Controllers and Music services

I have the following equipment, on three different floors of my house:Room A: 2 Fives (stereo pair)Room B: 1 OneRoom C: 1 Play:5 (gen 1)Rooms A and B are controlled by S2 (iPhone)Room C is controlled by S1 (iPhone)Everything has been working perfectly, exactly as expected, for quite some time. Last evening, though, though, I experienced a particularly annoying issue --Room A was active -- streaming from TuneIn Radio. Rooms B and C were inactive. The S2 controller suddenly popped up a message that an additional Sonos system had been found and was incompatible with S2, and it asked how I wanted to proceed.That is, the old Play:5 had been discovered by S2. I had the choice of adding the Play:5 (which of course would not be allowed) or taking additional action. ‘Taking additional action’, as far as I could tell, involved resetting the S2 system, which of course I also didn’t want to do.I was stuck in an infinite loop. Just over 2 weeks ago, my Sonos controllers have all stopped working correctly.They all say “No music selected” and the play/pause buttons are greyed out.  The queue sometimes is empty, sometimes shows an old playlist.  I actually found today that one of the controllers was telling me that it was playing something I was listening to a few days ago via Spotify Connect (but not any more). This is a problem on Android, iPhone and Mac.Also, the volume controls are weird - on the Mac, some of them are unusable, on the Android they are all positioned at 0.  (But on Android they still work when I change the volume.))I can play new music fine, but just not pause it once it starts!  Voice control from both Alexa and Google works normally and is the only way I can really control the playback.  Occasionally, after replacing the queue I can select something from the queue to skip to, but not always. Some other things work OK, like displaying and

Hello, it is quite appalling that you have no released even a public TestFlight of the Sonos app, for Trueplay, let alone addressed the reality it is tied to iOS/ipadOS version, more so than hardware. I am sorry that I kept up with my security updates and that your dev team cannot, despite access to dev releases etc. it’s not exactly as if you did not know version 15 was coming, let alone the iterations. I suppose the Google lawsuit captured that dev time. I am disgusted at your company and when your support tells me to use an android device, just is an absolute joke. Also, we cannot roll back formally as iOS/ipados14 is unsigned now by Apple. I have tried many of my devices and, all on the list, just pfffyttytt..,..  Thanks for actually trying in dev team. Please elaborate on a firm date for full functionality in this bait and switch. I mean come on it’s inexcusable what you’ve done and more so looking back to see it months and ago, then now again. How can I listen to old recent radio shows on Sonos. I can access them on my phone from the radio station web or app but I am unable to transfer to my Sonos sound system. 

This is really frustrating for the investment.  Sonos needs to cease with these popup ads in the controller immediately!

The Apple Music App doesn't allow you to to play shuffle for all the songs/albums when you're in Sonos, like it does when you're not in Sonos.  Is there a plan to change this?  It's such a great feature and would really like to see Sonos incorporate that feature. 

Is there a way to add a song from a currently playing station to a Sonos playlist that doesn’t stop the station from playing?

Hi, I've recently upgraded to the Sonos Beam gen 2, mostly for the Dolby Atmos, I'm thinking of upgrading my Amazon Music Unlimited to Ultra HD for the improved bit rate, will Sonos support the Dolby Atmos tracks available within this upgrade?

Hi, I have got Play1 and I am thinking about switching from Spotify to Apple Music, which means I would need to upgrade to a speaker, which supports Apple Music. My question is can I use the old speaker in a pair (with the one supporting Apple Music) or do both speakers need to support same streaming services in order to work in stereo? Hope I am making sense :) Thanks for the tips in advance.

RESOLVED - See first replyMy stereo pair of Sonos One has been working fairly well with the music library on my Synology DS218+ for years.Suddenly, a couple of days ago, when I tried to play a song, the Sonos app said “Access to the shared folder is denied - check the username and/or password.” See screen shot below.Troubleshooting steps taken:Re-enter login credentials Verify that smb1 is enabled on the NAS (it was, or it wouldn’t have worked previously) - see screen shot below Remove the NAS from the Sonos app and start over Re-start Sonos Re-start NAS Use IP address number instead of alphanumeric name for the NAS (even though the latter worked previously) Create new user account on NAS Try logging in via Sonos app on another device: iPad Pro running iOS 14, 2012 MacBook Pro running latest Catalina, and 2017 iMac running latest Big Sur.I’m still able to access the musi

I saw the announcement recently of the new Dark Mode being available on the S2 App.But it’s not visible for me…I am using the Android S2 App, v13.3.2. I go into Settings > App Preferences. There’s no option called ‘Appearance’.I did a Logout/Login on the app, but that didn’t change anything.What’s going on? Is the Dark Mode only for Apple OS?

While on a Samsung Galaxy S9 with Android 10 I was able to at least resize the Sonos widget to 4x1 this no longer works on a Pixel 6 with Android 12. So I am left with a widget that takes almost half the screen for no reason. Please provide additional widget sizes or at least allow resizing.

My brother has an old Magnavox Grand Classic. I’m curious if there is a clever way to integrate this into the Sonos ecosystem. All I can come up with is tearing everything out of the inside and replacing with a One or maybe a Symfonisk. Is there a better way to integrate with more of the existing hardware?

Just starting this up again and hoping for an official reply…. im not sure what you’re paying your dev’s but from experience adding Dark Mode to an IOS app is frankly nearly as easy as typing this request… multiple threads and requests…AND ITS STILL NOT DONE. Sonos. Srsly sort this out. If not an actual reason why you’d not do it?  cue “customer is always right” etc etc…

I had to make a Beta app update today, and while majority of my system still works ok, the Connect:Amp is not.  I am not able to play anything from the amp now after today’s update (10/27/21).  Does anyone know how to either find this issue or remove the beta app so I can go back to the S2 app instead? 

Hi,The latest update brought some significant UI bugs. When I move mouse over UI controls they disappear (see attached screenshot). It works for all controls including menu and text boxes. Items may reappear if I move mouse very slow. But it’s unpredictable. I tried to reinstall the app with no success. I must mention that I’ve been using the Windows app for quite some time and it was always working fine. I use the latest (fully updated) Windows 10. Please help.Thanks,Dmitry 

The songs master quality from TIDAL aplication downgraded when connected to Sonos speakers. The same efect appear if I connected to Sonos one speaker or to Sonos ARC + SUB + 2 Sonos one.The quality is downgraded from Master to HIFI.A year ago, I've read at the comunity forum that it going to be fix at S2, but it not heappend yet.When sonos will support TIDAL's master quality?

I am new to this so please bear with me.I have a Western Digital MyCloud EX2 Ultra hosting a Twonky Server (Version 8.5.2-5) to provide access to Pictures, Video and Music. All works fine except the Music will not play on my Sonos Play1 via the Sonos app (Version: 13.3 OS:S2) loaded on my (Android) mobile devices.The Sonos app sees the Music (Folders, Albums, Tracks) but says “an error occurred while adding tracks to the Queue (701).On the Twonky Server, the Sonos support option is OFF. This is because the text warns that the option prevents Windows Media Player running on the same machine, from sharing media. I did once set it on, but the required server restart failed (I am using a Windows 10 laptop to configure the Twonnky Server). I have also read that “The Sonos feature included in Twonky is not functionally supported. WD support Sonos using SMB”.I do not really understand what that means but have also read “I’ve activated (SMB1, SMB2, SMB3) and (NTM

I have 3 Sonos amps that are dedicated to 3 separate rooms.  As of now, my speakers are hardwired to the amps.  I can’t figure out how to play different musical tracks via Spotify Premium in separate rooms.  I can play a track in one room or a group of rooms, but not two different tracks in two different rooms.  This should be easy.

How can i listen to my own recordings saved on Google drive in my sonos?

Hello   I recently noticed that music quality when listening thru spotify connect is better than airplay. I normally prefer to use original streaming app than Sonos S2 for listening.  Anybody else also noticed the difference when listening thru spotify connect vs airply?

I have some local  .Mp3 music and am unable to save a que as a Playlist.  I find the Playlist process awkward. I simply wish to create Playlists from my locally stored music within Sonos that persist. I found several pre-made lists I would like to remove. 

Hi,Sonos has discontinued support for Windows 7. I have my Sonos library on a Windows 7 PC. I am concerned that if I update the iOS app, it will no longer work with my PC/library.Do we know that updated iOS apps will retain compatibility with my “Sonos Controller for PC” v13.2?I would prefer not to update this PC as it does everything I need it to. We all know that Windows updates can cause problems. Thank you,Morty
