Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

The sonos app is almost always the app that uses the most battery on my iPhone. I barely use it to put the music on sometimes, but even in the background it drains battery. Today it was 32% of my battery usage and I only used it one or twice.
2 Issues here: - 1st issue is that our volume keeps increasing on its own. I can sit at the computer with the SONOS program open, and watch the bar jump up to max volume on its own. I try to slide it back down and watch it happen again. 4 days in a row now, so becoming an issue. Another thing to note is that I have no other controllers - I only use SONOS through my laptop. - 2nd issue: I used to be able to control the volume on all three of my speakers separately - I could click on the volume control button and it would drop down showing me the three speakers with their own volume control bar next to them. Now I can only edit the volume as a group. Is there anything I can do to alter the volume on each speaker on its own?
Can anyone help, I am using a Play:3 with the Sonos Mac Controller, the Next/ Previous buttons on my keyboard work fine, but the volume control does not register at all. I am about to wall mount the speaker and will be in trouble if I can not control the volume from my computer??
What were your designers and approvers thinking when you updated the app, creating such an AWFUL user experience? I am seriously considering switching to a different brand. FIX IT!!!!
My room setting fell out of my app. How do add a room there are no options?
I am having issues with my Sonos system that seems to have started after the latest update? It does not matter what device I use to control the system...PC based, tablet based, phone based, wired or wireless connectivity, and do have a bridge connected wired. The system has worked perfectly for two+ years and just started having issues recently. It starts fine but might “crossfade” midstream during a song or just stops, then may start again after a while or just stops and I see the error message "unable to connect to Sonos player"? I have rebooted my router and bridge a few times but nothing changes. The player may play for a few songs then start acting up or may play for longer. I have 4 Play 5 speakers, one Play 3 speaker, a Sonos Amp and the bridge, and was looking at adding the PlayBar, but am holding off for now. And after having enjoyed my Sonos system without issue for a few years, I was wondering if the latest update is c
I recently bought a Beam which I am very happy with. It sounds great paired with my Sub and two Play 1s. My assumption was that I could then use the same Sub in the same room to listen to music with my two Play 5s as I have done for the past 2 years and been very happy. In order to do this Sonos support told me that I could unpair the Sub from the Beam and two Play 1s and then pair it with the two Play 5s. All good, although a bit of a clunky way to do it. The much bigger problem is that I have to re-do the Trueplay each time I swap over the Sub. As I have a room without carpet, lots of windows and a bit of an odd shape, I rely on Trueplay to make my Sonos system 'sing' (Trueplay - fantastic addition btw Sonos). I do not have time or the quiet house to do this each time I want to swap it over. I asked Sonos to put a request in for me to develop a fix for multiple Trueplay configs for my one Sub and they advised that they would pass on my request but that I should raise this in this for
I love my Sonos systems (multiple speakers). Sound is great, listening over WIFI is terrific. I'm not having so much luck with setting up my playlists. I would like to have Sonos playlists, but find creating them a challenge. Please enable drag and drop (e.g. from the queue) into a playlist. For instance, I'd like to select multiple songs from the queue and drop them into a playlist. Adding songs one at a time is tedious. I know I can drag and drop to the queue, which helps. What would help enormously is the ability to edit existing Sonos playlists with D&D. thanks a bunch!
I don’t want to go and buy any new tablet if I have to at the moment. Not working due broken leg in July. My X-10 home control app on the iPad is no longer available on Apple Store, but it is on Android Play Store. I was given a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 GT-P3110, with Android Version 4.2.2 But that can’t run the Sonos App So I am still ‘screwed’ I now need the iPad for Sonos and the Android for the TIP10RF app for the X-10 So this old Tab2 is too old for Sonos as it can’t upgrade the OS any more. What Android OS do I need for Sonos App ? Looking for a used Android Tablet, but need to know what to look for.
I'd very much would like to control (or at least monitor) my Sonos system over VPN. I can control my lighting and HVAC via Lutron and my IP cameras but it appears that the Sonos iOS app only functions over the device's wireless interface (network). All that is required is a change to allow the Sonos app to use any network, wifi or otherwise. This could be implemented as a enumerated list in the app's settings where the user could enable or disable (on or off slider) each network type and then sort the list to establish a priority. I understand that there would be a delay if for example, my primary network was wifi but I was currently connected remotely via VPN, I would have to wait for discovery via wifi to timeout before the app would begin searching via VPN. This would be acceptable to me. Thanks!
Why can my nieghbor play my Sonos speakers from his home without my permission?
We have commercial SONOS customers that rely on the desktop app to control their system, as there is no WiFi available for mobile devices. I cannot for a minute think we are the only SONOS customers in this predicament. The latest desktop application does not allow any system management at all. We need SONOS to release a new version that will restore system management. My discussions with SONOS support were unsatisfactory to say the least, but they did suggested starting a thread to round up support for a revised controller. So come on people, lets get the ball rolling!
Sonos to play an MP3 or Radio Station from VB.NET
well, sort of 😉 Just thought that I would share this with the community - I am running a sonos controller from my web browser under linux ! happy times I just installed an extension called "arc welder" (https://developer.chrome.com/apps/getstarted_arc) into my chrome browser. Arc welder lets you run android apps in your chrome browser and guess what ? the 5.3.1 apk of sonos controller for android works a treat go forth, run your sonos controller under linux. at last. All features of the android controller seem to work perfectly. Julian
I now have 5 Sonos speakers, I never should have bought the latest 3 (playbar plus 2 x Sonos 3) as it was hard enough job with the original 2 Sonos 3 that I owned... Real hassle trying to get them grouped (wouldn't see the 2nd speaker), any changes to playing the 2 speakers (ie only 1 switched on) meant same issues. I naively thought the playbar might sort issues, it didn't. Tried "forgetting" all speakers, reinstalling controller didn't work (on both phone and tablet). Yet the cheap system in our office is a breeze, anyone can walk in, connect to wireless, download the app then control the speakers.. why not Sonos? ...Anyone walking around Edinburgh tonight might find a pile of Sonos speakers on pavement, albeit they may be in pieces as have been tossed out window.
For aesthetics my Playbar is hidden behind my wall mounted Sony Bravia tv. I have set up the remote and when in direct line (from the side) of the Playbar I can adjust the volume, however when sitting directly in front of the tv I can’t adjust the volume. The tv receiver starts picking up the remote and the TVs volume bar just goes up and down. Is there an easy fix for this?!
Cannot delete songs from playlists using iOS iPad, even when offers delete it does not delete. Can’t even delete the whole playlist. How do I get playlists off my Sonos?
Having a few issues when browsing 'Music Library > Albums' on PC and Android App: 1 - Album thumbnails are slow to load 2 - Occasionally thumbnails fail to load (timeout?) despite folder.jpg being present (and navigating into album always forces thumbnail to show correctly) 3 - Thumbnail is never show despite folder.jpg being present. I believe all my issues are because the artwork is too high quality. Images in the hundreds of Kb are taking too long to load, and when I browse the complete album catalog, this can cause some to not show at all. My point 3. is because some of my images are over 1024x1024 pixels in size (although comment in below link refers to embedded content): https://support.sonos.com/s/article/543?language=en_US So my question and reason for this topic. What is the optimal artwork size for Sonos please? Are there any links to docs/specifications/wikis etc.? I resized some images to 200x200 pixels, which resulted in much faster loading, probably because
My daughter was round our house for Xmas and used her Spotify, on an iPhone 6S, to create a playlist over my SONOS Play:1. The next day, when she was at her own house, 4 miles away, she was trying to use her Spotify to play over her own Bluetooth speaker, unfortunately my Play:1 started up on its own, and as the Bluetooth speaker wasn't responding she tried increasing the volume, yes you guessed it, the Play:1 began blasting out with the music she was trying to play! I have a Play:1, Play:3 and Play:5, with the Bridge, can anyone suggest how this could have happened? Jon
I've been having trouble playing from my phone library. Support suggested playing from our PC. Is there an easy way to edit the play list from the PC library? All I can see to do is check individual songs and then delete them all at once. A slow process to go from 7000 songs plus to 1000-2000 songs. All of my family's music is on the PC, so I don't want certain artists to play.
Hi, (A question I asked Sonos, with their reply. I wonder if anyone else would support this suggestion, thanks). >> My Sonos system is great, but we had a party and some of our friends are on the wifi. A couple of them went onto the Sonos system on their phones and started playing inappropriate tracks and controlling the playlist. Is there a way to disallow them from controlling the Sonos. I.e. possibly require a user password access. Many thanks Kind regards SteveMap. >> This is the response from Sonos Customer Care >> >> Good morning Steve, Thank you for contacting Sonos Customer Care. I am sorry that people were able to access your Sonos system whilst holding a party. We want to try and provide music in the household that is easy for the whole family to access, as this is the case the Sonos system does not have any restrictions to who can access the system. As long as someone is able to connect to the Wi-Fi they will be able to access the system. In this inst
When is trueplay being released for android? ?
My sonos system gets stuck on one song, regardless of how I select the song to be played. I have tried to play all of the songs from one album (selected down arrow from the top of the list of songs and select "play now" then tried 'play next' when the album did not progress to the next song, the music repeats on that one song I selected to start with (even if it is the first one in the list). This is an issue with the custom music lists I create, it only plays the song it start with, repeatedly, despite choosing to play all of them (15 songs). So, I guess I am stuck this one song at a time. I have read other forums similar to this, with this same long standing issue and it does not appear to have been addressed by Sonos. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Thank you
I have 5 Connect:Amp's in my home. They are excellent, but the tuning of the sound can be even better. I've been waiting patiently for Trueplay to be added as a feature since it was first announced. When will Sonos add it for the Connect:AMP?
Brand new Sonos Play: 1 Would like to add music to Sonos player/controller/software. Under the Manage menu, everything is greyed out. Mac is running Yosemite 10.10 Lastest Sonos software on speaker and on computer (mac) Tried uninstalling Sonos software, resetting software, restarting speaker... Still wont work???
