Controllers and Music services

Starting this morning (7/17) the Sonos Android app is just repeatedly crashing. It’s been generally terrible and barely usable since the redesign, but now it’s literally useless. Just immediately crashes. No updates were installed to the app or phones, and nothing else has changed in my system. I’ve tried force stopping, clearing cache, clearing all storage, and completely uninstalling & reinstalling. The Windows desktop app still works, but both phones we have are seeing this issue. Anyone else seeing this and/or know a workaround? Sonos App v80.04.05-release+20240702.edb3233Android 14, Kernel 5.10.198 sec patch level July 1, 2024

Has anyone experienced this?My IOS S2 app can browse and select playlists that I created using the Sonos controller app. But it is unable to play the playlist. After selecting a playlist, the S2 app populates the queue for the device I want to play it on. I see this occur in the UI. BUT, when I try to play the playlist, or even a single song in the queue, the S2 app simply shows a spinning circle.All of my playlists were created with the S1 version of the controller (desktop and IOS versions). These playlists are called  “Sonos Playlists” in the desktop version of the controller. I don’t have this issue when using the desktop version of the S2 controller. I can browse, select and play any of the playlists that I created with the Sonos controller. Even more strange….. If I queue up a playlist with the desktop controller, I can then control (pause, start) play of the playlist from the IOS S2 app. I can also use the S2 app to select and play in

I have 2 systems in 2 different houses and both have stopped working. When I open the app and try to play a song from my playlist nothing happens. At one house it says I have to reinstall the system.  should I delete the app and reinstall?  Please advise.  thanks

I have to insert an 8 digit code to override the airplay error from my iPhone.  I have found multiple different subjects like serial number, Pin, model.  None of them are 8 digits. Some are longer and some are shorter.  I assume there is a trick to complete this task.  I have no idea as to which one of the subjects I need to use and how do I arrange 8 digits?  For instance, my PIN number is 7 digits with dashes in between some of the numbers.  There has got to be a reasonable answer.  It took me 3 hours to find all these numbers.  I hope one of them is usable with some modifications?

AS ABOVE. PLUS. The recent update wiped everything on my ‘phone playlists. Clunky use on my beam and tv. Kept dropping out/stopping music played.

I pay for three music subscriptions. Spotify. Classical Archives, and Idagio, While Spotify is working fine, I cannot access playlists or other features of Classical Archives or Idagio using the new app. Since I pay for these, I need to have access like I did in the old app soon. I have reauthorized both subscriptions probably a dozen or so times. Is there something else I should do? 

I can no longer acess my local music folder on Apple Music. I get the following error message when I try to add ‘My Music Folder’“Sonos was unable to add the music folderUnable to add the shared folder "I/mini-M2-Pro/Music" to your Music Library (913).”I am using a Mac mini M2 Pro with OS Sonoma 14.5/ Sonos controller for Mac version 16.2I have tried to unistall and re install the Sonos App but nothing chages. When will this be fixed basically my Sonos is now just a speaker for my TV.

Ever since we updated the sonos app, we haven’t been able to find any music from our library. It seems like for some people it came back eventually, but ours hasn’t been there fore 3 weeks now.  We use Sonos because we enjoy all the music we have in iTune, and we don’t use any streaming services. Now that this function doesn’t work, we have 4 sonos speakers that are totally useless.  When can we get our Music library back to the Sonos??????

Since the last update, it takes 5 seconds or longer for the music to stop when I turn it off -- even after I close the app completely. I’ve had to run outside my house to answer a phone call because I couldn’t get the music to turn off. The delay happens whether I have all the speakers on or just one.  

I’ve just added a travel router to my apartment and would like to change the network used by my Sonos system, but I can only find out how to remove a network, not add one in the new app.

Do anyone here know what to do when the new sonos app is downloadet to my partners iphone8 but we cant get past the terms for use because the button to accept the terms doesn’t get active? On my iphone13 it works fine.

I sat on the Sonos chat line until I was offered a solution to this problem. Here’s the solution: 1. Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android. 2. Navigate to Account > Content Services > Connected Services. 3. Select the service you wish to remove (Apple Music) 4. Select Remove Service. 5. Follow the on-screen prompts to remove the service from the Sonos system. E After that, from the same Account tab select Content Services > Connected Services > Add Content Service > Choose the service to be added, and select Add to Sonos. This solved the problem for me. 

Hi there,Absolute thrash with the new Sonos app. I have got this perennial issue with my entire speakers not showing up on the Sonos app. I cannot control any of the speakers using the app. Can someone please advise a fix/suggestion on how to get out of this issue. It is so hard to the digest the fact that we all have spent some good amount of money and enjoy the system and now that this new software update has completely ruined it.Thanks

 In my local library I have 125 Shostakovich albums.  When I searched the results showed only 3.  I think the search is for album not artist.  Screenshot makes this clear. 

There is an issue with the new sonos app (black emblem) on android device recognizing music selected to play, nothing happens. A fix to this was using the old (gold emblem) v2 application on desktop to select and play music. After doing this, the app (black emblem) on android device then recognized songs selected to play and functionality is back to normal. Not sure if this is a home network issue or the mobile application being a bug fest which it is, no where as near smooth as the previous (gold emblem) v2.

Hello, I still haven't updated my apps with the latest update (!?...) from SONOS, an app that still seems to cause huge quality and reliability problems for users.I AM A CAREFUL MAN IN MY ACTIONS AND COMMENTS.This morning, on my 2023 iPhone, the SONOS app is forcing me to apply this update!…The application is blocked!…Is it really elegant and commercial on the part of SONOS to impose its "work"?...I HOPE THE MODERATORS WILL NOT DELETE THIS POST, HAVING INVESTED HEAVILY IN A SONOS SYSTEM CONTAINING MORE THAN 7 SPEAKERS!...I wish you a good day.

Sonos speakers all visible. TV feed to playbar, surrounds and sub all working. Streaming off mobile device working.BUT all my audio music services have disappeared in the app. Have checked on 3 devices...all android, all running S1.Have signed out and signed back in...no change.Fibre internet connection is fine running at 520Mbps.Thoughts?

The main reason I own a Sonos system is to listen to US and Ireland radio stations, for music (bluegrass, folk etc) and current affairs (RTÉ). Suddenly a few days ago ALL of these have stopped playing, either via TuneIn or MyTuner. (They have never been available on Sonos Radio). I spent almost two hours with the online live help two days ago and she was unable to solve it, and seemed to be totally unaware of the issue previously. She suggested i would have to phone the helpline (which I avoided because of the 45 min wait) to see if it was a problem with my (relatively new) router. I looked through here and tried adding the station’s url to the TuneIn app but that didn’t work. I also deleted both apps and reinstalled - no joy.Grant it, I’m using the old/original Play:1 and Play:5 models, but I don’;t think this is the issue?Will I need to finally DITCH the whole system??If so, what is the best alternative?FUMING!

Has anyone succesfully connected to a Linkstation music library after the update? I have switched the NAS to SMB2turned off SMB1 on my PCAll other apps work with the NASand spent over an hour with SONOS Level 1 support. , I have a Level 2 appointment on 7/2. still get the message “Share is no longer available” when adding the path

I have been dealing with this since you FORCED this joke of an app update on us. NO INTELLIGENT support has been offered or available to date. I have followed all the recommended troubleshooting docs on this site and nothing has helped. My system worked flawlessly before you broke it with the new app. Now my speakers are seen in the spotify app but not in the Sonos app. READ THAT AGAIN! Spotify app sees them but the Sonos app does not. That should be a HUGE CLUE!!! I want a refund on all of my devices. YOU BROKE THIS NOT ME. My network is not the issue. It worked fine until you forced the update and now you expect me to change it to accommodate your poorly written code. Hire someone that knows how to run a company properly. FIX THIS NOW or come get this junk and give me my money back!

I was unable to play music using Soundcloud after the recent update, so I removed and tried to add back sound cloud but now I am getting the message unable to connect.If I try Spotify it gets stuck on ‘connecting’ but doesn’t play any music.Speaker: SONOS OneIOS: 17.5.1Does anyone have any suggestions?

I recently played an album from my WD NAS music library but now it always plays no matter what other album I select - on top of this issue, when I open the Albums selection some now appear 2 or 2 times whilst many list all the songs instead of the album name.In effect I have lost all function for my music library - I was very annoyed when the images of the albums dissappeared  - But this is a new level.Ringing the Sonos helpline was no good “Our technical support team is currently offline” answer is not helpfullJocular

How do you edit, remove, add, reorder a speaker queue list? It’s not easily found and if not available now it’s a great step forward for the app but 10 steps back for leaving this option out and I will be reverting to previous S2 app!!
