After MONTHS of the iOS app not working well, since you changed its architecture (I’m not talking about the design, I’m talking about the way it connects to the Internet) and following weeks of correspondence with your service level 2 team which cannot resolve the issue, as well as mails to that “CEO” email address, I thought it’s also good to give it a try here, maybe others also experience the problem: our Sonos system became USELESS since that iOS app update!! we can only control it via the computer application - which is insufficient. And we don’t accept your ‘blaming’ the Unifi switch, since it used to work with the prvious iOS app flawlessly!! Either you fix it with an app update ASAP, or we want our money back for each unit in your ‘lock-in’ system we bought. Awaiting your prompt update (as I’m awaiting it on the 1:1 communication with the support team), maybe this will trigger more action?
The “new” Sonos is getting worse, not better. Every day, I encounter more and more drop-outs. Either speakers will cut out, or the entire system will go down. Or it stops playing and then runs through the queue, playing random bits of songs for a few seconds. The app hangs at the slightest thing. One improvement: it has stopped saying “Something went wrong” every time I press any button. I thought I could be patient while they work it out, but this is going the wrong direction. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on what I thought were top-tier products and service, then they hosed it. It’s unacceptable, and I’ve given up on calling Sonos support. They used to be so good! But they’re overwhelmed and can’t fix anything since they screwed the pooch. I’m just ranting because I have to. It’s cathartic, not constructive, sorry.

Morgan Stanley has given Sonos stock a double downgrade today. The downgrade was given due to the feedback and performance of the new crappy app. I stand by my post from 4 months ago. The new app decision will be what drags you down. I made the decision to invest in Sonos by buying your products. And now your shareholders are dumping you for your poor and incompetent business decisions. Well. I am doing research into other options to replace my Sonos investment.
I have Mac OS, upgraded to 16.3.3. the first time I launched software it worked. now local library not working. also iTunes music playlists not appearing - are they working on this?
My Sonos had been a complete mess since May, with each update my Sonos is back and better than before May. I've experienced a lot more serious problems in my life than this. For me, it's time to move on to more important issues. I know some won't be happy until they drag all responsible over the coals. I'm done pointing fingers and only wish those responsible good luck. I'm very happy to have my music back and enjoy this great product by Sonos. I can't wait to see the rebuttals for these comments, but I don't care. I will go about my day enjoying the great sounds of Sonos.
I am using this very Sonos Community to try to drill down information about TruePlay, Equalization and the app here on a web-browserI run a search--like I would do on hundreds of community bulletin boards but this bulletin board doesn’t let me organize by most recent or oldest to newest etc.?The experience as an enduser in the app or as a community member would be enhanced by having basic UI stuff covered--basic functionality.
I’m not sure who is is charge of quality control at Sonos but they should find another job. Honestly looking at getting rid of my substantial Sonos system as the App is almost useless now. Beyond the debacle that happened a couple years ago it now doesn’t even update the song cues. Seriously ridiculous and elementary school level programming.
Like many of you, I’ve given up complaining about the new app.Even simple tasks like muting the system for a phone call are so troublesome that I simply turn the system off during the day. I listen to less music and talk shows. Our investment in Sonos speakers has been seriously degraded.Instead of apologizing and reverting to the original highly functional app, Sonos insults us with happy talk about how proud they are of the app.So what’s really going on inside the company and what’s the future of our investments? In the months before the app was rolled out insiders were selling their shares. It’s been reported that insiders sold shares 16 times so far this year. None have purchased shares. Its appears that they saw what was coming.Sonos share price has declined steadily since the rollout, and the financial/tech press is catching on to this failure.Sonos BoD needs to wake up.
I love the Sonos products and I use them every day several times. But why is the alarm function, which most users use on a daily base, not given more importance?Several times a day I need to press three buttons to get to the alarm function. Isn‘t the alarm not way more often used than audio compression or the time setting. These are settings which users use once or not at all. My suggestion for an improvement:Place the alarm button next to the account and system setting button on the main screen. This would be way more userfriendly, more efficient and users don‘t have to search for the alarm function every day. Thanks for considering my suggestions.Beat
There are still some minor quirky things that can be lived with, but as far as I can tell most, if not all the functionality has been returned to both the Android and Window Apps. 😃However, three months of waiting for major functionality to return and bug fixes is, to say the least, NOT GOOD! Hopefully, SONOS has realized that enhancements should be customer driven and not on the “WHIMS OF SONOS STAFF”.Also, I think SONOS could do a lot better job of communicating with loyal customers about fixes to problems from communication methods in customer’s profiles. As far as sound quality and portability SONOS is among best!!!
I’m at the end of my tether, I’ve supported Sonos for a while now with 13 speakers in my house Play:1’s so a few years old but I have never ever been able to open the app and play music where I want to, I’ve lived with this for years hoping it would be sorted. It is absolutely frustrating. I have a long house and WIFI doesn’t reach end to end so I adopted for a SONOS STP wired network but it’s useless. “Cannot connect to device”; “The device cannot be found”; “unable to add to the queue”; The list goes on … all I want to do is open the app and play some music when I want to, can it be that hard? That’s what I signed up for when I bought the system? I have looked at the network matrix in my browser and everything is “Green” or “Yellow”, no bad connections at all. Instead I end up re-booting router and speakers and after an hour I’ve lost the will to live and my guests are pi$$ed off. The only solution in the online help seems to be restart everything which is frankly not an acceptable
Reached our vacation home 2 days ago where we loved listening to music and relaxing. For the past 2 days on both Android and iOS platforms, the app refuses to play any of our favorite stations. Just get the circle of death on the play button. So disappointed I had invested so heavily in Sonos products.
Sonos is Disrupting my BusinessI have had Sonos speakers in my salon for over 10 years. There have been issues at time but Never This Unusably Bad. It is almost August and they have not fixed one thing. I am unable to play music in at my business. I still can not understand why they are not bring back the old app that worked just fine until they make sure the new app works. Coding 101If anyone know of a lawsuit getting started I would be more than happy to join in. Sonos does not seem to care. They keep trying to make it my router, internet, music app, ….. the problem. They are gaslighting us all by acting like they have nothing to do with the problem.
As well as my music library showing multiple copies of the same albums, very annoying. Now I can’t launch internet radio stations from the app. I have to ask Alexa to play the station I want. Isn’t it time to bin this awful app? I’m getting seriously fed up with Sonos.
should stop by X's account every day to leave them messages of the reality of this * system they have become. Are you going to stop by every day to leave them messages on X? *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
The sonos system turned out to be a good-for-nothing piece of crap. I can't use it at all, they ask you for location to listen to music, it's a disaster. I will also stop using sonos, I will never buy it again. It's a shame what a piece of crap they turned it into it doesn't work in any way.*Moderator Note: Title Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
Wake up. Open Sonos. Can’t find system. Scroll to my system. Connect. Can only find three of eight speakers. Music only plays out of one speaker. Reset router. Power off/on some speakers. Try some speaker resets. Music only plays out of one speaker. Some may find this frustrating, but with Sonos, I just call it Sunday.
Has this community been high jacked? Nothing but posts about airline stuff. How can all that crap be stopped? Only seems to show those airline related posts when I choose “Help Others” or “Recent Activity”.
What does the message mean? Showed when I cleared a Qobuz playlist from the queue. This is after updating the app today.
Feedback for Sonos on a new app feature that would be very useful… it is very common for a speaker installation to include two in-wall speakers in the back of a living room for surround sound for watching TV. However, when not watching TV and instead listening to music you can’t switch the speakers into stereo mode without a long drawn-out process of removing the surround speakers. It would be awesome if you could add a feature in the app to toggle between surround and stereo in two speakers in such an installation. I believe this would be used quite a bit.
The diabolical Sonos App has defeated me. I’m done. I give in. It’s completely turned my Which Best Buy Sonos speakers into little more than household ornaments! Just checking in too see if anyone has any recommendations for a replacement system where the software aligns with the hardware?
So the latest update is terrible. I have a Sonos beam and 2 satellites in the living room and a Sonos move 2 in my garage. The system in the living room is for movies and tv and I hardly ever use it for music. I listen to music in the garage as that’s where I work. In the new app , when I go to play music it defaults to the living room. So I have to change it to the garage. No biggie. Problem is that while listening to music in the garage, if I decide to change channels or genres it automatically defaults back to the living room instead of staying with the move 2 that was already playing music. Is there a way to change the default speakers to the move 2 and not the living room system?
So much for the promised 2 weekly app updates. What a joke Sonos have become. I find it hard to believe the board haven't fired the CEO.
Can only reset every device in my house so many times. Can only post on this forum so many times. Can only update so many times. Please someone start a class action lawsuit. Please. Everyone hates this. Nobody wanted this app update. Just roll it the * back. * this CEO and this company.*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
