With the loss of support of the old controller I have been toying with getting a dedicated tablet to use as a controller. However I have a few Google mini's around the house and also have a strong interest in the upcoming Google Smart Displays as the one coming soon by Lenovo:

Was thinking this would be the ultimate controller replacement as it could do both Google Assistance and run a few apps such as Sonos. However I am seeing that it runs Android Things OS vs standard Android OS. Thus question is if there are plans to support this with a Sonos App. Again I believe this would be a cool replacement for the defunct controller.

Me too, I would be very interested in support from Sonos for them... Lenovo's is out now, Sony, JBL & LG all have them launching soon.
Me three!
Is there a way to make this a feature request... other than the #featurerequest tag?
THIS IS A MUST!!!!! The Lenovo would litterally be a perfect control! Can’t believe it doesn’t do this already
Given Google's renewed commitment to Smart Displays (https://www.engadget.com/2019/05/07/google-nest-hub-max/) , can we please, please get this support added?
Google Assistant support obviously has to come first. After that, I think it's going to depend on how deep the market penetration for these devices is.
Fair enough, now that's nearly here (https://www.androidcentral.com/google-assistant-finally-headed-sonos-one-and-sonos-beam) now let's have Smart Display support please and hopefully it won't take quite as long. 🙂
