Recently the Sonos app will not play playlists from my iTunes library. It will play albums and songs no problems. But no playlists. Sonos seems to not care about people with music libraries. First they broke the compilations function so that every song in a compilation with differnet artist is considered a different album. Now this. It is exasperating. It keeps me from buying any other Sonos products as I contemplate elternatives.

Odd, it’s currently playing ‘normal’ playlists for me. Have you called Sonos Support to discuss it? It could be a local issue with connecting to Apple’s servers properly, easily rectified, or an indication of something else.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

For the compilation album problem, look in Settings → Music Library under Music Library Settings, Group Albums by. You can select “iTunes Compilations”, “Album Artists”, Both, or Do not group.

It does not solve the problem of a compilation album being fragmented based on album artists instead of the freaking album name -- which is the obvious choice, and how it worked for years b4 being broken.

Maybe this will help?

I’m kind of curious…what did Sonos Support say, when you called in? They have access to much more hard data, contained in the diagnostics, than we do, and might be able to identify the actual error you’re experiencing.

Apparently Sonos has issues with XML playlists.  At least on the IOS Sonos app.  Not sure about the computer apps.  I have M3U playlists so this is only based on what I have read here.
