I’d been getting a 701 error after setting up a Play:5 1st gen after moving. Couldn’t figure what it was.In the meantime I’d upgraded the WD MyCloud EX2 Ultra to OS5 just before moving when speakers were packed. I am starting yet another thread on this common topic to convince Sonos and Stingray to work out their kinks. This is beyond frustrating. One minute the service is working fine; the next, that annoying message comes up about being unable to play due to connection being lost. Nothing changed, so why is this happening? It’s been a constant annoyance ever since I got my first Sonos speakers a couple of years ago. FIX IT!!! Over the years, I have unplugged and plugged in the router, unplugged and plugged in the speakers, unloaded and reloaded Stingray. All software has been updated. Even if that works, it’s temporary. Totally unsatisfactory performance. Diagnostic: 2137151423.  

I’ve searched and found multiple topics about this but they’re older and can’t be responded to.  Sonos has chimed in and said they’re working on a fix over 3 years ago but here we are in December of 2020 and it’s still not working properly.  Is this ever going to be fixed? Any solutions or work arounds that I may have missed that don’t include creating smaller playlists?

Hi,For the past 2 weeks every time I play off of Spotify there is no sound for the first 10-15 seconds and then it will start playing.  It looks like it’s playing on the app but no sound is coming out.  I tried resetting my router.  Any other tips? Paul

The play all on Tidal thru my Sonos just stopped working.  It plays just one sone and stops.  Before it went thru all the songs of the artist.   The top tracks works on Spotify but just stopped on Tidal in the last week.  What is the issue?

Hi allI’m trying to use the ‘Stream What You Hear’ application to stream from my Windows laptop to my Sonos SL 1 but it’s not working,SWYH looks to be running, but the Sonos controller app can’t seem to play the stream: It attempts to connect but nothing happens and it fails - no error messge.The SWYH record function is working so I think that end of things is ok.I followed these instructions:https://www.howtogeek.com/292842/how-to-stream-any-audio-from-your-pc-to-a-sonos-player/ Has anyone had similar issues?Thanks in advance.

In my Imported Playlists imported from Music app for macOS (Version10.15.7) using a .xml file, songs with accented letters in their titles show up in the imported playlists, but they show up as their .mp3 file name rather the song title, they don’t show their cover art, and the songs won’t play. The same tracks are indexed fine in the music library on Sonos and play with no problem when not played in a playlist. Has anyone found a fix for this? Thanks!

I am a premium subscriber to YouTube Music (YTM). I love the playlists that YTM provides and maintains. I have added many of them to my Library for quick reference. Yesterday, all of the YTM created playlists are no longer appearing in my Library through the Sonos app and the Sonos application on my Mac. They DO still exist when I connect directly to YTM.I spent a decent amount of time with Sonos Support last evening resulting in an open case, currently with no resolution. Did this happen to anyone else?

When I set up the Sonos app originally it accessed the files in my Music folder on the phone just fine.  However, I recently have made changes to the folder and the Sonos app will not update.  Tapping Update Music Index Now in settings asks me to confirm that I want it to scan files and then does nothing when I tap OK.  Deleting and reinstalling the app made no difference.  Moving the Music folder to break all connections and then putting it back made no difference.  The original display of files remains unchanged no matter what I do.  I can’t find any way to make updates that actually works.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to get Sonos S2 to index my music library which is located on an external drive on my IMac. I have given Sonos full disk access and added it to allowed firewall connections as recommended on the Sonos site but the app will still not index my library. The same set up was used on the S1 app with no issues?

Hi all, I have a sonos beam which has been working perfectly for over a year. Over the last few weeks I have had multiple problems including not being able to connect to the S2 app, spotify connect and Alexa not playing music when asked (even though the request is acknowledged). I can occasionally get music to play through airplay although this is patchy at best.I have tried resetting on multiple occasions and am able to set up a new system but the same problems persist.I have a feeling it has something to do with the S2 app but am now unable to set up the beam on the legacy app.My beam is essentially a nice looking brick at the moment so any help would be very much appreciated!

I was a happy user of Google Music and Sonos for years. When Google Music became YouTube music I really tried to like it but I don’t. At least not how it’s implemented on Sonos. No big deal. I’ve nixed my Google paid subscription and now have Spotify Premium.Here’s the issue --- I have a lot of playlists on Sonos that have a combination of local library files (served from a NAS) and tracks from Google Music. Is there a simple way to redirect those Google tracks to Spotify? I really don’t want to manually recreate all those playlists. Further complicating this is that fact that I can’t easily tell when looking at a playlist if a specific track is in my library or Google’s. Any help is appreciated

Just upgraded to Catalina, and SONOS is now useless. Despite being able to see and link to the USB drive with my music library, SONOS insists there's nothing there. I'm guessing it's some sort of paranoid OSX security setting - but would appreciate any help from you guys......

Hi, Can anyone help me understand how to get Sonos to work properly when trying to fast forward a radio show when I’m listening to catch-up?Everything is good when I click on a show to listen and it will play from start to finish but if I want to skip forward 30 seconds or worse jump forward a few hours I often get nothing. Sometimes I get a spinning wheel and after some time it will skip, most of the time it will fail. I assumed maybe it was something on TuneIn’s side and just gave up months ago, but today I tested and actually it works fine on their website. The problem lies with Sonos, unless its an API issue from TuneIn - can anyone help or will Sonos look into it?Thanks.

[Soap-box]Every time the Sonos software is updated this happens. The fix is NEVER the same. After spending $2000 on speakers (that work great when the software works) its frustrating to have to do this again…. and again.My Mac is on BigSur 11.0.1I just updated my Sonos:controller: 12.2.2 Build: 61183220Hardware version: 1.12.1.7-1.2 Everything 2 days ago was working fine. Now, the music library (which didnt change locations) will not allow me to add it (dont know why I have to do this on an upgrade anyway) so, while I CAN listen to Pandora, iTunes music is not permissible. What have I done to attempt fix it?1- Turned off firewall (norton 360) - [didnt help]2- Uninstalled norton360 - [didnt help]3- Gave Sonos full disk access permissions [didnt help]4- Revisited Privacy and Security Settings, re-set them [didnt help]5- re-installed Norton and re-associated permissions with app [didnt help]6- Cussed a great deal as now the plesaure of listening to music has now pissed me off [didnt help]

It doesn’t happen when using Spotify on my iphone. It’s only when the two are combined.Can anyone else hear this and any ideas what’s happening?Thanks! 

My Play:1 keeps switching to TuneIn randomly. I have two Play:1 and a Play:3 but it only affects one of the Play:1’s

I don’t know if other users find this, but when I connect to a radio station via Tunein (e.g. BBC Radio 4), I get the current programme title shown (as I would get on the DAB station) in the app.  Connecting to the same station via Sonos radio, only shows the station name. Anyone else find this?  And is there perhaps a setting on Sonos Radio to change this behaviour? TIA. Wilf

When trying to use Youtube Music with Sonos One (regardless of the activation way - either iOS app or voice assistant) I am very frequently getting playback issues: it’s playing a song and then suddenly displays an error message saying “the music can’t be decoded correctly” or something similar and skips the song being played. That’s annoying, so I was forced to switch to Google Music, the last has no issues like that. Considering the same songs can be played with no issues on Youtube Music when listening on browser or on mobile devices via Youtube Music app ( headphones, not Sonos ) I am making a conclusion that the problem is on Sonos side.

I have set network to private.  I have configured firewall as explained on the FAQ.  I have tried other fixes.  None have worked or have lasted as a fix.  Most articles on here are too old and the instructions no longer apply.  Please help.  Happy to submit diagnostic report.

I have recently upgraded to a Synology NAS 920+ and transferred my music library, but it will not add and keeps suggesting it is an error 900. I have modified the registry as suggested, but it made no difference.I can see the music share from a computer using the credentials set up for the Sonos system but cannot set up the music library on either a PC or Apple device?Update after adding SMB 1 to the NAS I can see the share but get access denied, even though I used the username and password to get to the share?Any ideas?

I’m trying to setup a Sonos one second edition with Apple Music and Alexa voice service so I can play songs on the speaker by asking to play music, but Alexa says I need to enable the skill for the sonos one second edition in the Alexa app, then ask her to discover devices. I have the Apple Music skill setup in the Alexa app, and it still says the same thing when I ask it to play music. I have the preferred music service as Apple Music setup as well. I can use airplay to get Apple music to work on the speaker, and I can play Apple Music through the Sonos app, but it won’t recognize Apple Music when I try to use a voice command through Alexa. I’ve seen many people with this issue. Is there a fix for this?

The podcasts I saved in My Radio Stations in TuneIn are no longer updating with the latest editions.  Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks
