Controllers and Music services

I have a SONOS Playbar, and am running SONOS 2 controller for Mac.  Version 12.2,  Sonos OS  S2,  Build: 61182310  Sonos ID: 114287825.My problem is that I can not establish a connection to my Music Library(iTunes Music) on my iMac without getting an error message.  Therefore I cannot play music. The music library does NOT appear in window, and the error message states:Sonos was unable to add the music folderAccess to the shared folder ‘//Michaels-iMac/Music’ is denied - check the username and/or password.Last week I called the Sonos technical support and attempted to resolve this problem  for over an hour to no resolution.  The Tech elevated this problem to a higher level and he sent me an email to establish an appointment.  My appointment with higher level Tech resolved the problem after several minutes, with this Tech accessing my ‘screen’ and typing in the path to my Music Library which established the connection and I could see all of my playlist and music.  The remedy to my probl

I use TuneIn to access BBC radio on an almost daily basis.Any shows broadcast on the previous evening are usually available the day after. This was the case until yesterday when recent shows are unavailable.Any known reason for this. I have removed and uninstalled TuneIn but no difference

Hey, Since my LaCie 5 Big has crashed, i installed a new NAS Synology ds218+ (2 x 4 TB). The back up from my music has been transferred to the NAS. When i’m trying to connect Sonos  to my music library i get this pop up window from Sonos: Sonos can't add the music folder. Make sure the path, username and password are correct. Reason: An issue has occurred when adding the new music in the shared folder \xxxxx\Music\Music LaCie 5Big 10TB - Back Up to the Sonos system. Every time I try to use this speaker its 30-40 min of work to get it working.  then I can't use my playlists, can't even use the AUX cable without going through hell (the stupid software) which limits everything.  I don’t understand why you want to limit (control) us just using a speaker.  Now after all the frustration it just doesn’t even work anymore lol.  just flashes and won’t connect, and apparently according to the website it doesn’t support apple products for set up anymore which is something you have to do constantly with this garbage software.  I’m about to throw this thing in the lake.  Such a waste of time and money.  I’ve wasted so many hours of my life on this trash.  If you are looking to buy one of these (Don’t)!!!!

About a month ago I started having a problem playing Audible books through the Sonos app. When I try to play a book I get an error message saying “Unable to play ‘Opening credits’ - the song is not encoded correctly”. It quickly tries to play the next 4 chapters with the same error message before it fails and stops. I have the seven Harry Potter audiobooks through Audible and I had listened to the first two books with no problem. I would start the book in the Sonos app and then use Alexa for playback controls. With this I only use the Sonos app once in the beginning of a book and not again until I need to start another book. When I went to start the third book, that was when I noticed the problem described above. I tried playing both of the first two books that worked before, but both had the same error. I then tried two Audible Original books and those had the same error. With that it seems that it is unlikely to be a problem with an individual book. My setup is two Play:1’s as a ster

My Amazon music is not playing on my Sonos. I have the free version and it keeps telling me to upgrade. I have removed it and addded it back. I have reauthorized it but nothing works. Any recommendations?

Yesterday (2nd Dec’20) l purchased & downloaded 13 songs from iTunes store. They came from different albums but l grouped them together on iTunes to make an album. I have done this several times previously without issue. However this time there is a problem. After Sonos updated the library only 4 of the 13 songs have appeared. They are all correctly located in the same folder on my NAS, all the data matches that should. I have removed them all from the NAS, updated the library so removed them, added back onto the NAS but still only the 4 appear.Ideas anyone? Cheers

Looking at my network matrix to check out some connection issues (again!) I noticed that one of my devices had no entries at all in the network matrix and when i check the “/usr/sbin/brctl/showstp br0” link it said “STP is disabled for this device”. Presumably this means that this device is not using STP to connect to any other SONOS devices in my system? I have a wired setup, with 5 secondary (hard wired) nodes and 10 tertiary nodes in a 15 node setup. I have only recently noticed the “STP is disabled ...” text.  Does this indicate a problem with the device?  Any ideas how I could check/rectify?  I’ve obviously tried the reset option.  Any advice appreciated!  Thanks A.

music sevices keep going away in IOS app. when i start the app. all my sources are missing except the default ones ( library, sonos radio, and tunein), if i go into settings and add one of the missing servies back, then they will all re-appear. this happens almost every time. Also any songs or podcasts in the queue from any of the missing services won’t be available until I do this 

For some reason, the sonos app often won’t play WERS with tunein,  but if I go to the same station in the new sonos radio station it plays well. If I play directly from tunein, there also are no problems. This seems odd. Surely both sonos/tunein and Sonos radio get the stream from the same source. Anyone have an idea of what is going on?  All other stations I’ve tried work fine.  

Hi I know there was a Sonos update pushed around 11-11-20.  Also upgraded to iOS14.  Now I don’t see my Sonos speakers at all when using Apple Music app and trying to Airplay2 to the various speaker sets.  The Apple TV’s I have do show up in the Airplay 2 list.  Just my 4 different Sonos rooms don’t show.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks.  I was under the impression this was the preferred way to do things for music that was on your phone.   Note to Mods- I started a thread in questions but didn’t have Airplay in the title so this is probably the better thread.  I didn’t see how to edit the other one.  

My sonos can not shuffle my 27000 songs from apple music. Just says Unable to add songs to the queue. Have tried resetting the app, the system and the wi-fi. Still no joy. Sonos has always struggled with my music library, like I can not play my playlists. Any ideas would be gratefully received?

My Apple music playlist not syncing on IOS devices after updating.  On Sonos, I can go into Music Library/songs and see that the new songs are there, but they are not in the playlist. In other words, in my Apple music, I have added Song A into Playlist X. When I update my Sonos, I can see Song A, but it is not in Playlist X.macOS Catalina v10.15.7iPad Air 12.4.9Sonos update is current.Please help!

Hi AllHas anyone else noticed lately that Spotify connect is very hit and miss? I’d say over the last month or so my system hardly ever shows in Spotify. However what I have noticed is if I change Wifi networks from 2.5ghz to 5Ghz or visa versa(different SSID names). They all seem to suddenly appear, then a few hours later they’re gone again. The only difference with my system in this period is the addition of a google tv chromecast which always seems to show in Spotify.  Any ideas if this could be the cause? Thanks! Ryan

I am having connection problems over the last few days. My music is controlled on an iphone 8 via Apple music. When i navigate to my playlists i am getting two error messages "there is a problem please try later" or if i access a playlist "unable to add songs to the queue" I have recently updated my Apple software to iOS 14.2. Are there any issues with that?

I have about 20 playlists on Amazon Music HD, but when accessing the service via the Sonos app, I only see my “Discovery Mix” playlist (originated by the service), none of the playlists I created.  Any idea why this is the case?  I can go into the Amazon Music app and beam my music to Sonos via Airplay, but I’m stumped why Sonos itself won’t show the playlists. Any help would be appreciated - thanks. 

I am struggling to connect my sonos to my WD cloud mirrror which is on a home network to link my music library again. . It used to work before the app was changed, I get an error code 900. Tried them help line but it only works from 09:00 - 17:00 no good to me as I work the same hours. Can anyone assist. I have also tried downloading the app onto a computer and through this have been able to point direclty to the required file but still no joy. Any help would be greatefully recieved.Thanks John21

I have a large amount of itunes music on my iphone. Up until a few months ago I could send the music from my iphone to my Sonos Beam which would then send the music to both of my Sonos One speakers.Now I can only send the music from my iphone to the Sonos Beam , I no longer see my two Sonos One speakers on my phone  Can you help ?

My system is new, and dealer installed.  Dealer also installed state of the art high-speed internet completely replacing previous system.  Everything has worked great, except I just “upgraded” to Sonos HD and it constantly cuts out as if it is buffering.  Doesn’t happen on Prime HD, Spotify, Pandora, etc.  Anyone else have this problem?

Since July, when OS Catalina shredded iTunes, killed .xml files and jumbled my entire music collection into a mess, I have been struggling piecemeal to reorganize it. I had iTunes Match and songs saved on my Mac HD and that worked for a long time, Now I have tried relocating to a NAS (without really knowing how), subscribing to Apple Music to have everything in the cloud, tried to transfer playlists into Sonos playlists and about 12 other things.Bottom line is that I need some pro help to get this thing back to shape. I have requested some quotes from people and they’re looking for $270/hour.Do you have any recommendations for me? Thanks in advance!Jack

Hello AllI’m new to this forum. I have a lovely Sonos system, which is great. I bought a new Move to add to it, but unfortunately I am having some frustrating reliability issues. I have done the obvious things, like rebooting the router, powering the units down, although with the move I cannot connect it to an ethernet cable to update its software as I would with another Sonos unit, (as the Move has no ethernet port I could see).I have re-done the whole system in the past, and the Move appeared on the restarted system, but pretty soon it dropped off again, and now I cannot get it back - it won’t play on either Sonos or on Airplay. The move works on Bluetooth, but when it is on bluetooth, it cannot “see” the other products in the system, so it can’t join in and play the same music. 

I used to be able to play my itunes library through my Sonia speakers and now it won’t let me - help!

I have added an additional album to my music collection and after many updates this is still not showing in my system.I have less than 3000 tracks in the library so space should not be an issueI have checked the metadata and this looks to be correctI am using both Windows 10 and Android 10 for the update processThe music library is stored on a NAS drive and only this album is missingAre there any error logs generated by the system that I can view that may throw any light on the problem?Thanks

Hi. I have just added a Sonos Move to my system which just has 2 play ones linked in stereo.I can play both the move and the play 1’s separately but as some as I turn on the move the play 1’s are no longer visible in the app.  Any suggestions on what I need to doThanks

HiRecently our Sonos stopped showing songs in the Activity Playlist under iTunes services.I’ve tried to remove and re-add iTunes / Apple Music but still this is a problem.Remaining features of Apple Music seem to work fine. Please adviseBest regardsMariusz
