Hi, I already asked this question elsewere but think it's better dealt with in it's appropriately titled own thread. Because I am afraid that at some point in time an update more or less might brick my CR200 because Sonos decides not to support it anymore, I would like to switch off the search for updates and the update notifications, too. Advices I've got so far: -turn notifications off in the settings menu - but there is no such setting on a CR200. -use parental control of my router and block u*.sonos.com. But it seems like the implementation in my router is somewhat flawed - many websites take much longer to open when I use the blacklist with u*.sonos.com as the only entry. Or maybe this is related to the recent hack attacks on big companies they mentioned in the news today? Anyway, when I use this blacklist item, I'd expect the 'Check for updates' to fail. But it doesn' give any error message, it just tells me that my system is up to date. Could a Sonos rep chime

This is Android version, Pixel XL phone, App version 6.4.7 I'm trying to add new devices to existing setup, but each time i select add new Player or Sub it takes me to a screen that says Sonos App needs updating - it then takes me play store which shows the sonos app page, but only says Open as i've already got the current version. Have tried uninstalling, and re-installing but same, have reset app, but same. Seems i'm currently unable to add any new devices - not happy !! 😠

Guys, Is there any way I can access my home Sonos network from a remote location? If I want to control Sonos when I am not at home how can I do this? Thanks David

Apple have just released into BETA Home Kit. This is a selection of dev tools to help integrate smart home products together. Hopefully plans are coming together to integrate this into the iOS app. It would be interesting to see what users think to this.

Hi, I have been using Sonos fine for the last 18 months or so. In that last few weeks, I have had an intermittent problem playing the music from my music library. Playback stopped completely this evening saying that the computer Simon's MacBook Pro cannot be found. I tried to update the music library, to no avail, I also tried to reset the sonos player. I also removed the music folder and tried to re-install, but failed to re-install it. I ended up uninstalling the Sonos player and reinstalling. Following this I tried to add my music as the music library where I keep getting the message: Sonos was unable to add the music folder - The computer Simon's MacBook pro cannot be found The folder I am directing it to contains all the iTunes folders that I have, so i don't know what the problem is. I've been a SONOS user for any years and have 10 zones, including a subwoofer and L/R pairs. Like others, I was a bit underwhelmed by the new functionality included in update 6.4. It certainly wasn't worth the price I've been forced to pay. I have three 4th generation iPods that I bought as dedicated SONOS controllers. They are running ios 6.1.6, which is the latest version available. I'm pretty peeved that these controllers no longer work as SONOS controllers once I updated my system to 6.4. SONOS should design their updates so that they don't shaft their existing users. I can understand that code will inevitably grow beyond the capability of older devices. But, I would be perfectly happy to have controller features frozen for older devices. I'd be content if I wasn't able to access all of the management functions from an older controller. But to have several perfectly good devices suddenly become totally unusable is an outrage. There are two versions of the SONOS App

Hello, I recently got an email saying that this feature was going to be released soon to the beta. I was wondering if there was an actual ETA on when that might be?

Since I downloaded the new Mac OS, Sierra, I am having problems with the controller not acknowledging my wifi connection. I have had to reset my controller multiple times to get it working again. Turning wifi on and off does not work. I also deleted and installed a new version of the Sonos Mac controller. That doesn't help either. Thanks for any suggestions on how to fix this

We currently use a handful of Sonos players throughout our office. It would be great if Sonos integrated with Slack so the song playing on a specific player (or group) could get pushed into a Slack channel.

Ciao, I'm using my Play 1 in living room, bathroom and bed room, moving the speaker from a room to another. Unfortunately it seems that I must re-calibrate trueplay every time I move the speaker to one of those three rooms... Is it possible to create an update able to store the settings for each room, avoiding the re-calibration procedure all the times? Thanks

Hi guys I want to be able to select and group rooms to my alarm Ie if all my rooms are already grouped from the night before i want my alarm to override that setting and only play the rooms which i have selected in the alarm setting. Example: 6:30 play kitchen and bathroom 12:00 play kitchen and dinning room (bathroom stopps) This would be such a helpful addition

Is there a way to create a repeating auto shut off? For example, at 11 pm, pause all music that is on.

Hello lovely SONOS people. Hope you can assist with this, sorry if it's been asked before!! I'm running an iMac with 10.6.8 which holds my iTunes library and has been working solidly for, well, for a very lond time. It's an original Intel 17 inch machine which alas can't have the software updated any further. For some reason, and I cant explain why, my SONOS controller software on this machine no longer works so, I'm looking to re-load it with a download from the SONOS site. The latest software will not work with my machine but I can't locate a software archive for a older suitable version. Could you please help and give me a link for the software that will work with 10.6.8. Thanks in advance to all the great community contributors.

I cannot play music from my itunes library through sonos on my mac laptop or from my ipad. I can however, play pandora. How do I connect to my itunes library??

Imagine syncing your Sonos to begin playing your favorite station upon arriving home. What about active syncing with Phillips Hue lights. Apple TV recognizing the Sonos system on a wifi integrated level allowing for custom audio output depending on app used. A wake up call of birds chirping throughout the house and a slow sunrise through your Hue lamps. Just saying the possibilities are endless and amazing. Apple supplies the kit, just integrate it with the Boost software (said ignorant of how this could work) Just imagine and share your thoughts. Thanks

I have 30 alarms and cannot add another, i get "unable to add alarm, please try again later" via windows and IPAD app - is this a limit?

I would argue that the most fundamental user action when using music software is to click on a song. In 6.4 there are at least 3 possible outcomes: 1. Overwrite the queue with that song and all others on the same album (queue not edited); 2. Ask for confirmation of item 1 (queue has been edited); 3. Place the song in the queue and start playing (when you click on a song as the result of a search). In cases 1 and 2, additional songs overwrite the queue. In case 3, just a single song is inserted. The Sonos UI is therefore inconsistent and counter-intuitive. The argument that this behavior makes the app more like Spotify, iTunes etc misses the point that the Sonos music system is designed to be used by groups of people as well as individuals. It needs to act as a jukebox as well as an ipod. Here's one possible solution: swap the actions of pressing a song and pressing the dots. This returns pressing a song to the old and familiar action. I recently purchased and installed a Sonos connect. Everything seems to be working fine. I just noticed a new Windows user account on my system with the Sonos name. I presume this is part of the Sonos application. Just wondering if this is OK and what it does?
