Controllers and Music services

I recently moved apartments, and thus had to reset my Sonos Play:1 When adding the Spotify service I encountered no problems, I can browse my playlists and search for music in the Sonos app just fine. But whenever I try to play something from Spotify, the app loads for a while (~10 seconds) before giving an error message that connection to Spotify was broken. The same goes for trying to access my Sonos speaker through the Spotify app – I can see the speaker in question, but any connection attemps fails. This only seems to apply to the Spotify Service, as Sonos Radio plays just fine. I now live in a managed apartment, and don’t have admin rights/access to the wireless network. How do I resolve this?

Sonos should make a remote control for turning the volume up or down, pause, skip and rewindAs an iphone user the buttons don’t work on my iphone 16e. Would be nice that I didn’t have to go into the app to do those things

I currently have 2 Sonos Amps, 2 Beams and a Play One in my home and it was working just fine for years until recently, I’ve noticed I’m unable to control my system in the app. I can see each device but when I click play, it doesn’t actually start any music. I had a friend over who connected to my wifi network and was able to control it himself, no problems. I also logged in on my Windows PC and was able to control it, so it seems to just be my iPhone. I found if I unplugged the amps and plugged them back in, it seems to connect to my phone then but I’ve only tried that a couple of times otherwise I just don’t listen to music or find another device to control it. My Sonos app has always been up to date, along with all of my speakers/devices.Any suggestions?? 

I was an early Sonos fan, had several S1 products and everything worked great. Now, Sonos has split into S1 and S2 (don’t get me started) and I’ve divorced and my ex-wife who never really liked it decided to dump the old S1 Connect and Connect:Amp products back on me. In the meantime I have since bought my own S2 products and set up a new S2 system.I’d love to use the two Connect products and the Connect:Amp product to get an upgrade discount on a new Amp for some outdoor speakers, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do it. I tried doing a factory reset on the connect units (worked fine), setting up a new S1 system (also fine), and then going to the website (new components show up under my account, system). I’ve been using my Sonos setup for a while now.Overall it works well, but I’ve had a few connection dropouts here and there.Nothing constant, just occasional issues that need a restart.I was curious if others have had a similar experience or if it’s been fully stable for you.

I accidentally thumbs down on a favorite artist’s song and now none of the artist’s songs play. How can I correct the thumbs down and restore the artist.

Hello Sonos Team and Community,I own multiple Sonos speakers (including One SL) and have been a loyal user for years. Recently, I can no longer play Radio Rock (Finland) on Sonos. Instead of the station, I only get “Welcome to TuneIn” and ads looping endlessly.Here’s what I’ve tried:Removed and re-added TuneIn (New) in the Sonos app Logged in with my TuneIn account and added Radio Rock as a favorite Rebooted speakers, reset network, cleared cache Tried Sonos desktop app and mobile app Verified that the station works in TuneIn’s own appNothing works. Previously, I could add a custom stream URL to Sonos and bypass TuneIn issues, but Sonos removed that feature in recent updates. Hello,,,I’m noticing lots of issues playing Amazon Music through Sonos speakers, anybody else experiencing this or know if it’s a known (and accepted issue by Sonos)? Issues with shuffle; constantly cycles through a small selection of songs in a playlists.Refusal to play songs later in a playlist; I manually select a songs but each and every time, the first song of the playlist plays, not the song selected. Regards Ted

hello, I'm fooling with my mac’s wifi private address settings.options are off, fixed, rotating.seems that Sonos doesn't like the ‘rotating’ option, which I believe is more secure.Am I missing a setting/option, or is this the way it needs to be? thanks

I’ve added 2 Spotify accounts to my Sonos app, is there a way to switch between the accounts on the speakers without manually going onto the app to switch them? It had me nickname each account, is that a way to switch between linked accounts? 

I have an issue with the S2 controller where the music library keeps showing zero songs in it even though the music file share is still registered in the Sonos app. The app recommends a workaround (in my opinion) to re-add the library again. I’ve been doing this for some time now it’s getting silly. Once I re-add the library everything is fine again but not for long…I see numerous other posts about this issue dating back a year and that the Sons response is we ‘consider’ it fixed in the latest update. My system is up-to-date as of 4th Jan 2026 and I can tell you it is very much still an issue.

Once again saavn is not working. It just says error when I click on the music service.

I am selecting an album from Apple Music, through the Sonos app. Very often I get the message “Couldn’t play [title]. Couldn’t connect to Apple Music.” This is strange as it affects only the first song on the album and not all songs in the album. Especially for classic music this is so ridiculous as arbitrary movements of a symphony are skipped.

I have read the two earlier postings by Simon_140 on this problem which was not resolved and I wanted to report that I have also been experiencing the same problem.I have an Amazon Echo Dot 2 with the BBC Skill enabled.  In the original configuration, it fed speakers directly via Bluetooth and the “continue” function worked as expected (as it still does).  Recently I added a Sonos Play:1 and configured Alexa to play the Echo Dot 2 through this device.  Since doing this, the “continue” function no longer works.I reported this problem to the BBC but they could not reproduce (I presume they were simply playing direct on the Echo Dot).  Then today I read the threads in this forum by Simon_140 and I realised that my problem was related.  As described by Somon_140 I also find that the same function does not work when I try it from the BBC Sonos S1 app on my Pixel 7 mobile.I assume that when “continue” is requested the URL passed by the BBC skill / app includes a param

I’ve been using a shared drive on Windows 11 for quite a while. The setup for Sonos has always been hinky but it mostly worked. Recently, I have had a bunch of problems crop up more frequently. 913 errors every couple of days, having to reboot and reshare… I’ve tried a handful of things with no luck.Today’s issue relates to streaming a 20 minute song from the shared drive. Hi All I have just replaced my creaking Buffalo Linkstation with a shiny new Synology 225+ but I cannot get my Sonos system to see the shared folder for my music. I see there are a large number of threads on this issue as simply enabling SMBv1 doesnt seem to be enough, and a lot of the solutions appear to my reading to be complicated (Ill admit Im not hugely technically proficient) and involve rolling back parts of the NAS operating system etc which Id be quite worried about doing Can any one point me to the simplest/most efficient way of getting this to work please? And apologies again for asking what I know has been asked before, but Im hoping for a simple solution that with my limited understanding I can do.    

HiI have Sonos since around 2017. Since two weeks I have a new computer with Windows 11 and now I am unable to use the Sonos Music Library on the Windows App (Sonos Controller for PC). Error messages:Sonos was unable to add the music folder. Please check that the path to the folder, and the username and password if needed, are correct. Reason: Access to the shared folder "\\XY" is denied.or"\\XY" is no longer available. When I open the Sonos app on a recently factory reset iPhone, and try to log in, it redirects me to the login.sonos.com website but I get a blank white screen. On the same phone if I go directly to the Sonos.com website and try to login I get the same blank white screen. I tried in Safari and Chrome cleared my cache, tried private browsing, turned off about 15 other security settings that I could think of. And nothing seems to work. Of course it works fine on my Android phone using Chrome browser. When it is being redirected a small letter I with a circle around it pops up or have a second so I'm sure there's still some security issue but the heck if I can figure out what it is.  It is an older iPhone for whatever that is worth.  Technical details.  Thing I have tried: -Verified JavaScript is Enabled in Safari Advanced settings.-Cleared Safari History and Website Data to remove corrupted cookies.- Attempted login via Chrome (including Incogn

Hi, I have a problem with playing Apple Music Chill recently. Everything from Apple Music works just great, only Apple Music Chill radio won’t play and the app shows message the It’s not encoded correctly.Everything others plays with no problem.I tried to reauthorized the Apple Music, delete it and add it again etc.Strange is that all other stations plays with no problem and I doubt that Apple is encoding that one station differently then the others.Any idea? Thanks, Jakub 

I am trying to set up my playbar and use the IR to use with my new TV and remote.  When I try to connect with the app, the app does not let me log in.  It get stuck in the endless loop.  I have reset the playbar, I have reset the router, I have installed and uninstalled the app, I’m using android.  Is there any way to do this?  I have read and researched but none of the suggestions are working for me.  Any help is appreciated

Happy New Year!I recently got a new Sonos system Era 100, I cannot seem to get the Pandora issue to connect and it seems I’ve troubleshot it all Location Address is in my profile rebooted router / internet logged in properly to pandora- even states that you are all set, but once it goes back to the Sonos app it says didn’t connect properly  restarted app multiple timeswhats next gang? Any assistance appreciated -newbie to the group! 

Last year after much debate I spent the time to update ALL the tags on my compilation albums(with Album Artist = Various Artists)  to overcome the annoying issue of all compilation albums or albums with guest artists becoming fragmented.  Although I didn't (and still don't agree) with Sonos’s approach to the underlying problem of albums with identical names becoming combined I realised that there was no indication of a change in policy so I made the edits and re-catalogued everything.    Compilation albums were then represented  correctly  as one album with the downside being that the contributing artists no longer appeared in the artists view.    (I didn't agree with the Sonos solution because they could have just restricted the solution to the handful of people who suffered the issue and make them update the tags on just the duplicate titled albums rather than make every media library users update tags on their albums in

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this: I connect my iPhone 16 Pro Max to my Sonos system. Apple Music plays but when changing songs, the audio drops. Restarting the song then kicks the audio in.  my daughter does not appear to be having this problem with Spotify.  any insight/advice is appreciated.
