Hi, I had issue with playbar : whistling noise coming from power supply unit - transformator. I have used epoxy resin to cover it up and noise is barely hearable. epoxy flowed a bit to a diode and surrounding components just 2cm not more ( would this cause issues?) However : after this I connected it all again and I bass lavel is very low. void this be because of psu fault ? Resin on pcb ? I connected all speakers correctly . all speakers vibrate and works but I can’t hear enough bass . please help !
Hi everyone, I’m trying to set up a home karaoke system and I’d really like to use my existing Sonos setup, rather than buying a separate karaoke speaker (JBL, etc.). Here’s my current setup: Sonos Beam (Gen 2) connected via HDMI ARC Sonos Sub Two Sonos surround speakers Source: Apple TV (YouTube karaoke videos) What I would like to achieve: Use one or two microphones Hear the microphone voice through my Sonos speakers At the same time as the music coming from YouTube on Apple TV Ideally with minimal latency I understand that HDMI ARC is mainly designed as an audio output, not an input, which makes this tricky. My questions: Is it technically possible to inject microphone audio into a Sonos system like mine? Would a mixing console help, and if so, what would the correct signal chain be? Is there any workaround (HDMI audio mixer, extractor, etc.) that could work with Sonos Beam Gen 2? Or is this simply not feasible with Sonos home theater products? I’m open to external hardware if ne
My Arc Ultra and Era 100’s sound like an AM radio.Shallow, tinny, no presence. Wasted money but my Wife likes the voice command and whole house soundDo I add a subwoofer or replace the 100’s with 300’s?
Noticed that the Network option is missing but a Bluetooth is added from some Sonos speakers, app restart sometimes brings it back.MissingNo network but a BluetoothPresentHave network but no BluetoothAdded: wifi 300 stereo pair.
“Wow. I thought this was a stable product.” ”The sound is good when it works.” ”I can’t believe you have to keep resetting the router.” And from me: “This used to work really well. Now it’s just embarrassing.”
Just wanted to share a solution for my issue in not seeing Apple Music as a content service. I live in Germany, but use English. Sonos had my country as ‘en’ in the address instead of Germany. The countries have to match. After that was sorted using the robot chat I still had an issue authorizing Apple. The robot turned me over to Marco. I sent a diagnostic number and he suggested checking if any unit updates were needed. My Beam needed an update. After that was accomplished it worked!
can’t connect try again later / connection timed out / and so many error messages! I’m at the end of my very deep patience. We are all having the same problems but nobody at Sonos cares. I have 1st generation speakers which cost big money and deliver (!!) great sound. Why should I be made to ditch them and spend more big money for the same sound quality? I was a brand ambassador in the beginning, now I always bemoan this terrible company.
I won't buy sonos in the future they make it outdated so you keep buying there setup very annoyed. Anyone found a decent remote
Tonight nothing working…time to throw out or hardwire?
I’m posting this in the hope that it helps someone who may have been in a similar situation. It’s also an extended letter of thanks to this community. Without you guys, I’d probably still be cursing my Sonos setup every day. Short version: With the advice and guidance of this community I made three changes to my home networking and Sonos installation that turned my system from a hated disappointment back into the premium home music system I originally invested in. HOWEVER: These changes were expensive and required me to buy business-level networking products to meet Sonos’ demands. Conclusions:1: Sonos has some work to do on its positioning and expectation management. Yes, a three-player system will probably work out of the box in a consumer wi-fi environment. No, a 15 player multi-generation, multi-room system probably won’t.2: This community is one of Sonos’ biggest assets. Thank you. Long version: The background:I’ve had Sonos in my house since the ZP100 was launched in th
Hi allLooking to enter the Sonos community, however want to ensure that this setup will work prior to purchase Existing equipment - Apple TV, Projector (no arc)Looking to purchase - Amp, in ceiling set & in wall set Q1 | Is the correct configuration to have this system work Apple TV → (via HDMI) HD Fury → (via HDMI) 1. Projector & (via HDMI arc) 2. Amp and if I were to include additional al equipment eg PC, Set top box then it would be a HDMI switch between Apple TV and HD fury Q2 | Is one or two amps required to support a set of ceiling and a set of wall speakers?
Brand new sonos sub gen 4 bass keeps cutting out every few seconds. Can anyone help pls?
I currently have in my Mancave a Playbar, 2 Play 3’s and a Subwoofer. They all sound great. In another room a floor away, I have 2 Play 5’s, Gen 1 -- well past their prime. I have just now upgraded to Sonos FIves (but have not yet installed them) and my thought is to take the Play 3’s in the Mancave and move them upstairs and use the new Sonos Five’s in place of the Play 3’s as rear speakers in the Mancave. WIfe doesn’t like the size of the Play 5, Gen 1’s in “her space” anyway. Smaller Play 3’s would probably be acceptable. Conundrum is what to do with the existing Sub? Can the new Sonos Fives co-exist with the existing Sub or is the Sub now useless.
ios app, changing volume or room assignments. hit apply and it reverts to where it was (imagine its way too loud and your wife is yelling turn it down). then the little circle spins and you cant turn it down. or off. its been years since they broke what was once a virtually bulletproof app. sonos will be primarily remembered as a case study of how poor management can utterly destroy a successful company.
Hello guys,I have been using Amazon Music Family and my Plex library for years with Sonos.Since a few weeks/months, the Sonos app won’t play any content I select from the Amazon library. Just an error message.I tried to re-authorize Amazon Music from my phone. The process went through. But again, after searching for a title to play, error message.I tried to suppress Amazon Music from the services, to add it again. Same issue.Suppressed again, and now, when I select Amazon, it says impossible ta parse music, one issue occured when connecting to Amazon Music (translated from french). My Amazon Music account is active I can play from the iOS app.Other issue: Plex ! SOLVED: it was a port forwarding issue. the plex console turne red on external access after being green for a moment. The same, when I try to play music from Plex, I have a message saying “No available Plex Media Server has music libraries. Please create a music library”.I do have a server with a music libray.I check in Plex cons
Hi all,I’ve read that the Sonos combo adapter for the ERA 300 (which has both 3.5mm analogue and ethernet inputs) allows for direct streaming into the unit. I’m assuming that this should allow for better quality music, as only the only conversion would be via the unit’s internal D-A.Does anyone have experience of this setup, and if so, have they had a notable improvement in music quality over Bluetooth 5, wi-fi 6 or 3.5mm audio input via Sonos adapter?
Sonos Roam charge time with a 75W charger takes 30 minutes from dead. Do not buy if you want to watch a basic device take forever to turn on.
It’s clear the direction of travel for the app is cloud check-ins before providing local services. Why else would we have to close - reopen the app constantly when in decent WiFi range?as a customer of some duration at this point I have been debating whether I’ll add/upgrade and I’ve not pulled the trigger. Reasons? I no longer trust Sonos. It’s been a long time since this mess of an app was pushed on us and it’s still architecturally not customer focused. It’s all about subscription future for investors. there is no positive direction of progress now just a slow attempt to fix what was broke. Can’t change volume? Crash the app. Great. You know my mum used to be able to use this stuff. Now it’s a usability disaster, and that was your thing. I have a medium sized install - but a significant cash value to me - and frankly it’s a year away from a pivot to another less proprietary co. oh and the fact you offer sale % off greater than the reward % and attempt to default the basket to the
I’ve seen lots of threads with issues with Sonos Radio HD, I’m surprised at how poor it seems to be. I’ve just taken out a month free trial. I have a playbase connected to 2 play 1s in surround sound using S2. Often Sonos radio HD will randomly cut out for no reason then start again a few seconds later. It’s not my system as I have Apple Music subscription set to highest quality and until recently used Spotify with the same set up. I’ve never had any issues with randomly cutting out mid track, but this is a constant theme with Sonos radio hd. When I switch back to Apple Music via Sonos this never happens. Like many people it seems to have been reported the second they switch from the standard Sonos radio to radio hd the cut outs start. So there must be an issue with there streams/compression. Also even when it works ok the I’ve noticed the sound quality is not remotely in the same ball park as Apple Music or Spotify. I’ve also tried tidal in the last year and no cut outs issue
Like the topic title says, Just putting it out there. Hope option for Front speakers happen soon.New CEO really seems to finally care about customers wishes and wants. Hopefully this is one first things that comes out very soon. After this happens, love see DTS;X finally arrive.
So, as I’m waiting for the Arc Ultra to arrive, I stereo paired the Era300s and then added one Sub4.I then saw I was able to add the second Sub4 to the stereo pair. From what I read this shouldn’t be possible unless I had an Arc.And yet here I am, with a stereo pair of Era300s and two subs.A bug of the app? A new feature not documented?
We have a very old Aiwa CX-77 stereo, for sentimental reasons SWMBO want let it go and it's currently sat doing nothing.I've had a look on the back and there are no pre-amp outputs, the only outputs are speaker connectors on the rear and large headphone output (yes it's that old).Because it has CD player and tape decks not it would be great to be able to use those too.So my question, is there any chance I can connect this to a Sonos. The CD player has a ribbon plug to connect it to the main body, however the turntable does have phono leads, so I'm figuring I could use that separately with a pre amp, but it would be really cool to get the whole thing connected (extra brownie points to play her dad's only CDs, tapes)Obviously the sound quality it's going to be brilliant with this old kit, but it would be nice to hear it.Thanks in advance
