a sound bar / sub etc. But, perhaps this is overkill.Ignore the utility / WC space, this won't have any speakers.  Thanks Chris. 

How do I register my speakers

Jan 19th '25. I used my satellite volume controls and EQ last night whilst watching a film. Today, after an app update they have vanished. This happened a couple of years ago as well and I remember they disappeared for about a week before Sonos sorted it out and they reappeared. Does anyone have the same issue? Or have they just moved them to a silly location that is difficult to find?  

I’m using surround sound at home for the first time. I think on some 2.0 video content an attempt is being made to upmix to 5.1 or similar somewhere in my chain of devices but it’s patchy and I would personally rather just have my left and right Era 300s also playing the L and R channels. Is this possible, either through Sonos or from particular devices? I’d consider buying a replacement streaming box that does this.  AppleTV4K ——> LG C4 —(eARC)—> Sonos Arc Ultra/Era 300s/SubMini This is what I’m currently using. 

Hi I'm just wondering if these two are compatible? The TV didn't have a optical port so I bought an adapter to connect optical port to HDMI but it still won't connect 

Hi,I have a turn table and CD player connected to my Marantz amplifier. This is then connected to the Sonos port from Recorded Out. I am playing music fine on my Play 5s, but I want to control the volume through the Amp rather than the Sonos app. I have tried changing line in in the port to Fixed, but nothing is working. Anyone got any advice please. Many thanks. 

My Spotify app can see all my Sonos devices that are on the same network, however when I select them to stream it doesn’t connect. My wife has no issues streaming on the same network with the same devices. I am attempting streaming from Spotify app on MacBook and iPhone 14. I have reinstalled Spotify app on phone and MacBook. Airplay works fine to Sonos devices, but it has a delay and takes more effort. I have restarted my phone/MacBook, Sonos devices, and router. Everything is up to date. I have Sonos one, beam, and Arc and none of them work. 

how to  minimize below neighbor complaining and keeping a good setup.  i alos want a goood setting to watch movie ( i habe a gen 2 beam with 2 One Slmas surrounf and a Sub mini )  please send me your best setting for movie watching .  Where I should have the sub mini in my room .  I have a L shaped sofa 

Any chance of bringing remote manageability to the Sonos Web App? Very specific, checking for and running system updates… I can already access and see the system, its components and what’s going on. Having the ability to check and trigger updates would be ideal!

Hello - I’ve been using a Five in my home gym for a while, placed horizontally. All has been great but my gym is starting to grow and there are 2 areas separated by a short wall. I will be adding a second Five to the new section and I am not sure what the best configuration is. Question 1: Should I pair the 2 5s in stereo or will the wall cause problems? Question 2: Will it matter much if I orient the left speaker vertically? I do not plan to change the orientation of the right speaker. I may need to hang the left vertically out of space concerns once a fan is added to the left wall. Question 3: should I just keep it easy and not pair them and just group them as 2 separate speakers. I’d like to decide before get a speaker so that I get the correct mount. Any help or insight is appreciated. Thanks! 

It doesn't work starting streaming swedish radio today.

I used to be able to listen to podcast via spotify connect (aka direct control in sonos lingo) on my s2 system. Since about 3 months every time i choose one of my speakers in the Spotify app - spotify tries to connect for about 1 minute and then reverts back to playing from the phone.Streaming music from spotify connect works fine.I have not changed anything in my setup and i have the latest versions of Spotify and Sonos. What can be wrong?
