Still hoping for this update. Crazy that it is such an expensive speaker but we haven't been able to use the main driver!! Is there any way to use it yet???

What do you mean as a ‘main driver’?

Hi Bruce. By "main driver" I mean the largest forward facing driver in the Era 300 speaker. This driver is disengaged by the software when the speaker is used as a surround speaker in a home theater configuration. It makes sense to some extent for movies, but last I heard there is still no option to turn it on when playing music which is a serious flaw in the software. We want to use the Era 300 to its full capability when playing music.

Hi Buzz. Yes; I was part of the initial discussions and have read many since. I am still wondering if Sonos has made or is planning to make a software update to allow us to use the Era 300's to their full capability when playing music. As we all know, the speaker itself has the capability. We just need a toggle or something in the app to allow users the freedom to use it. Ridiculous if Sonos is still dragging their feet on this one.
I think we’ll need to wait until the developers work through all of the hanging details associated with implementing the “new improved” controllers are worked out before a final determination on implementing this sort of detail will be made.
