Controllers and Music services

There are many occasions where I listen to audio within a tab on my Chrome browser. It would be nice to be able to capture the audio and stream it directly to Sonos. Same with YouTube.

While on Android 10 I was able to at least resize the Sonos widget from 4x2 to 4x1 this stopped working on Android 12 and it still doesn't work on Android 13. So I am left with a widget that takes almost half the screen for no reason. Please provide additional widget sizes or at least allow resizing.

Can Sonos put an update so you can adjust the volume level of Arc just in the same way you can independently adjust the volume levels of the Sub and Sonos Ones (surrounds),  when all four are linked in a home theatre set up. Since the new firmware update the Arc sounds more suppressed /muted.Also, it would be very useful if in a future firmware update if Sonos can add to the existing EQ treble and bass, an additional mid-range level adjustment. i.e. User adjustable treble, bass and mid-range too! This would really help those who want to tweak vocals and mid-range in music and movies like they do with bass and treble. It would be particularly useful for soundbars like the Arc, but also would be nice for other standalone speakers too. The dialogue enhancer feature is too restrictive and does not work with pure music playback (non movie) and is not a substitute for mid-range EQ level adjustment.

I still find previous version was the best as current sound feel low ( Lack of sound stage ) and insufficent of volume. It require high volume to meet with previous version. Anyone have such feeling, I hope SONOS can reconsider ver updates as previous dialogue is much clearer too.

Hi,I am using 2 sonos amps (the recent models) with a bunch of sonos architectural speakers.The hardware is great, the sound is excellent... but. I can confirm after extensive testing that android streaming and sonos is not a very good idea.Ok, it works…. for a while… and I can make a work again. But at home we have a mix of iphone’s and android devices. Airplay works in 100% in the cases ok, always. The problem are the android phones, after a while, of after using Airpay… it doesn’t work well any  more. Yes, the solution of re-authenticating spotify works, or rebooting the amps. That works, but, it remains extremely annoying. I am 100% sure this is not a network problem. It is a problem of not being 100% compatible with android. And certainly the mix of Apple & Android devices to control the amps. Sadly, I already extensively discussed this with Sonos support … but they always put the blame somewhere else. My samsung galaxy10 connects yet volume controls won’t function. when I increase the volume it decreases it straight away. Orange light cycles back and forth with blue light. This happens if I use controls on roam or on phone.

Hi, I’me developing a custom music service for SONOS in wich custom playlists are provided to be playes (Spotufy alike).I’ve implemenented the required endpoints and I can see while debugging that the GETLASTUPDATE and GETMETADATA endpoints are called and that the information is show in the APP (Playlists lista, track list by playlist and artist and album info).The issue is, When I try to reproduce a complete playlist or a track I get a “Unable to add songs to Queue) message and no call is done by the app to the API.What am I missing here?? Bellow you may find some of the endpoints output.Request:<getMetadata xmlns="http://www.sonos.com/Services/1.1">        <id>root</id>        <index>0</index>        <count>100</count></getMetadata>Response:<ns1:getMetadataResponse>         <ns1:getMetadataResult>            <ns1:index>0</ns1:index>            <ns1:count>9</ns1:count>            <ns1:total>9<

Hi, I can't seem to find Twitch on my Play 1 speakers. I usually use either Alexa or my Android phone to use Sonos. A few other music streaming services are available, like Mixcloud. Will Twitch be available? A lot of my favourite DJs only play on Twitch.

Hello,I would like to suggest a new feature for the iOS App of Sonos. It would be great to have profiles for the EQ that automatically set at a given time the EQ according to a preset config/profile.E.g.: I could create two EQ profiles that automatically adjust the EQ once a given time is reached (skipping loudness in this example); “Profile Day at 8AM” with Bass +10 and Treble +5 and “Profile Night at 9PM” with Bass -10 and Treble +0.→ That is it for the basic feature! The Sonos sound system seems to be currently unaware of the night/day time and does not adjust accordingly.Most of my home and/or smart devices etc. are “going to sleep” (and “wake up” as well) at a given time I set; dimming the light, filtering blue light etc. and that would be an awesome feature for the sound system as well. More ideas for fine-tuning or extra features:Support different profiles for different days; this way weekends could have “a little extra hour of full sound” or something like that. Dear Sonos,why is the Sonosapp top 1 cpu consumer (accumulated) on windows?https://i.imgur.com/bijUOBb.pngThis is ridiculous. When the app is idle, it shouldn’t consume anything.Looking at it with ETW, it seems it redraws everything every 0.000000000000001ms?You know there are more efficient ways to do that, right? 

There is a nightmare I have where i can’t log in to a really important site because I can’t remember my password, or at least the one I can remember isn’t accepted. However, there is a “forgot your password” button and I am emailed a reset password email, which I follow, to a new password that is accepted by a website, a forum, but not where I want to log in.ON the Sonos App. I am baffled that this nightmare has come to life: Sonos app asks me to log in but doesn’t accept my password. I reset and am directed to the website. When i go back to the app, again I am told the password is incorrect, but I can reset my password. And so the merry go round continues. I know the propagation of the password information can take a few minutes, or that you can’t update an account that doesn’t exist. Doesn’t apply. I also thought I should update the app, that might fix it. Oh, you need to login to update... So how is it reset my password on the Sonos app is broken and how do i log into my Sonos app s

Hey I’m sure this has been asked before but having spent some time searching the forums I can’t find a definitive answer.Can I play Apple Music Lossless audio through my Sonos system? My understanding is that this isn’t possible through the S2 app, but does this work via Airplay? ThanksRex

 Hi, I have recently attempted to reinstall the Sonos app for Windows (11 64 bit). I uninstalled the version I had as it could not connect or find my system. I am getting the above error when attempting to open the app at the end of the install process.  Any ideas?

I just migrated to a new MacBook and am downloading software. I went to download the Sonos app for Mac and saw that there are other (pay) apps available - Remote for Sonos, Switch for Sonos, Soro for Sonos, Audio Cast for Sonos. I have (unfortunately) two PlayBars and 5 Play:1 speakers.  I know there are a lot of posts about how rotten the Sonos for Mac app is and I agree.Does anyone have experience with these apps (or others)? I wish I could “try before I buy” but it’s not an options. Reviews seem to be good?  Thanks! As a complete aside and simple rant, because Sonos’s screwed us with their policy on “older” speakers that are 2-4 years old, I’m planning to go 3rd party as I can afford it to replace the Play:1’s. I’ll keep the PlayBars - we don’t really use them for music. I have zero interest in smart speakers unless the listening ability can be turned off. Just had to say!

I’m just trying to play a BBC radio station through my Sonos beam.But it keeps referring to ‘TuneIn’ where the BBC no longer broadcast stations.I have the BBC Sounds app set up in Sonos and it works when I activate it manually from the app but doesn’t work under a voice command. Through Google assistance.YouThrough Google assistance.It just says ‘ alright, playing BBC Radio 1 on tune in, sorry I couldn’t find what you asked for‘  why is it defaulting to tune in?   

I have the Playbar, sub and a pair of SL Ones in the hall and in my room the Arc and a pair of SL Ones. Sometime back I had a problem with the sound in my room and i was asked by Sonos Beta whether I had done the Trueplay of not and I answered no because I do not have anyone here with iPhones. I do have the 5th generation iPad Air but it is not supported as yet. Then I was sent the trueplay link where I had to activate the mic in my iPad before following the instructions. There was remarkable improvement to the sound in the hall as well as my room. Now I intend to add a sub to my room and so I requested the Trueplay link from Sonos BUT they are unable to help me. They suggested I should try the Beta Community for help. Can anyone be kind enough to send me the Trueplay link before I get the sub. Thank you.

Hi, I am unable to connect to my products after upgrading to iOS 16 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.I’ve made sure there is no interference, VPNs and such.I’ve deleted and reinstalled with no luck.My wife can still connect fine as she is still on iOS 15. Any advice?

Hi, I got a Sonos One, set up the app, connected Tidal, all works great.Is there any way to get autoplay to work through the app? Normally, when you finish a playlist on Tidal, it switches to “track radio” and plays continuously . Can’t seem to find this option though the Sonos app. Thanks

Hi,I have been using Deezer for years but want to switch. Currently I can save to a Deezer playlist using the sonos app - so it’s then possible to access the playlist later in the car etc - rather than making sonos playlists which are only good at home. This function is not possible with Apple Music so a deal breaker for me as seems a fundamental function! Does anyone know what music streaming services I can save playlists to whilst listening/using sonos app?tia

I have a Home Theater setup (Beam, Sub and 2 Play One SL)I like the touch panel functionality but I have to disable it because my kids like to press the touch buttons on the surround speakers.. They are not that high placed. It would be convenient if there was an option in the software where i could make to Beam work with touch panel and disable the touch panel function on the other devices

I can't upgrade to S2 because I have some old components. On the S1 app, when trying to ‘add a service’, I get a message “App update needed.” Does “update” mean upgrading to S2, or is it just a new version of S1? In other words, how do I add additional services to S1 without updating to S2?
