Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

With the loss of support of the old controller I have been toying with getting a dedicated tablet to use as a controller. However I have a few Google mini's around the house and also have a strong interest in the upcoming Google Smart Displays as the one coming soon by Lenovo: https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/virtual-reality-and-smart-devices/smart-home/smart-home-series/Smart-Display-/p/ZZISZSDSD81 Was thinking this would be the ultimate controller replacement as it could do both Google Assistance and run a few apps such as Sonos. However I am seeing that it runs Android Things OS vs standard Android OS. Thus question is if there are plans to support this with a Sonos App. Again I believe this would be a cool replacement for the defunct controller.
Since some time i have to set the sleep timer twice to make it work. First time i set it, nothing happens. When i set it again, it works. Has anyone else experienced this behaviour recently? I'm using a Play 1.
Sleep timer counts down but doesn’t switch off Tune In radio on Play 1 any longer. This has only stopped working in the last couple of weeks. Set sleep timer for 1 hr, wake up with radio still playing in the morning. Is it possible to resolve this?
Running Android 9 on Pixel 2 XL. Go to settings to add a new speaker. App says "Sonos app needs updating" and shows an Update button and a Done button. Tapping the Update button opens the Sonos Google Play page with only 2 options, Uninstall or Open, so the app appears to be updated. Go back and tap Done instead, but still can't add speakers. It continuously goes in this loop of needing to update the app. Already tried uninstalling/reinstalling, clearing app cache, rebooting phone. New Play 5 is a brick at this moment, thanks guys. Fix the app now.

Doctor Sonos here. Remember me? You surrendered control of your teeth when you gave me money for "fillings" last year. Your fillings are totally under my control. They won't work any more until you accept my latest terms. Without my consent, they remain in your head but you can only use them as long as you agree to my shifting conditions. I alone decide when your teeth stop working and need an "upgrade". Your consent is irrelevant, really. Get over it. You can't chew until you install my latest remote control software, sorry for the inconvenience. But really I have your best interests - and those of me - and my marketing partners at heart. We can monitor what you eat, and how often you chew. For altruistic reasons, really. Trust me, I'm a doctor. Oh, and eat this cookie. That's an order, or I won't speak to you any further. There, that's better. Now go ahead and click on the upgrade. It's the path of least resistance. I'm a doctor - trust me.
Set up sonos app on Android but it is not my email address on app, I can't change it not sure what to do
I am playing music from My Music (purchase iTunes music) on the iPhone and Sonos will not play the entire songs. It just skips to the next song. Very frustrating.
Is it safe to delete previous install files after an update? I have 3 Sonos install files in this folder.
Love the system, but I wish... When you're in shuffle and click NEXT to skip the current song, I wish it would automatically fade out the current song before skipping to the next for a more seemless listening experience.
Currently, Tidal artists are listed in the order they were added to favorites rather than alphabetically. This makes it very difficult to find a particular artist when scrolling though hundreds of artists. This problem should be easy to correct. Bluesound lists artists in alphabetical order.
I haven't been using the OS X desktop for a while because you all crippled it and made the UI impossible to read. I understand that the 20 year-olds love their 'night mode', but a lot of the rest of us can NOT read the text when it's white on black/dark background. Everything is double-vision when it's like that. It's not usable. I work on my mac. I shouldn't have to use the tiny phone interface for sonos, when I'm sitting working on my mac. It needs to have full functionality and a usable UI. When will this be fixed?
How can I play the songs from my sonos library to the headphones on the iPhone? If I'm in the garden and within wifi range I want to listen to the music that's not stored on the iPhone via the sonos app. The iPhone should just be another device connected to the sonos app
For some reason the latest app version stopped my 4S from accessing and controlling my speakers. I have always used this old phone to stream music but now I get the black screen telling me the version is not compatible. The app really should be backward compatible. Please correct. Or enable going back to previous version.
Hi, I have 2 CR200 controllers. The first one has worked OK and updated OK till recently, then I got a second one that had been factory reset. I then mistakenly did a factory reset on my original one and now both of them will not update. Both of them are showing update now button for version 9.2. It gets to downloading, and then says there was a problem .
Hi all, My girlfriends iPhone 8+ can't connect to the system with the Sonos Controller. Really strange as we have 2 other iPhones in the flat as well as Macbook and iPad and Samsung Galaxy phone and they all work. Have tried to restart the router and forgotten and signed in on the network with the phone again but no luck. It works at first but stops once you close the app... Any ideas?? Much appreciated!
What is the purpose and why is my sonos speakers & bridge sending data to locations in Virginia?
I use the Mac desktop Sonos app. It prompted me to upgrade today, so I did. Only now it won't work at all because it says I need to update my OS. I don't want to update my OS – it'll kill Photoshop, for a start, and I can't afford to drop hundreds of pounds replacing software. It's not as if it's an ancient OS anyway. Everything was working fine yesterday. Can I just roll back to that point somehow?
Dear Sonos developers, I know one of the selling points of the Sonos system is that it doesn’t pause music when a call is received so this is a feature implemented on purpose. However, this “feature” is extra annoying in my opinion and, judging by other comments on this forum, to great many other Sonos users. Please add an option to pause music when a call is received like every other god damn iOS application (I would guess Android would be doing the same thing). On iOS 10 and above this is done using CXCallObserver that is part of the CallKit. Easy to do so, just give us the option, please!!! It’s super frustrating when I listen to pumping techno, get a work related call, and all I can do is run out to another room! Meanwhile it sounds like I’m at a club instead of doing work! Unacceptable Sonos!
Would be really nice if Sonos could add an intercom feature to your product, such that you could use your mobile device as a mic and be able to intercom into any area with a Sonos component. this would be a really useful product improvement.
The latest update has made my controller stop working. I use an amazon kindle fire to control my sonos (speaker and sound bar) - but with the latest software update it now says that my kindle software is not recent enough. I've spoken to amazon, and the software is up to date. I've spoken to customer services at Sonos - and they say there's nothing they can do. I cannot return to the previous version of the app. Does anyone know of a way to get the old version of the app back? or is there another update? My fire is not that old. I am really cross that what was working well is suddenly cancelled by Sonos - I understand that old hardware won't get new updates forever, but it seems wrong that it is made to not work anymore (and no warning given or I wouldn't have updated the app) and there seems nothing that I can do. Sonos is a premium brand and I had been very happy with it - but not now
I have a Samsung Galaxy A8, which I have been using pretty happily with my Sonos System on all the latest software, but I just received the Android Pie (9) update, and now Sonos is draining my Battery 30% of the usage just by Sonos in the last 8 hours another 25% is by the Play Services, and the phone is getting horribly hot! I updated the Sonos App after the operating system, which may have helped a little, but to get more than 11 hours of battery life (where before I had 24+) I have had to uninstall the Sonos App. Having had to ditch my trusty CR100 controllers (To which I managed to buy some Play1's and a Beam), Now I find I cant use the device of choice to control Sonos and it still be a useful phone. I see many threads on here about Battery life issues, and many threads on Android Pie and Media issues, but if the main interface to Sonos is an android phone and it's not usable how am I supposed to control it? After all my Phone is a Phone first, a Sonos controller well less t
Is it possible to get older sonos controller versions as my older iPad controller in basement of house is know outdated after automatic updates?
I have owned a Sonos system for about 12 years and in the past couple of days I have experienced a problem that I've not seen before. It goes a bit like this: start Sonos. Message that we need to check for software update. 3 step process fails on third step with the message Update problem ! Try again doesn't work. More information recommends unplugging everything and waiting 10 secs. I have done this routine many times. Then all of a sudden, Sonos is working. It will fail again at a later stage, still looking for a software update!! When it does work, the rooms that come up are not always the same and is always incomplete. Although there normally is, there is no option under Manage on my PC app, to add components. Has anybody seen this before and/or have a cure?
Hi, Aware that there was another thread about this but it was closed for comments and was left unresolved. This seems to happen to me more frequently through iPhone than my MacBook. Is very frustrating
