Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

When I search for an artist, Amazon music easily shows “Top Songs”. Whereas Apple Music just has every single album the artist has ever made and I have no option to listen to the top songs. This is a huge nuisance, who is going to flip through nine different albums to find one or two songs per album. Half the time I don’t even know what album the song is from. This lack of feature prevents me from successfully using the Sonos app to listen to Apple Music (most of the time)
Just got my new Play 5 G2. Successfully added it via my android phone S2 app. However, when I installed the new S2 on my windows desktop, the 5 isn’t present. Have tried reinstalling the desktop app but that didn’t help. Any idea on what to do next?
After listening to the new SONOS Radio HD for a while, I really enjoy and appreciate the High Quality fidelity! I really does sound like the best HQ compared to other music services. I am on the 1 month trial but I’ll pretty sure I’m going to become a subscriber. I do wish they’d offer a RENEW YEARLY subscription.Since I listen to a lot of Classical music , my recommendation would be that another Classical station would be curated that would present COMPLETE ENTIRE SYMPHONIES/ CONCERTOS, ETC. Right now there are only classical stations that present only single movements but not the COMPLETE piece.please consider this type of station. Thank you for the HQ and functionality of SONOS RADIO HQ! Ron
13.4 update includes:Sonos home theater products now support decoding DTS Digital Surround. A new Battery Saver mode is available for portable Sonos products. EQ settings are now accessible by pressing the icon on the Now Playing screen in the Sonos app for iOS. An HD badge now shows on the Now Playing screen while Sonos is playing higher quality audio. For anyone who thinks Sonos isn’t reading these forums or listening to their customers, this update is proof that they most definitely are listening. Thanks, Sonos!
Hi,With growing systems containing different types of components there would be great value in being able to combine these components in different ways depending on use and without having to manually reconfigure the system.Specifically, what I would like to request a feature that allows pre-defined configurations (groups) at the level of individual components. Here is an illustrative example:Group A: Arc + Subwoofer + Amp A (for rear speakers)Group B: Amp B + SubwooferGroup C: Amp A + SubwooferThe above reflects an actual setup I have in our home. The different combinations would optimize the use of my Sonos equipment e.g., for watching TV (Group A), listening to music in the living room (Group B) or listening to music in the kitchen (Group C).I have seen numerous similar requests in the forums. What are the chances of getting this implemented?Kind regards,Peter
A programme broadcast on Radio 6 this morning for example would be accessible a matter of hours later vis Radioplayer or MyTuner. I have attempted this today but no BBC programmes from today appear to be available. This is the case if I look further back on programmes which would otherwise have been available. Has something altered with the licencing does anyone know ? I know the issues with Tunein but thought the other services had escaped for the moment.
Need an Annual plan like every other music service. No ads to subscribe, already subscribed; also like every other music service.
Spotify has added a lyrics feature where you swipe up on the song playing and the lyrics appear highlighting the lines being sung.Sonos has recently added a numeric indication to the sliding volume scale, when operating from an iPhone a haptic is also added that you feel when the volume is being adjusted. It’s interesting that the lyrics feature only appears when your streaming directly from the Spotify app. When streaming Spotify via the Sonos app, the lyrics feature doesn’t appear. I usually always stream from the Sonos app so that’s a bit of a bummer. The volume control feature and haptic only appear when streaming from the Sonos app. I’ve always streamed Spotify from the Sonos app because most of the time I’m doing multi-room and use radio apps so out of habit stick with that. Is there any possibility the lyrics feature will ever be available when streaming Spotify from the Sonos app?
I have two CR100s with cradle & wall mount I put in my store prior to the OS update that was going to brick them. I am not searching back to find out the OS# but y’all know… They were working fine. At least one if not both had new batteries. They are physically good - one with a tiny mark when it was dropped. Is anyone still using them and could use two more? I’m not selling but would offer them for collection (preferred) or postage only to anyone that would use them in their system. UK postcode area G61 (Glasgow) though I’ll also probably be travelling down the M6 to Warwick & Bicester start of December. TBH I’ve no idea what is going on in Sonos land any more. Lost interest after this episode. Only really use 2/6 zones and majority of time for radio and S1 OS. Hey ho. The bundle The slight nick on corner of one controller
two months since Apple’s iPhone 13 release and Trueplay is still not available to these devices. We all know techinical difficulty is not that hard, so the question is - are Sonos and Apple’s relationship that bad now?
Sonos Connect S2 devices (and I assume Port) seem to be down sampling all HD data to 44.1khz (e.g. 24/48 khz local FLACs) through the digital out (e.g. Coaxial) to external DACs. i.e. you cant get a HD digital signal out of your Sonos kit !!I cant see the bit-depth on my DAC, so unsure if this is also being downgraded to 16 bit (but assume 16/44.1).I assume this is the same for streamed services also (e.g. Qobuz, Amazon HD etc.) being digitally downgraded to 16 / 44.1.Whats the point??!!! This would be surprising in 2015 . . . . . but 2021 !!! I have had cheap Android STB for the last 10 years that digitally passthrough (up to 24/192, DSD files etc.). Even services like HEOS etc. will send an untouched digital bit signal to the Receiver / DAC. Can this option please be added (I understand coax, optical are bandwidth limited - but even 24/192 Stereo should be OK). i.e. digital pass-through, or sampling at the original source rate at least! Include it as an option please!
I have older Sonos speakers that aren’t compatible with the updated controller. I’ve figured out how to have the app on my phone stop asking me to update. But every time I open the controller on my laptop, I’m asked if I want to update the app/controller and I have to say “Not Now.” But I’d love to say, “Stop asking me about this because you’ve gone on and left me here with your old tech and when these speakers die, maybe I’ll buy new ones that are compatible with your update. But until then, my hands are tied. And you won’t shut up about it. And it’s making me hate you.” So… little help?
Since upgrading my iPhone to iOS 15 I am no longer able to control my Sonos S2 volume controls using the physical volume button on the phone. I have turned the option off and back on again in App Preferences with no success. Is this perhaps a known issue? Thanks.
Microsoft upgraded me to Windows 11 with asking, and then Sonos keeps on telling me to check for updates -- I do this, it finds one, downloads and installs. Then asks me to check again, and downloads and installs…. and so on, and on. I cannot get to the music library on the PC; one the phone it no longer finds the music library, and the process of trying to connect via the phone is impossibly complicated with instructions written by someone who really doesn’t seem to like customers very much. Any ideas? I just want to listen to some music……..
Hi there, I know this question has already been asked, and I know how to get this info, normaly given on the “about my system” screen on the Sonos app.And I get the information when I use my beam with my TV (as input). But when I use it with the Sonos App or Airplay as input, there is no indication (field is blank).I also have a Roam, for wich the “audio output” field does not exist. So my guess is that this information is given only when using the Beam with input set to TV. Still, is there a way to get this information with the other input modes ?
I love the performance and function of my Sonos speakers, but I’m tired of the cult-like following required for me to use Apple devices so I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy s21. Now I’ve learned that Sonos and Google aren’t friends and that I have to choose between the phone I much prefer over the speakers I enjoy. It looks like Google lost the patent lawsuit and hopefully pays Sonos whatever you’re due, now can we please support casting so I don’t have to deal with mom & dad’s quarrel? I paid a premium for your speakers, and my phone, but I can’t send the audio from the apps I want to use to my speakers because why again? The app that I’m trying to use is White Noise by TMSOFT because it helps me sleep and there aren’t any good continuous alternatives on Sonos or Pandora Compatibility isn’t a lot to ask.Scott
Spotify on laptop amd phone wont connect to either of my 2 sonos speakers in my second sonos system. My phone spotify connects correctly on my first system at a different location. Any ideas how to resolve this ?
I added my computer as audio source per the instructions from Sonos and SWYH and Sonos app confirms its been added but I can’t find it anywhere in the app. Also where is Tunein in the app? I can’t find that anywhere either.
Hi, just a quick Q regarding release notes. My S1 system is at 11.2.12 and says that an update is waiting. However, checking the sonos.com site for S1 release notes brings up just one page with details for Sonos releases that stop at 11.2.6.Where can I find release notes for current software? Thanks in advance, Steve
Greetings, We have a Sonos system in our home. Does anyone have positive or negative experience or advice with using Apple Music vs Spotify over a Sonos system? For the most part, all of our devices are Apple products (computers, tablets, phones, etc.).Any tips or tricks on how to optimize it?
The search to remove the beam from my system isn't clear or I can't seem to find where I delete so I can add the Arc?
This has long annoyed me, and finally decided to research a bit. When using the Search function in the iOS app, there seems no logic to the order in which albums are listed. Searching here I can see there are loads of threads on this subject, most of them years old. I also see the suggestion that the music service determines the order, but surely Sonos can alter that at UI level (or allow the user to choose!)Is there now some way to do this that I'm overlooking? As it stands it's easier to use another app (Apple Music) to locate the album I want, then return to Sonos app to play it. That's a pretty poor user experience. If still an issue, any hope of getting it enhanced? Thanks!
There are dozens of posts in this forum related to this issue from as far back as 7 years ago. This should be a very simple addition to the software. I play music from my TV all the time and want to be able to use my Sonos Ones for Full Music Playback and not Ambient mode when playing music from the TV. Then when I want to watch an actual movie I want to quickly be able to switch back to surround mode. Please please listen to your customers!!
I can’t seem to find Virgin Anthems in radio, only Virgin Radio. I have tried copying and pasting Virgin Anthems URL into add radio station in Sonos but that does not work. Any suggestions please?
Hello, Is there any news about the much requested alarm fade in customization options? It woudl be great indeed to have the possibility to manage the Start Volume, End Volume and Ramp Up Time of the alarm function and i’v read multiple posts about that so i’m apparently not the only one to wait for that! Thanks
