I now have 5 Sonos speakers, I never should have bought the latest 3 (playbar plus 2 x Sonos 3) as it was hard enough job with the original 2 Sonos 3 that I owned... Real hassle trying to get them grouped (wouldn't see the 2nd speaker), any changes to playing the 2 speakers (ie only 1 switched on) meant same issues. I naively thought the playbar might sort issues, it didn't. Tried "forgetting" all speakers, reinstalling controller didn't work (on both phone and tablet). Yet the cheap system in our office is a breeze, anyone can walk in, connect to wireless, download the app then control the speakers.. why not Sonos? ...Anyone walking around Edinburgh tonight might find a pile of Sonos speakers on pavement, albeit they may be in pieces as have been tossed out window.
For aesthetics my Playbar is hidden behind my wall mounted Sony Bravia tv. I have set up the remote and when in direct line (from the side) of the Playbar I can adjust the volume, however when sitting directly in front of the tv I can’t adjust the volume. The tv receiver starts picking up the remote and the TVs volume bar just goes up and down. Is there an easy fix for this?!
Cannot delete songs from playlists using iOS iPad, even when offers delete it does not delete. Can’t even delete the whole playlist. How do I get playlists off my Sonos?
Having a few issues when browsing 'Music Library > Albums' on PC and Android App: 1 - Album thumbnails are slow to load 2 - Occasionally thumbnails fail to load (timeout?) despite folder.jpg being present (and navigating into album always forces thumbnail to show correctly) 3 - Thumbnail is never show despite folder.jpg being present. I believe all my issues are because the artwork is too high quality. Images in the hundreds of Kb are taking too long to load, and when I browse the complete album catalog, this can cause some to not show at all. My point 3. is because some of my images are over 1024x1024 pixels in size (although comment in below link refers to embedded content): https://support.sonos.com/s/article/543?language=en_US So my question and reason for this topic. What is the optimal artwork size for Sonos please? Are there any links to docs/specifications/wikis etc.? I resized some images to 200x200 pixels, which resulted in much faster loading, probably because
My daughter was round our house for Xmas and used her Spotify, on an iPhone 6S, to create a playlist over my SONOS Play:1. The next day, when she was at her own house, 4 miles away, she was trying to use her Spotify to play over her own Bluetooth speaker, unfortunately my Play:1 started up on its own, and as the Bluetooth speaker wasn't responding she tried increasing the volume, yes you guessed it, the Play:1 began blasting out with the music she was trying to play! I have a Play:1, Play:3 and Play:5, with the Bridge, can anyone suggest how this could have happened? Jon
I've been having trouble playing from my phone library. Support suggested playing from our PC. Is there an easy way to edit the play list from the PC library? All I can see to do is check individual songs and then delete them all at once. A slow process to go from 7000 songs plus to 1000-2000 songs. All of my family's music is on the PC, so I don't want certain artists to play.
Hi, (A question I asked Sonos, with their reply. I wonder if anyone else would support this suggestion, thanks). >> My Sonos system is great, but we had a party and some of our friends are on the wifi. A couple of them went onto the Sonos system on their phones and started playing inappropriate tracks and controlling the playlist. Is there a way to disallow them from controlling the Sonos. I.e. possibly require a user password access. Many thanks Kind regards SteveMap. >> This is the response from Sonos Customer Care >> >> Good morning Steve, Thank you for contacting Sonos Customer Care. I am sorry that people were able to access your Sonos system whilst holding a party. We want to try and provide music in the household that is easy for the whole family to access, as this is the case the Sonos system does not have any restrictions to who can access the system. As long as someone is able to connect to the Wi-Fi they will be able to access the system. In this inst
When is trueplay being released for android? ?
My sonos system gets stuck on one song, regardless of how I select the song to be played. I have tried to play all of the songs from one album (selected down arrow from the top of the list of songs and select "play now" then tried 'play next' when the album did not progress to the next song, the music repeats on that one song I selected to start with (even if it is the first one in the list). This is an issue with the custom music lists I create, it only plays the song it start with, repeatedly, despite choosing to play all of them (15 songs). So, I guess I am stuck this one song at a time. I have read other forums similar to this, with this same long standing issue and it does not appear to have been addressed by Sonos. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Thank you
I have 5 Connect:Amp's in my home. They are excellent, but the tuning of the sound can be even better. I've been waiting patiently for Trueplay to be added as a feature since it was first announced. When will Sonos add it for the Connect:AMP?
Brand new Sonos Play: 1 Would like to add music to Sonos player/controller/software. Under the Manage menu, everything is greyed out. Mac is running Yosemite 10.10 Lastest Sonos software on speaker and on computer (mac) Tried uninstalling Sonos software, resetting software, restarting speaker... Still wont work???
I’m trying to play some podcasts that have been downloaded to the podcast app on my iPhone. I’ve read that I can find those under “On My Phone” (or something like that) under the Browse tab, but “On My Phone” is t even showing up.
Why do I need to sign into a Sonos account to add a speaker? Sonos speakers disappear regularly then I would just go in an add them again. And now, this PITA has been made worse by making me sign in to add hardware I OWN inside my OWN HOUSE. Explain to me someone why I need to sign in?
Sonos works fine if I run it from my phone. However, once I upgraded to Mohave on my Mac Air, the Sonos app got stuck and I can't do anything with it. It won't close, play, or delete. Attached is what how the app looks in my finder. How can I delete it and download it again?
Remember the Windows media player? The one that let you turn visualisations on and have some nice patterns display on your PC screen in time to the music? Is there a piece of software that I can run on my PC that will do the same while playing music via sonos controller / spotify premium account. So while I play spotify through sonos can I run an application to display visuals on one of my PC screens, ideally that react to the music like the old media player did? Currently I have a play 5 hooked up to my router and PC line in, paired with a Play 1 as my PC speakers. A little extravagant and i may replace these with PC speakers, so would any solution then work without line in to the Play 5? I anyone knows of such software and if this is even possible would appreciate a heads up. Thanks Clive
When I control the volume on my Sonos setup from my Android phone's hardware volume buttons, I see up to 6 sliders. Whe I slide 1 of them, all others slide to the same setpoint. I don't feel like this is normal/expected behaviour. Can I fix this? Is this a bug that can be fixed?
using an hp desktop with the sonos play:3. i want to stream music from itunes on the desktop through the sonos speaker.
Sonos app
I seem to be one of a number of Sonos owners who is having trouble with the latest controller update to 9.3. Some controller devices seem to have achieved a 9.3 update however, all my PC and ipad and android phone devices still start up with a request to update everything. The only way I can partially access my Sonos system is overriding the update and click on 'continue using controller'. This only shows some of the rooms being available for use as other rooms are greyed out and inaccessible. However, even trying to use the Sonos system this way, all media sources keep cutting out after seconds/minutes for a short time. I have submitted a diagnostic report 879747506. Nothing has changed on my system for several years. Nothing has been moved etc. A similar problem occurred a few years ago which was also most frustrating and it took Sonos to release an update 'fix' before my system returned to normal. Any help?
I would like to have continuous music playing - like cox cable music for 24 hours or more. I don't want to leave my computer or phone on the entire time. Do I have any options with Sonos???
My system is nowdays playing music ok but I still feel the Controllers are generally unresponsive and slow in many ways. This is especially prominent when I play local music files (flac). - Slow or extremely slow loading of artwork, sometimes artwork will never load for some tracks. But then next time it will load so no actual problem with the file. - On iOS if the Controller has been inactive for a while it will usually not respond first 5-10 seconds, also in this case artwork will reload, slowly. - If I pick up a iPad/iPhone with Controller running it will practically never show what I'm playing. It will show the wrong text, the wrong position and the wrong artwork. I will have to wait a ridiculous amount of time until it's correct. The problem exists on Laptop too but not so much as on iOS. - Very often on iOS the Controller will restart automatically when unit has been unused for a while. And after that restart it will take yet some time for correct artwork and controls to sh
Adjusting the volume on the Sonos app while playing music will also adjust my iPhone ring volume. How do I separate the volume control as such that the speaker volume control is independent?
I recently experienced the blank screen issue of the Sonos app (Windows 10 - 64bits). In this community I read a suggestion to uninstall the Intel graphics driver, but there may be an easier solution. At the bottom of the display settings window you will find graphics settings. Here you can set your preferences by app. I selected the Sonos.exe and assigned it another graphics driver. Without any restart I opened the Sonos app and it worked!
Am I missing something, or is it impossible to use the PC desktop controller to adjust the volume of individual zones when they are linked? On the remote controller, you can adjust the volume for the entire linked group, or zone by zone; the desktop controller, however, seems to only allow the option of adjusting the entire linked group. 😞
I would like to control the volume of my Sonos (controller) by pushing the standard volume buttons of my Mac. Similar to what you do with the Android volume button (or the iOS volume buttons, I assume)
