I have been told that I can no longer update my system or add products to my existing system because my iPhone operating system is too old. The mesons as follows: The OS on this mobile device is no longer Supported. Which basically means I have to get a new phone if I want to receive sonos updates!!

+24You likely also need to get a new phone to get phone OS updates, which are much more important than Sonos updates for your online health.

Isn’t it simply the case that 12 months after Apple withdraw their own support and stop updating their iOS mobile device (and are no longer providing any further security updates) that Sonos remove their own Apps administrative features - just so that any potential security risks are reduced.
Playback functionality is still allowed, but support for the device is eventually removed altogether (around about two years after Apple have stopped providing their support/updates) in order to keep any ongoing risks to a minimum.
I personally think that two years+ is a fair enough support period provided by Sonos, considering that Apple themselves are no longer supporting their own device in this case.

This is true, but I believe this is different than what you said (quoted below), which is what I was responding to. iOS 15 is still getting updates but Sonos has dropped admin control. Unless I’m not comprehending what you are saying.
In any case OP’s phone is likely ~9 years old, so blaming Sonos for moving on or more likely being forced to move on by Apple is kind of funny.
