Unable to complete true play with my device, telling me it’s not supported
I just got an iPhone 13 and TruePlay is not supported.I also bought an iPad Air 4 and nearly a year later, the feature hasn’t been added yet. But Sonos sure is happy to tell me to buy all its new products instead. How long until this feature is added? Anyone taking bets? How many dollar bills do I have to cram into the HDMI port?
Is there an equivalent to Sonosequencr for Android? I had it on my old work iPhone, but no longer work there and my personal device is an Android. My wife has an ancient work iPhone so I can at least still use Trueplay, but she doesn’t want to install paid for apps. Is there an Android equivalent that’ll allow me to stereo (or surround) pair dissimilar speakers? Currently I’ve got my Playbar, Play:1 and Symfonysk set up as my surround system I think, but I can’t remember, and I may want to tweak that at some point in the future. EDIT: wasn’t clear enough I don’t think - it’s to allow me to stereo pair (a Symfonysk and Play:1 in my case) or configure dissimilar speakers as surround (so adding these 2 as rear surrounds to my Playbar) - not just simply playing across multiple different speakers.
My 2,300-CD music collection is on a network-attached storage (NAS) drive labeled E:\Music Library. It is a 1-Terabyte external Hard Drive (HD) dedicated solely to music files. I designated that Path in the Sonos Music Library Settings. By and large, I can play what I want to hear and create Playlists. But: Q1: on the NAS HD, Windows Explorer shows “Van Morrison” for the file folder with that artist’s CDs. But, when I see that artist’s listings in Sonos, it shows “van morrison” rather than Van Morrison. What the? Where can I edit the Sonos file directory to fix this silly discrepancy? Q2: using Windows Explorer, I moved the CD “Easy Pieces” FROM the “Lloyd Cole” directory TO the “Lloyd Cole & The Commotions” directory. However, Sonos insists on still showing that CD as a Lloyd Cole release. What the? I DID do “Update Music Library Now” in Sonos with no resulting impact. Do I need to change a Sharing Setting for my File Management fixes to be seen by Sonos? Is there a “
Hi - on my Sonos page on the app currently my music service is Spotify. I’m changing to Apple is there a way to change the default? I can’t seem to find an option within the App. Probably missing something basic! thanks
I have had no problem with Sonos until I updated my mac to Big Sur. I like to play the music continuously and adjust it at the speakers----lower, higher, no sound. Now Sonos drops for no reason, then I have to go to my computer and restart. I usually play Pandora. Any help out there?
This problem seems to have started after my Windows 11 intstallation. When the controller is opened on my pc at first everything is displayed as normal but once my mouse cursor starts moving over different tabs (like Select a Music Source/Sonos Favorites or Select a Music Source/Sonos Radio or the FILE, EDIT, MANAGE, HELP tabs...acually everything displayed on the Sonos Controller!) they disappear. They then reappear when my cursor moves over them but then after a bit completely disappear and I have to restart the program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and also ran as Administrator to no avail. Any help on remedying this annoying problem?
With the S2 rollout earlier this year, the Playbar was listed as a compatible product that supported Qobuz 24-bit playback. With the latest update, Amazon Music Ultra HD (24-bit) playback is not supported on the Playbar. Can anyone (maybe a Sonos rep) please confirm that the Playbar still supports Qobuz 24-bit playback?Much appreciated!
Upgraded to a couple of 5s for music playing and have apple music streaming. If I play through the Apple Music app it reads e.g., ‘Lossless’ under the track. If I play Apple Music directly from the S2 app, I cannot see what audio quality is playing anywhere. I’m sure it used to be available. Cheers
It seems so basic and obvious that a timer needed to be added to Night Mode. Baffled how this was overlooked. Frustrating that it’s not there. Please add it. It’s been YEARS now. Wtf.
Hi all , been using the Sonos S2 app for a couple off weeks now , not sure if there's a suggestion thread but perhaps the app UI could be made to look a big nicer / classy ?? Tbh it looks boring and compared to the Yamaha I've come from the Yamaha one looks way better , the colour theme for the room runs through the app , Yamaha one seems to be easier to navigate too Sonos app is just white or grey , needs to be made to look nicer to match the quality of their speakers etc , I've attached pictures so you can see .Top is Sonos , middle and bottom Yamaha .
Why does Sonos have such horrendously incompetent developers? That must be the case considering the constant plethora of issues I experience with multiple devices. There are too many to even mention. Does Sonos not make enough money that they can afford competent developers? Sonos must be the most unreliable and unstable app on my devices. Constantly losing connection to Spotify, constantly requiring login, constantly disconnecting, constantly losing the connected devices, constantly etc etc etc. Such a great product with such terrible coding. It's a shame but I won't be replacing them with more Sonos. I'll be finding something else for sure.
Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to turn off the 3min idle mode on a Sonos One? I’ve checked the app but cant seem to find a setting.Every time the device goes into Idle Spotify needs to be connected back to the speaker.https://support.sonos.com/s/article/256?language=en_USThanks
Haven’t used the Sonos app that much in the past but recently started to (macOS on a MacBook Pro with two external monitors (one vertical and one ultra wide) and iOS on iPad Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max).First, would be great if the app would adhere to current system dark/light mode (as the major of other apps do today). I.e. just switch depending on time of day (when the rest of the system switches to or from dark mode)Second, maybe Sonos should put som UI/UX people on the overall interface? Everything is in like 8-10pt font size… really? Looks like something from 2008. Just in general the UI needs an overhaul to be on par with todays design standards. Why do I have to have three columns in the desktop version? How about two columns, one, 1/3, with current and available speakers, in queue etc. Column two, 2/3, with entire list and maybe large album covers on top and big accessible controls. What’s with all this “tiny tiny”… Of course this is the DTP version, where there is a lot of unuse
Hello !Until recently, I could stream from any source on my iMac (Music app, Safari…) to my Sonos SL.I found it disappointing I couldn’t use the mac speakers at the same time (like it worked on Music app), but it worked. It’s been a few days I can’t connect from the Mac via the Audio menu, nor via preferences, so it doesn’t work with Safari. It works with Music app, though : so the mac can connect to the speaker (but now it disables the computer’s speakers…)Is there an easy way to fix this ?-I hard-rebooted the speaker-I restarted the computer-I connected via the Sonos app (but it only shows music services, not browsers) Thanks for any help !
HiAll of my Itunes playlists have stopped being available on Sonos - it just says ‘no selections are available’. I’ve not actually wanted to listen to a playlist for a while but they used to play with no problems. I’ve not changed any settings on either Sonos or Itunes, there have literally been no changes to either so does anyone have any idea how I can get them on Sonos again. I’ve removed my library and readded it, I’ve updated my library countless times but they just won’t show up?Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello all. I recently upgraded my Playbase for the Arc.I also subscribed to Amazon Music unlimited and was looking forward to hearing HD and Atmos music on my system (Arc +Sub + 2 Play 1s). Using Sonos2 app I am informed that the song on Amazon I am streaming is Atmos. However when I look at About my System/Sonos System Info during play that there is not an Audio in showing on the Arc.My question is if the app shows Amazon Atmos is playing should the Arc also show that Atmos is being recieved and playing? When my TV passes through Atmos the Arc tells me that is what it is playing (Atmos,5.1.2.1 etc) so I am confident that all is ok.The Arc does not tell me what it is playing from Amazon music,Should it say in About my System “Audio in : Dolby Atmos” (or something similar) or is my configuration not set up correctly for Amazon Music Atmos and HDThanks
As a user I want to view the current tracks bitrate and codec in real-time so that I can fully understand the different quality my Sonos system is playing.
HiAfter the recent update I have tried to play Atmos music on my Arc. Searching for ‘Dolby Atmos’ on Amazon music via the sonos app on my iphone I get no results. If I do the same on the Amazon Music app I get a playlist ‘Best of Dolby Atmos’. Even if i specifically search via the Sonos app for a playlist ‘Best of Dolby Atmos’ i get no results. Can anyone help please?
This BUG is still present, more than a year after being reported on this forum for the first time.Issue, cause and workaround have been documented in: The problem and workaround were acknowledge by a Sonos rep more than 6 months ago. But the problem persists.Would it be possible for Sonos to actually fix the bug in the next update?
Hi.I’m blind and using screen reader talkback on my android phone. Earlier Sonos has worked perfect with talkback and I have used it for many years now. Since version 13.4 Talkback no longer reads my sonos tab. When I activate my sonos tab and try to move between the controls I get “can’t connect to sonos” message. No matter what i Do. If I switch to library, system or search it works perfect and I can listen to music, radio and podcast without any problem. If I turn off talkback and let a sighted person use my sonos tab it works perfect. But with talkback on it only says can’t connect to sonos on that tab. I tried another little older android phone and the same appears on that one too after updating Sonos app to 13.4 and 13.4.1.I hope that can be fixed soon.Best regards Tony
I have a Sonos arc connected to a LG c1 TV . All good. I'm trying to play Amazon Atmos music on my Sonos arc from the amazon music app. When I use the app and cast Atmos tagged music it reverts back to hd . It's only when using Amazon music through the Sonos app that it appears to be playing Atmos music , but the Sonos app is poor compared to Amazon music as it doesn't tag Atmos music very well. Why doesn't it play atmos music on the arc through the Amazon app (when in its marked to do so ) I'm using android . What am I doing wrong
I’ve read so many threads asking for Jukebox mode so people can add to the queue but not have their song immediately play.Surely there could be a setting to toggle on or off the “play now” option in the app which would mean you could pass your controller around and people can add without the song instantly starting? Are there currently any plans to create a jukebox style mode - it would be good to know the official stance rather than looking at so many threads where the answer from Sonos is “we’ll think about it” and then nothing happens.Has anyone made an easy work around for this for their system so friends can add tracks to the queue?
I have an Arc with surrounds (play:1) in my Living Room, and a One in my open plan kitchen, grouped so I can I play TV sound in the kitchen when cooking etc. and want to mute the kitchen speaker at other times. I have a Harmony Elite remote, and my tv activities include the Living Room (arc+surrounds) and Kitchen speakers. I assign a button on the remote to ‘Mute’ the Kitchen speaker. But it Mutes the arc instead?I have deleted and recreated the activity several times. Then I realised that even in the Sonos app, the muting is not working as it should. It seems it only works If I use a Play:1 in the kitchen, but I’d like Alexa here. Any ideas?
I have always used the desktop app at home and my Music Library has always been linked to a single "Music" folder on an external hard drive. That music folder then has several artist sub-folders and each artist sub-folder then has their own album sub-folders which house the individual song files. I have used the desktop app in this way for years with virtually no problems-until this morning. Now only a couple albums in each artist folder are showing up and some artist folders aren't showing up at all. I've tried various things. Unlinking the "Music" folder entirely then re-linking it. Re-starting the computer. Disconnecting the hard drive then reconnecting it. Checking the app for updates. Nothing works to link the single "Music" folder correctly like in the past. Now, if I link a single artist folder all the albums show up correctly (mostly, more on that later). This works for artists who only had a couple albums show up, or artists who were no longer showing up at all. I could li
