Hi all,Anyone knows whether this can be achieved ?I would like that my Philips Hue lights dance with the music that I am playing through the Sonos app. This works fine when I’m playing music through the Spotify app. However it does not work when I’m playing music through the Sonos app (although Sonos and Spotify accounts are synchronized). Thanks,Thomas
I hate Autoplay. A few weeks ago I had a clean install on my computer (Macbook) and then installed Spotify and connected to my Sonos system to listen to some nice music. As it turns out after a while, Autoplay is enabled in Spotify by default. No worries, I disabled it in the Spotify settings. In the very rare occasions when I listen to music on my Macbook (not through Sonos) it respects my choice just as I expect. However, in the meantime Sonos seems to have remembered that Autoplay is ON and since then everytime I listen to anything through Sonos started in Spotify, Autoplay is enabled and it starts to play random music after my playlist or album has ended. (Did I mention I hate autoplay?!) It’s all the same if I play music through Spotify using my iPhone. I looked everywhere in the Sonos app both on my Macbook and on my iPhone, but can’t seem to find any switch for that. Damn! Where do I click?
Is it just my network or has the once seamless compatibility and UX interface between Sonos and the Spotify app recently collapsed?I’m really not sure if its the Sonos app or the Spotify app that is at fault (or both) but a few months ago, I noticed that the “now playing” screen on the Spotify app started to resemble the Sonos app’s “now playing” screen. And that change seems to be the start of the problem. Now it seems I can’t pause tracks, skip ahead (important for podcasts) or even change tracks whilst inside the Spotify app. If I do, the track playing on Sonos continues and instead another track begins to play from my phone speaker. It seems the only way to effect the music coming from Sonos system once I’ve linked via Spotify connect is to switch into the Sonos app. Its really quite frustrating. I want to be able to control my Sonos speakers from my Spotify app because the Sonos app doesn’t have the search functionality of Spotify. I like to explore and find new music, and you cann
Hi all - I have come home today and my Sonos S1 app will no longer connect to any devices or wifi. I am getting a screen like this: I have bee running and old bridge with older Play:1s and a Beam. I have tried fixing it in the S1 app, and have also tried disconnecting the Bridge and connecting the Beam directly to an ethernet cable whilst using the newer app. Neither of these seem to work. As far as I’m aware I’ve granted all the permissions I need too in iOS. No changes to my router which is a BT Smart Hub (an original one). I’ve tried the workaround of turning off the 5hz on this with no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any recent BT/iOS changes that may have happened. I have read through the older topic about the BT smart hubs and doesn’t seem applicable here? Thanks!!!
Hi All, I read Qobuz WQA is now supported on S2. Any news on when Tidal MQA/Master is due. I have just bought into the Sonos system from Bluesound but would love to get my Lossless back
Hi, I’m probably going to get murdered on the forum for this...(I did try to search, I really did), but I couldn’t find anything. So I have two Sonos Roams paired as a stereo set. I was wondering with the high end services like Tidal, Amazon Music HD and Apple Music (and I guess Sonos Radio HD), can the Roams push out the high end bit rates/sound quality? I may not be asking the question right..I hope it makes sense. Like I realize the Roams do not do Atmos (right)..so Spatial audio is out...but can they play lossless at that bit rate or is it downsized/compressed?I am a Sonos fan, and I replaced two Echo Studios to go with the Roams because I like the portability and the size of them. I realize I would be giving up Atmos or whatever Amazon calls it..but I was just curious.I recall seeing something way back that the Ones could not do more than “HD” level on Amazon and not the Ultra HD or 3D or whatever they called it..but I didn’t know if the Roams can do HD level ...or if any music ser
I know this has been posted before, but I don’t think an adequate solution has been offered. Like others, I don’t want anyone who is on my WiFi network to be granted access to my Sonos system by default simply by having the Sonos app. I realize guest networks are a thing, but this is not a solution for multiple systems on the same network. I would like my Sonos system to be accessible only by me, and if possible, users/accounts to whom I’ve given access. This would also be less of an issue if the Sonos app didn’t randomly forget which system on the network it is connected to, and try to connect to the wrong one. This has happened on a number of occasions. So this post is a combination feature request and bug report I suppose, but I’d take the feature request in a heartbeat. Thanks for reading.
My music was all on an external NAS drive which failed. Data recovery company restored the NAS content and I re-downloaded to new NAS and redirected my Sonos from MacBookPro and controller on iPad and iPhone. However now, if my Mac is ‘asleep’ neither controller will work. I get error message 1002 which seems irrelevant as I don’t have the device the error message refers to. Another error message is “Unable to play ‘track x’ - unable to connect to //Lois-[sirname]-MacBook-Pro/Music. I deleted the Controller app and reinstalled it. It played one album and when attempting to play a second album - the following long error message popped up: Unable to play ‘Album X’ - the file //Lois-[sirname}MacBook-Pro/Music/Music/Media.localised/Music/Jamiroquai/Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving/13 [Hidden Track].m4a cannot be foundWords fail me. Help!
I am using Navidrome & Bonob to self-host my music library for the Sonos from Synology. No SMB1 but you do need Docker.https://www.navidrome.orghttps://github.com/simojenki/bonobThe below instructions assume Docker is already installed and running on your Synology NAS. I am on DSM 7. Hopefully this helps some folks. I just tried to set a new alarm, but it says I have to delete one. Go back a step and it says no alarms set. They all disappeared. Help.
I keep on reading that according to Sonos very few users are still using their “Music Library” accessed by the archeic SMB version 1 protocol. I hate to break the news to the software engineers from Sonos - but the reason very few are still using it is purely because SMBv1 is extremely unsecure and was superseded by SMBv2 more than 15 years ago. Furthermore Sonos appearently only accepts the ridiculously unsecure authentication protocol NTLMv1 and the “newer” NTLMv2 that was introduced more than 23 years ago.So - the reason that very few users are riscing their network infrastructure is simply because they do not really have a choice - do they?On the other side - Sonos could implement SMBv2 and NTLMv2 support in their S2 line. One could even dream about full SMBv3 and Kerberos support …..However - I do not see that move from Sonos - because they claim we do not use NAS anymore.
I noticed over the weekend that when I stream from Roon to my Sonos system, 24-bit files are now streamed in their native resolution (up to 24/48). Previously, everything was downsampled to 16-bit. It seems that a Roon update from October enabled 24-bit streaming to Sonos. Anything higher than 24/48 is downsampled to either 24/48 or 24/44.1, but this means that a large portion of my library is able to be streamed natively without being resampled. I appreciate the Sonos and Roon teams for continuing to work on giving us this capability.
I know this has been requested before, but trying again :) I’ve only owned my Arc (+sub +surrounds) for a week, but I’ve already had a couple of times where the TV cannot see the Arc via HDMI-ARC so I get no sound. Having used other HDMI-ARC connected sound systems, this seems to just be a fact of life and I don’t think there is anything specifically wrong with my Sonos gear or set up. A good old ‘turn it off and on again’ is all that is required to fix it, but that is unfortunately an utter nightmare as the Arc power plug is buried away where it is very hard to get to. Please, please, please can we have a reboot device/system function in the controller app. Or even a key combination on the unit itself to get it to reboot. Apple provide the ability to reboot Homepods from the Home app and it is very useful.
Maybe one day these will be fixed ? Every time the PC is restarted this is loggedEvent 0 SonosLibraryService - Service cannot be started. The handle is invalidEvery time the Windows app is closed this is loggedEvent 1000 Application Error - Faulting application name: Sonos.exe - Exception code: 0xc0020001
I would like to see some new features in the iPhone app. the introduction to screen widgets. Controller, what’s playing, alarm on / off an Easier way to turn an alarm on and off from the app.
Hi everyone. Sorry if this has been answered already but here’s my issue; I have just moved house and inherited a Sonos Connect Amp. I have done a factory reset on it. I have brought my multiple Sonos One’s over and re set them up. They are all working (using the Sonos S2 app). when I try add the amp it tells me I need to do this using the S1 app, so I switch to that app and as soon as the app opens, I get a message telling me I can do everything on the S2 app now. So I switch back and it’s just sending me in circles? any help would be appreciated. thank you
I just spent over $2000 on this system, loaded up my music… And it couldn’t finish. I see from past posts that it has something to do with a memory limit of older devices. I have this 32-bit application called Winamp that hasn’t really been updated since before Sonos released its first product. It handles hundreds of thousands of songs with no problem. What’s the work-around? I see support posted a link in a previous thread, but the link doesn’t work anymore. If I pare back my indexed folders, I can live with this, but this feels like it’s going to be the first of a series of software issues for something that’s supposed to be a premium product.
So now Dark mode is enabled? It’s in settings-app preferences-appearance.This must have been part of 13:3:2 but I’m sue it wasn’t turned on then. Seems to have been activated later, or maybe I’ve only just noticed, although no one else seems to have noticed either😳
As per the title, nice to just let it finish rather than either stopping or waiting around to end of track because you’d like to hear it anyway.
Hello; I’m using a Samsung TAB A for my Sonos 2 controller, version 13.3. I want to upgrade to a Windows 10 or 11 Surface Pro 7 Notebook, so will the Sonos 2 controller load and work on a WIN 10 or 11 device? The online results are contradictory & not clear, nothing new there! Thanks, Stef 11
Hi there. Just wondering if there is anyway disconnect from Tune-In Radio and just add internet streams with out it? I've got all kind of urls I use with JRiver and on my phone. Stream quality is higher, delay is shorter and no ads. Thanks
I’ve recently seen ads and promos being served via the iOS Sonos app. I find it annoying and I don’t appreciate it, but does anyone else know about it?
Hello,I’m using a tp-link P7 mesh wifi network (tp-link setup in access mode).I’m NOT using sonosnet. All my Sonos speakers (S2) work fine around the house but ios controller app (both on my iphone or ipad) has a strange behavior when I’m moving from room to room:app work ok then I go into another room everything looks fine on the app but no display update to show speakers state, queue position, etc when I’m trying to do anything with the speakers from the controller (play/pause, changing source...), the app say it cannot connect to the speakers….The app works fine after a restart but if I move in another part of the house, it will not be able to connect to the speakers anymore until restart of the app.Any idea ?Thanks, Denis
I have the following equipment, on three different floors of my house:Room A: 2 Fives (stereo pair)Room B: 1 OneRoom C: 1 Play:5 (gen 1)Rooms A and B are controlled by S2 (iPhone)Room C is controlled by S1 (iPhone)Everything has been working perfectly, exactly as expected, for quite some time. Last evening, though, though, I experienced a particularly annoying issue --Room A was active -- streaming from TuneIn Radio. Rooms B and C were inactive. The S2 controller suddenly popped up a message that an additional Sonos system had been found and was incompatible with S2, and it asked how I wanted to proceed. That is, the old Play:5 had been discovered by S2. I had the choice of adding the Play:5 (which of course would not be allowed) or taking additional action. ‘Taking additional action’, as far as I could tell, involved resetting the S2 system, which of course I also didn’t want to do.I was stuck in an infinite loop. Closing/reopening S2 by itself did not make the message go away. I final
Just over 2 weeks ago, my Sonos controllers have all stopped working correctly. They all say “No music selected” and the play/pause buttons are greyed out. The queue sometimes is empty, sometimes shows an old playlist. I actually found today that one of the controllers was telling me that it was playing something I was listening to a few days ago via Spotify Connect (but not any more). This is a problem on Android, iPhone and Mac.Also, the volume controls are weird - on the Mac, some of them are unusable, on the Android they are all positioned at 0. (But on Android they still work when I change the volume.))I can play new music fine, but just not pause it once it starts! Voice control from both Alexa and Google works normally and is the only way I can really control the playback. Occasionally, after replacing the queue I can select something from the queue to skip to, but not always. Some other things work OK, like displaying and changing room groups. I can also use Spotify Connec
