Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

How would I play my Chirp audiobooks from iPhone to Sonos? (I only saw an answer regarding non-Apple products.)
I have a lot of Sonos speakers throughout my house, and it would be nice to be able to use a single volume control for all speakers at once. This is not currently practical, because each speaker has its own relative volume profile that depends both on the speaker type and on other factors, such as room size and placement. It would be great to be able to spend some time creating snapshots of various volume settings, so that all the speakers have the same relative volume throughout the house, and then for the Sonos app to create volume curves from those snapshots. I think this could be done pretty easily with just three snapshots, one for low volume, another for medium volume, another for high volume. Then, the app would calculate volume curves for each speaker, at which point you should be able to control the volume for all speakers at once with a single slider/knob/etc, with the relative volume of each speaker remaining consistent at all times.I really can't imagine a scenario where peo
Why does Sonos keep closing this topic? We need a fix for this. Every time I update Sonos Controller 1 it restarts my Windows 10 PC without any warning. After it has done this, the update runs and every thing is fine. It is very irritating and without a prompt about a restart you could lose any unsaved work.
Do the various SONOS RADIO channels have corresponding playlist available to listeners
Anytime I attempt to play a podcast through YouTube Music, I receive the error "Unable to play (podcast) - the connection to YouTube Music was lost." I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the service but with no luck. I'm able to play music, just no podcasts... Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks!
The Sonos Speaker does not support bluetooth because there are losses. however, there must be protocol and software(device drivers or middle ware) which should be able to connect the five as an output speaker from my PC or phone.I do not need to connect a external device to do the same.Buying such luxury speaker should come with atleast these features or atleast allow the community to develop such software.
I have been told that I can no longer update my system or add products to my existing system because my iPhone operating system is too old. The mesons as follows: The OS on this mobile device is no longer Supported. Which basically means I have to get a new phone if I want to receive sonos updates!!
I have updated to S2 app and added a move speaker to the 3 Sonos 1s, 1 Sonos 3, play bar and sub . The S2 app keeps dropping the speakers and I can’t see them on app, they will then re appear only to be dropped again later, this is very annoying. I have a play 5 also which now operates on a S1 controller on the same WiFi network and this seems to be operating ok. Are there fixes planned to be made to the S2 controller app as it seems very unstable or should I revert all speakers back to S1 controller if that’s possible?
Is there a chance of implementing a feature for access control on the Sonos Amp so that individuals can only access it with permission granted by you?
Hi i am new to the forum and have a question about listening to talking books. We both have the app on our phones logged in via one account and my wife listens to music and i want to mostly listen to talking books but music as well. The great majority of our content both music and books is stored on our NAS server in separate folders. In the App there is only one music library so books and music get mixed up when looking in Albums or artists etc. I know you can access the folders separately within the music library but then the search by folder/artists etc is not so good and you have more menus to get through.Does anybody have a solution for this? or would a development request to Sonos be the best way to go? Thanks
I couldn’t find new updates to this topic within about the last year so I am throwing this out there again for an update. What music streaming services stream/play in lossless through Sonos? If not answered in the first question, does Apple Music stream/play in lossless through Sonos? Thank you.
I have multiple Sonos amps all connected to router via ethernet (and 1gb fiber internet service), and all music services I use work more or less flawlessly except Amazon Prime Unlimited HD which drops out/pauses/stutters frequently IF I START AN AMAZON PLAYLIST FROM WITHIN THE SONOS APP. However, Amazon music plays perfectly on Sonos IF AND ONLY IF I either start Amazon on Sonos via alexa oir by aircasting from the Amazon music app from my phone. But if I try to play anything from Amazon Music Unlimited via the Sonos app, it will not work. Any suggestions?
The Sonos app indicated that I'm reaching the limit of albums I can add to "My Sonos". Where did this limit come from, what is it, and how can I save more albums? It's not like I have many saved as it is - maybe 20 or so.
I pay for Soundtrack Your Brand and when I complained to them about how their Scheduling service doesn’t work with Sonos, and I have to use Sonos Alarms instead, I was told that they have problems with features on Sonos because Sonos doesn't support volume normalization for playlists. Sonos Alarms are not ideal, as they immediately cut off any song that is playing and then slowly start the new station listed per the alarm with the sound slowly moving to the designated volume. This is pretty jarring in the middle of service. The Alarms are made necessary because Sonos doesn't allow Soundtrack to play without using the Shuffle option, and when shuffling Soundtrack itself uses an algorithm for the shuffle so you end up hearing the same song multiple times, not matter how long the playlist is. It feels like all the features of Soundtrack are being limited because Sonos has its own commercial music competitor now, which is a real shame.
Spotify offers podcasts, but I can’t find any in Sonos apps (iPad and android). Am I missing something ?
I miss the ability to control my sonos volume using my iPhones volume buttons. Is the Sonos App dev team working on making this work again? This was very useful.
Will lossless be avialable using Apple Music/S2 app on March 28th or just Dolby Atmos Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below.Lossless music from Apple Music isn't currently supported on Sonos from the Sonos app or the Apple Music mobile app.Sonos currently supports streaming hi-res audio from Amazon Music Unlimited (which streams up to 24-bit, 192 kHz). In order to listen to hi-res audio from Amazon Music on Sonos (which Amazon calls “Ultra HD”), you’ll need to sign up for Amazon Music Unlimited. (Note: when streaming on Sonos, the maximum sample rate is 48 kHz.)You can stream spatial audio from Apple Music to Sonos speakers that support the format. Here are some more information regarding lossless and Atmos music:The Beginner’s Guide to Hi-Res Audio The Beginner’s Guide to Spatial Audio Listen to Dolby Atmos Music on Sonos
I have recently moved to an samsung android device. On my apple device it was easy to delete songs in a playlist. How do you delete a song from a playlist on an android device?
“sonos controller installer failed to download. lost connection with server”I realize this has been an ongoing bug with the Sonos Controller S2 app for years, It started after the release of the S2 version. I’m just wondering if Sonos support will ever try to resolve the problem. The workaround continues to be to download the latest controller app, install it, then run the Update Now to push updates to the devices. This same problem occurs on any of the three PCs I run the controller from.
I want to search from my music library for all songs lets say from 1980s.I am sure you are all familiar with the below / attached screen shot.I am aiming to decide which album to play based on the year. So it would list something like 1988, 1989, 1990 etc.I would then like to be able to drill down on Year » Year date» Album Artist » Album or something similar to that just like you can currently drill down on Genre » Genre type » Album Artist » Album.Which would allow me to pick an artist/ album from the year I selected. Are there any options available other than restructuring my whole library structure to create sub folders based on year and then using the Folder drill down?If not, how can I direct this feature towards Sonos Dev team / Product Owner to consider for a future release?
I am using Sonos One on a Mac. I make playlists using using Spotify, not Apple. There are two symbols on the Sonos playlist page. One is obviously shuffle; I think the other is repeat. I do not want to do either of these things. I just spent over three hours making a 54-song playlist, and I want it played in order, NOT shuffled.I chose “play, even though it was grayed out (because there was no other choice) instead of the shuffle symbol above my playlist. But when the playlist went into the left-hand column to play, it automatically rearranged all 54 songs. This happens to ALL of my playlists; I have no control over it. But this one I wanted in order. Now it’s all jumbled up.
User Story: As a music listener, I want to the option to set group volume with a single tap when selecting a group, so I can quickly and easily configure the soundscape according to my preferences, before the music starts playing. This might be solved via “group profiles” — presets that save the individual volume levels for all speakers in a group. These profiles would enable the listener to save relative volume levels according to their preferences for each speaker in the group. For example, Roam speakers generally require higher level settings than other speakers to achieve the same overall decibel level. The perceived volume for a given speaker is also affected by room placement and other factors. In addition to the convenience of setting relative volumes that are appropriate for each speaker, the listener can also use group profiles to quickly set the overall volume level before the music starts. For example, a profile for background music might be rather quiet, while a profile for a
