Controllers and Music services

Thanks again to the awesome engineers who have ruined SiriusXm playback because of a new cloud service error. This company’s engineers are useless and I have no idea how things get worse and worse but they do. Add it to the Apple Music problem that has been going to for over 2 years.  So maybe by 2030 all this will get sorted out. 

I’ve posted on here previously about issues I’ve had when accessing Apple Music using my Sonos Connect.Since I last posted things have only got worse with connection being lost, errors relating to file format, tracks cutting out or not even starting.  Restarting my Sonos Connect seemed to help but fairly soon all the problems came back.I recently made the decision to embark on the Qobuz journey and took a 30 day free account option.Over the last week I’ve tested Qobuz stream using my Sonos Connect A LOT!   I haven’t had any problems using Qobuz whatsoever.That’s not quite true as I had one album where tracks were skipped.  I diagnosed this as a rights problem because it was a movie soundtrack - it was Paris, Texas by Ry Cooder.I’ll still keep my Apple Music subscription because I buy CDs - in order to benefit the artists more (I hope) but I’ll keep this in sync with Qobuz using Soundiiz.First time I’ve been happy with my Sonos kit in ages.

My Sonos One SL and Sonos Beam have recently been unable to Airplay Youtube videos. They still work well with Youtube Music and Spotify and other apps with Airplay. The Youtube videos just turn black with a message “Something went wrong, tap to try again”. These speakers have not had any issues in the past few years. They are all connected to the same Wifi network and have the most updated system software. Is there a fix for this?

Hello Sonos Team,First of all, thank you for continuously improving the Sonos experience with the S2 app. I really appreciate the smoother interface and the new features it brings.However, I noticed that one important feature from the S1 app is no longer available in S2: the ability to play music stored locally on my phone. In S1, I used this frequently to play tracks directly from my device, but in S2 this option has been removed.I’m not sure why this feature was discontinued, but it was very useful in situations where streaming services are not available, or when I simply want to play my own music library without relying on the internet.Could Sonos please consider bringing this feature back to the S2 app in a future update? I believe many users like me would greatly appreciate having local playback as an option again.Thank you for your time and for listening to community feedback.Best regards,

Hi, wondering if anyone can help. I have a beam and 2 x One SLs set up as surround sounds. One of the SLs appeared to not be on the app so I reset, re-added to my systems as a separate room but it removed my beam from the app.  I reset all of them and found that whenever I now add SLs to the network they wipe my beam from the app. But the beam is still viewable and useable in Spotify. All speakers are up to date.  it anyone has any ideas it’ll be appreciated.thanks 

Hi everyone,I’m running into a strange issue with the Sonos Controller app. When I make changes (like adding songs to a queue, adjusting volume, or grouping rooms) on my phone, the updates don’t always sync to the Controller app on my tablet or desktop. Sometimes it takes a long time to refresh, and other times it doesn’t sync at all unless I force close the app and restart it. I’ve already tried reinstalling the app on both devices, checked that everything is on the same Wi-Fi network, and confirmed both controllers are running the latest version. Still, the problem keeps happening. Has anyone else experienced this syncing issue between different controllers? Is there a setting I might be overlooking, or could this be related to my router/network setup? Please assist as I am not a technical person. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Would love the ability to play my sources with zero coloration from the Sonos DSP - Current setup is Stream Apple Music through Sonos App Stream FLACs from Windows Share via Plex or Sonos Music Library Have turntable connected to Line-in on Sonos 5 stereo pair Have CD player connected to other line-in on the Sonos 5 pair My understanding is no matter what I do, Sonos DSP will add some ‘colorization’ and I am not getting the cleanest truest sound from the audio sources Is the any activity to allow for users to defeat the DSP built in?  If not, is there a technical reason as to why not, or is it more “Sonos is designed to be really plug & play and Trueplay is good enough for 99% of users’ Would also be nice to have control over more than just bass/treble - any plans to add an in app EQ?  I know with KEF LS line of powered speakers no such DSP is mandated so it’s def possible 

Hi can anyone help me pleaseI am a Mac user I have never had a problem with my meta data before until the wonderful app changeoverI have upgraded my whole system to be gen 2 when my Sonos is playing the ID tags and artwork is not coming up properly now but some of it is and all I have done is changed from GEN one to GEN two When I look up in iTunes they are tagged and artwork is there so why when converting it to Sonos does this all change and go wrong?If someone can explain this step-by-step would be wonderful    

Starting to lose my patience with this now. I’ve had numerous phone calls and chats, read up on the site forums. Is it just me or does sonos and BT not work? I’ve tried disabling all security on all devices 🙄 Any help before I stick this lot on ebay and buy something that actually works? Is it me or the product? 😔 

Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Many music files which I have played successfully over several years have now mysteriously vanished.  Two albums which I played only yesterday have now disappeared.  I bought into Sonos a long time ago so use the Sonos1 app on both my Mac and iPhone and despite refreshing / indexing the library they have (along with numerous other albums) completely gone.  They are still there in my iTunes library on my Mac but Sonos has stopped “seeing” them.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Hi anybody noticed sound on Amazon music not as good after latest update? Sounds less clear more bassy.Going to do another trueplay see if that helps.

When I try and use AirPlay to listen to music on my Sonos Beam Gen 1 it is now asking for an on-screen code from my Beam. There is no code or screen of course! Any suggestions?

Can someone point me to the statement with Sonos says they don’t force updates because without updating I can’t access my system to use any other functionality and updates are turned off if this is true that they don’t force updates. This is a miss representation and other actions need to be taken against Sonos

I can never get my app to work with my group or network. I’ve factory reset several times and i can’t even play one effing song on the porch without having to spend 2 hours to fix it all. which, only lasts a day.  Friends, romans, countrymen… how the EFF did you let this happen to an app that worked every time.  You guys literally had one job. Play music out of my speaker(s). If I owned the company, I’d FIRE YOU ALL.

Always comes: Connection to Spotify was disconnected????I then have to switch to the Spotify app, the title Search there and then start the song Radio. Then it works.But it's cumbersome and it used to work via the Sonos app 🤔“ I have carried out further tests and can now say with a high probability that it is probably a current bug of the Sonos function "Title Radio", which is implemented by some services.I tested it with Deezer and Spotify each via the current versions of the Sonos app for iOS and Android.Result with Sonos App on iOS:- Title Radio works with Spotify- Title Radio does not work with DeezerResult with Sonos App on Android:- Title Radio does not work with Spotify- Title Radio does not work with Deezer With Spotify on Android I get the same error message as the user mentioned above.With Deezer, Andr

I just upgraded from a Galaxy S23 Ultra to a Galaxy Fold 7.And doing the same thing, i've always done to play music, which is to open the spotify app, click the speaker button to connect to my sonos and then play music through the spotify app. With this new phone after about ten minutes or so the sonos stops playing and the music kicks back to playing on the spotify app on the phone.I can reconnect it and then ten minutes later, it does the same thing. This last time after I reconnected it by clicking the speaker button in the spotify app I turned off wifi on my phone. Thinking somehow that might do something.. But it didn't, it ended up kicking back to the phone anyways.I have about a dozen sonos speakers on my network. But I usually only play 3 to 4 at a time, which was the case this time. I have an eero 6 pro wifi mesh setup.I don't know if this is a spotify issue or a sonos issue but I figured I would ask here first, thanks!

I couldn't be happier with my new Sonos Arc Ultra with Era 100 surround set. However. The volume gets quite loud and I don't want to wake up my toddler or annoy my neighbours. Adding a timer function is a MUST HAVE for this device. It's not hard to implement: just turn on night mode every night at 22.00 and turn it of at 06.00. That's it.I have found dozens of topics on these forums and on Reddit requesting this feature. Please Sonos - add it quickly! This is a must have!

Trying to access Relisten through Sonos app. All I get is “No content items available.” I reinstalled Relisten in my Sonos app, but nothing changed.

How can we turn explicit filter off ? 

iOS 26 was released earlier today. While I’m not yet brave enough to go for it, I’m curious about other’s experiences with it.

For the past few days, the tracks on an album or playlist have been stopping a few seconds before the end and then moving on to the next track.The two One speakers are no longer playing anything, only the Playbase is. I have to pause and then resume playback for the sound to come back through all the speakers.Is anyone else experiencing this problem?Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.

Amazon Music Ultra HD (albeit I guess at 48KHz) has been playing succesfully on my paired Fives, Port, Roam and Play: Five (2nd Generation). In fact I’ve noticed more Ultra HD options over the last few weeks.Today though trying to playing A Pink Floyd album (A Saucerful...) it wouldn’t play and a message appeared:Amazon Music. it's encoded at an unsupported sample rate 48000 hz which should be playable! Other albums which previously played as Ultra HD still do, others now as HD.Anybody also having this (or able to solve!) problem. Thanks for any help.

My CR200 is no longer connecting (after a Sonos engineer did some.recent work which fixed another problem). Question: If I do a “Factory Reset Controller” on my CR200, will I lose all my Sonos playlists (after 20 years of painstaking work — I don’t want to even remotely risk this)??  Thank you for any info. 

So, depending on page in the S1 app the menu is either placed at the bottom and consistent with the rest of the page, or in most cases the menu is instead at the top, with some kind of ”new” look, not consistent with the design and also leaving the place at the bottom, where the menu used to be, blank. I see absolutely no benefit here. What was the idea behind this change? It’s not like this on iPhone. 

Sonos for Windows 11 starts but turns itself off while searching for system.  My system works fine with both the latest Android and iOS apps. I have tried deleting it, clearing the registry, restarting windows and downloading and reinstalling it on Windows but have the same problem.My network is set to “Private, and I have set a rule on my firewall, which is provided by Bitdefender.Any help would be appreciated
