I have been 100% behind Sonos for ~20 years with major investments in Sonos products and some significant Sonos stock shares. However, the latest Sonos iOS App is a disaster and is at best represents a beta test version for select beta test users. No doubt this well eventually result in an improved UI experience. The beta version forced on everyone is a total disaster. This marks the 2nd major Sr. Management screwup in recent years that I am aware of. However, the 1st screwup management was wise enough to take shift action to correct the situation. This 1st screwup was there initial promotion of providing a 30% discount in exchange for allow Sonos to disable your older noncompliant HW that would not work with S2 App. The public quickly altered them that this was an insane unacceptable solution and they quickly changed their policy to not disabling the S1 older equipment and provided the 30% discount. Here we find ourselves again, in what is even a much worse situation as a result of forc
My son accidentally pressed the infinity button and factory reset my new sub and now after finally re registering it, it won’t assign back to the room it is in? Have tried all sorts of things as advised on here. I can assign to another room, just not to my Arc?Can anyone help me please? Have been on it for two and a half hours now and near broken!Thank you in advance.
Why in the F*** would you remove the sleep timer and alarm functions on the latest app ? Are you frigging morons, yes that's a serious question. My app updated itself and now those 2 functions that I used ALL THE TIME are gone. Who is the idiot that made that decision, are you trying loose business or just had a lobotomy.
SONOS has seen fit to release an update on its app with some features absent. If you want to use the alarm or sleep timer then (caps lock alert): DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT UPDATING. Other features, which I don’t use so am unaware of their absence, may not be available too.The “Customer Experience” team has told me: “features such as playlist creation and queue editing within the Sonos app, sleep timers, and local library support will not be available at launch, but will be added to the app on a rolling basis over the coming months”. Months??!! I used to use the alarm feature every day - not now thanks to this “upgrade”. Why SONOS has launched an app update that’s clearly not ready for general release beyond beta is beyond me.The whole thing is an utter shambles and spoils the SONOS brand. This customer is not happy with his experience.
Why oh why do companies install a completely new app when clearly it’s not been tested it’s not fit for purpose. That same old adage comes up again if it’s not broke don’t try and fix it.in other words the app is crap
I open the new app , it says can’t find your system. So I do all the good things, roboot router, reboot speakers , reboot iPad . Works! Bravo. 3 hours later, no music, open app,it can’t find system. Repeat. Happens at least twice a day with this staggeringly poorly written new app! Hopefully Sonos will decide they goofed and do something positive, but unlikely. FYI Alexa has no trouble finding the Sonos speaker system, and can play from my Amazon music account, radio stations etc. and my router always says the speakers are online and working. It is only the Sonos app that cannot find the Sonos speakers! Maybe I can train Alexa to do everything I wanted the app to do??
HiI installed 16.2, and now my local music library has disappeared. The music is held on a Windows Server 2022 file share which is NOT SMB1, it’s SMB2 or SMB3. I’m a long time user of Sonos products with over 20 devices installed in my home. I also have quite a few streaming services. Since the upgrade on my phone there are 2 sources that I can NOT find or navigate to, and I’m getting really pissed. The first is the basic “TuneIn” service. under my channels I have 40+ items to choose from. You can not currently find it. If you try and add “TuneIn” they are pushing their Premium Service that requires an account and I’m sure will not contain my added channels. Where did the base service go?Second is the Sonos Playlists music source. It use to be easy to navigate to and pick a playlist. Now it is nowhere to be found. I have 50+ playlists that a great amount of time was spent creating and again, the new interface does not provide a way to see them. Sonos, this upgrade is a huge step backwards in my opinion. Not sure who approved the UI but they obviously have not used the old interface enough to know it. Also half of the info blocks i
C dommage… les détails ! Comme les alarmes même sur ma chaîne de 1993 j’ai un timer Moderator Note - Translation by Google:It’s a shame…the details ! Like the alarmseven on my 1993 channel I have a timer
This app is complete trash. I can't play anything. When it finally decides to play a song, I can't change it, or turn down the volume or change rooms. GARBAGE. I have 5 unusable speakers now. WTF!? I bought my first speaker in 2014 and have been using it nearly everyday since. This app is UNUSABLE! I can ant listen to music.
I sure hope that Sonos reads these threads!!So yes, this looks to be another thread about the new app and how terrible it is!!!Where dose Sonos get their software department from? are the from a yet mostly unknown culture that doesn't think like the rest of us??Are the Aliens from another planet? or a group of Bonobo chimps from the local zoo moonlighting on the side.Whomever they are using, they need to have a sit-down discussion with them.I'm no power user of the app by any stretch of the imagination and yet even I suffer mild PTSD from trying to use it!No1 gripe, Why can I not just add 1 folder of music from my library to the music que and have Sonos just play that???? Sometimes you just want to fire up a Led Zeppelin session and blot the rest of the world out for a few hours, but no i have to mess around with an app for 20 mins making a “Playlist” before I can do that!!!Yes, Im old and a little crusty but I have money and have spent it on Sonos speakers throughout my house and I ju
Time for a class action lawsuit…. the app is a disaster...start the public firings before sonos goes under… start with the employee who used the word COURAGE
I started my local public radio station, as I do every afternoon, and my Sonos played a Sonos advertisement for 30 seconds instead. That is an unacceptable behavior, so I threw the Sonos out of the kitchen window. It is now lying in the garden, and it will not be invited back in. My question (I searched and as far as I can tell it has gone unanswered on this forum) is what is the minimum safe depth at which I will never see it again?
So, if you thought anyone from Sonos would apologize for this travesty of an app update and/or explain WHY releasing the updated app now was so important it was worth doing despite the app missing numerous previously existing features, you were, like me, sorely disappointed. However, if you were looking forward to them showing up an hour late, answering maybe 6 questions in total, and doing so only in oblivious marketing gibberish (apparently the negative feedback has "energized" the team!), then it was a real treat!Hard to believe they found additional ways to insult and ignore loyal customers who have each given them thousands of dollars over the years, but they managed it. I sure hope each of them is getting very drunk right now and questioning their life choices.
So after foolishly updating (downgrading) the app to the new ‘app’ on my IOS products I lost all ability to connect to my Sonos system and music library. Thankfully it still worked from the PC and and an old iPad with the S2 app. I tried to play some of my music from this method tonight andaccess has now been denied! It’s one kick in the n**s after another from this company, seriously WTF are you doing to your customers? How do i resolve this s*** show?
OK so it’s been a while and the play.sonos.com has been up for some time.Day one I noticed that grouping/ungrouping speakers did not update the UI.Reproduce:play.sonos.com, login, play music on speaker Aclick speaker icon for speaker A, speakers menu pops up, choose speaker Bmusic starts playing on speaker B and is shown in speakers menuclick x, the right speakers menu isn’t updated. Here’s a video: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/tlqxvocno1p5okfo7y934/sonos-web-bug.mp4?rlkey=v9n7fim77vf4tc3imcro3z5jr&st=jasaqgbd&dl=0 I have tried Chrome on Windows 11 and Firefox on Ubuntu.
Having downloaded the new update (totally messed things up) and now automatically updating the hardware, the app has lost my Sub, Arc, beam, era 300 and play ones being used as surround sounds and my move speakers. In fact since the hardware update the only thing this new app can find is my stand alone play ones. add to that the fact the new app seems to have lost all ability to recognise when the tv is playing through them and all the tv controls (night time and tv speech enhance) plus all The abilities to change surrounds , sub and height audio levels…etc and it’s all a bit of a massive c*** up. everything worked fine until these new updates. What’s going on and when will All these functions be fixed? Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
New App is so laggy.. cannot add songs to a queue- sound adjustment is just so bad - big delay - why change the app - I have not updated my app on my other system because of all the issues - have also lost a SoundCloud playlist altogether- keep getting an error message when trying to connect to it - needs sorting it sooner rather than later!
I can only play through Sonos. Is it possible to play directly via the Apple Music app?
Hi I’m trying to get some technical support and have been on hold over 1hr. Is this normal?
After updating roam will not connect
I know you guys have a lot of -ish going on with the new app release and I have to tell you is has jacked up my summer music vibe. I frequently listen to Mix Cloud through the Sonos app. Since the new app release music starts playing randomly. I can click on a music choice and music will start playing from a previous selection. It does not respond. I also cannot see my playlists or favorites. Is there anything I can do for the Mix Cloud app to work in the new Sonos app? It was working great a couple of weeks ago and now it is a hot mess. I am very frustrated and am looking for any help before I move on to other solutions away from Sonos. It would also be nice if I could arrange my services in the order in which I see fit. For some reason, the two I use the most (Spotify and MixCloud) are at the very end. I did select MixCloud as my preferred service but it still leaves my other most frequently used service at the end.
Sonos’s original and primary selling point was ability to stream all your own music wirelessly throughout your devices and speakers. This app update has ENTIRELY rejected that and the customers who came to Sonos for that.Years worth of playlists to my music library DELETED! That is effed up. Those curated playlists took a lot of effort and time. Cannot create and edit playlists as a collection of songs from different albums/artists Search DOES NOT work for your music library. It only works with existing services. How do I find a song among 20000 without searching? Queue only works with services. Can no longer edit it I used alarms extensively to automatically turn on stations in different rooms at different times. GONEAll of this points to Sonos deliberately trying to force users into only using streaming services and demoting and in some cases eliminating use of your own library. Please allow reverting to the old app and give me back my frickin stuff!I have no use for Sonos pr
Who approved this mess of updated release. Can’t wait to explain my wife how to use the new release. Where is the missing support for blind users. What a s***hole Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Just want to say that the new app is absolutely the worst app update in the history of app updates. What a joke. If the goal is to lose customers - great job! If the goal is to keep customers - bring back the old app. It worked just fine. Why ruin it???
