I just bought Sonos Ray. The setup went OK. Before installing the Sonos ray, I had paired my bluetooth headphones with the TV. I could choose to turn off the sound on the TV and keep it on my headphones. After installing the Sonos Ray, I still get sound to my headphones, but I can't turn off the sound on my TV without turning off the sound in my headphones at the same time. Is there a simple solution on this matter? I have a Samsung 6-series TV. Thanks!
Dear Sonos Users, I intend to rotate the ERA300s (in diagram) to aim the inside speakers / rear channels towards my ears while its wall mounted above my head. This should also bring the reflection of the height channels closer to the listening position. Though I suspect weaker surround. Is this placement even possible as I saw the note in the guide saying that audio will stop if the speaker is at a steep angle; I am just not too sure which angle and what axis will cause this. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
Same issue as this one posted a year ago: My Sonos system is a Sonos Arc with a Sub Gen 3 in the living room, 2x Play:5 in stereo pair in the dinning room and 2x Play:1 in stereo pair in the bedroom.I am using Sonos S2.Like mentioned in the linked thread, during playback on stero pairs, sound will stop on the left speaker, then comeback, and sometimes continue to cut out on one or both speakers. Sometimes songs will simply stop for a second.Problem seems to happen with multi rooms or with stereo pairs.Never had any problem with other music services. Yes, I tried unplugging my system / re-authorizing account. Still, I don't have this problem if I'm using a different music service
Hi there. Am really hoping someone can help me!!! We have recently moved home and had Virgin Media broadband installed with their “Hub 3”. However my Sonos is not connecting to it. The Sonos app is giving me the attached troubleshooting suggestions, but I can’t see anything in the router settings which would allow me to action that (please also see attached). Can anyone help me please? Thanks a million.

I am curious if you would ever consider adding podcast republic as a podcast service. As that one is my podcast program of choice. I switched to Pocket Cast as it works with Sonos speaker. I would prefer to only have the one as I like the interface on the mobile device better when I am driving. I would like to be able to have Podcast Republic work directly with Sonos as well, especially since recent changes do not allow you to play from your mobile device anymore.I know I will need to find a way to request Podcast Republic to be able to support it. Just thought I would bring it up here first to see if it would be even make sense to support it on the Sonos system.
why won’t my One SL turn on, no led
New Sonos Port that is hardwired to the internet. The Port outputs to a Shure mixer that then outputs to a QSC 800V amp that's on a mechanical timer that shuts it off at 9pm and on at 10am. When playing music from the Sonos library or SiriusXm, when the amp turns on in the morning, there is no music playing or even selected to be played. I have to select what to play and play it. Is there some kind of "sense" circuitry?
Hi,I just bought two era 300 to add to my Sonos beam gen 2. I decided to pair them as stereo and not as surrounds because i think it profuces a way better and complete sound than in surround. Nevertheless i have a lot of sound decreases and small cuts during movies and video games. Like every 15 seconds, there is a small loss in the sound which is very annoying. The weirdeist thing is that it does not do that when i put music. It’s only during movies and video games. And I’m connected through wifi.does anyone has an idea what could be the cause? thanks, Max
My system is Playbar and One SL connected to Smart TV with DirecTV via ATT wifi Not long after connecting the OneSL I noticed it would drop out - quit producing sound - with some inactivity, for example, pausing the TV broadcast for a bit. It will come back on when I go to the app but it won’t stay on constantly - very annoying I tried renaming the speakers. Of course they show up in the app as “Playbar” and “OneSL,” as they should, but I thought renaming them might help this issue. Probably should have left them alone. How can I change them back? Last, I spoke with a SONOS rep some time ago (Ticket # xxxxxxxx) after I added/split my WiFi network between 5 gig and 2.4 gig. He suggested putting the Sonos system on the 2.4gig network in my ATT Smart Home app, which I thought I did. Now it appears the Playbar is on the 5gig and the OneSL is on the 2.4gig. Really not sure at this point. The speakers work ok, except for issue #1, but I would like tto have them both on the same network.
Current system -Playbar; Sub (Gen 3); Connect:Amp to 2 (actually 4) crappy in-ceiling speakers; 2 Play:3s; 2 Play:5s (Gen 1, not connected as it’s too much of a PIA to try to have an S1 and S2 configuration in the house)HT: Sub connected to Playbar with Connect:Amp speakers as surroundsPlay:3s set up as stereo pair and happen to be in same room as TvI want a much more compelling stereo listening experience. Was listening to Keith Jarrett’s Koln Concert through 3s GROUPED with HT setup (why? because 3s are little and I want to use the Sub) and desperate to get a stereo image. So I want to replace the 3s for stereo listening and move them upstairs. I thought since I have kids who play a lot of stuff through apple music they might like the experience of spatial audio and Era 300s. Selfishly, the HT situation is good enough and I’d just get Fives and enjoy my stereo.Era 300s edging Fives on the basis of more sustainable (newer) but I think they’d compete better with Fives if I had the Sub
By experimenting, I Have just discovered that if you manually start an on-demand Apple Music radio station show in the Sonos app - and then when a particular song plays - you use a follow up voice command to say “Hey Sonos - Play More Songs by this artist” it does. Also “plays more songs by an artist” - if you start by manually starting a station based initially on a particular song - where it usually plays a playlist of similar songs by various artists - and follow up with a similar voice command to the one previously mentioned.
Took me a couple of weeks to make a decision between Bose and Sonos for my home theater/sound system, just a couple of months ago. One of my priority for this system was, and still is, playing music from my phone, local files. Since May 23 a new update just terminated this feature which basically leaves me with a useless bunch of black very expensive boxes. Now, I can't play my own music. Worse decision I ever made in my life when it comes to entertainmemt, sound systems. I wish I had chosen Bose. Feeling VERY frustrated.
On Sonos One - using Sonos Voice Control - “Hey Sonos - Play more songs by this artist” voice command when a certain artist is playing on ‘Apple Music One Live Radio’ is so inspiring that it makes me Eager to listen more and try it on more music artists. Particularly useful if the name of the artist is unfamiliar to pronounce like some of the classical music artists - or you just simply forget what to ask for - making this more convenient - to quickly get to the music. The result is it plays a radio station type playlist which I feel is sequenced in the style of what you have just heard and the chosen tracks portray the style of music that particular artist conveys - a bit like Creating a Station - Based on a particular song.” Alternatively, To get achieve a similar concept you could say “Hey Sonos - Play a station by this Artist” or “Hey Sonos - Play a Playlist by this Artist.”
Hi,Hope someone can help - I’m a bit new to all this!I recently ditched Windows for Linux (didn’t want to throw away a perfectly good laptop!) and am trying to get my Sonos 1 controller on Android to see the music library on the laptop. I think I’ve managed to share the Music folder but whenever I try to enter the file path for the music library, the Sonos app cannot find the computer! I’ve seen a few articles where people seem to have sorted the problem but I simply don’t have the knowledge of where to find the global settings they’re all talking about!!Anyone got the patience to help an old bloke get some music back in his life please?! 🙏
I had a sonos system in a house that I sold and left the old sonos equipment behind. I am having a new house built and getting a new sonos system and want to know how I delete the old products on my sonos acct
I have a quick question on the Sonos Sub (Gen3), paired with the Sonos Arc.When the Arc goes from idle (green light) to active (white light), the Sub makes a one-off gentle thump noise. This happens on most occasions when the system goes from idle to active. I have (factory) reset the Sub and it continues to do this.Sonos told me (having done a systems diagnostic) that this is part of the system in order to alert users to the system moving from idle to active. It wasn't there when I first bought the Sub (2.5 years ago) and has appeared in the last year (perhaps after a software update). There doesn't appear to be any obvious detrimental impact on the performance.Has anybody had experience of such a thump? It doesn’t happen when the music is playing.ThanksWarren
I have: Sonos S1 Connect, Connect:Amp, Netgear GS748Tv5 Smart Switch, and Unifi Wifi. (And pfSense router)I’ve had trouble for a long time w/ packet storms, and with intermittent Sonos sound. Finally sat down and solved it.What doesn’t work: the existing instructions all over the place. With current Sonos firmware, the hidden HTML UI is gone, and the available app method for disabling WiFi (Settings->System->(Room)->(Product Name)->Disable Wifi )… turns it right back on. What helps for understanding: Sonos uses VERY old STP priority settings. Gotta force compatibility w/ that… by setting the “Path cost” incredibly low. What does work: the following sequence and settings:Unifi: turn off any multicast blocking. enable IGMP3 snooping.Smart switch:Switching->STP: Basic: enable STP, Mode: RSTP; enable Forward BDPU while STP disabled (you will disable STP on Sonos ports below) CST config: bridge prio 4096 CST port config (for any Sonos ports): DISABLE STP, Path Cost and Ext P
Question about 2 era 300 as surrounds. In 7.1 or atmos they sound great but when ever I play 5.1 dolby I get almost no sound at all out of them. I got a lot more from 5.1 with 2 ones. Is this correct or is this a bug?
I see there is a common thread among play 3 users that experience sudden power failure...I am now one of these people. I have had my play 3 alongside several other sonos products, all of which have performed well over the past few years. Yesterday, my play 3 suddenly stopped working, and I have come to realise that it will not power up. Have tried several cords, several outlets, etc…I did not lose anything else i the house, had no CB pop, so doubtful any major power surge came along, but nevertheless, the play 3 seems dead. Any new ideas to try? Has sonos admitted yet that there is a porblem with these products? Thanks
I’ve added the sub mini to my network and added it to the Sonos app. When I try to add the sub mini to my room and connect with the Beam, I get an error to check WiFi, check router, etc. I’ve reset to factory many times. I’ve deleted the entire system and started over. I can connect the Beam and the Mini every time to wireless but cannot get the Mini to connect to the Beam. I’ve turned this into Sonos but haven’t called because it’s the weekend. Ticket 133177309
Sonos is up-to-date and is connected to the same net work as my phone same Wi-Fi. I’ve tried to connect it to airplay. It won’t connect to airplay. I’ve done factory reset on it. I’ve unplugged it. I’ll try to connect it to the Bluetooth. Does anybody have any answers?
