Hi, I am currently using a Kindle Fire HD 3rd generation to control my Sonos system. I find it very slow, has anyone any ideas for a cost effective tablet that will be used primarily as a Sonos controller. that will be quicker than the tablet I am using at the moment. Regards RoyP
Since upgrading to the newest version 8 of the sonos controller app, I see severe battery usage in standby on my iPhone 5s. The stats on iOS 11.0.2 tell me that within the last 3 days the app was running just 6 minutes in foreground and 13 hrs background, still it managed to account for 70% of my battery consumption. I did not have this issue with previous versions of the app. Am I the only one who is seeing this?
The idea about the mini controller is great, but it is still pretty bulky? Any chance to find an even smaller player without the album/station graphics taking up so much space? Quick access to Sonos while working is essential, but taking way to much screen space currently.
I have 9 Sonos devices now, and my system is still growing... There are areas in my house that I would like to semi-permanently group together, and label that subgroup of devices (master bedroom, master bathroom, and master closet could become one subgroup). I predict I would never want to address these areas separately, yet in the current software, I must. I understand I could make a stereo group with both Play:1 speakers, but I reject that partial solution due to wanting mono in each room; I don't want left in one room and right in a different room. Another feature that would be nice, using my above example, I'm using a Connect:Amp to power a pair of ceiling speakers in the master bedroom, while using a Play:1 in the master bathroom, and a Play:1 in the master closet. I always have to set the volume of the master bedroom slightly higher (let's say 10% more) to match the levels when I'm moving from room to room. If I could subgroup these systems semi-permanently, I'd also like for t
Hi all, I have attempted to play music from my iPod nano via the headphone wire into the back of a Play 5. The iPod is working, but does not play through the speaker. Any advice?
Since updating Sonos apps and iPhones and iPad and the speaker has become erratic and constantly dropping out or showing device list but unable to control it.
I don´t know who to do, so I can listen to the music I have on my NAS (My Book Live) how do I get acces two the NAS?
I was at a vacation rental with a sonos play:3 last week, and was unable to add my own music service. I figured the owner did that on purpose to save her from having to re-set it all the time - smart! Now we're looking at putting 4 players in our new vacation rental, but I can't figure out how to enable guest limits like that. On my current home system, it appears that anyone with the app can add music services, change My Sonos playlists, etc. How do I let friends and guests play music without screwing up my system? thanks!
I picked up a Sonos One today after learning of the Airplay 2 support. Everything is working great with older speakers. I'm trying to use Siri on my phone to launch music. It is setup in the Kitchen. However, after adding the new Sonos One to Homekit, and requesting music in the "kitchen" or "everywhere", Siri responds "Sorry, I couldn't play that in the kitchen" I am running iOS 12 beta 3.
I have new Samsung Note 8, and I have installed the Sonos App on it to control things. The app on the phone occasionally boots up and lets me search, however whenever I try and add the content I can't select anything. I can change the search criteria, but I can't select anything that it finds. All of the apps on other devices work fine, as well as the computer applications, it is just on my Note 8. I have uninstalled, reinstalled the app, rebooted the phone, and killed the app and relaunched it, all with no change. The only way I have found to get it to work is to open the app, then let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. Any suggestions?
The Mac version of the controller is great but doesn't really try to integrate with the Mac OS UI. If I have several windows open on my laptop screen, I find it very annoying that I cannot control something as basic as the volume of a Sonos zone from the Mac menu bar. There are several other ideas I could think of to make the Sonos controller more usable for Mac users (a dashboard widget, a quicksilver plugin etc, custom keyboard shortcuts), but just a simple volume control would be a major breakthrough and probably not very difficult to implement as most controller functionality is directly accessible from the dock's contextual menu.
I'd love to be able to control Sonos while on my Mac without having to open the full app. It would be nice to have a menu bar icon available at all times that would give controls and allow you to see what's playing.
I have a large personal Music collection on my NAS and I notice the Android app doesn't have the same basic feature as the IOS App. In short when searching for artists or albums with the IOS app you have an index of number and letters down the right side of the screen so you can quickly jump up and down the list, where on the Android app these quick index doesn't exists. If it can be done for IOS app it shouldn't be that hard for the Android app to have the same functionality. Can I ask that this change to be made ASAP. Thanks.. Regards Peter
Please add the ability for the user to pick the amount of time for the crossfade playback feature when using Sonos.
I have 17 Sonos Connects in my rack. In my Ubiquiti UNIFI Controller I see all of the them listed. (I turned off WiFi on all of them and have them directly wired to my switch). I would like to name each Sonos Connect in my UNIFI controller with the corresponding room it goes to. Rather than going to the rack, and using the app to turn off the LED, find the Sonos Connect, fish it out to read the MAC address - then repeating that 16 more times... Can I just go into the app, select the room, and find the MAC address or IP address? Or any easier way? Thanks!
I am trying to update an old ZP80 and it is not possible. The Controller requires updating the ZP80 but finally gives an error. I've tried all the tricks but it's still the same. It is a new installation with a ZP80 that I had never installed before. I hope your help. regards.
How can I set a volume limit? My PLAY5 only a week, but I already 2 times accidentally made the volume to full in the middle of the night through a sonnet controller on the poppy
Sonos can we have a setting which can be set to stop maximum volume getting accidentally turned up
How do I shuffle stations in sonos favorites? I have favorites from many sources (My music library, Spotify, Pandora)
Hey Sonos, Love the product(s) (P1 and P3's), but your updates now are troublesome to say the least. Update 9.0 took 3 attempts, had to manually restart a speaker to get the update to work and then another separate speaker lost it's registration and my music library had to be rebuilt because the path was gone/lost in the configuration. These issues never used to be a problems updating. What gives?
Sonos should create a better mini-player on the desktop. A pop-up would be nicier to show your current track/playlist. It should work a like itunes does. I just want to close the application window and still be abled to be informed!
How can I add a track to a Google Music playlist while in the Sonos app? We'd like to switch from Spotify and you can to a Spotify playlist from within the Sonos app. Thanks. Steve
Has Sonos lost its mind !!! Why in this day and age can the owner of the house not limit the volume and use of certain zones for the obvious reasons. Max volume and usage hours being the obvious. Kids, Parents, Grandparents, with bad hearing aids, Oh !!!!!! lets not forget the annoyed neighbours in the mix. If Sonos don't do it quick then there is a market out there for any clever techy that can develop a solution !!!!!!!!!!!! Lets hope Sonos come to the table before the developers have too............. I would very much appreciate any third party controller advise. Running 15 zones between a private villa and private yacht all on Sonos.
i have a problem with the latest update, my bridge doesn't want to update and reply me : error 30 : bridge. i try all the things that you suggest but nothings working. i send you the diagnostics confirmation : 324199901 . thanks
This is offered for your system management and senior development staff, please forward I have had SONOS installed in our home (a $15K system) for 4+ years and it works and sounds great, but.... You keep updating your app to add features and "correct bugs". You are driving users nuts, it's a sound system, not a critical heart monitor or sophisticated pc. We have 2 i-phones, 2-ipads and a Mac. Everytime you update, we can't turn the system on or off. and the update takes some time. First, if you are going to update, advise the user that an update is available and leave system control capability available until the update is complete. Organize your updates so they are made periodically, like every 3-4 months rather than as some developer gets a wild hair. Test your systems before released, this last round had 3, 4,... who knows how many updates to fix bugs. If you are not a teenager, are gainfully employed, have kids, are not independently wealthy, are over 60 or only moderately techni
