Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I would love to be ableto see the total lenth/time of all songs in a Queue or Playlists.
Using the new beta version 7 when I try and play a song to a grouped set of sonos speakers that includes a speaker that has autoplay of line-in turned on, I'm initially able to connect to the speakers only if I choose the non-line-in connected speaker first. Then when I hit play (after seeing "connected") immediately It kicks me back to "Manage devices." If I try to connect to the autoplay speaker first then it won't connect at all. As soon as I remove autoplay from this speaker groups work fine. With the upcoming connectivity options with Amazon Echo and the dot, this will be a bigger issue. Actually, it's already an issue for me as I can't leave autoplay on for a sonos speaker connected to an echo dot for line-in needs and be able to group this speaker for playback of spotify through the spotify app. Hopefully this all makes sense. I submitted a diagnostic but not sure what else to do to provide feedback on this.
Just updated to controller 6.4.8 on Android. Hardware still at 6.4.2. Any release note for this update? Thank you Camillo
I just found that a random German TV Android app (ARD Mediathek) allows audio streaming to my Sonos. It has a logo that is similar to the Chromecast logo, but it includes not only Chromecast but also 'Sonos Media Renderer'. Clicking on that allows me to stream the sound from the app to my Sonos. This is actually pointless, as I can't stream to my Chromecast at the same time, so I get the picture on my phone and the sound on my Sonos. But there must be other apps where this function is useful. I messaged Sonos about this and they just confirmed 'yes, this is possible' but didn't seem willing to tell me which other apps do this. I suppose it's probably not the most complete Sonos experience so they don't promote it, but it is still pretty cool.
I have an account created using the Email address k**********@talktalk.net however I no longer have access to this Email and can't remember the password I used so can't send a reset link.
When my wife wants me to turn down the TV volume, it would be great to plug in earphones into phone and hear TV through SONOS App. Is this feature possible, and if so how do I do it? If not this would be a great update to future app. Thanks for a great product. Magnus
I really never learn, do I? I updated to the MacOS Sierra when it came out, and trouble comes. A few programs is not compatible and the most annoying is Tidal on Sonos - my main source for music. I can play radio fine and sometimes Tidal after disconnecting and connecting the wifi. Sometimes I can see the Favorites when clicking, sometimes not. But all the time when I try to add tracks or album to the queue the message is "not able to add track to the queue". I have searched and searched - but it seems like it only me that have this problem with the Sierra update? I FEEL ALL ALONE!!!! I am hoping for updates (Mac or Sonos) that will resolve the problem. Or maybe you guys have a solution? Set up is iMac with Airport extreme. Fast connection. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Stein Stavanger, Norway
With a large library and using a half-dozen services, having a recently played, maybe by album, would be really helpful.
How about a controller for Android TV? I think the current app would upsize just fine, even.
I use a Sonos at work and would like the alarm to turn the unit on for 8hrs, but the duration is only 2hrs max. So I have to set an alarm to turn it on and another to turn it off. It never works right. It would be easier if you could just increase the alarm duration to include up to 12 or more hrs.
I have two play ones set up in my office, Just think it would be nice to have an option to set the desktop as an audio source. Desktop audio via DLNA to the play ones as a built in option. Would greatly broaden the usability as then they could play the audio for movies, games, youtube, and well any audio on the desktop at all
I know this is a frequently asked question, so I'd just like to know if Sonos actually listen to their customers? I work in the music industry and have personally experienced the battles that go on with the company Sonos system. Staff turn down music, insert their tracks into a playlist to disrupt an album playback and sometimes disconnect speakers from a party. It's total chaos and frustrating as we need to have the flexibility of having the Sonos on our current network, so can't segment the Sonos system via WiFi to restrict it that way. What we'd ideally like is to have some form of advanced management feature on the Sonos to switch between allowing individual accounts or everyone. I really can't see how difficult it would be to code this kind of restriction, either by MAC address or a "superuser" password on each connected controller if the setting is enabled. It's been years now and it doesn't appear that Sonos are doing anything about "Song wars" at a party. I've even
Hi there, Since upgrading to 3.1 my cr200 has become unresponsive in certain parts of the scree. For example if i try and adjust the treble in the music equalisation screen I cant move the slider. If I try and slide up and down using the A-Z slider at the RHS of my music index it stutters at E and jumps to M. I have contacted Sonos who suggested that I reset the controller but to know avail. Any ideas? Frazer
Hi there, I'm using my new computer pc a new ones with a real copy of windows 7 professional Installation was good for a couple day until i've decide to install SONOS on to my computer everythings work fine, then after restart my pc my password could not use anymore WHAT IS A PROBLEMS ???????
Please enable MEO Music, (Portugal,) as a compatible Music Service
Hi, I already asked this question elsewere but think it's better dealt with in it's appropriately titled own thread. Because I am afraid that at some point in time an update more or less might brick my CR200 because Sonos decides not to support it anymore, I would like to switch off the search for updates and the update notifications, too. Advices I've got so far: -turn notifications off in the settings menu - but there is no such setting on a CR200. -use parental control of my router and block u*.sonos.com. But it seems like the implementation in my router is somewhat flawed - many websites take much longer to open when I use the blacklist with u*.sonos.com as the only entry. Or maybe this is related to the recent hack attacks on big companies they mentioned in the news today? Anyway, when I use this blacklist item, I'd expect the 'Check for updates' to fail. But it doesn' give any error message, it just tells me that my system is up to date. Could a Sonos rep chime
This is Android version, Pixel XL phone, App version 6.4.7 I'm trying to add new devices to existing setup, but each time i select add new Player or Sub it takes me to a screen that says Sonos App needs updating - it then takes me play store which shows the sonos app page, but only says Open as i've already got the current version. Have tried uninstalling, and re-installing but same, have reset app, but same. Seems i'm currently unable to add any new devices - not happy !! 😠
Guys, Is there any way I can access my home Sonos network from a remote location? If I want to control Sonos when I am not at home how can I do this? Thanks David
Same problem as in https://ask.sonos.com/sonos/topics/my-preferences-tab-only-shows-date-and-time-i-dont-have-any-other... I sent my diagnostics (confirmation no. 4738102 Thank you!
Hi, I've connected an Amazon Echo Dot 2 to my Sonos:5 (1st gen) via the line in cable. Can anyone tell me the best Line-in Source Level to use please?
Apple have just released into BETA Home Kit. This is a selection of dev tools to help integrate smart home products together. Hopefully plans are coming together to integrate this into the iOS app. It would be interesting to see what users think to this.
Hi, I have been using Sonos fine for the last 18 months or so. In that last few weeks, I have had an intermittent problem playing the music from my music library. Playback stopped completely this evening saying that the computer Simon's MacBook Pro cannot be found. I tried to update the music library, to no avail, I also tried to reset the sonos player. I also removed the music folder and tried to re-install, but failed to re-install it. I ended up uninstalling the Sonos player and reinstalling. Following this I tried to add my music as the music library where I keep getting the message: Sonos was unable to add the music folder - The computer Simon's MacBook pro cannot be found The folder I am directing it to contains all the iTunes folders that I have, so i don't know what the problem is. Please can anyone help? Thanks Simon
I've been a SONOS user for any years and have 10 zones, including a subwoofer and L/R pairs. Like others, I was a bit underwhelmed by the new functionality included in update 6.4. It certainly wasn't worth the price I've been forced to pay. I have three 4th generation iPods that I bought as dedicated SONOS controllers. They are running ios 6.1.6, which is the latest version available. I'm pretty peeved that these controllers no longer work as SONOS controllers once I updated my system to 6.4. SONOS should design their updates so that they don't shaft their existing users. I can understand that code will inevitably grow beyond the capability of older devices. But, I would be perfectly happy to have controller features frozen for older devices. I'd be content if I wasn't able to access all of the management functions from an older controller. But to have several perfectly good devices suddenly become totally unusable is an outrage. There are two versions of the SONOS App
Hello, I recently got an email saying that this feature was going to be released soon to the beta. I was wondering if there was an actual ETA on when that might be?
Since I downloaded the new Mac OS, Sierra, I am having problems with the controller not acknowledging my wifi connection. I have had to reset my controller multiple times to get it working again. Turning wifi on and off does not work. I also deleted and installed a new version of the Sonos Mac controller. That doesn't help either. Thanks for any suggestions on how to fix this
