I still have and use my 2 CR200’s. There is no Sonos replacement under the Trade Up program. I have 10 Sonos Amps, so I intend to continuing updating my system as new software becomes available. What other devices can I use to replace the CR200’s once they become obsolete? I start playing my Sonos system with commands to Alexa and 8 Echo Dot’s throughout my house. I use the CR200’s in their docks to adjust things I can’t do with Echo Dots - change an individual zone volume, visually check to see what is playing, add or drop a zone from an area group, etc. While I can do all these things from the Android app, I don’t carry a phone with me around the house. (In our house the phone goes in a cradle at the door -- no checking email at dinner.) I really like the fact that I can just set the CR200 in it’s cradle and it stays charged. I can pick it up to use it and then put it back and forget it when I’m done. So, what to do? I have an Amazon Fire HD 8, but it is much bigger than the C
How to play DJPro through Sonos System ?
My wife and I have exactly the same iPhone XR and she has been able to download the app S2 to her phone. Not only can I not get S2 from Apple App Store, S1 won't now load either onto my iPhone. Her S2 app is working well , it is also loaded on a IMAC, and 2 iPads. We have 9 Sonos S2 compatible units and on my account records 1 item (s2 incomparable) , that even shown is not live or used (was thrown away some ti e ago). My Phone past Sonos software (that was working ok until two weeks ago) was deleted in the new S@ set up mode and so now I have a phone that can't play any sonos units, as I have no - working app. Can someone please help ?
I cannot get past the Terms of Use screen to finish installation of the S2 app. No "Accept" button is available. Thanks.
Is anyone else frustrated that Sonos doesn’t support stereo pairing for Move over Bluetooth? I purchased a move with the intention of getting another in the future to have stereo outdoors but no support! I hope to see this resolved with an update on the near future! good day!
What has changed with the S2 update , my speakers sound much worse than they used to, they seems to lost the depth of sound and bass - I have Ones and Beams - the beams sound ok with tv but when playing music both the Ones and the Beams dont sound anywhere near as good as they did before the update. Is this a clandestine move to get me to buy a sub ?
Could we have release notes for v12? With new features and improvements? Any news on SMB support, library size, STP?
I will start this thread with a few caveats: First, this thread is not for rants. There are plenty here for those, and there is no bar on opening new ones. Second, the thread is directed for the subset of users that have a large investment in legacy products, and are content to see their Sonos systems as music systems that offer stable streamed music from either a NAS or from the net, and have no expectation of more bells and whistles - just that things continue to work as they are working today. I happen to be in this boat as well, as someone that has three out of six zones running very well on legacy products that I simply cannot afford to jettison until the hardware dies. Third, this thread is based on facts, some of which have been coming to light only over the last 48 or so hours. It is therefore incomplete to an extent, and may even be wrong in places. Feel free therefore to clarify/correct/add as necessary - and I specifically invite @Ryan S to do so. But, no rants please - the
Hey. Whist should i do to use s1 controller. When I chose it Hmm it jus say open s2 App. But since I got a speaker in kitchen who is not supported in s2. I wanna use s1 so I can listen to it when I am in kitchen. What to do?
after many hours splitting my S1 from my S2 system and getting the apps to work on my phone I now need the apps to work on my wife’s phone. I downloaded them & expected all the info to be there having logged into my account. it looks like I have to set up the whole system again on my wife’s app. surely there has to be a simple solution to this?
OK, Followed directions, downloaded S1 and S2. Ran S2 and it says install S1 and run it to remove gen 1 devices from the system. Go to system tools , and there is no “Remove Products” button!! All there is are System Compatibility link and a System Management “Trade Up” link. So how do I remove products so I can run S2??? Do I need to update my system first? When I check for updates, there is a new update.
App can’t find Sonos Got a new cable Modem. Same router – same SSID and Password. All my wi-fi devices reconnect immediately – except Sonos of course. I press the “Infinity Button” and the App starts looking immediately (therefore, it is detecting the key press (no problem). It says it has detected my system, but then immediately goes back into an error state – “No system found” I read once where Sonos is going to disable older speakers to make you buy new speakers? I have two Play5’s and two stereo pairs of Play One (Gen 1) I’ve deleted and re-installed the App – still doesn’t work Any solutions? Can’t Sonos make a more robust system here? – sorry I’m frustraed
Before I updated to S2, S1 was playing my 24-bit FLAC files but up to 48KHz sample rate. It won’t play anything above this. S1 was not meant to play anything above CD quality 16bit. When I heard that S2 will be playing Hi-Res I thought it will play all Hi Res tracks up to 24/192KHz I thought finally. So S1 was downgrading the track quality before it plays? Also any tracks higher than 24/48 it says it cannot play. Now with S2 - there is no change as yet. It still plays up to 24/48 and I presume is downgrading the tracks. Does S2 have the capability to play Hi-Res tracks? Or is this feature coming soon? Thanks.
My old desktop controller said an update was available. i ran the update but when the app restarted i received the “Sonos Desktop Controller has stopped working” error. I tried rebooting, rebooting on safe mode, and still wouldn't run. I uninstalled the software and tried loading S1 and S2. I get the same error on each. I loaded all windows updates and still nothing. OS: Windows 7 Home Premium - Service Pack 1 Any suggestions? Thanks!
I am running Mac 10.11.6. Any suggestions on how to make this active again?
I added a new room with 2 play1 and a Sub. I'm using the S1 controller. The option for Trueplay is not there. Trueplay is available in all the older rooms. Is this an S1 problem?
I have set up my Sonos system, 2 paired play 1s and 1 Sonos One, with a 4 G Router. Everything works as it used to on the telephone wire router except Amazon Music. I have deleted and re-installed Amazon Music but the result is the same. e.g. I can search for an artist, display albums etc. But can’t display the contents or play individual songs. Other music providers like TuneIn are working. how do I get Amazon music to set up and play on a 4g router
I upgraded my system to the S2 app and everything seems to be working well (speakers, mobile apps, PC desktop controller on main PC) except for the Desktop Controller on my laptop. It’s an older Dell laptop running Windows 7 that I stripped of most of it’s programs and pretty much only use for Zoom, Sonos and occasional web browsing. It was working fine with the old S1 controller, and said that the new controller was installed “successfully”, but every time I open the S2 app it acts like it’s booting up for 5-10 seconds and then gives me a popup that “Sonos Desktop Controller has stopped working” and gives me the options to “Check online for a solution” or “Close the program”. Neither option has solved the problem and both ultimately result in the program closing. I have deleted the old S1 controller and tried deleting the S2 app and reinstalling but the same result… Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for any help, Wesley
I have two distinct Sonos systems: a legacy-component Sonos stereo system in our upstairs living room (two Sonos Play speakers, and a Sonos Bridge connected to our router, downstairs), and a home-theater system downstairs (Playbase, Sub, L&R Sonos One speakers). I have been running all these components through the S1 app. I just ordered a Sonos Arc to replace the Sonos Playbase in our downstairs home theater system. The Arc only works with the new S2 app. The Playbase and Sonos One speakers will also work with the S2 app. To prepare for delivery of the Arc soundbar in a couple of weeks, I have downloaded and installed the S2 app on my iPhone. Now I want to “migrate” my present home theater setup (Playbase+L&R Sonos One speakers+sub) from my S1 controller to the new S2 controller, and replace the Playbase with the Arc soundbar when it arrives. Meanwhile I must continue to operate my upstairs living room stereo system (Sonos Play L&R speakers+Bridge) through the S1 contro
I do not want to upgrade to the S2 software but the notification that it is now available remains on the screen blocking all access to the rest of the S1 software. Sonos is now completely inaccessible thanks to the notification that will not allow the rest of the software to be accessed. How do I get rid of this annoying notification?
I’ve also sent these suggestions to Sonos but wondering what others are wishing for with the big S2 update. I’ve read Sonos’ S2 press release and what few new features mentioned in the press release sound great I think some of my suggestions could make S2 the gold standard OS for streaming music. With this in mind most of my suggestions are some of the best features of the Tidal, Quboz, Deezer and Roon native OS apps. Indicate streaming type of album and song playing no matter which music service you’re using inside the S2 controller….HiFi, MQA, CD, HD, Hi-Res etc Speaking of HiRes audio playback. it will be interesting if Sonos through the S2 update can push current Sonos products (speakers, Port and Amp) to actually play MQA music files from Tidal or Dolby Atmos for surround sound set-ups. Provide album credits, liner notes, album reviews and artist bio. Tidal and Roon does a wonderful job with this feature. Currently in Sonos S1 if you click “More” “Album Info” it takes you to see
Despite that fact that all my sonos components qualify for S2 status, only the S1 app downloaded. I can’t even see S2 when I search for it. How do I get the appropriate updates? I definitely only have sonos components that qualify.
I’ve always enjoyed and got on well with my Sonos equipment, which I would hope as I’ve invested a lot of money in it over the last 6 years. However, more recently, almost every time I use the app, it fails to pick up multiple speakers (I have 7 speakers and 1 Playbar in 5 rooms) until eventually they appear. I’m also a bit fed up with the connection dropping regularly
I can’t believe Sonos has not fixed this yet.EVERY Sonos update I have done in the past year from my Android phone has resulted in all playlists in ‘On This Mobile Device’ to be empty. The music is on my phone. I can play songs and albums fine. Sonos sees the playlists, but all playlists show “No selections are available”.The only fix I have found is to delete the Media Library storage, but then I have to redo all of my notification settings. I am not willing to do that anymore.
Our Sonos set up: We have nine Sonos units around the house. All are "S1" and all are currently working on ver 10.3 They are controlled by eight android tablets, all running the Sonos App V10.3. Most tablets are have a "final update available" of Android 6 (none more recent), an odd one or two are still Android 5. ie we cannot update the android versions without replacing the tablets (which is a total waste). Issue Every time Sonos is opened on one the tablets the user gets a "red button" with the suggestion to "update". If someone presses "update" on an android 6 tablet controller will it a) Update to the most recent version COMPATIBLE with android 6 b) Update to Sonos version 11 on the Sonos units, try AND FAIL to update the android tablets, leaving the tablets with less than full control If a) Great If b) Can I disable the "update" option, because the tablet controllers are used by all the household (and a red button can be very tempting to a teenager or his friend) Finally, if we
