Controllers and Music services

Dear all, I've been used the Sonos 2 app on my Android Mobile phone since yesterday with no issues. Today I' ve upgraded the app but now it doesn't open anymore or at least takes more than one minute to become operational. When I open it the black splash screen with "SONOS" logo in white in the middle appears but remains stuck in this way...after some time the SONOS logo disappear and remains only the black screen....Some time I've to force-close the app....Sometimes -instead - after a long time the app showed me the main page and I'm able to use it... I've also tried to uninstall the app and reinstall it but with no success...always the same problem...My mobile phone is a  Realme X2 Pro and runs Android v. 11. It' s not a memory or processor issue because this problem only appears when I use the "new/updated version of the app…Does anyone faced the same problem??Thanks in advance 

This new app has been a terrible experience to the point where if it is not fixed I will have to abandon my whole house Sonos Hardwired infrastructure. I can barely use the app to control my home. Latency in connecting, if at all. 1-2 min delays in response to action, volume challenges, etc. Etc. When will this be remedied?  

Up until recently I have been listening to my turntable (no Bluetooth, SL1200) on my Bluetooth headphone by routing the sound like this:Turntable > Pre amp > Sonos Port > Amplifier > Bluetooth headphoneTo do this I needed to set the Port’s Line-Out Level to ‘Fixed’ in the Sonos app. This functionality is not in the new app anymore as far as I can see!Is there still a way to do make this happen in my current setup?  thanks,J

Ok. I was able to use the system using an app on iOS last week. Admittedly after a lot of swearing and trying Ethernet cables, eventually got it working over Wi-Fi.  however as of today I’m unable to connect via app. Just incredible. Really frustrating.  I keep getting the error that the app can’t find a sonos system on the network. It really is connected. I mean come on…..any ideas as to what a fix might be? are the devs deliberately trashing their products? I’d hardly recommend at this point. 

Hi all, my Android app updated to a new version yesterday and I’ve had a bit of an ordeal… System is Arc/Sub/2xOne SL.After updating I lost the ability to stream music to the speakers. In the new version of the app it showed my Arc as the only product in the system, but I couldn’t do anything with it. It knew the sub and rear speakers were there because there was an option to remove them from the system, but they weren’t visible and pressing to remove them just crashed the app every time with a single tap.I assumed it was something gone slightly wrong during the app update, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. This was a mistake.Now I’m stuck on the app welcome screen, unable to even get into any settings or details because I apparently have no existing system, and there are no speakers or components available. Power cycling does nothing, pressing join button does nothing.I’m stuck on the welcome screen watching a guy make a matcha latte over and over like a fever dream. I'm in the UK, but am unable to add the BBC Sounds service to my Era 100. I’ve tried installing/reinstalling, etc. The address in my account is listed the UK. (It was originally listed in the US.)

I see a lot of posts from people blindsided, like I was, by the new app. I call it the “Ace” app among other things.  I have been living with this downgraded app for several days now and thought it would be good to share mitigations / solutions that will allow for a somewhat normal experience until (if / when) the app is ever fixed.First if you are lucky and didn’t update your controller app, don’t. And block updates.  Although you may need to update at least one device with the “Ace” app for some features - see below.Controller Solutions:The good news is the Desktop Controller for PC and likely Mac still work pretty much as they always have. For now. Small blessings. Since the new Sonos app has updated, aside from the fact it’s really poor to respond & play music from my various devices, more importantly it can no longer find my networked music server ????all my music 30k plus tunes are stored on a WD “ my cloud “ music server, it’s connected with an ethernet cable to my router & is visible on my network from my laptop. However I cannot find it from my mobile app or on my pc app ……HELP 

Seeing as we have to wait u til sometime next month to change WiFi settings which I needed to do, I’ve reset my speakers to setup the WiFi. the trouble is, setup fails once it gets to the password part and tells me to use Ethernet which I can’t.  anybody found a workaround or do I have a dead system until Sonos fixes that?

I just upgraded all of my old Sonos gear and now have 6 brand-new Port units and one brand-new Move 2 unit.  Now that Sonos has delivered an absolutely horrible app that ruins the user/customer experience, I’m getting rid of everything.  It’s all unusable.  Shame on you, Sonos.😡

I updated the app and my system is now not recognizable and my speakers cannot be added… how can this be possible.  Seems like we all are having the same problem and no fixes???

I have a modest Sonos system - 4 x Play-1’s.In April, they were awesome. My office, a paired set on the main floor and a single in the bedroom. Connected to plex, spotify, no problems whatsoever.  Today - I have all 4 lined up beside me on the desk after literally hours of factory resets, wired vs. wireless connected attempts to set them up over and over. Same wireless hub, same router, same everything. The only difference is the new app, and whatever firmware updates were pushed to my speaker set. I’m quite angry: this is my only speakers for playing music in my house.  Wireless, the app connects to them on their private network, then plays the tones for connecting…. then advises me that while they’ve been added, no playback will be possible before they are attached to the network and set up. FFS. Wired, ethernet connections get a little further: goes thru the entire setup, gets me actually into the app. Try to set up Spotify - gets to authorize (and spotify indeed authorizes it) then

Apple Music is intermittent. Music cuts in and out only on Apple Music.  Pandora works fine and it never cuts in and out. Been happening last month or so as far as I know

After updating my Sonos mobile app on a number of Apple products, the connection to my music library has failed. I attempted to reconnect to the music file on my MacMini Sonos “server” a number of times and got an error each time. 

Is there anyone out there with any legal knowledge?The new app has taken away my ability to play my music from my music library (error 913). I am also unable to add music to a playlist or edit the queue. so I am left with a glorified radio!As this makes my Sonos speakers no longer fit for purpose, can I claim compensation or a refund?Mal

Since Update on IOS on 80.00.02 the alarm clocks are totally broken. cant select, deselect, add or remove alarm clocks. please fix this asap

Hi there,I have a question regarding adv in the new app for iPad. I can’t close this thing in the middle of the screen.It looks like this“X” doesn’t work. It just open new window with more details.app version 80.01.11 but the same problem was in the previous version.Anyone with the same problem? Any solutions?

In 2016, SONOS blew my mind and I recommended it to everyone I know. While the speakers get better, the app just continues to get worse. This latest update is one of the worst experiences I’ve had with an app, and as someone that works with digital products, I have a strong spidey sense that the app was rushed to push out functionality for the headphones while not caring much about anything else.I’m not sure I can continue to give them my money. Not only is the latest app rough from a UI/UX aspect, the quiet removal or exclusion of legacy features has my system unstable at best. The removal of support for Boost, is possibly the final straw. Without it, my system is constantly disappearing, my products are hard to decipher (i.e., my arc is working, but also offline?)I can see on this forum that others are feeling the same. What do you plan to do? Are there alternatives? Is there a different way I can engage with the products and company? If I am home, music is playing. It’s frustrating

I make frequent use of large playlists in Spotify and Apple Music. Some have several hundred tracks, some have several thousand. Those services have no problem playing/shuffling these playlists within 2 seconds or less when using the native apps. But when trying to play any of them in Sonos, not only is there almost always a considerable delay playing even medium-sized playlists, but larger playlists pretty much never load and instead give an “Unable to add songs to the queue” error, requiring me to resort to Airplay and rendering the Sonos app completely useless.So my question is this - what is the actual limitation Sonos is running up against here? Is there a specific track count limitation, or is it a time limit? I see both answers posted with authority here and elsewhere, and really want to get to the bottom of it.FWIW, I have gigabit internet and my internal network is based around a well positioned Eero 3-unit Pro 6e system which provides a minimum 160mbps in even the most remote

Since having to reset the speakers in my system I am no longer able to add Amazon Music as a service to my system.  I’ve been using it for years in Guernsey without issue, no all of a sudden I can’t add it.  Not impressed Sonos & Amazon.  This needs to get fixed.

I can’t find “my library” in the new app. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

When I am playing music they skip , jump the reproduction , loss my speakers etc 

I listen to the Sonos system typically listening to my own music. - music that I own. That’s completely gone now and even though I’ve tried every suggestion here to fix it, nothing works. Thanks Sonos!The application (IOS) reverts to the first room listed in my (now worthless) system and even after de-selecting that room and selecting another room - IT GOES BACK to the previous selection. I just want to listen to a streaming service since my music is NO LONGER AVAILABLE, and I can’t even do that.I hope Sonos goes out of business after screwing your customer base as you have. ALL of your employees, in particular the CEO deserves to be out on the street looking for a new job.
